They had been walking through the house for over ten minutes, the dark seemed even more cold and sinister than it had been before that awful night. Lukas was still cradling Philip in his arms but he had noticed how his boyfriend was slowly coming back around to his senses; the shock fading away.
"Are you okay, baby?" Lukas asked.
"Yeah" Philip whispered as he gripped Lukas' shirt.
"Where the fuck is Oliver?" Will hissed in frustration.
"God knows. No pun intended" Lukas answered.
"Well at least we don't have to worry about the girls" Will shrugged.
"That's true" Philip said before he looked up at Lukas "Okay, you can put me down now, Luka".
Lukas hesitated but he nodded "Stay close to me" he instructed as he put Philip down, grabbing his boyfriend's hand.
Philip held onto his boyfriend's hand and he squeezed it slightly for comfort. Lukas had been his lifeline since the day that they had escaped from Ryan Kane, the first time. Their relationship had grown stronger since then and Philip knew that Lukas would always protect him.
"Philip, where did you find the planchette?" Will asked.
"I didn't but I found the board in the living room?" Philip answered.
"Maybe we should split up and look for it?" Lukas suggested.
"Nu-uh! To quote the horror movie Scream 'there are rules to survive a horror movie. No saying I'll be right back!' therefore, it is the worst idea to split up!" Will rambled on and a fact became very clear.
"You've watched a lot of horror movies, haven't you?" Philip asked.
"Yeah, they provide survival skills!" Will stated like it was the most obvious thing.
They continued to walk through the house as they searched for the planchette, but it seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth. That did not ease any of their fears as the feeling of being watched crept up on them like a mountain lion stalking its prey. Philip instinctively grabbed a hold of Lukas' upper arm and he moved closer to his boyfriend, wondering around the house gave him a bad feeling and the night felt like it had been dragging on for eternity. His boyfriend squeezed his hand and kissed his head, knowing that it might ease his anxiety and fears slightly, but even Lukas could not deny the fact that he felt scared.
"I've got an idea." Will stated as he stopped walking and he turned to look at Philip and Lukas "Instead of searching for the rest of the night, let's all just go to my house and then we'll look for it again in the morning".
"I think that's the smartest idea that anyone has had all night" Philip relaxed slightly.
"Yeah, let's go" Lukas nodded.
The three teenagers began to quickly walk towards the front door, relishing in the idea that they were about to leave the hell that had been tormenting them throughout the night. The hallway leading to the front door seemed to be lighter and the atmosphere felt less unsafe, Will ran over to the door and he opened it, revealing a clear night sky and the brightest stars that he had ever seen.
"Alright, it's time to get out of here" Will smiled as he pulled his car keys out of his jacket pocket. He unlocked his car, and he began to walk towards it "It must be nearly morning, so we'll be right back" he chirped.
It was at that moment when a realisation hit Philip, Will had said something that he had warned against "Will!"
However, Will was thrown away from the car just as the headlights came on, shining on a dark shadowy figure with red eyes.
"Philip, run!" Lukas yelled as he slammed the door shut.
