August 14
Inuyasha and I have been talking a lot about stuff we need to get for the baby. It's time to start seriously thinking about these things. I'm almost halfway done with my fifth month so things are starting to get real. In the next few weeks, we plan to get what we need and start setting up the nursery.
I'm really looking forward to this part. Our guest room has just been kinda there. Koga slept there the one time he stayed over, and Shippo has stayed over a few times but otherwise, it hasn't gotten much use. However, the room was always intended to be a room for our babies since Yasha built the house and it's finally going to get some use.
This afternoon we were sitting on the floor making a list of everything we'll need to get in the coming weeks.
"Clothes, diapers…" I said as I wrote things down.
"Bottles," Yasha replied, as he looked over my shoulder. "Toys."
"That too," I said as I added that to the list.
Then I felt another kick in my stomach. Ever since last week, I've been feeling the baby move throughout each day. It was much more active in the afternoons and evenings, I guess the rest of the time it was asleep. Each time I felt it I got so happy. It lets me know that the baby is healthy and, after all, it's the best feeling in the world to have our baby moving in me.
I paused from writing and felt my stomach as the baby continued to move around.
"Is it moving again?" Yasha asked.
"Yeah, it's very active right now," I replied.
He put his hand on my stomach to feel it too. Yasha also loves feeling the baby move. He gets really excited about it. Plus he's always kissing my stomach and talking to the baby. It's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.
"You've got a lot of energy today, don't you?" he said to the baby. In response, the baby kicked again and we both laughed a bit.
"That one was kinda hard," I said.
"Calm down in there," Inuyasha said and we both laughed again. "I think it got excited when it heard it's getting toys."
"You're going to have everything you could ever want and all the love in the world," I said to the baby. Then I looked back at the list. "We've got a pretty long list. Should we add anything else?"
"I think we're good for now. How about we go to the market this weekend?"
"Works for me." I put the pen and paper aside and stretched. Although it was nice to feel the baby moving, as it grows it makes my back ache sometimes and this was definitely one of those moments.
"You alright, Kagome?"
"My back kinda hurts," I replied. "As the baby gets bigger, it puts more pressure on me."
"Want me to give you a massage?"
"Yes, please."
He sat behind me and started to rub my back and it felt so good.
Yasha laughed a little at the sounds I was making. "Your back must have really been hurting."
"That and your hands are magical."
