It had been a few days since Brax had tried to resolve things between his two middle brothers, and Kyle was being serious when he said he could avoid Heath. They hadn't spoken a single word to each other, making it awkward for their family a couple times over meal times. They didn't know when it would get sorted, they just hoped that it would soon so they wouldn't have to intervene again, knowing that would probably make things worse.

"Why did you have to tell Emily I liked her?" Kyle moans as he leans against the counter. "It's been so awkward when I've seen her since."
"Only because you're making it awkward. She likes you too and if you don't do something about it, she'll go to Canberra and you'll be so annoyed with yourself for not doing something." Casey says. "And it was also Ricky who told her."
"She'll still be moving to Canberra and be with loads of hot guys that she would much rather be with, so would it really matter if I didn't tell her myself?" Kyle says.
"Kyle, just tell her." Casey says. "She normally comes to the boxing class that starts soon, why don't you tag along and talk to her?"
"Nope, I'd rather not embarrass myself."
"She's early." Casey mutters, causing Kyle to freeze on the spot.
"Tell me you're joking?" Kyle quietly says, not wanting to turn around in case she was there.
"Hey guys." She smiles, standing next to Kyle.
"Hey, you here for the boxing class?" Casey asks.
"Yeah, I thought I'd fit one in before I go to a shoot later." She says, turning to Kyle. "Are you joining us today?"
"Uh…" Kyle pauses. "I can't as I've got work."
"That's a shame, maybe next time?"
"Yeah, maybe." Kyle lightly nods, glancing at Casey for help.
"So Emily, you remember me and Ricky telling you about Kyle the other day, he's actually got something he wants to say to you." Casey says to her, grinning at his brother's face.
"Casey!" Kyle glares, feeling put off as they both stare at him, waiting for something to be said. "If this has to be done, then it's being done in private." He says, walking around the counter into the office.
"Told you he'd get embarrassed about it." Casey smirks as he follows him into the office.
"It's cute." She smiles, walking into the office and shutting the door behind her. "What did you want to be done in private?" She asks, tucking some hair behind her ear, which doesn't help Kyle's composure around her.
"I… Oh no!" He whispers to himself, glancing up to see her standing in front of him, wrapping her hand around his neck before passionately kissing him.
"Three words will change everything for me. Are you willing to say them?" She asks, gazing into his eyes.
"It depends what words they are." Kyle says, not knowing which ones she was meaning.
"You know which ones." She giggles. "I've been told them by Casey and Ricky and I can see it in your eyes."
"Okay, I give." Kyle says, not believing he was about to reveal how he felt about her. "I do really like you, but I didn't want to say anything because you're leaving in a few weeks. I don't think it would have worked if we were together and you still left. You can get so many more men that are so much better than me, I wasn't going to tie you down to anything."
"Shut up." She smiles, kissing him again. "That's all I needed to stay here."
"No, you're not staying. You've been looking forward to this for so long, I'm not ruining that for you." Kyle says.
"If I'm being honest, I didn't want this job in Canberra. I was happy here doing small jobs but my parents want me to go and make a life for myself now. I just want to live my life before setting myself up for a job full of chaos and deadlines. They wanted me to lose more weight and be with a guy that I don't even want just so we would look picture perfect in magazines. I don't want that, I want you." Emily says. "So what do you recon? Want to help me ruin my career so I can stay here and do what I want in life, be with who I want in life?"
"Not if you're only saying that." Kyle says, not able to work out if she was being serious or not.
"I'm not just saying it. I've been hoping you would say you liked me before I left so I could use it as an excuse to stay here. If my parents see that I'm happier here, they'll consider letting me stay." Emily says. "You're hotter than any of the guys there, you're real and cute and everything I want!" She grins.
"So Casey wasn't messing with me when he said you wanted me to tell you how I felt?" Kyle asks.
"No, I've been waiting for this moment. You're such a caring and kind guy and I've never had feelings like this for someone before. I'd like to think we could have something special if you didn't have this shy side to you, but it's so hot." She grins as he blushes more. "So what do you recon?"
"How about drinks at Angelo's tonight, then we see where things go?" Kyle asks.
"Sure, how about I meet you there at say, seven?" She suggests.
"Yeah, that sounds great, I'll see you then." Kyle smiles, opening the door up for her so she can get to her boxing class. "Oh and Emily?"
"Yeah?" She asks as she turns to him.
"I wouldn't blame you if you were to 'accidentally' punch Casey for this. Although, I can't really complain, can I?" Kyle smiles.
"I guess not." She winks, walking out to her class, leaving Kyle to get to his shift.

"You're late." Brax says, noticing something different as he stares at Kyle. "And looking pleased with yourself about it."
"Nope, it's because I've got a date with Emily tonight. She's staying in the Bay if she can convince her parents to let her." Kyle smiles as he walks around the bar.
"What about her job in Canberra?" Brax asks.
"She said it's what she never wanted, her parents wanted her to do it and basically didn't give her a choice."
"What about the fact you said you were closing for me tonight?" Brax says, knowing he'd find cover, he just wanted to see what excuse his brother would use.
"You know if I ask Ricky she'll find cover for me." Kyle says.
"Alright, if you think my girlfriend will take your side." Brax says, moving the books to the side for later.
"She knows how much I like Emily, and she was the one who spoke to her with Casey. I bet she'll let me take off early, and then she'd probably cover my shift herself." Kyle says, faintly rolling his eyes.
"So your date is here?" Brax smirks. "You know, I was planning on going through the books tonight to check some things over, maybe I'll do that here."
"No, you can't!" Kyle quickly says, not wanting to be embarrassed in front of Ricky and Brax.
"I own the place, I can do what I want." Brax says.
"I wish I never said to have it here now." Kyle mutters.
"So why did you?"
"Cause I'd be more comfortable here and know I could leave pretty quickly if things went really bad." Kyle says, having thought about it well.
"You wouldn't walk out on a date, not even you're harsh like that." Brax says.
"But she's too good for me, what if I really mess up and she realises how much of an idiot I am?" Kyle moans, now wishing he hadn't agreed to a date as he was already a nervous wreck.
"Just go on this date with her and see if you think things can go further. At least if you try, you'll know more about what you want." Brax says.
"I know I want her, but what if she doesn't want me?"
"She agreed to a date, didn't she?"
"Well, yeah. But that could just have been a pity thing."
"You know I'm only putting this down to the nerves. Five minutes ago you couldn't have been happier, so stop doubting yourself and actually be happy that you've got a date with a girl you've liked for I don't even know how long." Brax smirks. "Now get to work, you were late and now you're leaving early for a date. I could count that as your last strike."
"You haven't even given me my first two warnings, so it wouldn't count anyway." Kyle says.
"Took your time realising that." Brax smirks, confusing Kyle until he worked it out, now knowing he had taken his brother seriously over a joke.
