"So now what?" Nick asked. They were back at ZIA headquarters.
"We need to assess the situation and determine the best course of action." The sound of a fist slamming down onto the table made them all jump. Delphin looked at each of them, his eyes red and puffy.
"Port was a great friend. He was a brilliant scientist and a capable agent. He was only 27. He had his entire life ahead of him. He had a wife and kids. He couldn't have been the next head agent. But those bastards killed him. And under rule 78 of the UNA which states that, should an agent be killed by foreign operatives, then war is declared."
"Now let's not get ahead of ou-" Delphin cut Sorina off.
"No. I've already sent in his death report. As far as we're concerned, the MOIA is at war with these humans." Delphin stood up and walked out of the room.
"Delphin! Wait." Sorina stood up to go, but Judy touched the lynxes arm, stopping her.
"Let him go." She said. Sorina sighed and sat back down.
"Technically, we should be at war with these humans as well," Skye said. "They killed Zootopia Air Force scientists and operatives."
"The director is deciding on the matter as we speak," Jack said, slumping.
"Where do you think they are headed?" Nick asked.
"I don't know. I have no idea how much power, or fuel, or whatever that thing runs on had. The scientists repaired it the best they could. It could explode in space. It could head back to their own planet." Jack said."We just don't know."
"Activate the portal," Sam said.
"Yes, High Admiral," Zak said. Zak pressed a button and his seat moved over to a control panel. He began to flick switches and a dull roar could be heard from the back of the ship, growing larger."
"Portal ready, High Admiral."
"Engage."
Sam looked through the window as a red beam of energy shot from the nose of the ship. After about 1,000 feet, the beam seemed to hit an invisible wall. A red gooey like substance formed a large circle almost a mile wide. The beam disappeared all of the goo except for the edge disappeared. Through the portal, the humans could see the earth, which was mostly gray and brown, its crust cracked, and most of its ocean gone, only a little greenery.
The entire left surrounded by warships, space stations, shuttles, cargo ships, and fighters. Slowly, warships ships all began to turn towards the portal.
"High Admiral Sam!" A voice crackled through the speaker. "Report?"
"Mission Accomplished Admiral Tonee," Sam replied. "My suspicions were correct. Z-00 does in fact have life. Their resources are bountiful and we can use them to sustain th earth for another 1000 years."
A behemoth of a ship pushed through the portal, traveling thousands of lightyears instantly. Sam looked upon the Waverwider, his personal flagship. The ship was the largest ever constructed and was the pearl of the ESEMP. It was over 20 miles long, and 3/4 of a mile wide. Its hull was made out of pure titanium, mined from deepspace asteroids. 2,000 ion bombardment batteries cover its exterior. It could hold 500 troop transports, 1,000 fighters, and over 5,000 explosive drones. It could reach speeds of Mach 30 in an atmosphere, and Mach 40 in space.
One of the ship's huge hangers opened and Sam moved the ship into it, setting down on the holding braces. The doors closed and the hanger was pressurized. Sam was dreading this part. The cockpit blast door opened.
"Oh god!" Sam screamed. He had hoped James's body would have flown out, but it seemed he had had no such luck. James burned and charred body had been skewered through with multiple species of rebar. A giant hole was in his gut. His skull was cracked in half, hanging by only the barest of muscle. His face was disfigured beyond recognition. His red skin steamed.
Sam fell to his knees, his hand hovering in front of James's mutilated body.
"I'll fucking kill them all." He growled. "James, my brother. Your death will not go unavenged." A cleanup crew walked in, their eyes growing wide at the gruesome scene before them. Sam stood up and turned to them, putting on his cold, flat, leader face.
"Inform our parents. Take what is left and preserve it the best you can. Cremate him in the fires of the engines of the ship, then send his ashes to be scattered across The Last Ocean." The crew saluted and began to follow his orders. Zak and Lian walked out of the ship, their eyes avoiding James. They saluted to the High Admiral.
"It was an honor to serve on a mission with you sir," Zak said.
"Same." The Admiral said distractedly. The scientist and the engineer walked off. The Admiral walked onto an elevator and began to rise.
"Initiate the attack," Sam said from his chair on the bridge. Around him, technicians pressed buttons and pulled levers. The pilot grabbed hold of the stick and began to move the ship towards the planet below. They broke through the clouds right above the city called Zootopia.
Sam zeroed in on the building they had been kept in. He hadn't had much of a chance to see it. It was quite a beautiful building. He was almost sad to see it go. The colossal dome sat on a large round center, making it look like the universe's largest mushroom.
"Fire."
They found Delphin staring out one of the large windows of the building.
He sat down on a couch, his head in his hands.
"Delphin," Sorina said gently.
"What?" The dolphin looked up miserably.
"It's been decided."
"We are officially at..." Jack trailed off.
"What, Jack?" Delphin said. All the dolphin heard was a strangled gasp. He looked up and saw the animals were staring open-mouthed out the window.
A red flash suddenly illuminated their faces. Delphin spun around to see the firey red bolt of pure energy heading straight for them.
The building promptly exploded, the dome crumbling in on itself and sending up a large cloud of dust. Sam smiled.
"Send in everything," He said.
Nick coughed and tried to wave away the smoke that was filling his lungs.
He saw the shape of a bunny, outlined by the flames.
"Judy!"
He ran through the smoke and enveloped the rabbit in a hug.
"Ummm, please put me down."
Nick's ears turned red with embarrassment as he set down Jack. Jack wiped himself off. All of the sudden, Delphin and Taylor appeared.
"Where are the girls?" Delphin said. They were surrounded by piles of burning wood. Smoke continued to fill the room.
Suddenly a section of wood burst into kindling. Behind it stood the 3 ladies, their feet stretched out. They brought their legs down from the kick and ran over to the boys.
"You guys look great," Skye said, trying not to laugh. All of the males were covered head to toe in black soot. Meanwhile, the ladies actually did look great, not a speck of ash on their fur.
"We need to get out of here."
Delphin pulled out his phone and typed something. He pressed send and put the phone back in his pocket.
"Who did you just contact?" Judy asked. Delphin blushed.
"An umm... friend. She should be here soon. She'll be able to help." Delphin said, avoiding everyone's eyes.
"She?" Skye asked.
"Yes SHE," Delphin said, exasperated. "Now can we please focus on the fact the building is on fire?"
"This isn't over and we will be having a discussion later," Sorina said.
The animals ran through the opening the ladies made and burst through a set of double doors. They found an elevator room, the walls lined with different elevators going to different places. The only one that was intact led to Level 4, which was the 4th floor from the top. The animals piled on and the elevator began to rise. The building shook.
"Common hurry." Delphin gritted his teeth. They began to go through a glass tube and they could see the huge ship floating over the city, firing the occasional red bolt into it, though none as powerful as the one that had hit the ZIA. They watched in despair as the ship maneuvered itself over city hall. They waited for the city's capital to be obliterated, but suddenly, a deep roar was heard. A whole army of jets shaped like Manta Rays flew overhead. They headed towards the ship and fired multiple missiles. The missiles found their targets, causing multiple small explosions on the ship. A larger Manta-Ray flew overhead and turned back around. It landed on a helipad on Level 4.
Delphin sighed in relief.
The elevator stopped and the doors opened. The animals began to run to the middle of the pad when the building shook and groaned. Judy would have fallen off the side if Nick hadn't caught her at the last minute. The ramp on the Manta Ray ship let down and a female orca shouted to them. They couldn't make it out but her hand gestures made it obvious.
Come on!
The animals stumbled towards the ship. They stepped onto the ramp just as the ship's engines activated once more. The barley had time to sit down before they ran closed and they blasted away from Level 4, which collapsed into the gaping cavern made by the bolt.
"There was almost no-one there, so casualties won't be too hard," Jack said, looking back at the burning ZIA building. Judy noticed more large manta-ray ships down below and saw civilians were being loaded up.
"What's happening?" Judy asked.
The female orca turned her green eyes towards the rabbit.
"Zootopia is lost, for now." The orca said. "We need to head to the Evac zone now."
"Wait!" Nick said. "We don't even know who you are."
The orca turned again. She smiled.
"My name is Pulchra Golden."
Eyes flicked back from a smiling orca to a red dolphin.
"So, Delphin, is she yo_" Sorina was cut off.
"Yes, she's my wife. Anyone have a problem with that?" The dolphin looked angrily around at everyone, daring them to say something.. Then they all(except for the lynxes) burst into laughter.
"Delphin, you do realize that Nick and Judy are married, and Skye and I have been dating for years?"
Delphin's eyes went wide. He blushed again.
"Oh, umm sorry. I honestly thought Nick and Skye were together, while Jack and Judy were together, terribly sorry." Delphin began to mumble.
Pulchra spoke up from the passenger seat.
"Apparently that long nose is useless since he could smell ya'lls marks on each other."
"Hey!" Delphin protested, touching his long snout subconsciously.
"Sit back my friends. We've got a long ride ahead of us, and we still need to discuss quite a bit."
Sam looked down at the burning city. The plan had worked. Sam didn't like to kill without reason. He had waited for people to evacuate before sending in the ground troops to make the city theirs. They saw the Manta Ray fighters fly to the north. They would follow them eventually, but for now, Sam wanted the planet's resources to begin their transfer over to earth. Finally, after all these years, the earth would look like it did when he was a kid. When he and James would play in the woods. Sam shook thoughts of James out of his head. He had no time to grieve. He looked at the Pilot.
"Set us down." He said, walking to the elevator.
The Capitan saluted.
"Yes sir!" She said, Sam nodded as the doors closed and he headed towards the main hangar bay of the ship.
My Lady-Orca! Oh, your beauty makes my heart ache. I hunger for your kisses and for your love, and yours alone.
Now that that's out of the way, hey! Leave your thoughts and comments down below. Hope you enjoyed this chapter as I really had fun with it. The next chapter will be like chapter 5, but for The Waverider. You don't have to read the chapter to get the story, it's more just for fun and it's a good brain exercise.
Bye!
