Welcome back to Ignitus' Wisdom! Today, we tackle a fighter from a franchise that I personally think deserved a Smash Rep ages ago, even if I personally prefer a few other people. Specifically, I'm speaking of Castlevania, and today's fighter Simon Belmont. I'll be honest, despite being the poster child of the series, I really would have preferred Alucard, or even Dracula himself represent Castlevania over Simon. Nothing against Simon Belmont himself though, just a preference. But since Alucard is in Richter's Guidance, and Dracula is a stage hazard, I let it slide. Anyways, let's not waste another second. Here we go!
Spyro: Whoa, who's the discount Conan the Barbarian?
Ignitus: That's Simon Belmont, the legendary vampire hunter.
Spyro: Wait, that's Simon Belmont? Wasn't his hair longer?
Ignitus: I think it was at some point. Or maybe I'm thinking of one of the others.
Spyro: Considering the Belmonts have been fighting Vampires for nearly 1000 years in multiple universes, it could be.
Ignitus: True.
Spyro: And after all that, I say it's about time this series got some recognition in Nintendo's in-house brawler. Koji Igarashi's masterpiece deserves more respect, which apparently only he was able to provide in that Bloodstained project of his.
Ignitus: Fair enough. And that game was amazing.
Spyro: I agree. So, getting back on track, how do we take out the legendary vampire hunter?
Ignitus: Beware his chain whip, the Vampire Killer, it's a mystical weapon only by the Belmont bloodline can wield. Overall though, Simon is a ranged fighter.
Spyro: Got it. Let's see if the legacy of Clan Belmont is deserved!
