Mulan's Prov

The week flew by, it was a day before the full week, when Honghui and I were getting ready to go. "You guy's are NOT going!" Boa said. "Boa stop. We need to. We have stuff we need to fix, We'll be back. I promise." Honghui said, kissing his sisters head. "Mulan needs to go see her parents, We'll be back."

He helped me up on to Black Wind, Before hopping up on his horse. "Wait… I knew you borrowed her…" He smiled small and said "I bought her while you were talking with Cricket." I grinned. "Well, I'll miss your arms around me." He chuckled, as we rode almost fully to my parent's village. "Honghui! It's getting Dark! Can we pleaseee Stop?" I asked, feeling exhausted. "Sure, Honey." He said, as we stopped the horses. " Alright. I'll get a fire goi… Hey are you feeling Okay?" He asked, as he helped me down. "Yeah… I'm okay… I'm just tired…" I replied, as he said "Well, don't worry. I'll get everything set up, You can rest. You look exhausted." He got the logs for us to sit on, before starting the fire. "What can I do?" I asked, as he said "I'll get you some fish." I nodded, as he got the fish, and some left overs from the saddle bag. "Here you go honey. Can you heat it up while I pitch the tent?" "Sure." I answered as I made the food, and served it up on some plates Honghui had brought over. "Honghui, Dinner's ready!" I called over my shoulder, causing him to come over, kissing my head and sit beside me. We started eating but Honghui said "Don't eat the fish." I said "What's wrong with it?" I went to take a bite but Honghui said "No. Mulan don't… I know you tried, so it's okay. It's just burned on some parts, yet not so well cooked on the other."

I frowned. "I can't believe I did that! Honghui, I'm so Sorry!" Honghui took my plate, and knelt in front of me. "Hey, No sweetheart, Don't apologize. I know cooking is not your thing, I remember you told me, during one of our lake visits back at the camp. I'm gonna help, and do some of the cooking. Remember I had told you I had to learn to help take care of my mom when she was pregnant? We can figure it out together. I promise." I said "Thank you Honghui, and I'm sorry my fish almost gave you food poisoning." He chuckled and said "Don't apologize, love. It's okay. That's why I stopped you from eating them. I know you've been feeling a little uneasy, but not wanting to admit it."

I blushed, and said "Thank you." He said "Of course. You're my wife." I said "Um. I think I'm gonna go lie down… I'm tired." Honghui said "Sure… Just eat the rice first? For me?" I said "Okay, that's fair… But…" I quickly ate the rice, before going over to the tent and laid down on the mat. "Mulan? Are you sure you are 100 % Okay?" Honghui asked, as he entered the tent. "Yes I'm 100 % Sure I'm Okay… I'm just really tired." He smiled and said "Well get some sleep love." We fell asleep in each others arms.

In the morning, I woke, to Honghui's empty spot next to me. "Honghui?" I called before picking up the dresses, as he poked his head in. "You Okay?" He asked. "Yeah… Umm Is breakfast ready?" "Yeah, just needs a couple more minutes. I got us a couple more fish to eat. I could hear your stomach growling on and off during the night." I chuckled. "Sorry about that. Especially since it probably kept you up." I joked, as he said "I was up anyways. Keeping an eye out for trouble." I said "Thanks. Umm I'll be right out." I quickly dressed and went out. "Hey." We sat on the logs, as we ate.

After breakfast, we went into the town. "Mulan's home!" The group of towns people said, in shock. Before I could even process I saw my sister, running towards me which is when I pulled her close. "I have so much to ask you!" she said, as the grip of her hug loosened. "But tell me about you first." I said, as I looked at her. "I am matched." She said, grinning from ear to ear. "Tell me all about him." I gushed. "He's a wonderful man! Not afraid of Spiders, He is brave and Kind. And I know his name. It's Cricket." I felt a hand on my shoulder. "We know him, and he's a perfect match for you." I answered, hugging her close. " Oh come on! Mother would be surprised to see you, and your friend. I'm Xiu." She said finally noticing Honghui. "I'm Honghui, Your sisters Husband. I'm sure you remember Mulan and I were promised before the war?" Honghui said proudly.

"Oh Yes! I remember! When did you marry?" She asked, causing me to say "Right when we got to the city after the war. But come, Let's get home, and we can talk over dinner." We got home, and Xiu told us to be quiet. "Mom, Guess who's home!" She said, excitedly. "Xiu! You were supposed to be home 15 minutes ago!" Mom said as she finished making dinner.

Xiu waved me and Honghui in. "Mother…" I said, feeling Honghui's hand slip in mine, as Mom looked up. "Mulan! Your Home!" I nodded and said "I'm home. But only for a little while… We have to get back, But I wanted to make amends, to you both and to father… Where Is he?" My mother said "Well you two can sleep in your old room. You guys can get settled, after dinner." I looked to Honghui, as Xiu said "Umm… Father passed away while you were fighting… He said to tell you, he's forgiven you, and is proud you are his daughter… And said that he shouldn't have been so stubborn, and should've let you go. He made me swear to tell you the second I saw you if your return." I took a deep breath as I said "I'm sorry… I'm sorry… I know I'm not the ideal daughter…"

My mom came over and pulled me into her arms. "Mulan stop. It's Okay. You were just trying to protect your father. It's alright. I'm Proud of you." I smiled and said "Thanks mama So you forgive me for running off?" My mom said "You were only doing what you thought was right for the family. And it was. I could never be angry with you for doing that. You saved us all and brought Honor to us." I said "Thank you… and I'm sorry…"

"It's Okay, sweetie. Now lets eat, You, me, Xiu, and Honghui, that's your name right?" Honghui said "Yes, um I was the only one who figured out initially Mulan was Female, and vowed to protect her, as her husband. We married in the city once we finished the war. I know it might be disappointing you missing our wedding, my mom's disappointed too. But we are happy." My mom smiled and said "While I am disappointed, I am so proud of both of you. Welcome officially to the family." I smiled to Honghui, happily, as he hugged my mom. " Thank you." We ate quietly, before Honghui and I got up to go to my old room. "Mulan, Can I talk to you for a moment?" My mom asked, before Honghui and I moved to the alls to go to my old room. "Umm… Sure, Whats up?" Honghui, left to go to the other room.

"Did you and Honghui do anything at the camp?" My mother asked, as I stuttered. "What makes you ask that?" "You've gotten a glow since you've been back, You do look like you've gained a little bit of weight… I'm not trying to pry of course… I'm just Curious… I promise. I'm not gonna be mad." I took a deep breath and said "Yes… We did… and yes. I'm pregnant with his baby… And Yes. That is one of the main reasons we got married, other than our love for each other… But I'm tired, I didn't get much sleep last night, so I am gonna go lie down."

Before my mom could stop me I went to the halls, and walked with Honghui the rest of the way to my old room. "What did your mom want?" Honghui asked, as we shut the door. "I told her everything." I said, as I sat on the bed. "Oh no, how did she react?" I said "I don't know I walked off before she could respond…" "Well… Let's try and sleep… You're exhausted, and honestly, so Am I." "I am tired…. I didn't get much sleep…" He said "Sorry love, go on get some sleep." I laid on the bed closing my eyes, before I felt Honghui lay beside me, his arm draped over my body. "sleep now Mulan. We're safe." He whispered, as I fell asleep.

I woke a couple hours later, to Honghui holding me close, fast asleep. I carefully got out of bed without waking him, and went out to the living section. "Xiu! Go wake your sister! She needs to learn to cook and how to be a proper wife and Mother!" I sighed entering. "Okay, listen. I'm not gonna be the proper wife, and Honghui already promised he didn't care. I'll set the table." I said not leaving room for discussion, as I set the table. Honghui came out and said "Hey… You okay?" he asked as he came over to me. "yeah." The week flew by, and today we were gonna head home.
