A/N: Who's ready to learn why Vic is known as the Trickster Dragon.

That's all you're getting, now for responses:

DefinitelyNotOriginal: I don't deserve to live, I wasn't listening to Receive You while writing this.

Azrael - Archangel of Death: Thank you, I hope you continue enjoying this and I obviously will.

Anzafay21: In order, no problem. Good to see a fellow Yakuza fan here. Well he is a Trickster Dragon for a reason. And he'll learn some interesting ones that's for sure. And I will!

TaskFailer: Well, that sounds suspiciously like a 'you' problem.

RaiKiri: Thanks, also its irezumi. I think it directly translates to tattoo but is also its own style. You've seen Kazuma Kiryu's summon in Yakuza 7, it's like that. Thanks, I hope you keep enjoying it.

Who wants chaos~!

Explaining the Codex is difficult. But it's like having a cheat sheet for virtually everything. And all you have to do is look at it once and the Codex will remember it and write it down. She says she enjoys doing it but on occasion I see her going through my memories of places I've been, Mexico, Chicago, Elgin, Texas or carnivals.

She does truly enjoy learning, she loves writing everything down, but I can tell that she wishes to 'spread her wings' so to say.

I would too.

But once I told Azazel he started breathing heavily and ranted about the amount of knowledge I have on my fingers.

He started asking me questions and I answered them perfectly as he became more and more excited. Though he paled as he came to a realisation that I never knew what it was but it must have been horrifying if he was that pale.

Shrugging, I got up and called Yasaka to thank her for having me while she thanked me for protecting Kunou. Then I talked with Kunou who thanked me.

And that's how I became an honorary member of the youkai. Nice.

Come next morning, I find myself cuddling with a beautiful blonde and a sexy cat girl.

Honestly, that's a wonderful sentence to say.

Anyway, I haven't taken Kuroka out. We have had smaller outings in the form of our meditation sessions and some food but nothing really too solid.

Nodding as I resolve myself. I get up but am stopped as I hear, "Mmmh~. Don't leave nya~."

Groaning I turn to Kuroka who's wearing my shirt and rocking it way better than I ever could, "Yeah. But I have to prepare for our date in the afternoon."

She froze as she looked me in the eyes, "Vic, you know I can't be seen."

I could only grin, "What if we hid your hair in a cap, put on a jacket, and hid your presence?"

Her eyes widen as she smiles, "Sure nya~."

I give her a peck on the lips before turning to Le Fay, "And don't think I didn't notice you were awake. I'll take you out somewhere next time we're both free."

She didn't say anything but she dug herself deeper into her pillow out of embarrassment as we chuckled before turning to Kuroka, "How 'bout five? I've gotta do a few things then we can go on a drive to Osaka?"

Kuroka nodded eagerly as I got off the bed and got some clothing as I grabbed my original sweater when I remembered that it was an 'iconic' clothing of Ryutou. Sighing, I grabbed the denim jacket and a black hoodie while getting some baggy blue jeans.

Waving behind me as I exited the room, I took a shower and cleaned myself up before heading downstairs and nodding to Vali and Arthur when I noticed a lack of Azazel, "He had some things to do at the Grigori since you're going to be staying there for the movie."

Turning to Vali as I proceed to start my job as the second cook in the house and I grab the ingredients for a Japanese breakfast, "How'd you know? Never took you as the movie-going type."

"I'm not. But this movie is rumored to be a more 'mature' movie and consecutive show. And considering what the humans have come up, I'm curious as to how they'll do with this one." Vali explains.

"Alright then." I continue cooking as the Codex supplies me with how I could improve the taste as I continued cooking the fish.

After going around Kuoh and talking with the people there and overlooking the situation at Mizuki Holdings, earning more money, and nearly fainting from the amount of zeros in my bank account I was waiting in a park as Ruval greets me, "Good job there 'Trickster Dragon'."

I roll my eyes as I turn to him, "How? I hid my identity and everything."

Ruval looked at me like I was a idiot, which isn't too far from the truth, "Please. You wore the same clothing you wear everyday, the bat was the same one Will gave you, and you're the only one who can fight like that."

Yeah, I didn't think it through. "Well, that's all you're here for?"

"Well, yeah. Congratulating a friend. I've also heard you're coming to the underworld to star in a movie?" Ruval asks.

I nod in confirmation as I continue walking down the street, "Yup. They haven't told me much, just that they need to go over a few things with me to green light the project."

"Yeah. The studio themselves leaked a few of the lines and it seems like it's going to be a more adult-oriented movie. I myself found a few of the situations amusing and interesting." Ruval explained as I nodded along.

"Well, we're going to see how it goes." I say as I lean back on the park bench as snow falls before flinching as a snowflake landed on my eye.

Mentally, I asked Codex how she knew everything she did, especially human subjects and she answered, "Throughout the years, I have been passed down as an heirloom, sometimes as a gift, others I was stolen. But there was one constant, my users all had short lives, whether it be actual lives or how long they stay in their research. So I was passed around a lot. Sadly, I do not know everything. But I can tell you the three sizes of any girl you see."

Shooting up, I mentally asked "Really?"

"Yeah. It's useful for discerning if the person under an armor is a man or woman. Or body doubles."

I nodded in agreement but also in other ways I can use it. Before crushing that train of thought when an idea came to mind.

"What about specific profiles?" I ask in curiosity.

Codex paused before sighing, "You're also a lot more perceptive than some of my other users. Yes. I do have the profiles of some notable figures. I was one of the first Sacred Gears created."

"Wait a second, so you're…" I left the question open as she sighed.

"Yes. I have a lot of knowledge from a long time ago. But you can't use it." She shot down my idea instantly as I sighed.

"If you were to be able to see everything I have in knowledge without having a high enough mental endurance, physical, or mana then you'd lose yourself. With your level, you'd be able to only use it for half a second at best but in that half a second, the universe would be naught but a plaything. Putty in the hands of a toddler at the cost of mentally becoming one."

"Which?" I ask in morbid curiosity.

"Your mind would be that of a toddler's and your body would break and turn into putty while your spirit would be crushed. Something that has happened to many of my previous users."

She seemed sad at that, and I could understand.

But something else was bothering me, "Ruval, I know I'm handsome but please ease up a bit. I'm not into guys."

Ruval rolls his eyes before saying, "So you found out."

"What? The grimoire in my head? Yeah." I respond as Ruval releases a heavy sigh.

"Only you could call one of the original Sacred Gears a grimoire. Listen here and listen well," Ruval turned to me with a serious face, "The Codex is what the term 'knowledge is power' comes from. The amount of knowledge that it has can turn even the weakest of devils into Ultimate-class in a week. The fact that it has a set of rules before it can even be allowed to be used is set into consideration."

"Rules?" I asked as Ruval nodded.

"Yes. Let's say that when you first got it and the person before you could use it then any notes that were written there by the previous user are there but that's it. So anyone would need to gain Codex's permission to make heads or tails of any notes. The rules to gain her permission are simple in theory, the first one is to contribute to the notes themselves, the second one is a sense of curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, a question that must be answered, or all of the above, finally, the user has to make something to use her notes, add something new." Ruval explains.

Nodding, I noticed how I had all of those.

"You may already know as a magician, but any magic circles you have learnt are engraved into your mind for later use. Every single variation. The Codex basically goes through those and makes sure that its user's circles are up to standard and fixes them up if they aren't, provides information you may need, and enhances your own calculating ability. If the Codex were to stop doing all of them then it wouldn't be too different than normal which is why the Codex shines with someone like you."

Pausing, I point to myself to make sure I heard correctly, which I did, I asked, "How?"

"Because you think outside the box. You see a spell and instead of thinking of its intended use, you think of the other uses and how it can be used. You also know how to think on your feet. You are not afraid to mess up and try again. You, Vic, are an ingenious bastard, and that's terrifying." Ruval explains.

We sit in silence before I sigh, "So, what's an original Sacred Gear?"

"I can answer that." A digital voice spoke up as in a flash of light, a sleek and white tablet with a blue screen and white words appeared on it.

Ruval whistled in admiration, "I've been told that the Codex fits its users taste. Quite interesting."

"Thank you, now let me explain what the original Sacred Gears are." As she said that, words passed by the screen as I scooted closer to Ruval to show him as he leaned in.

"The Sacred Gears of Origin. They are the basis for all sacred gears and they're concepts. I myself can be considered a Support-type Sacred Gear. Unlike other Sacred Gears, the Origin-series, as we'll call them now, aren't tied down to the soul of the user and instead are physical concepts that can be connected to the soul. So, let's say my bond with Vic were to be severed, I can reconnect it and the removal of the bond won't kill him. Now, each Origin-type Sacred Gear has a certain specialization. Mine is supporting my user with spells and knowledge, but if say you had the Offense-oriented Original Sacred Gear," pictures of multiple different weapons appeared on the screen, "then a fireball spell that I supplied would pale in comparison, but I'd still have stronger offensive spells. But if you had the Offense-oriented Sacred Gear then those spells could be catastrophic."

"Same thing with the Defense-oriented Original Sacred Gear," shields and gauntlets appear here, "their defensive spells would be better than mine if we used the same one."

Ruval seems to be especially interested as he brought out his phone and was recording the conversation, "There are no weapon limitations so you can wield any weapons you want but so do the others. Now, I say I have a lot of information but that was a lie. When it comes to research, magical or scientific there is no better, but physical techniques like sword techniques or shield techniques are something I don't, no I can't have. But the Defense and Offense-type have many types of techniques and styles but their magical knowledge is intermediate. Kind of like a limiter so none got stronger than the other."

Noddin in understanding, I turn to Ruval as he pauses the recording. I continue, "So the Offense-type would be good at sword techniques and offensive spells while the Defense-type defensive techniques and such."

Ruval continued the recording as Codex said, "Who said the Offense-type was a sword?"

We both paused as we turned to Codex in realization, "The Offense-type and Defense-type Sacred Gear change their form with the Offense-type having the most variation. I myself can only change to my user's wishes but the others can change much more frivolously. The Offense-type can turn into a katana, then a waraxe, then a shotgun. And that's only one possibility. Defense-type is much more restrained, changing from a suit of armor to a shield, even then the variations of shields is impressive."

"So, when you said you were the origin of the Sacred Gears." Ruval started.

"I wasn't kidding. You ask me how to make a bow, arrow, and quiver from anything found in the forest, I can do that. Where you can find what? Also. The basics of a bow? Yeah. But anything more is out of my reach. I've been used by scholars, magicians, engineers, people who tend to be hermits. Not any muscled-brained idiots or people who believe magic power is everything."

I turned to Ruval who scratched the back of his head as I got all the information I needed and he closed his recording.

"Thanks Codex. You're a lifesaver. I hope we get along." I said as I tried to look for a way to hide Codex when she disappeared in a flash.

"Well. I have to give this information to Lord Beelzebub, he will be quite interested in this." Ruval said as he got up, but not before turning to me, "Here. If you're ever in the Underworld and you need my help our doors will always be open."

He opens his hand as he grabs mine and a magic circle appears on the back of my hand with a slight burning sensation, "Show that at the entrance and they should let you in without a problem."

It was a magic circle as I turned to Ruval, "Thanks, I'll see what I can do."

Ruval nodded as he left in a magic circle and I appraised the mark.

"Master. There must be something else you must know."

"Please don't tell me it's not some eternal rivalry or something?" I mentally ask with anxiety.

"No, we are not like Ddraig and Albion. But there must be something you must know about the Evil Piece system that the devils have in place."

"My past users have been trying to crack it. Try to find a way to reverse it so those that are unfairly Reincarnated can return to their normal lives. Like Kuroka."

There was a pause before it connects, "And you want me to crack it so that Kuroka can be removed from her status as a Devil and remove her status as a Stray."

"That's dirty, using someone that I care for to convince me. But," I grin externally before saying, "I like it. Let's do it."

But first, I have to prepare for a date.

I decided to go expensive this time and I went to a high-class store as I looked for something. I knew that neither of us were the extremely expensive type so something simple would be nice.

Browsing the shirts, I noticed a lot of the attendants blushing my way while I sighed.

"Hey Codex. What's with the weird looks?" I ask.

"Well, when you nearly lost yourself in the dragonified state you became something of a half-dragon. But the horns only seem to come out when you're in a supernatural fight. So, for now you only have harder skin, stronger, faster, and enhanced vitality, as you have probably experienced already."

Oh yeah. That was awesome. The way Kuroka looked as I bit into her neck, marking her as mine while I rammed into Le Fay while I ran my left hand through Kuroka's side as I admired every curve like a worshipper would a god while running my right hand around Le Fay's body, mapping every detail like an explorer in uncharted territory.

Wait a second. What was that?

"A secondary effect of being a dragon. You become territorial, far more lustful, violent, prideful, easier to anger and hoard valuables. Though it seems like your lust was what is especially enhanced, you are slightly easier to anger, a lot more territorial, but because of your status as an Eastern half-dragon as opposed to a Western one these impulses are toned down. Now, as for why people are looking at you, that is your Dragon Aura."

"Dragon Aura?" I mentally ask as I look at a pure black shirt but put it back as I continue browsing.

"Yes, it's an aura all dragons release naturally. It's basically a show of strength that usually angers males but attracts women but, again Eastern half-dragon, yours can attract men who are into men and tends to be a lot more agreeable than the Western style. To compare it by witness accounts, a Western dragon's aura is overwhelming and hits into you like a truck, it scares you and forces lesser men into submission, but an Eastern dragon's aura is like water, flowing and calm unless provoked where the calming water leaves ice in your veins and leaves you wishing that you never did what you did to anger it. Eastern dragons are known to be more benevolent than their Western counterparts so their auras tend to attract those of all walks of life." Codex explained.

I mentally thanked Codex as I continued browsing the store when I came to a shirt that piques my interest. It was a white shirt that had a green triangle from the right shoulder to the left waist then back to the right waist through the front and a blue one on the rest of the shirt.

Picking it up and checking the price, I nodded in agreement as I looked for something that might fit the style as I found some normal jeans as I picked those out and a light blue hoodie.

Once I paid and left, I noticed it was nearly time as I went back home and decided to text Kuroka to meet me in the park. Stupid grin on my face as I walked in and greeted Vali, Bikou and Arthur.

They then proceeded to grill me about where I'm going, if I needed someone else there as well, and I'm sure that the necklace worked.

In order, Osaka to walk around, next to us no, but as lookouts, maybe, and I don't know.

And that's how two brain cells in one room of four guys proceeded to check the necklace for any imperfections until it became a full brain when Codex joined in.

Seems like they care for each other, that's good.

I headed upstairs when Vali stops me as he seemed reluctant before sighing, "Kuroka's annoying, clingy, and vulgar. But, she's a part of my team, and my responsibility as well. So, make her happy, if you hurt her in any way or we find out she's in the Underworld's custody and we don't know who did it, we'll come to you for an explanation. If you don't know, we can hunt the bastard together. If it was you, well," Divine Dividing sprouted from his back, "I don't think I have to explain what'll happen. Same goes with Le Fay, but Arthur would beat you up before he asks for an explanation."

He didn't need to explain, but it gives me a warm feeling that they all care for each other, "Understood. Loud and clear. I'll do my best."

Vali nods as he goes back down as I go to my room to wait for the time.

Let's hope this goes okay. But I wonder how Kuroka is doing?

"Ah! What can I wear nya~!?" She is not doing well.

As a fugitive, she can't be seen out in the open, especially in a devil's territory much less in her sister's master's.

She can't face her yet. So she can only use what she has on hand. Thankfully, there are a few places she can go to, she's currently in Kyoto as she tries to find what to wear.

Here, she's only allowed to be in the shadows but there is a common support that she didn't go insane so there are more places she can visit here. A clothing shop being one of them as Le Fay tries to help her.

Tried since she didn't know what to wear since whenever she and Vic went out they'd usually wear everyday clothes. But if Vic's action when they had sex was anything to show, he was a lot more territorial and would rather not have anyone staring at her. So now they were arguing over what she should wear.

"Kuroka. Just wear the jeans! It's cold and Vic likes how you look in them." Wait didn't she have this argument once before?

"But they're so uncomfortable, besides the cold doesn't bother me, nya~." Kuroka argues while the shop owner just looked amused and Le Fay is having a major case of Deja Vu.

The story they were going to sell was that Kuroka, or Kuroko in this case, is a nekomata out on a date with her boyfriend. Simple enough to be safe and with some makeup and a different hair color and style, she'd fit right in. But there were some problems with clothing already.

"But it'll look weird if some girl is going around in shorts in winter." Le Fay tries to explain.

"Yeah, but the Japanese aren't nosy and will look the other way if it doesn't matter to them nya~. Besides it's the middle of January, it's starting to warm up nya~. I can show some skin." Kuroka rebukes.

"Well, what if a supernatural asks you why you're not wearing jeans." Le Fay is trying to cover her bases.

"I'm a Nekomata nya~. I think it'll be fine nya~." Kuroka argues.

Le Fay sighed heavily, "Fine. Let's see what you pick."

Kuroka showed her something that made sense, it was a black spaghetti top with black short-shorts and some heeled boots. She also had a white hoodie that reached her thighs that was obviously male.

Le Fay only sighed as she said, "Fine. let's see how you look in it."

Kuroka brightened as she went to try it out and Le Fay was left to her thoughts. Vic was a wonderful boyfriend making sure to try and pay attention to both of them and she knew that they both had their time with him, Kuroka with her meditation and Le Fay with her magical lessons or cooking, but that didn't stop her from feeling slightly jealous.

"Excuse me for interrupting your thoughts, but are you both dating the same boy?" The shopkeeper asked as Le Fay's face turned into an atomic blush.

"Y-yes." She ended up saying.

The shopkeeper only chuckled, "Feeling jealous?"

Le Fay could only look down in shame as she admitted, "Kinda. I mean I want her to be happy but I also want him to be happy along with her but-ugh! I don't know."

The shopkeeper only laughed, "That's fine. There's nothing wrong with it. But let me ask you, does he favor one of you?"

Le Fay paused to try and look for an answer and found it, "N-no. He doesn't. Occasionally he spends more time with one of us but always remembers in the end. He takes care of both of us."

"Then it's fine. If he does then try to make sure he remembers that you or her are also there." the shopkeep chuckled with a wink as Le Fay blushed.

"I'm done nya~. What do you think nya~?" Kuroka walked out before she stopped and struck a few poses.

The spaghetti top was loose so it showed her voluptuous breast and the short shorts nicely emphasized her waist and hips while the large open hoodie hid it, leaving it tantalizing wondering what she had underneath. The heeled boots also worked nicely.

Le Fay's mind raced as memories of their first time came to mind and she hid her face under her hat out of embarrassment, "I-I think its f-fine."

Le Fay had found out that the female body is as interesting as the male. A wonderful discovery indeed.

Waiting near a tree as I looked around for Kuroka as I stood in my new clothes with my hoodie under a denim jacket and blue jeans.

I took a look around as I tried to find her until I felt someone cover my eyes, "Guess who~ nya~."

"Samantha?" I ask in a joking tone but her grip tightens and I panic, "Kuroko. Obviously Kuroko."

Finally being able to see, I turn as Kuroka pouts at my joke, "That was mean nya~."

Chuckling, I scratched the back of my head, "Sorry."

She perks up with a teasing grin and gives me a kiss on the cheek, "It's fine nya~. Now, let's go to Osaka!"

I finally noticed how Kuroka had her hair up in a ponytail and her pupils were blue and normal instead of yellow and feline. The oversized white hoodie that hid her short-shorts and her spaghetti top and the heels.

Holding her hand, I smile, "You look beautiful."

Her eyes widen as a blush spreads through her face and she pouts, "Not fair if you're so direct nya~."

"Well, being roundabout about it wasn't my style, so, eh." I shrug while hiding my smile.

We got in my car as I entered the driver's seat and she got in through the other side, "So where are we going?"

"Osaka. We'll find something there." I say as i start up the car and music starts playing.

Being raised in America, I obviously know english so that's what's usually playing here. Especially with my own love for R&B, Hip Hop, and rap so I was surprised when i feel bad by blackbear started playing and I bobbed my head to it as I started driving to Osaka.

I let the chorus pass as I start singing, " I said fuck love, fuck life. I'm a fool for you all day and night."

I continued singing as Kuroka laughed and tried to follow the lyrics but she couldn't since she didn't know them to begin with.

"I feel bad~. I don't feel good. I feel bad~. I don't feel- I don't feel good~." I continued the song about heartbreak and toxic relationships. I think.

Continuing my sing-along as we waited for the hour drive while listening to my own songs. We finished i feel bad as my favorite came up.

Crush a bit, little bit

Roll it up, take a hit

Feeling lit, feeling right

Two am, summer night, I don't care

Hand on the wheel

Driving drunk, doing my thang.

I sang my sorrows from my time getting rid of my regrets and regaining my heart while reinforcing my spirit. I didn't know the effect I had on Kuroka as her eyes blanked out and she started singing along.

Tell me what you know about dreamin' (dreamin')

You ain't really know bout nothin' (nothin')

Tell me what you know about the night terrors every night

5 A-M cold sweats, waking up to the sky

Tell me what you know about dreams (dreams)

Tell me what you know about night terrors nothin'

You don't really care about the trials of tomorrow,

Rather lay awake in the bed full of sorrow

Then our passion peaked as we went into the song about living life to its fullest without regrets. Pursuing our own happiness in hopes of finding it while enjoying everything from the mistakes to the victories. We continued singing Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi as we continued driving.

Then, once the song was over, we devolved into a comfortable silence until I felt a warmth on my cheek as Kuroka gave me a kiss on the cheek, "Thank you, for accepting me for who I am."

Turning, I smiled, "Of course, no problem."

She smiled before we continued listening to music and occasionally bursting into song or conversation.

"Hey Kuroka." Kuroka hums in curiosity, "I was wondering, what happened after the, you know, death of the bastard."

Kuroka descends into silence as I start worrying that I messed up but she says, "Nothing much to say, I was declared a SS-rank Stray Devil, and insane as well. My sister was saved by the Gremory heiress and she changed her name. I-I'm not sure I did the right thing."

Staying silent, I let her continue, "Should I have stayed to take the punishment? Or maybe have taken her with me? What could I have done?"

"I think you made the best choice you could have at the time. You took her with you then there would have been two new stray devils and your younger sister wouldn't have a future. Now? She has a future, people that care about her, and security." I say but I noticed how she seemed more uncomfortable at the last word.

"I know, but could I have done better?" She curled up while slightly shivering.

"Probably, but Kuroka, that's the past. You are stronger, smarter, better than then. You fucked up, so make up for it, that's all I can say." I say as silence overcame us. I thought I messed up until she leaned into my shoulder and whispered a 'thank you' as we continued listening to music.

Parking near Osaka, I noticed the similarities to Sotenbori.

God, I hope the sadism club isn't there.

Shivering as I remembered Kazuma with a leather crop and what happened after, I decided to ignore it in favor of looking at Kuroka's star-struck expression.

Chuckling as I grabbed her hand and said, "C'mon, I think I know my way around here. Wanna go get some crab Kuroko?"

Her eyes sparkled as I chuckled, "C'mon."

We walked up Iwao Bridge as a crowd was blocking the way but there was some space, "Can you see anything nya~?"

Me, being the tall motherfucker I am, could see everything, "Yup, a dance battle."

"Ooh, can I see nya~?" Kuroka said as she tried to look over the crowd.

"Sure, let's go." I was also interested since I didn't know dance battles were still a thing.

Once we were able to go deeper into the crowd and give a few glares at hands that got a little bit too close to Kuroka, but didn't pay attention to the hands being aimed at me, good thing Kuroka had that covered.

The dance was impressive as the old lady had some pretty solid moves while the opponent also had some good moves but not to the lady's level.

Finally, the song was over as they struck a pose and the old lady won.

I didn't notice Kuroka's pale visage as she tried to hide but the woman's eyes moved to us for a second before it relaxed, "Well, aren't you two such a cute couple?"

Me, being unprepared for conversion that does not involve insults, could only say, "Ah-uh thanks?"

She came forward and seemed to scan us before she grinned, "I've got it," pointing at me, she continued, "I challenge you to a dance battle!"

There was only silence as they waited for an answer as I took a look at Kuroka's curious eyes and she nodded, "Sure. Just don't be mad when you lose."

She grinned, "Talk's cheap, c'mon boy. Show me your moves."

Soon, I took off my jacket and sweater before tying the hoodie around my hips and giving my jacket to Kuroka.

We were waiting for bets to be made and everyone was betting on the old woman as I stretched to loosen myself up until I heard, "One-hundred thousand yen on the guy."

Kuroka bet for me as I stopped but continued as I had to hold back the stupid grin, "Ah, young love, reminds me of my heydays."

Ignoring her, I ask, "Ready?"

She nodded as the music started and the spirit of a Dancer overtook me.

I was panting in light exertion as I waited for the results.

Finally, the crowd cheered for me, signifying my win as the old lady took it graciously, "That was some good footwork and dancing. But you don't dance much, do ya boy?"

Shaking my head and chuckling, I respond, "Nah."

"Viiic~." My stomach drops and so does my body as Kuroka tackles me and I fall to the floor, "That was awesome!"

I get up as she latches onto my back and travels to my shoulder as she sits on them and looks down on the old lady like an emperor.

"Sorry, I can't stay. I'm kind of on a date." I nodded to Kuroka as she smugly looked up.

"No, it's fine. Sorry for interrupting your date." She waved us away as I continued walking.

Finally, Kuroka gets off my shoulders, "Kuroko, what's wrong?"

"Why is she here?" Kuroka hissed to herself as I gave her a one-armed hug.

"Who was she?" I asked.

"She is a devil. She was also Ruval Phenex's knight." She explains as I turn to the old lady and activate my sensory abilities and find out that her aura is a lot younger than her body shows.

"Ruval? Then it's fine. I don't think they'll say anything. Hopefully. I'll see if I can convince him to not do anything." I explain, not really comforting her but she relaxed.

"C'mon, I promised crab. Let's go get some." I say as I steered her away.

Ruval's call was something I was prepared for. I wasn't prepared for it to be simple. He seems to understand that I would ask for help if I needed it. So, after explaining to him the basics of what happened. He promised not to do anything as long as I promised to explain later.

Kuroka was relaxed once more as we continued exploring Osaka. We went to an arcade and danced as I got her some more food and some crane gifts. I also had to fight off a few jealous teens, don't worry, I held back.

They're not dead, just in extreme pain.

Now, we're at the karaoke place as we were singing again. Thank god they had english options.

Once I finished singing C.R.E.A.M by Wu-Tang Clan. I sat down next to Kuroka as she clapped, "Did I ever tell you that you have a nice voice nya~?"

"Yeah, when you told me about your past." I said as she nodded.

We sat in silence until she went up and picked a song, I nodded to it as I found myself enjoying it as Kuroka sang with her mature voice that drew out each word.

I found myself enraptured by Kuroka as she danced with such a smile and a swing of hips that had me very interested as something bubbled inside me as she kept singing when a darker thought came.

Her moans from our first time came to mind as I remembered how warm it felt. How whole I felt.

Soon, my mind was raging with actual admiration of her singing and dancing and my lust as I tried to control it.

Finally, she winked at me as she finished the song and smiled at me in an affectionate way that made my heart skip a beat.

Fuck it, we have thirty minutes left.

With that thought, I got up and kissed Kuroka deeply as she exclaimed in surprise before she relaxed into it as I grabbed her ass and squeezed it as she moaned into the kiss.

Finally, I leaned back as Kuroka gave me a saucy smirk, "Don't be so impatient nya~. All you had to do was ask~."

Then she unzipped her sweater and raised her spaghetti top as I got a good look at her bare breast as I licked my lips and attacked them, leaving marks on them before going up as I laid her on the couch, "You sure you want to do this here?"

Kuroka only pulled me into a kiss before pulling away, "As long as it's you nya~. I love you nya~. So don't be afraid," she leaned into my ear and bit it before whispering, "do it as hard as you can. Leave me gasping for air and walking with shaky legs nya~."

Goddamnit.

I bit into her neck as I had to control myself not to rip her clothes off and proceeded to take them off bit by bit.

Thirty minutes later, we left the karaoke place and returned to the car in silence, anyone from an outside perspective would say that it didn't go well.

Anyone who was experienced knew that Vic went through with what Kuroka told her to do, now she has to keep it together until they get to the car unless her shaking legs give in in a crowd. Vic only has a smug smirk as she tries to glare at him.

She had to look away blushing until I decided to tease her by slapping her ass. We were getting closer to where I parked the car and we were alone. So, I reared my hand back and released it on her ass as she straightened up and jumped, "Nya~!"

I caught her as her knees gave in when she landed as I tried to hold my laughter. When I looked at her, she was blushing and glaring before she reared her hand back.

"I said I was sorry." I tried to apologize to Kuroka but she just kept pouting and looked away. We were on our way back home as music played in the background softly and my right cheek stung.

Finally, I grabbed her hand and pulled her in before whispering, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that. Would you forgive me, please?"

I heard her whisper something as I drove with one hand, "Hm?"

"Only if you promise that we can do this again someday nya~." She says as she looks at me with hopeful eyes.

"Definitely." I responded while giving her a kiss on the forehead as we continued our way back home.

I'm currently wearing my Ryutou clothes as I sit in a room with Azazel, "This is Ryutou. A new agent of the Grigori."

I'm sitting next to Azazel as he introduces me to his leaders. First, there's his secretary, Penemue with purple hair and strong eyes with large breasts. Second, there's Baraqiel who looked like a middle-age, gruff-looking man with black hair and a matching beard with a muscular body. Shemhazai looks like a man in his twenties with silver hair, purple eyes, and wears a beret hat with a purple trench coat over a black vest, white pants, and black boots.

Then there was Kokabiel, I didn't like him. Pasty-ass bitch. Oh, he can tell I'm insulting him, so I flick him off as his brow twitches. Azazel smacks the back of my head so I flick him off too, "As you can tell, he's very interesting."

Sighing, I resign myself, "Hello, my name is blacked out so call me Ryutou. I enjoy listening to music."

I left it at that since I really just wanted to leave, "Where did you come across him?" Shemhazai asked as I knew that this was gonna take a while.

So, I bring out Codex as a white pen appears on my right hand as I start looking at the compiled notes on the Peerage system. First, there's the discontinued 'King' piece. It can increase the user's demonic energy from ten to a hundred times the original strength. This piece would be connected to the chess-inspired Evil Pieces but has been abandoned in favor of infusing the pieces with the King's demonic energy.

Now, each piece has to have a way to transfer the original soul to a devil. But how? Reincarnation. The process can be done in the brink of death or when alive with consent. But, what's stopping a devil from reincarnating someone like Hercules or Merlin? Simple, it seems like devils can't reincarnate beings stronger than the King. And it seems like there's a limit to how long passes before someone can be reincarnated. Oh, and the different pantheons too.

So, the million-dollar question. How does the soul turn into a half-devil?

I looked over the notes that were there as I sat down next to Penemue who seemed interested, "Whatcha doin'?"

"Trying to find out what the soul of a devil would look like." I bit my lip as I continued looking over the notes.

Finally, I found a description of the soul of a devil. Or their lack of one. When devils, or angels, die, it is believed that they enter a state called Purgatory. Their soul exists since the Sephiroth Graal can bring devils back, and you can't bring something back that doesn't exist. So, they probably enter a state called Purgatory, what happens after is a mystery.

"Devils, Fallen, and angels don't have 'souls' the same way humans do." Penemue explains as I nod.

Seems like the 'soul' of a devil is dark and that's it. So, now how does one turn a soul into a devil? Obviously, you have to make sure the container can take the power being pumped into it so the first thing it does is increase the container's strength depending on the piece being used, Rook make you into a tank, Knight a hit-and-run specialist, Bishop a glass cannon, Queen improves all of the above while pawns do the same but to a lesser level.

Right, the container can now take the power being poured into it, now how does the soul become a devil's soul? When it's alive? When it's dead?

Let's go with the notes when being reincarnated when dead. Once the subject is reincarnated, any physical damage done is healed. But if a Sacred Gear is taken out and then they are reincarnated they will still die. Now, the soul of a human is corrupted and becomes a reincarnated devil. But how?

Opening up a page while keeping another with the information compiled, I started making theories. When it hits me.

The newer Evil Pieces bind the King's demonic energy to a piece. So, inserting an evil piece doesn't change the body first, but the soul, then the body. And in death, the soul is weaker so it can go around the consent requirements and bind the king's demonic energy to the soul, corrupting it and have it become a devil.

So, there is a magic circle needed for when the subject is alive. The consent willingly weakens a soul's defenses and the magic circle smooths the process. Again, demonic energy corrupts the soul, Reincarnated Devil.

Now, how do we reverse it? Safely, might I add.

Let's go the blunt route for now, purification. Use Holy energy to get rid of the Demonic energy. But then comes the problem. Devils are weak to Holy Light and will die when exposed for an extended amount of time.

And we need to find a way for the Evil Piece to come out unscathed. Though, since Kuroka is my main goal that won't be needed since I don't care what happens to the bastard's Evil Pieces.

In the end, the transformation is a contract. The Reincarnated Devils are given power and status while giving eternal servitude to their King.

If the King dies, the contract is broken and the servants are released to do what they want. But if a servant kills a King without a good reason, their power turns them into a Stray Devil. The pieces also stay in the Reincarnated Devils. When they want to join another peerage, the Evil Pieces required are inserted and the original are released and the original power is replaced.

So, how do we remove the taint of a devil? Purifying the soul. But it hurts the devils on a physical level. What about a spiritual level?

That's when it hits me.

Ki. Use holy ki to purify the soul and heal it while it's being harmed.

Can it work?

I circled the solution and added question marks around it.

Opening a new page, I start writing down everything I know about what we'll need for an experiment.

Right, now I have a hypothesis. Now, we need to have a willing, sturdy, and strong subject to experiment it on. Multiple different species to see any difference. But this experiment has a flaw. Reincarnated Devils that were already Devils before will be hurt by the process. But that's easier in a way. We have to find a way to separate the King's demonic energy from the devil's original energy.

For now, this is for non-devil reincarnated devils.

I continue writing the details down as I notice the silence the room's in, "What?"

Azazel only asked, "Kid, what are you doing?"

"Trying to find a way to turn a Reincarnated Devil back into their original species. Very crudely, might I add." Azazel's eyes widen as he takes Codex away from me and looks over my notes and so do the others.

"Kid, we were talking for half an hour, how?" Azazel was amazed.

There was only silence until I just shrugged, "Older notes." they already knew about the Codex.

Again. Silence blanketed the area until Azazel asked, "So, you sure you don't want to come to the R&D section?"

I obviously refused. Research and development aren't my cup of tea. I like chaos more. Fights!

Anyway, now I'm in front of the director for the movie as he's laying it all out for me.

It's basically my origin story with more sauce to it. I was born into a normal family but one day the devil mafia, which is still called the mafia here, was in my family and I was trained in martial arts and magic. Where I would then fight my way to the top of the food chain with the weakest being the first then the show would go into the others.

I agreed with it so we proceeded to go over the entire thing as I pointed out things I would never say.

By the time it was becoming midnight, he told me that he should have the first half of the movie by tomorrow afternoon. But there's no sun here so my internal clock is pretty fucked, thank god for my watch.

It's going to start with a shot of 'me' growing up with interest in martial arts and the training.

Now, I have some time to do what I want before I'm called up. So I call Noah.

"Motherfucker, where do you live?"

I could hear Noah's disappointment, "Can you at least tone down your cursing? Grayfia will kill you."

"Yeah, fine. Not like I curse much to begin with." I say as I shrug.

"A la chingada madre." I curse as I stare at the mansion and the amount of maids and butlers standing there, bowed.

"Believe it or not, the recording of your fight made you quite popular. Especially your fight against Igarashi." Noah explained as he led me inside, "Not many can go toe-to-toe with an Ultimate-class opponent, and reports show that you held him off using magic

I was still shocked at the absolute size of this place as Noah talked about the Gremory lands and the size being a few cities.

"What the hell?" I cursed as I continued walking as I noticed Noah's change in standing as he straightened his back and schooled his face.

"Now, I must ask that you behave yourself in front of the young master. Wouldn't want him to pick up any more of your uncouth habits." Noah said with a steady tone.

Snorting, I retorted, "Don't act like you don't have these same 'uncouth habits'." I mocked as I saw his lip twitch for a second.

Then, we were in front of a large door. Soon, he knocked on the door, "I'm coming in."

When the door was open, I looked in to see a mature brown-haired woman with a voluptuous body and warm violet eyes. There was also a man with red hair and a goatee and a white suit as they turned to see me.

"Lady and Lord Gremory. Ryutou has arrived." Noah bowed but I kept my guard up.

The woman, her ki is glaring at me. It wants to destroy. I gulped as Codex supplied me with information. The Power of Destruction. The Bael Clan's specialty.

Zoeticus, on the other hand, didn't give me the same all-encompassing feel his wife gives me. But it's similar that it has goosebumps crawling up my arms.

Their eyes were impassive as we stared at each other when I noticed my touki subconsciously activated, "Well, this is awkward."

I deactivated my touki as I gave a slight bow, "Sorry for that, didn't mean to do that."

They also relaxed before Zeoticus spoke up, "It's fine, no harm no foul. My name is Zeoticus Gremory, Ryutou-san."

"Just Ryutou. I was originally from America, so I can do without the honorifics." I explained as their surprise was visible.

"Apologies, my name is Venelana Gremory." The woman said while bowing slightly.

"It's fine, I can understand why." I wave her worries away as I finally notice the little kid.

He was staring at me with wide eyes and stars in his eyes, "So, I'm guessing you're the one Noah told me about. He never gave me your name, so why don't you tell me?"

He was playing with blocks and stood up quickly but knocked into his building as it fell.

Three meters? Yeah. Doable.

Less than a second later with pure speed and skill I grabbed the amalgamation of blocks and the kid's arm who was tripping from overbalance, "Careful now. You worked hard on this."

I carefully set it back before letting go of the kid as he straightened with a blush, "A-Ah. My name is Millicas Gremory," he bowed respectfully, "Its an honor."

Tilting my head, I nod, "Same, you already know me, Ryutou. So call me that."

"O-of course, Ryutou-sama." Millicas stuttered.

"No honorifics Millicas, can I call you that?" He nods as I continue, "I'm not Japanese or someone of high-standing."

"Really? But your name is Japanese?" Millicas asks as I grabbed the bottom of my mask and tilted it to show my jaw, grin and skin color.

"Last I checked, Japanese usually aren't this tanned." Millicas nodded in understanding.

"So, do you want to ask something? I heard you thought I was cool." I reset the mask as Millicas blushed as I snorted.

"It's fine, nothing to be ashamed about, actually." I waved him to me as he got closer, "I also loved martial arts movies too. Though Jackie Chan and anime are the only things I've seen that are good enough."

His eyes seemed to widen as he nodded, "And your magic, it was so creative, how did you do it?"

The reason my interlocking circles are such an accomplishment for a human magician is that the equation needed would have to be sectioned in a way that would allow for both sections to work separately and not interrupt each other. In theory, it's simple, especially with elemental magic. But interlocking Silver Lining with a lightning attribute to work like a taser and having the junctions continue the movement to the end takes a lot of variables. Keeping the stream of lightning stable, timing, and making sure the silver string is reinforced are some of them.

Add in the fact that Codex has already looked over the equations and fixed any problems.

"Traps. Lots of them. And training." I explained in my favorite vague way.

"Then how strong are you?" Millicas asked.

Without missing a beat, "You mom could kick my-ow!" I felt someone smack the back of my head and I noticed Noah was a little bit closer.

"Kick your what?" Millicas, you poor innocent child.

"Beat me up. She would beat me up. Maybe one or three hits in but I'd lose, or win." I shrug.

"My~, thank you." Venelana said while putting a hand to her chin.

"Your father I may be able to beat, but that's a big maybe." I say.

Zeoticus brought his head back in a laugh, "Sadly, I'd lose if I was honest. Your weapons are quite interesting but your speed would probably overtake mine."

My only retort was, "I know experience when I see it. And you, sir, have a lot of it."

Zeoticus seems surprised but I turn back, "Well, do you have a sister?"

"No, but I do have an aunt. Aunt Rias." Oh-kay.

"I'd win, definitely." I told Millicas.

He seemed surprised, "How?"

"The Bael have their power of Destruction, right?" I turn to Venelana who nods her head before I continue, "She's probably a teen without much experience or physical training. So, Noah, help me here." I signal for Noah to stand on one side of the room.

"How long does it take for the Power of Destruction to be released?" I get a mental answer before the vocal one.

Almost instant with training, "Then, Noah, try to throw a spell at me with the same time."

Noah nods as a magic circle appears on his hand, "Millicas, give the word."

"R-Right, read-!"

I was already behind Noah, who was portraying 'Rias' and raising a leg in a hook kick to the back of Noah's head but stopped before it hit.

"That's why. All due respect to her parents, Rias was raised like the Gremory, passionate and charging in?" Venelana gave a pointed stare at her husband who looked away sheepishly, "Then she'd respect rules. Sadly, the other side may not. Besides, I'm faster than her, but if her peerage was there then maybe it would be a different story." I lowered my leg as I looked at Millicas, "A fight is never only a matter of who's stronger. Where is the fight? Are you outnumbered? What do you know? How can you use it? These are all questions you should ask."

There was only silence until Millicas exclaimed, "That was awesome! Can you teach me how to do that?"

I could tell he understood, but what I did was awesome, "Sure, it took me three years to get me this strong."

Zeoticus looked surprised and so did Venelana, "Three years?"

"In outside time. It was probably longer. And there were a lot of broken bones involved, a lot of pain especially." I explained.

Noah nodded in agreement as he sent a backfist to my head as I blocked it with my right palm as I swept his leg and pushed him to the floor as he pulled me in and released a kick to my face as I blocked it with my forearm.

"Then there's also the fact that in the middle of fights," I pulled him in as I hooked my legs around his arm and fell as I threatened to pull and he tapped me as we got off of each other, "fancy techniques are out of the window and you develop tunnel vision."

Millicas seemed interesting, "Then, what do you suggest?"

"Grapples, good enough for what you need, hurtful enough to do damage." I say.

We continued the conversation and had fun playing with blocks until it was time to leave since my part was up for the movie.

And I didn't curse once. Who would have thought?

Shitshitshitshit. Too soon.

I slid on ice as I continued the motion and kicked off the floor as I curled and broke through the window towards the possibility of freedom.

Now, what happened?

"Shit." I mumbled as I came back to the room and noticed a familiar aura in the room.

When I opened the door I noticed the grey haired maid that was at the ramen stand a few weeks ago, "Hello."

She turns to me and gets up, "Hello Ryutou-sama," she bows before straightening, "My name is Grayfia Lucifuge, I didn't know you were here. Please, let me get something for you to drink."

"Nah, it's fine. I have to get going already, wish I could stay here longer but," I shrug, "what can ya do."

She nods in understanding, "Then, let me see you off at least."

That's when Millicas entered from his trip to the bathroom, "It's fine, just spend your time with your wonderful son."

I lowered my hand and ruffled his hair, "Raised him well, wouldn't mind coming around to play with him sometimes."

"I will take it into consideration, then Noah will see you off." I nodded and started to close the door when I heard something fall to the ground, the building of blocks we made.

The adults were going to comfort him but Millicas said, "Ah, shit." The door closed completely and me and Noah stood in fear as we turned to each other but I was younger and faster.

I pushed him as he stumbled and the door exploded and reinforcement magic with touki flared and Codex told me one thing.

'RUN!'

So I did that.

Now, I'm in the air as I turn and block spears of ice and I'm brought back as I land in the middle of the forest in a clearing.

Getting up, I evaluate my situation. I can't hurt her badly, she didn't do anything wrong, if I do, I'll be hunted worse than I already am.

My eyes widen as I quickstep to the side and find the area I was in destroyed.

There was Venelana. Standing on the other side, "My~, I seem to have missed, don't worry," her aura becomes menacing, "I won't miss a second time."

"CODEX!" I internally yell as I hear Codex laughing.

"Here. These should help."

I'm supplied with three magic circles. Wait, shit. I have to reform them so they'll fit in my personal magic circle.

Easy enough, should take less than a minute.

I kick off a magic circle as the area I was in is frozen solid.

Do I even have seconds?

Blurring at speeds unimaginable to the normal person I run from them.

Finally, I finish changing the magic circles to my own as I point at the Grayfia and activate the circle as a loud sound and light confuses her for a second, interrupting her aim.

"The Underworld is constantly dark since Devils are creatures of darkness. They're used to the darkness. But flash a light strong enough to nearly blind a normal person with a loud sound, they'll be dazed for a few seconds. Now, run!"

Doing as she told me too I aim at Venelana and she flinches like Grayfia as my phone rings and I continue running, "Hey, Vic. Are ya busy?"

Putting up a defensive magic circle, I block chunks of ice but they break after the first hit but I move before the second one can land, "No~. Actually, I'm at home," slide under a beam of Power of Destruction, "laying in bed," kick off a tree to evade the ice and cartwheel to evade the destructive red beam, "watching TV."

There's silence on the other side of the call until Ruval said, "Sure doesn't sound like it."

I place my hand on the ground as a magic circle is placed there and it takes effect as an earth wall is raised and takes the ice, "Of course it fucking doesn't!"

Continuing my escape as I hide my presence, a trick Bikou's book had, and prepare the third magic circle as I run to a divergence in the path I was following and go to the left as I continue running but place the illusion conjured by the third circle behind me as I hear yelling on the opposite path.

They thought I hid my presence and went through the right path instead of the left path where my illusion was going.

Big brain plays.

Fuck, I remember I still have Ruval in a call as I whisper, "Look man, I need somewhere to stay to lay low. I'll be there in a bit, just give me like an hour or less. I have to do something real quick."

"Sure, I'll tell the maids to be prepared." Ruval responds.

"No, tell your peerage members to patrol the forests," Millicas taught me that the Phenex territory has a forest in the back. But it's far from their estate but near the edge of the Gremory territory, and my speed nearly brought me here but a message came from Noah and all it said was 'you have 30 minutes.' "They can teleport me once I'm there. Can't talk much longer, see ya."

I stop as I see an abandoned town. It had a cell tower and an electrical tower.

Hmmm.

I run into the general department store as I look for what I need.

"Codex, give me details on Devil towns. Everything. We're about to turn this whole place into a battle ground."

I felt Codex's sigh, "Fine. Now, where do you want to start?"

"Sewers."

"The sewer system does in fact lead to the forest near the Phenex territory. I can show you the way there once we're there. Anything else?"

Green magical glow sticks, green glow in the dark magic paint, frosted acrylic with the same consistency of paper, tape and string.

"What sound level is it that humans start experiencing hallucinations like chills?"

"The middle of the audio range."

I run around and find speakers as I summon Codex and connect them to her while also connecting to all the stores' PA systems.

"What about how to make slingshots?"

"... Okay, what are you planning?" Codex asks.

I grin, "Just wait and see."

Half an hour is left before an hour has passed and the Underworld TVs all were interrupted by a broadcast as crisp camera shots appear as broadcasters start speculating what's happening.

Vic is in an undisclosed location as the blue light of Codex shows his fox mask as he grins under the mask. Unknown that someone else is broadcasting what's happening in the town.

Soon, Grayfia and Venelana, somehow still angry, landed on the town in the Gremory territory that was going to be open soon.

And the trap was set.

A magic circle glowed white as Grayfia's eyes widened and so did Venelana's.

This was a magic circle that could seal a devil's clan traits.

They were weakened but still had strength as Grayfia clicked her tongue, "Just how much power is he hiding?"

Her back chilled as she extended a hand as ice spears spread and hit the building. Their magic was still fine but weakened.

Another chill and another spear on a building.

Then a voice was heard, "Well, seems like I've caught something."

Then a yelp was heard as Grayfia's eyes widened, "Venelana-sama!"

"I'm fine, just felt some water hit me." Then the lights went out.

They could still see in the dark as devils, though…

What's that smell?

She couldn't think of it as water doused them from a distance away.

Her skin chilled again as lights blinked in the direction and she sent a pillar of ice in that direction again and again until the town nearly looked like winter had come early but with ice instead of snow as her instincts went haywire.

Wait, why is she cold?

Magic has a safeguard against their user. So anything created by the user will not affect the user. So if a fireball were to be thrown at its user it wouldn't have any effect if the user is a devil. Humans can also do this but it takes too much mana to do it.

But, things outside the user's control can be affected. Like, let's say the water on Grayfia's clothes.

The cold being produced by the ice is being transferred to the wet clothing and making her uncomfortably cold as she's shivering. Devil's can't get sick normally but cold does affect them to a certain extent. More water hits her as she tries to leave but stumbles to her knees as she feels sick. The chills are everywhere, her ears are ringing, the cold is biting her skin, her instincts are going haywire and the smell is making her nauseous.

Then, light flares and blinks in the dark town as she starts feeling blind and the feeling of nausea increases. That's when she feels it. The string.

Silver Lining. They fell into his trap.

She could see the magic junctions and the silver glint in the light as she found herself caught.

Soon, something is raised and she sees red. There, being hung around a string, is an unconscious Venelana. With a roar she aimed a pillar of ice at it and a red beam hit the ice as the sound stopped, so did the chills and the lights came back, "Well done."

"You bas-huh?" Two voices said the same thing.

There, a small distance away is Venelana who also looked worse for wear.

Grayfia quickly rebalanced herself, "Why are you here? How are you powerful enough to invoke that magic circle."

A TV screen turns on and there are Venelana and Grayfia before they hear his voice and see his masked face, "Well~, you've been pranked."

They could only pause before they unisonly said, "Huh?"

I laugh as I turn the tablet to show where I am. In the edge of the forest if the map is to be believed.

"Yup. I escaped through the sewer tunnel while all the chaos was going on." I explained before I turned it so it was facing me again.

"B-but, what about the circle? Even a devil would have trouble invoking trap magic from the distance." Grayfia stuttered.

"Who said I used magic?" Ryutou asked as they stiffened in realization while Venelana tested her Power of Destruction and found it working.

"B-but how?" Venelana stuttered.

"Grayfia, check where you're standing under."

Wait, if I'm correct, one of the magic circles needed to complete the bigger magic circle is right where I'm standing at.

She looked down and noticed the light coming from under her heel before she crouched and removed the paper-like frosted acrylic over it.

"No way." It was a magical glow stick and paint.

The way they work is that they're tied to a person and the person can control the brightness with their mana. He used the bright light to make it seem like the magic circle was being invoked and trick them.

"Yup, not to bring up bad memories, but when you participated in the Civil War, these were used to weaken devils of the Seventy-Two Pillars. Participating in war digs the belief 'always expect the worst' in your mind, so when you saw the light in a familiar pattern, you believed that your traits were already sealed and didn't care to check."

Then, she went around and removed some more and found some of the same. Magical glow sticks and paint. All vaguely painted like Ryutou's magic circles with the plastic above it.

"I placed those all around the town and painted the strings silver to make it look like Silver Lining to your dizzy minds, the person you saw in the string was a mannequin with an illusion cast over it."

I'm ashamed I didn't notice.

"Wait, what about the chills, or the smell? What was that for?" Venelana asked.

They could feel his grin, "Sensory overload. Devils have better senses than the average human, moreso devils like you two. Now, all I had to do was set up a few speakers so they release a sound at the level that can force an instinct feeling and chills. The water was thrown so your sense of touch would be affected by the cold that your ice produced, your sense of smell was overwhelmed by the smell, the ringing in your ear was caused by more speakers, and when the lights were out, the flashing lights added to it as your brain tried to take in all the details. Thank god for the similarities between the brain of a human and a devil."

It hit them, and it hit them hard. They were brought to their knees without having the opponent use magic much less physically be there for it. Their own bodies were used against them. No mind tricks or anything. Just understanding of the brain and psychology.

That was the day a panic was spread among the supernatural communities. Grayfia was known as a contender for the spot of Satan and the Ultimate Queen while Venelana was known as the Brunette Ruin Princess.

It was at that moment that the Devils came to a realization. Should Ryutou be turned into a devil they'd be guaranteed wins(Ryutou would argue but he'd be ignored).

Give him a bishop piece and his magic would be stronger and his unorthodox tactics would belong to them. A rook and his already monstrous strength would grow. A knight and his speeds would be unmatched. A queen and he'd simply be unbeatable. Even a pawn would make him a credible threat.

Yet a secondary thought spread as well but it was ignored to keep the peace. What's stopping others from taking advantage of this? So the broadcast was cut off prematurely. The broadcaster only grinned.

Jackets fell on top of them as they looked at Ryutou's masked face, "Sorry. I didn't know Millicas was there. I should have paid more attention. Please accept my sincere apologies."

He bowed as he waited for their answers, an answer that was given, "No, we should apologize. We shouldn't have gotten so violent over it."

Both Grayfia and Venelana bowed in apology as Ryutou sighed, "It's fine, I can understand. So, next time I'm here, why don't I try cooking something, as an apology."

They smiled, "Sure, maybe next time we can see the face under the mask."

"Maybe. Well, I've gotta go. See ya." Ryutou says as his face leaves the screen.

"This is BULLSHIT!" I heard Codex roar once the transmission was over and she blinked out of existence.

My mana was somewhat drained but I had about three-fourths left.

"What?" I say but couldn't hide my grin as I changed into a white hoodie, blue baggy jeans and blue shirt with the silver watch while removing the mask and hiding it with my bat and knife.

"You forced Grayfia fucking Lucifige to her knees using nothing but knowledge of the human brain, smelly objects, speakers, glow sticks, paint, frosted acrylic, a mannequin, an illusion, her own fucking ice, water, and slingshots. How?" Codex whined with an incredulous tone.

"Simple, it all started when they entered the town, they were on guard and didn't have the time to wonder how I could do the magic circle and instead rolled with it. If you worry about your opponent's next move too much you won't be able to make yours." I finish changing and start walking as I place my hands in my pockets. "I then manipulated the speakers to instinctively force her on guard so everything was on high alert since she believed me to be a stronger opponent than I actually was, I then would raise the volume in spurts, mimicking the chill of instincts, and forcing her to spread ice before aiming some water at Venelana which distracted Grayfia long enough to land some water on her and cut the lights."

I put on my headphones in preparation to listen to music while walking and talking since her voice is heard over my music, "Around this time we started going through the sewers so I could still use the magic we used to pull back the slingshots. Now the smell was already affecting her, the sound was done more frequently in short bursts so the chill were everywhere to her and she thought it was me, and with my speed it could have been, and the cold created from her ice magic messed with the water in her clothes, making it colder and messing with her instincts and sense of touch. Soon, the lights start blinking, messing with her sense of sight, and the loose string would tighten as it emulated Silver Lining, making it seem like they were trapped in their dizzy minds. The illusion and mannequin were there for extra effect."

We were on our way to the Phenex forest as silence overtook the connection. Until I played Heat Waves by Glass Animals.

"So, you're fucking telling me, that you, someone who hasn't been in the supernatural for that long, forced an Ultimate-class devil who can contest with the Leviathan to her knees. Something that not even some of my past users could do when they had nearly all the access to my knowledge. And you did it using next to no magic circles. You didn't even fight."

Humming for a bit before answering, "Yeah, that sounds about right."

"What the FUCK!? I have an entire entry dedicated to Grayfia, the new Four Satans, the Old Four Satans, and Pillars. And what do you do? What do you do having all this wealth of knowledge including magic-level, physical strength, speed, and weaknesses? What do you do? You ask how to make something smell worse."

I start laughing as she continues ranting, "The strongest of my users could manipulate reality itself for three seconds. You know how long he lasted against Grayfia? One minute. One. But you, who won't even be able to use my true power for one second, brought her to her knees without actually being there and without using magic."

This continues until we are found by one of Ruval's peerage members and escorted to the estate once I show the mark Ruval gave me.

"What a terrifying opponent. Trickster Dragon indeed." Albion said from his exposed wings from Vali's back as he takes in the reactions of the people in the room with amusement.

Azazel was back home and he was pouring tea when the TV started showing recordings from Grayfia's fight. He hasn't stopped pouring tea and it's on his lap. Le Fay was staring with nothing less than surprise, and some arousal, as the video continued. Arthur dropped his cup in his lap. Kuroka had her mouth hanging with some arousal as well. Bikou was wide-eyed and wasn't smirking for once. Vali was shocked and excited.

Albion also understood the underlying message. Supernatural creatures are physically stronger, and have better senses than normal humans. But here, someone used those 'advantages' and turned them into disadvantages.

Albion could only shiver at the monster that has been introduced. Physically stronger than even some high-class devils without enhancements, high mana levels, a brilliant and innovative mind, touki, Senjutsu, faster than mid-class knights without enhancements, tactical mind, monstrous endurance, a master hand-to-hand combatant, proficient weapon user, dirty fighter, the amount of knowledge the Codex gives him access to, and can be quiet when needed.

Finally, their stupor was broken as Bikou said, "What the fuck!?"

Azazel and Arthur finally noticed the hot tea on their laps, Le Fay went for a towel for Arthur, Kuroka just looked around for confirmation on what she saw and Vali shook himself out of his own stupor.

What an interesting Dragon. Instead of using overwhelming power to defeat his opponents, he uses his mind and knowledge before falling back to his strength.

I'm in Ruval's room as we're alone and Ruval waves a hand and a magic circle encircles both of us.

Finally, Ruval inhales deeply before abruptly slamming his hands on the table, "Wha-? How the FUCK!?"

"What are you talking about?" I ask genuinely confused.

Ruval brought out his phone and showed me the video, "So, this wasn't you?"

My throat felt dry as I gulped as I looked at the recording of my 'encounter' with Grayfia and Venelana, "So, you didn't record this?" Ruval asked sarcastically.

"No, I didn't. I was looking to get away and cool them down, not this!" I pointed at the video, "I didn't want to embarrass them on Underworld TV! Neither of them deserve that."

I have a strict code when it comes to embarrassing and pranking people. Never discriminate, everyone has equally hilarious reactions. Never record something that could have the victim break down or when the victim is a good person, and only record small pranks if that's the case. Never prank someone if they don't deserve it. Never record pranking someone when they're angry if their anger is justified. And make sure that if they look back on it they can laugh or hunt me down after laughing about it.

"So," Ruval started, "who broadcasted it?"

Yeah, who would broadcast some of the strongest figures in a faction being brought down without having the opponent be there physically, use next to no magic, and use their own physiology against them.

That was sarcasm, "Well, devils sure as hell ain't saints. It would be a great blow against the Devils if someone like Grayfia is brought down in an unorthodox way. But it brings up a fatal weakness of every supernatural creature. Something that no one wants to admit."

Ruval sits on his sofa as he realizes it as well, "Our brains."

Nodding, I continued, "Like a human brain. A devil's brain is accustomed to the enhanced senses, but because of that, what would bother a human."

"Could hurt a devil." Ruval finishes.

"It's worse for battle-hardened veterans who tend to open their senses to their limit to make sure they win or survive." I continue, "You go out there, go to a meeting, it will be about putting me down. Not about the weakness that they've found in what makes them superior to humans, but they don't want to admit it. They won't take my words on my 'morals' because it won't advance their own schedules. They'll force me to be in the servitude of some devil. Well, not unless they want the Fallen on their asses."

Silence pervaded in their space before Ruval interrupted, "I'll vouch for you. See what that can do."

"No, maybe once my identity becomes public, but before that and they'll have you tailed to see who you interact with, they'll then inspect them and they'll find her. I appreciate it but it'll cause more harm than good." I explain.

Ruval bites his lip, "What a friend huh? Can't even help you when you need it the most."

Shaking my head, I say, "Dude, it's fine. The fact that you're helping with Mizuki Holdings and keeping my secrets is good enough."

Ruval didn't seem to believe me but sighed deeply, "Right. Back on track. Can't be the angels. We'd know if they were here."

"Then Fallen, who wins if the devils seem weaker?" I ask.

"Well, Kokabiel maybe? He is a warmonger, one of the few who wanted to keep the war going on the Fallen side. High enough in the pecking order to have subordinates spy on you." Ruval explains.

I click my tongue, "Well, I can't do much. I tell Azazel and he can only confront Kokabiel who'll obviously lie about it. I don't know who the subordinate was so neither I or Azazel can confront them. The only thing I can do is walk with a cautious step."

We sit in silence before we hear knocks on the door, "Big brother, are you okay, we felt some magic and it went quiet."

The magic circle sputters out as Ruval responds, "It's fine Ravel, why don't you come in and greet our guest."

The door opens as Ravel walks in while bowing, "Ravel Phenex of the Phenex Clan greets you. I hope the hospitality has bee-."

Ah, she straightened and saw who it was, "YOU!"

"ME!" I exclaim back as Ruval bursts out laughing while Ravel stands there in shock.

This is going to be fun.

A/N: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Here's why Vic is the Trickster Dragon.

Now, onto Fun Facts:

Reality is different from Life and Death.

The transmission was seen all over the underworld but only the underworld.

Originally, Yasaka was going to be a romantic interest but I decided against it.

Sirzechs and Zeoticus were about to go on a manhunt until Grayfia and Venelana explained that he never actually hurt them physically.

Codex was passed around by university students so she knows a fair bit about law, coding, and other modern subjects.

I got the idea of Sensory overload when I thought about the usual enhanced senses of supernatural creatures. Like, for us having nails scratch chalkboard has us shivering what would happen to someone who has better hearing than the normal human.

Originally, the broadcaster was going to be Vic but I decided against it since it didn't feel like him.

I'm thinking about having a small section where we meet Vic's parents non-canonically and I already have a few ideas.

Holy hell. 107 favorites, 133 followers, and 4,746 views on Feb 10 at 10 am. In CST.

More than 14k words. Wow.

That's about it, no one ever said anything about the brains of devils so Vic is taking advantage of that. This feels so OP but it makes sense. Vic knows he'd lose, he knows that if he were to fight back it'd make him look like the bad guy, so he has to escape and why not visit a friend while at it.
