Hylla had gotten the legion a private train and had had one of her Amazons drive it for them. The train had several compartments specifically for the legionnaires along with several for food, extra equipment, and tents and the like. Jason and Reyna had their own compartment which they shared, as did the ten Centurions. Each of the four Cohorts had two compartments to use, and the Veteran Cohort had three given its larger number of soldiers. The reserve force had another two compartments.

The spirits would meet them at their campsite in Long Island. Instead, the Amazons had converted two carriages into dining halls for the Legion to use. Even then, meals were taken in rotating shifts so that there was room for everyone.

Jason and Reyna's compartment was by no means uncomfortable. It had a table on which the two had put maps and written out strategies, a good place for storing armor and weapons, and two twin-sized beds. The Praetors had pushed the beds together to form one large bed, and none of the Centurions commented when they entered for meetings.

At the moment, the two lay in bed after a rather tiring escapade. They were wrapped in each other's arms and their legs were all tangled together. Jason's face was buried in the crook of Reyna's neck, and he breathed in her scent while the daughter of Bellona slept.

Jason, however, felt wide awake. He had thought that sleeping with Reyna would tire him out so that he could fall asleep, but he had been wrong. If anything, he felt more awake than ever. As the beautiful girl slept in his arms. He threaded his fingers through her hair. She shifted so that her head rested on his chest, so Jason turned onto his back to make her more comfortable. "Te amo, reginā bellā (1)" he said softly into the Reyna didn't stir, he kissed her forehead. "Te semper amabo (2)." He ran a hand through her hair. "Te aeternum cupiam (3)." Something about saying what could be his feelings aloud was freeing. No one could hear him say these things to her, so Jason had no fear of her rejecting him or of the others accusing him of showing too much emotion. The last thing he needed was to be accused of being a Graecus, especially now that they were about to attack the Greek camp.

"Etiam te amo, rex mī (4)." He heard Reyna reply. For a moment, he was stunned. "Why do you look so surprised, Grace?" Reyna asked. "You've only told me you love me three different ways. Why did you expect me to be unable to say it back?" Her dark eyes bored into his blue ones.

"I thought that you were asleep," Jason replied almost sheepishly.

Reyna nodded. Thankfully, she didn't ask why he only said that he loved her when he thought that she was asleep. She simply seemed to accept the fact that he couldn't yet say it when he knew she was listening. "Okay, then," she said simply. "You should get some sleep. It's almost morning."

Jason nodded absently and slowly sank into sleep. The last thing he felt before he fully slipped into the realm of Somnus was the feeling of Reyna huddling closer to him and of wrapping his arms around her smaller frame.

Several hours later, Jason was woken up by the sunlight hitting his face. He groaned and would have sat up if Reyna wasn't sleeping practically on top of him. Before getting his memories back, Jason might have been embarrassed at waking up stark naked with a naked girl on top of him as their legs tangled together so much that he wasn't sure what was his and what was hers. Some of Reyna's dark hair tickled his chin, but he merely smiled at her. His arms were wrapped around her waist, and Reyna's chest was flush against his stomach. "Surge, Reyna (5)," he said as he shook her shoulder gently. "The sun has risen."

She groaned and buried her face in his shoulder. "Five more minutes."

"Sorry, but it's time to get up. I don't know about you, but I really don't want the centurions to walk in on this scene," he replied.

"Afraid of them knowing we're together?" Reyna teased.

"No, I don't want anyone to see you but me," Jason replied steadily. Reyna lifted her head which allowed him to see her vibrant blush and the smirk that had crossed her features at his statement. "Come on, it's really time to get up."

Reyna finally got off of him and sat on the edge of the bed. The two quickly changed into clean clothes and then gathered their discarded clothes off of the floor. After putting away their clothes from the day before, the two donned armor and their purple capes. Because the legion was at war, the two did not have to wear togas. Togas were only for special occasions, not for warfare. Then, they made the beds. "Okay, I think we're good," Reyna declared.

Jason nodded. "Yeah, I think so too."

The two worked out last minute details of the campaign for hours. Then, the train stopped. Over the intercom, a woman's voice rang out. "Twelfth Legion of Rome, this is as far as I can take you. Camp Half-Blood is a two mile march from here. Good luck on your conquest!" Jason and Reyna exchanged laughs at the woman's cheerful tone.

They gathered their things and stepped off of the train. As per their agreement with the spirits, the spirits would take the food and other supplies from the train. Jason and Reyna led the legion's march towards Camp Half-Blood and stopped when they would be just out of sight of the Greeks within the Camp. Unlike usual, they set up their camp for camouflage instead of order. Legionnaires gathered tree branches, green cloth, and other random things to help hide the tents and help them to blend in when seen from a distance.

Jason and Reyna set up a single tent for the two of them. When Dakota raised an eyebrow at this, they said that it made room for more soldiers. No one else questioned it after that. Reyna called Aurum and Argentum and had the silver dog keep watch on their tent. Aurum she had keep watch on the Greeks' camp itself.

When the camp was all set up, the legionnaires rested. They would attack at night, when the Greeks would sleep. And before battle, every soldier needed their sleep.

Jason and Reyna retired to their tent. They both took off their capes and armor, but both had their own gladii, javelins, and daggers close at hand. Argentum seemed to sleep in front of the flap of their tent, but every legionnaire knew that the mechanical dog never slept. The silver dog was, in fact, alert of dangers to his mistress and ready to apprehend any would-be attackers.

Jason and Reyna slept beside each other and slept soundly until Argentum gently woke them up. "It's time," Reyna said as the silver dog poked her with his muzzle. "The war has officially begun."

Jason nodded. "Let's hope that it only takes a single battle," he said as he donned his armor and cape. He strapped his gladius to his belt, his javelin to his back, and hid his dagger in his boot. He hid several other daggers on his person in preparation for the battle. Soon, it would all be over.
