Hello, and enjoy this flash fiction based on the Spongebob episode "Idiot Box". Also, please remember to review and/or request a pairing/prompt.
"Awww, but Nymphy-dora, I wanna watch TV," Little Harry whined as his babysitter was leading him outside.
"It's Tonks, Harry. And we don't always need to watch television," Tonks said. "Not as long as we have our imagination."
Tonks led Harry to a cardboard box that clearly looked like it had enough room for the two of them to sit in.
"With imagination, we can do all kinds of things we've never thought of," Tonks told Harry. "Get inside the box and I'll show you what I mean."
Harry was skeptical, but it was clear that he wasn't going to get to watch television right now, so he slowly climbed into the box with Tonks following right behind him. Tonks then closed the flaps of the box, but not quite all the way to allow the outside air to flow in.
"Now, buckle up!" Tonks instructed.
Harry looked around inside the box. "How can I do that? There's no seatbelts."
"You just got to pretend there is one," Tonks said.
"Okay..." Harry said.
Harry was surprised as he went to buckle his "seatbelt" to actually hear the clicking sound of an actual seatbelt. Now he was starting to become interested in this.
Tonks looked at Harry knowingly and grinned at him. "This box is magic."
And magic it proved to be. While inside the box, whatever the two of them imagined doing and pretended to do, they saw, heard, and felt things as though they were doing these things for real.
All of a sudden, television sounded to Harry like a very boring activity.
