"Hey Tori". Said Rodger.
"Hey" Said Tori.
"How was your week?" Rodger asked.
"Kind of stressful". Said Tori.
"Yeah? What's going on?" Rodger asked.
"My aunt Luisa". Tori said sadly. "She's pressuring me to get a job".
"She is?" Rodger asked.
"Yeah", said Tori. "Doesnt she realize we're in the middle of a pandemic still?" Tori asked.
"I was just about to say that. So many people have lost friends or family because of covid19. It's very serious what's going on in the world". Said Rodger.
"Yeah, I'm terrified of covid19. I dont wanna put my health at risk. I care about my health too". Said Tori.
"I agree with you". Said Rodger. "She shouldn't be pressuring you to do anything you're not comfortable with. It sounds like she has some insecurities to deal with". He said.
"Plus many businesses have lost money or went out of business. I even wrote a blog post about her too". Said Tori.
"Yeah, can you read it to me?" Rodger asked.
"Yeah of course". Said Tori. "To aunt Luisa; When I see you I see a monster. Your anger problem has caused me bad anxiety. Please get help for your anger. Please. Your empty threats and the way you treat your kids when you yell at them and curse at them is simply disgusting. You're an abuser. You will NEVER change. You have NOT changed. You've tried and tried to make my life miserable and I did what YOU wanted. To help out around the house more. Why isnt that good enough for you? What will be good enough for you? People like you dont live very happy lives. So I wish you good luck".
Rodger was blown away. He was amazed. "Wow! Beautifully written!" He said.
"Thank you". Said Tori. "Its how I truly feel about her".
"I think you worded that perfectly. You did a good job". Said Rodger.
Tori nodded. "Thanks! I just feel invisible to my family sometimes. I feel like I dont belong. I believe my family has their own little cliques. It upsets me. I just wanna feel like I matter for once, you know?".
"Mhm". Said Rodger.
"I feel like I'm not being noticed by some of my family. Like they dont need me there at the dinner table. They can talk and laugh without me". She said.
"Mhm". Said Rodger.
"I dont feel accept by them either". Said Tori.
"Mhm". Said Rodger.
"And my aunt Luisa is abusive. She yells at her kids. Threatened to beat their ass. Apparently I disrespected my grandma by telling her I didn't wanna go with her to marshalls. She said her and I are gonna have problems". Said Tori
"Wow". Said Rodger. "The reason why she acts the way she does is because she uses what it's called an intimidation tactic to get her kids to do what she wants them to do by threatening them. Yes, her threats are empty. But she shouldn't be threatening anyone. It sounds like she is definitely an abuser emotionally and verbally. And I believe she needs to seek professional help to". He said.
"Yeah". Said Tori. "I believe when she looks in the mirror she doesnt like what she sees. Like she doesnt love herself. Like she compares my life to hers and talks bad about everyone. And why? Does she feel that bad about her life?" She said.
"Its possible, yes". Said Rodger.
"People like her that are that abusive never change. They never get help. And they'll blame everyone else. It's never her fault. I'm sorry, but, I deserve better. People like her they struggle in life and they just dont get it. Their only satisfaction is to make everyone else miserable. Abuse is HORRIBLE in all ways! And she'll always be abusive. She'll always be a miserable person. And life for her will always be a struggle. So I said to her good luck". She said.
"Well said". Said Rodger.
"My plan of action is to focus on my classes and be with my girlfriend and just enjoy life". Said Rodger.
"That sounds great. Focus on the things that make you happy and bring you joy. If your aunt Luisa doesnt like it then that's her own problem. Let her deal with her insecurities by herself. And Tori please keep up the good work. You're doing great". Said Rodger.
"Thank you. Talk to you next week". She said.
