A/N: This is one of the last few chapters of LNWU. While I think I might have either "played it safe" when it came to adapting elements from Persona 4/Persona 4 Golden (and the Animation/Golden Animation adaptations) or taken unnecessary risks depending on specific plot points, I hope that you have enjoyed reading LNWU as much as I have enjoyed writing it. As a wise man (not me) once said, "Nothing ever ends."

Disclaimer: I don't own anything apart from my OCs. Anything that belongs to a third party is a property of that third party. Also, any OC created by another author that I'm using in LNWU (with the aforesaid author's/authors' expressed permission) is the property of that author. Obviously.

Chapter 201

March 19, 2012

Yomotsu Hirasaka, Mayonaka

Yu and Dylan had returned to Yomotsu Hirasaka.

They were face to face with Izanami again. However, she had taken on a much more skeletal appearance.

"So, it appears that you have returned. But it doesn't change anything." Izanami looked down at them.

Dylan couldn't help but disagree with her. "Actually, a lot has changed. Even though it doesn't look like it."

"You both could have lived with your friends in eternity, living with the warmth of the fog, and instead you've squandered it… And thus, they are truly dead." Izanami ignored him.

Yu shook his head. "They might not be here, but they're not dead. And I know exactly what will bring them here."

"If you believe that, then you have truly lost your mind. There's no way that you can defeat me. You should just give up!" Izanami laughed.

She stopped laughing when the hands that were grabbing Yu and Dylan went right through them.

Yu smiled. "You can't win."

"Because we know the truth." Dylan added.

Yu summoned Izanagi no Okami and Dylan summoned Nari no Okami.

Both Personas struck Izanami with multiple attacks.

Izanami attempted to fight back by either dragging them back into the abyss or attacking them.

But she failed.

Yu launched his final attack. "Izanagi no Okami! MYRIAD TRUTHS!"

Izanagi no Okami rapidly spun his sword around clockwise and kept on going.

The crystal that Yu was carrying embedded itself in the blade and cross-guard before a beam of pure light emanated from the centre of the blade and hit Izanami.

Izanami let out a loud scream as the light hit her and was absorbed into her.

She couldn't resist all the light that she was absorbing.

It got to a point where Yu and Dylan had to look away.

The light poured out until the rest of the Seekers of Truth had appeared behind Yu and Dylan.

Yu and Dylan dismissed Izanagi no Okami and Nari no Okami respectively as the light eventually stopped pouring out.

Izanami's appearance had changed.

She was slightly shorter than she was when the Seekers of Truth had initially encountered her. Izanami had black hair that extended down to about halfway down her back tied in a ponytail and green eyes. She was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt over a black with golden stars on it and blue knee length shorts complete with black stockings and flat shoes. There was also a white and gold mask in her left hand.

Izanami looked a lot like Marie.

"I should probably apologise for before. I haven't been quite myself for a long time. But now I am, thanks to your efforts." Izanami looked contrite.

Yosuke spoke up. "Um… Thanks? I guess?"

"You did drag us into a hellish abyss, so you really should apologise." Chie said.

Kanji nodded. "Yeah. So, what's stopping you from doing that again?"

"I am deeply sorry for my actions. And, I guarantee that I will never drag any of you into hellish abysses again." Izanami replied.

Takeru scratched his head. "Well, I guess that would work."

"I think we're all in agreement, then." Naoto remarked.

Stephen nodded. "I've got no objections."

"Neither do I." Travis spoke up.

Eddie also agreed. "Me neither."

"The past is in the past, after all…" Zach said.

Rise looked at Izanami. "I think I can trust you."

"You're not a threat anymore, so yeah. I do trust you." Roz shrugged.

Teddie looked at Izanami. "I've got no objections."

A blue door opened and Marie stepped through it.

The blue door closed behind her as she approached Izanami.

"It's good to see you again, now that I'm truly myself. We were the same once and it's time for us to be the same again." Izanami addressed Marie directly.

Yu looked at Marie. "Is this going to change anything?"

"Apart from Izanami being my Persona under a slightly different but still familiar name? Not really." Marie answered.

Dylan interjected. "But the fog and all that crap is going to be gone? Right?"

"Yes." Izanami smiled beatifically at him.

Yu looked at Izanami and Marie. "I think it's time."

"Agreed." Izanami nodded.

Marie let out a deep breath. "Sure. It's going to take some getting used to, but I don't mind."

Izanami started glowing with a blue light as she started to become energy.

This energy started to flow into Marie, who begun to glow.

Marie was soon surrounded by blue light as the area around them started to change as the fog dissipated.

The blue light started to fade after a few minutes.

Marie started to become visible again.

Everybody looked out when the light had finally faded.

And what they saw was beautiful.

There were lush green fields, forests full of trees, animals and fish jumping out of crystal-clear blue waters.

Marie walked to where Yu and the others were waiting.

"That should do it. Izanami, or Izanami no Mikoto now, is my Persona. And we're one again. But all I need is a name." Marie said.

Yu thought about it. "Kusumi Mariko? That could work."

"Thank you." Marie gave Yu a hug and a kiss. Which he returned.

Yu smiled. "You're welcome."

"The fog and stuff are gone outside too. In the real world, I mean." Marie said.

Yu put an arm around Marie. "So, everything's going to be fine outside?"

"It should be." Marie replied.

Yu noticed the Seekers of Truth looking at them. "We should probably explore this place before heading back."

And that's what they did.

Junes Electronics Department

The Seekers of Truth, and Marie, explored the reborn parts of Mayonaka before making their way back to the Entrance. Other parts of Mayonaka were still covered in fog and had Shadows, but they were familiar sights.

They went into the TVs and noticed that Junes was pretty much empty when they'd emerged.

Everybody who had sheltered from the fog and rain had gone home when it had finally dispersed.

There were some stragglers, but there weren't many of them.

Especially not when the sun was starting to set.

The Seekers of Truth, and Marie, made their exit.

There was still time to give Yu more of a send-off.

A/N II: Apologies for how short the chapter was. All the changes that I'd made (to the plot of Persona 4/Persona 4 Golden and the adaptations) had already been made, so I didn't think that much more needed to be said. Or written.
