Judy, Nick, Simon, Jack, and Skye watched as Sam blocked the wolf's blow and grabbed his arm. Sam twisted and got behind the wolf. He flipped over and began to pull back. The wolf tapped his leg twice and Sam let go.
"Can't believe I just fought a fucking wolf," Sam muttered under his breath.
"Simon, I want to go at him," Judy said.
"Are you sure?" Simon asked.
Judy nodded and walked over to the door.
She entered the room.
Sam smiled.
"Oh come on. This will be too easy." Sam got in a fighting stance, as did Judy.
Sam groaned, clutching his groin.
"That's... below the belt." He gasped. Judy brushed herself off and walked out of the room.
Skye and Nick were howling with laughter, while Simon and Jack shook their heads.
"Hey, can I get something to eat?" Sam called.
"Shit," Simon said. He pressed a button and spoke into the intercom.
"What... do you eat... exactly?" He asked.
"Meat and vegetables."
"What kind?"
"Uh, pretty much all of them?"
"Do you eat steak?"
"Yes."
"Would you like some?"
"Sure, why not."
Simon ordered an Omnivore Special from the cafeteria and had it brought to where the humans were staying. The 4 of them began to dig in.
"Amazing. They have the flat teeth of prey, but sharp ones like a predator too." Simon said as they watched them eat. He looked down at a chart. "Their DNA shows very little change in the past few million years. My conclusion is that we, my friends, are dealing with an Apex Predator classification."
"But there hasn't been an Apex Predator science animals were savage. And even then, it held little meaning, because there were multiple of them." Jack said.
"Yes but these humans are different. I hate to admit, but I would call them a perfectly evolved species. They were intelligent when we were savage." Simon continued. "They design suggests numerous abilities. Even though they have terrible hearing, smell, and sight, they dominate their world. They have no competition."
"What do the other intelligence agencies know?" Jack asked.
"We only contacted a few. MOIA and UKAIA. They've both sent agents out. In fact, MOIA's should be arriving soon." Just as Simon finished speaking the door opened and in walked a muscular dolphin.
He was wearing a light blue suit. His MOIA badge was attached to his belt, right next to the AquaPistol he carried in a holster.
"Delphin Golden, MOIA." The dolphin said, striking out his hand. Each of them shook it. "So, that's them, huh?"
The dolphin nodded towards the screen where the humans were talking with each other after their meal.
"My scientist should be here soon. He had to find a place to park the WaterTruck." Delphin walked over and analyzed the humans. The door opened again and in walked another dolphin.
"Ah, Port, there you are," Delphin said. Delphin turned to the rest of them. "Can we meet them?"
"Were under orders to wait for UKAIA's agents. They should be here in about an hour.
Delphin nodded.
"Well then. I'm hungry. Got any seafood?"
Thirty minutes later The two lynxes walked through the door of the observation room.
"Hello. I am Sorina. This is Taylor. Were from UKAIA."
"Hello, Sorina," Delphin said.
Sorina's eyes widened.
"Delphin?"
Delphin smiled a dolphin smile and nodded.
"I haven't seen you since Egypt!" Sorina said.
"Sorry you two, but we don't have time to catch up," Simon said. "We need to talk."
Simon led everyone to a meeting room. He had the Humans put in the room next to it so they could transfer easily.
"So, here's what we know so far." Simon clicked a button and a hologram display lit up on the table.
"These things are called humans."
"Is that our name for them?" Taylor asked.
"How intelligent are they?" Port questioned.
"They are incredibly advanced. More so than us in fact."
Everyone glanced at the video feed of the humans in the other room. Simon began to explain their classification, and how he believed they may be Apex Predators.
"There hasn't been an Apex Predator in years though." Delphin interrupted. Everyone began to argue, their voices rising.
"HEY!" Nick shouted. Everyone quieted down. Then they noticed Nick was staring at the video feed.
"Why haven't they moved?" Nick asked.
All eyes turned to the screen watching it intently. There was a blip, the screen turned black for only a fraction of a second, but they saw it.
"It's on loop."
Everyone scrambled up. They burst out of the room and threw open the door to the room beside it. The room was empty.
The humans had escaped.
A siren began to wail. Sam pressed on the gas of the car that looked suspiciously like a Range Rover. It had been the only car that fit them and Lian had hotwired in 3 seconds.
"We need to find our ship," Zak said.
"Any ideas?" James asked.
Sam pointed towards a mountain. Stuck on the slope were large hanger doors. On the doors it said ZAF.
"I'm guessing it might be in the discreet mountain air force base."
Sam gunned the engine, speeding towards the mountain.
Sorry if the chapter seems a little bland. I'm having a bit of writer's block on where this story could go.
