A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger! Hope you enjoy this chapter, and as always, read and review!

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

Naruto walked Misaki to her house, and the whole way there, he had butterflies in his stomach. Before he left, he asked her if she wanted to go on a date with him, and she agreed. They went on a date, then another, and then another. Finally, Naruto asked her to be his girlfriend. He called his friends together to meet her. They were all seated in his living room, and she was standing in the hallway, hidden from view.

"Hey guys, I want you to meet someone," he said. He pulled Misaki from the hallway, and she looked at all of them with a nervous smile. "My girlfriend, Misaki."

Ino's world came crashing around her. Girlfriend? That's why he'd been so distant? That's why they had barely talked after what she thought was a good bonding experience? She tried to talk to him after it, and their conversations went well, but their friendship never seemed to develop. He never initiated any conversation, and they never began talking more like normal friendships are supposed to go, and now she knew why.

What was she doing wrong? Was she not pretty enough for him? Was she not his type? She knew both of those weren't true because he liked Sakura: she and Sakura had similar personalities, and she was prettier than Sakura. Or was she? She couldn't make that claim; her mother always told her that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". But what did this Misaki have that Ino didn't? A lump began forming in her throat, and she began worrying that she'd just start crying then and there. She was so distracted with her thoughts that she didn't know that her friends had begun conversing with Misaki.

"Oh no, it's 2:44," Hinata said. "Ino, our appointment."

What? What appointment? She had an appointment? Ino hated missing appointments. The lump went away momentarily in her panic. "What appointment?"

"The nails remember? You said you wanted to take me since I never do my nails?" Hinata gave her a significant look, and Ino finally caught on. Hinata made up the appointment as an excuse so that Ino could leave.

"Oh yeah! I totally forgot, let's go!"

They grabbed their things and rushed out of the house. When they were far enough away, Ino leaned against a wall and slid down. She buried her face in her hands and began the waterworks while Hinata sat down next to her and wrapped her arm around her shoulder. She cried for a good 2 minutes before she began feeling bad for Hinata and embarrassed for both of them. Luckily it wasn't a busy street at all, so there was only one or two passersby.

"Thank you," Ino sniffled.

"Yeah, of course," Hinata said.

"I should just go home."

"I would agree, but I think we have to get our nails done now."

Ino laughed through her tears. "Yeah, let's get our nails done."

A week later, Minato announced that Obito would become the next Hokage, and there was a whole procession for him as Minato handed the mantle to his former student.

Obito, Shisui, and Kakashi traded eyes, giving all three of them Eternal Mangekyo. It was a refreshing sight for Obito, being able to see clearly with his one precious eye. He stared out over the village and swore to protect them with every fiber in his body.

Soon they began carving his face in the mountain.

"Did you let them know you wanted your Sharingan to show through your goggles?" Rin joked.

"Yep, they said they'd do it exactly how I wanted it," Obito said.

"Wait, really? You actually told them to put goggles on you?"

"No. I just told them to cover my other eye."

"Okay. I was like," she reached into her back pocket and pulled out a pregnancy test. "What will our kid say when his friends ask him why his dad looks so stupid?"

Obito looked at the test for 5 seconds, making sure he wasn't the only one seeing the double lines. He looked up at her with wide eyes. She smiled at him and nodded. "We're pregnant!"

Naruto and Misaki dated for 4 more months before breaking up. There were a multitude of reasons for their breakup, but the most prominent one was that Misaki was jealous of Naruto's friends, especially of Ino. She was terrified that Naruto would leave her for Ino, so she began trying to limit how much he hung out with his friends if Ino was going to be there. She would also openly bash her in front of Naruto, which he did not like. He voiced his opposition to the way she talked about Ino, and that only convinced her further that their relationship was in danger.

It got to the point where he ever mentioned one of his female friends, she would get weird. He confronted her about it, about it all, and they ended up having a huge argument. He got tired of arguing, and said that if she couldn't accept all his friends, and trust him completely in the relationship, then they probably shouldn't be together. She agreed, and they broke up. It ended up being better for both of them, as Misaki didn't have to see or hear about Naruto interacting with his female friends, and Naruto could finally be himself with his friends instead of worrying about if Misaki's hawk eyes were watching him.

"Naruto," Obito said. "Let's do some training."

"Training? I thought we were done," Naruto said. He had just gotten up, and was eating his breakfast when Uncle Obi came barging in like he owned the place. It seemed like it paid to be the Hokage.

"Rinnegan training. You haven't used it in a while have you?"

"I have. I've been keeping it in shape while there's no action"

"Okay, then. Finish your breakfast and let's go to my office."

He did, and they walked over to the Hokage's office. Instead of going into the actual office, however, they walked a little past it. Obito stopped in front of a portrait of the Third Hokage and pushed the bottom right corner to the left. The painting tilted a bit, and a doorway opened from the wall. A staircase led downstairs, and Obito put a hand on his shoulder and went down.

Downstairs was a huge room, which could probably fit two whole academy buildings inside it. Sasuke, Itachi, and Shisui, and Fugaku were already there, and Naruto looked back at Obito confusedly.

"I've already filled them in on the situation. They're aware of the eye."

"Let me see!" Shisui said. Itachi looked at him; he had never heard Shisui that excited about anything. Naruto lifted up his headband, and despite Itachi's judgement over Shisui's reaction, even he couldn't deny that the eye looked insane. This was the most powerful eye in existence, and was attached to an already dangerous shinobi. He felt bad for anyone who would ever try to kill Naruto.

"Can you show us what it does?" Fugaku asked. Naruto took them through all the things that it could do, and explained a couple things that he was trying to figure out how to do. Hagoromo told him that he could teleport if he figured it out, and he could do other things with space-time, but Naruto had yet to make any discoveries. He tried to study Hiraishin, and thought maybe he could figure out a connection, but there was nothing he could discover.

"Why didn't you just ask me?" Obito said. "I teleport all the time."

"Yea but how would you teach me how to do it with my eye?"

"Suck in your eye socket."

"What?"

"Imagine you're pulling your optic nerve back. Do you feel a release? Almost like a click?"

"Kind of."

"Get your eye to pop every time, and I'll tell you the next steps. But the thing I wanted to do today was practice fighting with the summons."

Itachi walked in front of Naruto, and the rest of the men stepped back.

"Call them," Obito said. Naruto called them, and Itachi brought out his Susano'o. Naruto stared in awe at it, thankful that he was allowed to use his eye this time.

"Itachi, don't hurt the animals," Obito siad. "Naruto, don't give them any attack orders, just try and maneuver them to get at the Susano'o."

He tried, but it was difficult. He was getting so many different images at once that it was hard to analyze what he was seeing. It started feeling like they were limbs. Moving one of them felt like a third arm, and the one on the opposite side felt the same way.

It was a weird sensation; he was still seeing everything out of his regular eyes, but it was like he was getting constant input from the other eyes, and it was synthesizing with the rest of the images that his brain was receiving. He could focus on one animal's perspective, or he could let them all reach him simultaneously and observe them all at once.

He had 4 animals out, and when he focused on a certain animal's perspective, he felt his left index finger finger start receiving shocks. He moved to another perspective, and his middle finger started receiving shocks. He quickly realized that each animal was connected to a finger, and the finger was like a pin that controlled that animal. He could send messages to the finger, and that finger would send the message to the animal.

He practiced against all of their Susano'o, and they all left with a deeper understanding of their own, and each other's powers.

3 months later:

Ino and Naruto hadn't rekindled any old friendship that they had before he dated Misaki, and they didn't talk a whole lot while he was dating her either, so after they broke up, she kind of stayed out of his way, and he didn't make much of an effort either.

He was walking down the street, enjoying the air and the cool breeze, popping his eye (he had gotten teleportation down, he just enjoyed popping his eye), thinking about how he turned 18 today. He felt very happy, and he hated to think that it was partly because Misaki wasn't hovering over him all the time. He really did miss her, and he enjoyed the time that they had together, but it just didn't work out. Prophetically, as he was thinking about her, he passed a restaurant where she was sitting and eating with her friends.

She saw him passing the restaurant, and left her food mid-bite to go after him. She wouldn't have ran after him so eagerly if it wasn't his birthday. She had been thinking about him a lot that morning since she remembered that he said today was his birthday, and it must've been luck that he passed by her.

"Naruto," she shouted. He turned around, and a smile almost graced his face. His lip twitched upwards, but all the little fights and the microaggressions on her part came rushing back too. She finally caught up with him, and took a moment to catch her breath.

"What's up?" He asked.

"I just, just wanted to say, birthday. Happy birthday," she said in between pants.

"Oh, thank you," he said politely.

"So, how are you doing?"

He wanted to say he was doing good, but he thought it might seem a little mean to say that he was doing well without her. "I'm doing okay, how about you?"

"I'm not good. I miss you."

Damnit. He was scared she would say that. Of course, he missed her as well, but that didn't mean he wanted to get back with her. He couldn't say he missed her too, otherwise she would take it as her and him being on the same page. But he also didn't know what else he could say. "I miss you too."

Her face lit up, giving him the exact reaction he didn't want. "Do you think maybe we could give it another shot?"

Could he say he had started something with someone else? Or that he just didn't want her back? Hmm, maybe he got someone pregnant? No, too much. The truth was probably best in this situation. "Uh, no I don't think so. I'm sorry."

Her face fell. "Oh, okay. That's alright. I was expecting that. Well, I'll see you around, then. Maybe one day we can be friends and laugh about this." She stuck her hand out, and Naruto shook it. She smiled one last time, and turned around. She took a few steps, but she turned back around and held her arms out wide. She engulfed him in a hug, and just stood there. He didn't want to stand there awkwardly, so he wrapped his arms around her as well. For a fleeting moment, he remembered when they first started dating, and he felt completely whole, but it left as quickly as it came.

"Sorry," she said. "I just wanted to feel your hug one more time." This time, she walked away, and didn't stop.

"Hey," Naruto said. She turned around. "One day, you'll meet someone who fits you better than I could. I'm sure of it."

She smiled, a genuine smile that reached her eyes. "Thanks. You too." As she waved, and began walking away, she felt happier and lighter. She was realizing that they simply weren't a good fit, and though it may hurt now, it was better in the long run that they ended it here. He was right; they would find people better suited for them, and who knew? Maybe one day they could become good friends.
