Chapter 3
Dan's POV:
I was awoken by Natalie shaking my shoulders violently. "What the-?" I said, my eyes shooting open and looking around.
"Finally," Natalie sighed, "You've been out cold for hours. The plane landed, let's go Daniel."
I rolled my eyes, but complied and followed Nat off the plane. "Do you have directions to the hotel?" She asked, looking at her phone. I replied, "Yeah, it's just around the corner, we can walk from here."
Natalie nodded and picked up her suitcase off the luggage pickup. I grabbed mine and we headed to the hotel.
The hotel was farther away then I had originally thought, and by the time we were there, both of us were out of breath. Natalie leaned against a lamp post, not bothered by the fact that her once pristine white shirt was now covered in dust and dirt. "Have I mentioned that I hate you lately?" She snarled, roughly pushing me. I fell into the grass and she walked up the steps and checked us in. Standing up, I brushed my pants off, then followed her inside. I think I lost feelings for Nat again. I thought, yet I smiled at the sight of her.
Nat noticed my goofy grin, and much to my surprise, smiled back, playfully sticking her tongue out at me. I made a silly face and crossed my eyes. Natalie burst into a fit of giggles, almost toppling over with laughter. "Dan, you are such an idiot!" She said, wiping happy tears from her cheeks. Had I really just made Natalie, (the cold hearted, evil witch,) laugh so hard she cried?
And did she just call me Dan? She only ever called me Daniel, my full name, which she knew I hated.
I smiled sweetly at her, and she lightly punched my shoulder. "Follow me," She said, walking towards the elevator, "We have the penthouse." I let out an "Ooh!" of excitement, and Nat smiled again. That made twice in one day that she had smiled at me. Is she not an emotionless brat? I wondered.
Natalie's POV:
1 week into our Paris vacation, and Dan and I had gotten along fairly well. We weren't exactly best friends, but we weren't at each other's throats either. He hadn't touched me at all though, not even a brush against my arm. I was pretty disappointed at that, but certainly did not visibly hint at it.
"Hey, Nat?" Dan asked, turning to look at me from his spot on the couch in our room. "What is it Daniel?" I snapped, a bit upset from my sleepless night. I liked Dan, but he snored. Very loudly.
"Do you wanna go visit the Eiffel Tower? It finally stopped raining." I looked out the window and realized he was right. It had been raining almost the whole time we had been here, so we had done inside activities, but I longed to breathe in fresh air again. "Sure," I replied, "Let me go change first and then we can leave."
Dan nodded and I picked out a change of clothes and went to go change in the bathroom. I had been in my silk pajamas for most of the day, but now it was almost noon. I should have changed hours ago. I thought. I slid into a black and white striped long sleeved tee that was slightly cropped, and some ripped jeans. I pulled my hair back into a messy yet elegant ponytail and tied the laces on my sneakers. I examined my appearance in the mirror, then blew myself a kiss and walked out to meet Dan.
"You ready?" He asked, slinging his backpack on. "I am, but you're not." I said. Dan furrowed his brow, "What are you talking about Nat?" I eyed his dirty t-shirt and cheeto stained pants. "You are absolutely not going out in that." I snarled. "What's wrong with this?" He asked incredulously. "It's disgusting!" I said, "When's the last time you washed your clothes?" He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, like Friday maybe?" My mouth hung open in disbelief. "F-Friday?" I asked. "Like, the Friday that we got here?" He nodded.
Dan's POV:
Natalie stared at me in disgust. Her mouth hung open slightly, like she wanted to say something, but couldn't find the words. It was cute somehow, and I felt the corner of my mouth turn up slightly. Natalie blinked slowly, then turned and grabbed her credit card off the table. "I'll be back in a minute, don't go anywhere." She said, walking out the door. "Um, ok." I flopped back down on the couch and started playing on my phone.
Half an hour later, and I was bored out of my mind. I turned off the phone and tossed it on the coffee table. "When is she coming backkkkk?" I whined out loud, sliding off the couch to lay on the floor. Just then, the door opened, and Natalie walked in, she had a bazillion shopping bags on her arms. "Seriously, you went shopping?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "Why are you laying on the floor?" She asked in return, setting the bags down.
"Ummm," I stalled, trying to think of something to say that wouldn't make her laugh at me, "I fell?"
"You are seriously stupid Daniel." She said menacingly, but she smiled down at me and held out her hand to help me up. I took it and stood. She was dangerously close to me. My heart sped up.
"Wow, your hands are smooth." I commented, holding her tiny hand in mine and tracing her palm with my finger.
Natalie smiled and giggled softly, entwining our fingers. "Come on, love," She said, pulling me towards the mounds of shopping bags, "Let's find you an at least semi acceptable outfit."
Love?
I think I've started a pattern of having short chapters. I'll try to make the next one longer, but no promises! Thanks for reading guys! Leave a review, if you have any ideas for this story or others, please tell me! I'm always open to suggestions. :)
