Sam glanced over at Bella as she rubbed the side of her head. He looked back at the road, making a turn when directed. "You should ice that tonight," He advised, and Bella glanced over at him with a small smile. "I will. Thank you. My house is just right there up the road," She pointed towards a small white house, groaning softly as there were a few cars outside, and Charlie holding a map.

Sam pulled up on the curb and put the truck in park. He got out first, walking around the other side to help Bella out. She took his hand, hopping down with ease. He looked around her yard and her home, his nose wrinkling at a weird smell. His eyes shot up to her window, brows furrowing in suspicion. "You should close those at night," He murmured, pointing up to her window.

Bella frowned, tilting her head. "I don't even remember opening it," With a hand on the small of her back, he led her over to the crowd of people, murmuring quietly. "Chief," Sam called, drawing everyone's attention to them. Charlie audibly sighed in relief before rushing forward. "God, I was about to call every damn station in the county. Are you alright? I've been trying to call you. I know you went with your friends, and their parents said they never saw you come back with any of them. What happened?"

Bella opened her mouth to try to explain what had gone down, that she was left in the woods for some prank, but they didn't count on her being lost. "Some prank. I got lost in the woods, Sam found me actually," Charlie tore his eyes to the giant, and unknowing to Bella, gave him a minute nod. "What the hell happened to your head?" He asked, turning her face to the side.

"I fell," She explained. "Tripped over something, it was dark," Charlie pulled Bella into a hug, his face set in a frown. "Go on inside and get cleaned up. There should be some aspirin in the medicine cabinet. Eat first," He nudged her towards the house before turning to send everyone home.

As everyone started to disperse, Charlie turned to Sam. "Did she see you?" He questioned, glancing back inside. Sam shook his head. "No. It was too dark. Her friends were trying to look for her, but she got lost. She's fine for the most part," Charlie ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. "Damn kids. They better hope she doesn't want to press charges for endangerment, or hell, I will. You know, one of the kids had the audacity to answer the phone? That little shit lied to me," Sam shook his head, his attention once again looking towards Bella's window. "Chief, she open that often?" Charlie followed his line of sight, shaking his head. "Maybe? Sometimes I'll find it open, and I'll close it. Might just be loose,"

Sam just raised a brow at his explanation. "She says she doesn't remember. Mind if I give it a look?" Charlie looked towards the house, "Yeah, better safe than sorry," Charlie followed behind Sam, stopping when he did. "What is it?" He asked worriedly. "Before I enter your house, I need you to know I imprinted on her," Sam met Charlie's eyes with sincerity, waiting for him to say something. Charlie rubbed a hand down his face, peaking into the house. "I know you can't help it, but really?" Sam just shrugged, looking the least bit apologetic. "I'll find a way to shoot you," He threatened, a small smile forming.

"I'm sure you will," Sam chuckled, before making his way inside. "Bells? Sam's coming up to take a look at your window. Are you decent?" Charlie called up. Bella poked her head out of the bathroom door, nodding. "Yeah, go right ahead," She shut the bathroom door, and Sam made his way up the stairs, pushing her door open. Charlie quickly followed behind, bounding up the steps.

He flicked on Bella's light, looking around. "Turn that off," Sam whispered, crouching low to the floor. Charlie flicked it off as Sam made his way to the window, standing once again. He leaned forward poking his head outside. He examined the window, grumbling to himself. "Smells like leech, it hasn't come inside though. Keep this window locked at all times," Sam shut the window, locking it tightly, gazing outside. "Cullen?" Charlie asked, coming to stand next to him. "One of them," Sam replied.

"The Cullen's? The ones that go to school with us?" Sam turned around, crossing his arms over his chest. "Have you made contact with them?" He asked, his demeanor much different than minutes prior. Bella tilted her head confused. "Made contact? No, not exactly. One of them, the youngest, Edward I believe was really weird around me," Charlie walked forward grabbing Bella by the arms, making her look at him.

"This is important Bella. Did he say anything to you? Anything at all?" Bella frowned, obviously concerned at Charlie's reaction, but she answered anyway. "Um, just that I smell good," She looked in between her father and Sam, wondering what kind of connection that had to do with anything. Charlie glanced at Sam concerned. Sam gave the okay, and Charlie pulled Bella to the edge of the bed. "What I am about to say to you will make no sense, but you must believe me, and you can't utter a single word of this to anyone. Do you understand?" Bella nodded immediately, briefly glancing behind her as Sam started to talk on the phone.

"Stat away from The Cullen's. They aren't human Bells. He said you smelled good. What color were his eyes?" Bella frowned, but answered, "Black. Dad, I don't understand, what do you mean not human? What are trying to say, like vampires?" Charlie nodded, holding eye contact with her. Bella almost wanted to laugh, but the seriousness of his expression stopped her. "You're serious?" She asked. Charlie nodded. "And he's been here. Outside the house. Don't open this window," Sam warned, coming to stand in front of them. "Come with me," He held out his hand, and she glanced a Charlie, who nodded. She took his hand, and Sam gently pulled her to her feet, leading her down the stairs.

Charlie sighed, mentally counting in his head. He knew what Sam was doing when he heard the backdoor open and close. He made his way downstairs, whistling to himself praying his daughter had a bit more steel around her than he did. He fainted the first time, ad the second time he stayed as far away as possible for almost a week until he realized he was in no real danger. Bella's yelp of surprise had him chuckling. He made his way to the backdoor to see her standing still as a stone staring at the large, black wolf. Opening the backdoor, Charlie laid a hand on her shoulder. "Don't be afraid. You reacted better than me kid," Bella turned her wide eyes to Charlie and then back to Sam.

She sucked in a deep breath, nodding to herself. "Okay…vampires are real, um people turn into giant dogs, anything else I need to know?" She asked, looking at him expectantly. "Nope," He responded.

"Good here?" Sam asked, stopping in front of the school. Bella nodded, looking at the students who were oblivious to the danger around them. "They really don't know?" She questioned, her hand on the door handle. "Nope, and they never will as long as the Cullen's stay in line. If they don't follow the rules, we threatened to expose them to the people. We'll kill them," Bella turned to him, a curious expression on her face.

"Do you like being a…wolf?" She questioned. Sam shrugged. "It has its perks," He responded, staring at her with an equal amount of curiosity. "Like what?" She asked, looking back out towards the students. "Strength, agility, heightened senses, and other things," He replied. Bella hummed and opened the truck door. "I'll be by to make sure you get into your truck with no issues. Remember you can call me if anything seems off to you, but Cullen shouldn't bother you today," She glanced at him confused and he motioned towards the sky. "It's sunny right now, they won't be out," He chuckled at her raised brows of surprise. "Right," She murmured, closing the door.

"If you don't mind Samuel, why is this meeting being held?" Sam raised a brow in Carlisle Cullen's direction. "It's Sam, and this meeting is a warning. I'm telling one of your own to back off of one of the humans in Forks. Swan. She's off-limits," Sam narrowed his eyes at the Bronze haired vampire. Carlisle's brows rose in surprise. "When did…?" Sam interrupted by raising his hand. "Now. She's now under protection. If you land on their property, it's war," Sam raised a brow, glancing at each of them, before giving a whistle to alert his pack that they could leave. "Understood," Carlisle responded.

Sam turned away and paused. "By the way, no contact on school grounds either….remember, even your kind has a stench," He replied without turning around.

Bella brushed her arm against Sam's as they walked down the beach. "Why'd you bring me out here?" She questioned, moving the hair from her face. Sam shrugged, glancing down at her. "Thought you could use some sun paleface," He smarted, smiling as she snorted in return, hitting him in the arm. "Yeah, yeah," She rolled her eyes.

"Edward won't be coming around you again. I took care of it," Bella smiled, looping her arm through his. "I can't even imagine what it's like to be one of them…undead. I couldn't imagine giving my life away to be forever young. Did he…want to eat me?" She questioned, glancing up at him. The sun hit his eyes, the light brown pools staring back at her. Sam moved a strand of hair behind her ear, shaking his head. "Not sure, but I don't think so. He didn't go in for a reason, he probably wanted to make you his undead bride," He joked, watching her shiver of disgust. "Gross," She said, laughing softly as he put an arm around her shoulder. "Don't worry, I wouldn't've let them get you," He promised.

"And why is that, dog?" She smiled, waiting for an answer. "Hmmm, story for another day?" He asked, smiling down at her.

FIN.
