We Broke The Rules

Chapter Fourteen

"Should we really be doing this?" Idate questioned as he followed his brother's lead.

"We're just keeping track, calm down," Ibiki said. It was the dead of night as he approached Hatake Sasuke's car in the parking lot of his University campus. He briefly glanced inside to see a the white haired assistant, Suigetsu, asleep in the driver seat. He bent down to place a tracker on it and once it was synced to his phone, he moved to go back to his own car.

Idate gaped, and followed after his brother. "That's it?"

"We just have to make sure we know where he is and then keep an eye on him and anyone suspicious that might approach him," Ibiki explained it while Idate gave him a look.

"I know what we are doing!" he snapped. "I just feel bad about placing a tracker on someone without their knowledge," he look back at the car. He was so used to talking with the person being tracked and explaining the tracker to them.

"Life or death brother, the difference," Ibiki closed the door to the drive side of the car. Idate dashed to climb into the passenger side.

"Alright, but maybe we should split our efforts? We know that right now he's in school studying in the student union, but maybe we should also keep constant vigilance at the company," Idate suggested as he pulled on his seat-belt.

"I don't think that anyone would approach the company unless he's in there," Ibiki said, crossing his arms as he kept a watchful eye on the doors to the student union. They had a clear view from where they were sitting and the only way in and out at these late hours was the front door. "They want him dead, they will be coming for him. The thing I can't figure out is why."

Idate nodded his head, "His father was killed to, and it's probably the reason why they are being targeted. I just hope that they don't go for the whole family. Although, if they wanted the company itself, wouldn't they have gone for the family already…"

"Who knows, but they will definitely come for the heir first. For that reason we are also keeping track of the mother and the uncle," Both frowned.

The mother was a complete other story. The woman kept herself so busy that she didn't stay in one place for too long it seemed. It was hard to place a tracker on her. The uncle on the other hand, had not left his boyfriends house so far.

But for now, the heir was their main concern.

"Ho-how…" Iruka was frozen in place, "How do you know about that?"

He had never planned to tell Kakashi about the pregnancy let alone about the abortion. Deep down, he knew well that Kakashi had always wanted a child. The man had made it clear from the very start of their relationship, even though that was something that Iruka never wanted. Iruka had liked him so much and so fast that he thought it was something that they could get through together. That as long as Kakashi fell in love with him, it didn't matter if they never had a child.

If having a child was really something that Kakashi wanted then they would just adopt. In his mind it had made so much sense, but he had to pause and think again. Because right now Kakashi was standing in front of him, tears in his eyes and glaring at him with such hate.

The same tear stained face that had met him when Kakashi had returned with news that the child that had died with Anko had been his. At the time Iruka had been upset that Kakashi had cheated on him—but he had quickly realized that was the wrong thing to be feeling when the woman had been Kakashi's wife, was dead, and the potential baby was too.

It was always about wanting a child. Kakashi wanted a baby of his own.

"You just got a call saying that your abortion is scheduled for tomorrow. You better prepare right?" Kakashi spat. Iruka backed away, hugging himself. It was his body. He had a right to do with it what he wanted. He was not about to let Kakashi change his mind. "Why…why are you going to have an abortion?" Kakashi suddenly demanded sick of the silence that Iruka showed him.

"I…I don't want to have a baby," Iruka finally confessed, feeling even more cornered. His body moving slowly back and away from Kakashi, "I had been so good about not getting pregnant, I don't know how I ended up pregnant again."

"Again?" The word was repeated harshly, Kakashi was seeing red now. How many of his children had Iruka killed. Kakashi had wanted an heir so bad that he had tried to do his research and help Iruka get pregnant. He had been mixing medicines with his drinks in order to insure it, he should have been more aware.

He should have cared a bit more and he would have noticed.

"I don't want a baby Kakashi, I'm sorry. I should have been honest from the beginning, but I just can't bring myself to give birth…" Iruka cried, shaking, pleading. He needed Kakashi to understand that this was not something that he wanted in his life.

"Fuck you! I told you from the start what I wanted! I wouldn't have wasted my time on you if I knew you didn't intend to have any children, why Iruka!" Kakashi roared, moving towards him threateningly. Iruka shrunk into himself, his heart beating fast.

"Because I love you Kakashi, that's all I wanted your love!" Iruka snapped in return, glaring hard. His words had to get to him.

"What a joke!" Kakashi roared, reaching to take Iruka by the shoulders, "All this time I had bared my heart by telling you what you wanted and you were just laughing at me!"

"I was not! I never laughed! I love you Kakashi," Iruka gasped, flinching at how Kakashi was shaking him.

"You knew I wanted a child of my own, and you have been killing my children!" Kakashi didn't care anymore about what Iruka had to say, "You don't love me," he coldly said, shoving Iruka harshly towards the wall. Iruka cried as he lost his footing and tumbled to the floor, twisting his ankle over the two steps that lead to the front door of the house. The way he fell awkwardly knocked the breath out of him, making a sharp cramp hit the center of his abdomen.

His heart was racing as he held his stomach.

Kakashi was still too angry to notice the distress on Iruka's face. He wanted Iruka out of here. "Get out, get out now I don't want to see your face!" he said, kicking Iruka to shove him out the door. He swung it open, reaching for Iruka's shoulders once more, grabbing him by the hair and threw him out. Iruka fell once more to the floor, not stopping his fall. He landed harshly, Kakashi hadn't been gentle at all in his handling.

This time he bit the inside of his mouth and spat the blood. "Oh no the baby," he cried, clutching his stomach once more. Kakashi paused in his rage. Realization hit that Iruka was still pregnant with his child and he was manhandling the man around.

Fuck.

Grabbing his shoes and keys he reached for Iruka, telling him that he would drive him to hospital to have him checked. Iruka hesitated, thinking Kakashi would hit him again, but felt this was his chance to get away when he saw that Kakashi was genuinely scared.

Getting into the car, he allowed Kakashi to drive him to the hospital.

A few days had gone by since Sasuke took office, and Mikoto felt restless.

All she seemed to do all day was drive around, keeping an eye on the outside of the company. Night had fallen and the driver turned towards Mikoto once more, asking if she was ready to go home. Mikoto shook her head.

Thinking about the vast mansion, and how empty its walls echoed with no Fugaku, no Sasuke… her heart ached. She wanted her family back. Pursing her lips, she gave the driver directions to her childhood home.

The driver nodded his head, and drove off to where she asked. He was left in awe at the large mansion that they had reached, another lovely estate. He was allowed inside immediately when he flashed his badge, and said Mikoto's name. He parked in the front, moving to open the door for Mikoto who took a deep breath, gathering her courage.

How long had it been since she had been here?

She was still very young when she had gotten married, and Fugaku had carried her away. She smiled, remembering how it was here, in front of this estate that they had stood together for the first time as man and wife. Fugaku had made a show of telling everyone that he was taking his princess back to his kingdom, where they would live happily ever after!

Her family had laughed, and her brother had told Fugaku to get on with it. Mikoto thought he would open the door to the limo and they would simply drive away but he surprised her by picking her up, bridal style- so suddenly she screamed. Her scream turned into laughter of joy as he spun her around whispering for her ears only how he wanted to carry her all the way to his kingdom.

Finally he carefully placed her inside, and she had to tuck her wedding dress down, as the poof of it threatened to obscure him from her. She never wanted to take her eyes of him, the way he smirked at her, and leaned in to kiss her.

The way his warm hands held her hand as they were leaving-She didn't expect to be back here, standing all alone.

Tears streamed down her face as she sniffled. She didn't even flinch when the porch lights lit up the entirety of the front yard. She simply cried harder, her hands coming up to scrub at her face desperately willing the pain in her heart to go away.

That was when the door opened and her brother stepped outside, crossing his arms as he looked down at the sobbing woman in front of him.

"Why are you here?" He snapped, his face twitched, his glare faltering as he couldn't stand to see her cry. He never could, honestly. "Mikoto, what's wrong?" He finally dropped his arms, his face full of concern. As much as he had been angry he never could stay angry in the face of her tears.

It was a damned weakness he had never been able to overcome.

"Ni-niisan!" She cried arms out as she rushed towards him. He didn't hesitate. He opened his arms and welcomed her into his chest. "Niiisan, I miss him so much I'm so sorry, I just…Izuna, I'm sorry" the rest of her words were lost to her sobs and tears.

When he heard his name drop from her lips he teared up, crying ugly just as she was. His arms around her tightened as he decided it was not worth trying to decipher what he already knew.

Mikoto had returned home and for the first time in so many years.

For the first time he could see how the death of his brother-in-law had affected his little sister. His fingers ran over her raven hair and he whispered apologies, he had been so angry when she had accused Madara, but he should have listen to Madara and realized that Mikoto was only hurt and grasping to blame someone for her pain. It was not right that it was them, but the evidence pointed at them had been the reason.

Izuna held her tightly, telling her it was not them.

That they would figure things out!

Just like that, both siblings found themselves inside talking for the first time in years. When Mikoto mentioned that Sasuke had resigned her from the company, Izuna was left confused. Mikoto then said that she wasn't sure what to do anymore and all that made sense was to come back home.

Izuna flinched, and confessed that Itachi had done the same to him. He even described exactly how Itachi had resigned him. Both of them started to suspect something at that moment. There was something going on with their sons…

That was when Izuna's secretary rushed into the living room where they were. She turned on the news so that they could see what the news was covering about their companies.

It seemed that Kimimaro was making a very important announcement that had everyone gasping and asking questions. The reporters were tripping over themselves trying to get their answers to the point that some were talking over others. The crowd had to be controlled.

"Yes!" The man said, his green eyes gleaming with confidence, "I will be closely working with both AkatsukiGV CO, and TakaCT CO. We are looking to innovate technology like never before and bring forth something that will bring upon a change in the working world."

"What do you have in mind?"

"Is it true that you will be working solely with Red Moon technology?"

"Are intelligent robots really what you're after?"

"Do you plan on using an army based on technology to replace human workers?"

Curious minds deserved answers.

"Neither of those are what we have in mind. Instead, we will be changing the way that people work within. What we mean by change in the facilitation and interconnection with people and their personal devices. We will be creating new software but you will have to await the release" Kimimaro answered.

People were really expecting too much. In simpler words, Kimimaro was simply designing a new device, be it phone or tablet that Sasuke would design, and Itachi would be developing new software for. It would be competitive in the market, and they already had the perfect name for it.

Susanoo.

Mikoto and Izuna were left gapping, both of their thoughts running around the same lines. What the hell where their sons thinking?

"I think this is my fault," Mikoto suddenly confessed, "Sasuke and Itachi met at the convention and the two got to talking. I am not sure what they discussed, but I have to wonder what their motives are now…" She said making Izuna gap at her.

"I sincerely hope that their motives are not to destroy each other by pretending to cooperate," Izuna worried. Both of them turned to look at each other and then laughed.

They had raised two troublemakers it seemed.

Thing would surely be interesting.

Iruka had never felt this way, even days later.

The miscarriage had been painful, and he had to stay for overnight observation, because apparently he was a rare case where it wasn't just the unborn fetus's life on the line, but his. Internal bleeding and a rapture of something in his womb, Iruka had tuned it all out, not wanting to know. He just wanted them to fix it.

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes as he tried to center his mind.

Usually an abortion was his decision. He knew it was going to happen. Yet, why did it hurt now when it had been a miscarriage? Not physically, but mentally. He could still remember how the doctor had walked inside with a somber look on her face as she apologized and delivered the news that he had a miscarriage. At the time he had been pretending, although his stomach did hurt at the same time he had been thinking that it would save him from Kakashi attacking him. For it to be true and to be hearing it like that—hurt.

For the first time ever Iruka had crumbled into tears over a child that was his and that he still didn't want. When the doctor asked him if he would want his boyfriend that was waiting outside to come in, he had said no. He didn't want to see Kakashi. He had yelled at the nurses to kick him out that he didn't want to see him, and to him it was funny how even now that sentiment was still true.

He asked her to tell him to leave, already for what felt like the hundredth time, that he didn't want him anywhere near. Worried the nurses had asked if he had been assaulted by him, if Kakashi had caused this. That it should be reported.

Iruka had refused, just wanting things to be over.

Closing his eyes, he could still see the rage in Kakashi's eyes. The way he had violently shoved him, and thrown him to the floor like he was worth nothing. All because he was upset that he didn't want a child. Iruka understood that he had been in the wrong with hiding that he had not wanted kids, but he had never expected the person that he loved to react so violently towards him.

It brought tears to his eyes as he thought about it over and over again, playing that scene in his head. He didn't want to think about it anymore. Iruka sat up, glancing out to the darkened sky, thinking that it was a beautiful and peaceful night compared to how he was feeling.

He was in turmoil and his heart was broken.

Sasuke hadn't seen Itachi in what felt like forever.

After taking over the company he had been busier than he had expected, and besides working he found himself living at school half the other time. Yawning, Sasuke made his way over to the main office, and asked for his graduation application. Sasuke had to talk to his professors, and a lot of catch up work once again, but he was glad to find that in a couple of weeks he would fully graduate.

Once he applied he walked out of the school.

As he was making his way to the parking lot he read the few text messages his mother had sent that day. He still couldn't bring himself to call her, but he sent her a text that everything was okay. He would have to call her soon though, but he wanted to be prepared for anything that she would ask him.

His friends were already a whole other annoyance, also wanting—no demanding to know what he was thinking. Somehow telling them right now didn't seem as urgent as telling his mother did. So he was avoiding them. Although something told him that soon a blond menace will make it his mission to show up at his doorstep and succeed in getting some answers out of him.

Sasuke figured he would deal with that when it came.

Once at the parking lot Sasuke spotted the company car and sped up to reach it all the quicker. At this point it was Friday night, and he wanted to get home. Suigetsu was waiting for him inside, looking half dead himself.

"Let's go," Sasuke sighed as he climbed into the passenger seat. Suigetsu gave him an expectant look.

"Where to?" he asked, dreading. Suigetsu being his personal assistant meant that his job was pretty much making sure Sasuke got to where he needed to be. On top of making sure that his schedule ran smoothly with what needed to be accomplish each day.

"Well, Itachi texted that he was at my apartment, so there. I just want to sleep." Sasuke groaned, just thinking about work and the upcoming finals was making him feel even more exhausted.

"Does that mean I get to go home to Kisame?" Suigetsu perked up at the thought.

"Yeah, sure, I don't particularly care what you do in your free time," Sasuke muttered. Suigetsu cheered, and immediately started the car. The drive back to his apartment felt too long. Sasuke jumped out of the car when Suigetsu told him that they were 'here.' "I'll see you on Monday, early okay," Sasuke said as he closed the door to the car.

Suigetsu nodded with a mock solute, "Yes captain," he said.

Sasuke waved him off and then ran. He couldn't get into his apartment fast enough, sighing happily when he found Itachi cooking dinner for them. He rushed to hug him, nuzzling into him.

"Welcome home my love," Itachi said, turning to capture his lips into a kiss. Sasuke moaned, melting into Itachi. It was like the weight of all his responsibilities washed away with just having Itachi in his arms.

"I'm finally home." There was such relief in being able to say that. Being here in Itachi's arms alone felt like home.

"I've missed you," Itachi whispered, holding him tight. Sasuke blushed as he smiled brightly.

"I've missed you too." The two of them shared a few more kisses.

"Why don't you go get washed up and changed while I finish dinner," Itachi suggested. Sasuke was a bit reluctant to release him so soon, but nodded his head, stealing one more kiss before he went to do just that. When he returned Itachi was already plating their dinner. The two of them ate rather silently but peacefully as they kept touching each other in one way or another.

Sasuke's feet kept brushing against Itachi's, suggestively. Itachi smirked at him, already plotting how he was going to get him into bed. Sasuke licked his lips when he noted that Itachi was planning something, anticipation lacing itself over his belly and knotting it tightly.

Both finished eating and placed their plates on the sink. Itachi was surely teasing Sasuke as he wrapped his arms around his waist and started to nip and kiss on his neck while leading him to the bathroom.

Sasuke laughed as Itachi instructed him to brush his teeth. It felt incredibly domestic to be standing beside Itachi while the two of them brushed their teeth and prepared for bed. It was such a warm feeling that he found he wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

Although watching Itachi, the weight of how much he actually missed him made Sasuke never want to part with him. He was sure Itachi felt the same way, with how he whispered in his ear how good it was to have him here.

He said it through his kisses, his warm hands on his skin, as he led the way back to the bedroom. In the middle of kissing, Sasuke let out a yawn. He quickly covered his mouth with his hand, giving Itachi a sheepish look.

Itachi chuckled, kissing his forehead. "Let's go to sleep," Itachi suggested. Sasuke made a face, ready to disagree with him. "You've been working hard love. It can't be easy to have work and school to deal with. We even had Kimimaro release the announcement already, and there's going to be even more pressure on us when we release information on the new products. You will need all the rest that you can get."

"But I also really want to spend time with you and do…things," he blushed as he struggled to say the words.

"We will, but I don't want you to strain yourself," Itachi kissed his cheek, moving his lips over to his ear where he whispered. "We have all day tomorrow."

Sasuke blushed, "Itachi," he gasped. Itachi turned to look at him in time to catch him yawning once more, and smiled when Sasuke melted against him. Deep black eyes blinked up at him so innocently that Itachi was left even more endeared with his husband, "Pillow?" Sasuke asked. Itachi chuckle softly but rolled to his back, pulling Sasuke along with him so he could use him as his pillow. Sasuke sighed contently, his arms going around Itachi's waist tightly, while his head rested on his chest. "I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too Sasuke," Itachi murmured right back, running his fingers over his short raven strands. "What's the date of your graduation?" he asked.

Sasuke hummed, murmuring the date into Itachi's chest, "You don't have to come," he added as an afterthought.

"I want to be there for you," Itachi knew that Sasuke had worked hard to graduate before even his friends, so he was going to be walking on his own. But besides that, he was so proud of him that he wanted to show his support.

"I know," Sasuke smiled. "I expect a surprise."

Itachi ruffled his hair, "I'm already way ahead of you."

Sasuke groaned, "You're spoiling me Itachi, I've already started thinking about how have I ever lived without you. This isn't healthy," Sasuke complained, while rubbing his face into Itachi's chest.

Itachi chuckled once more, "I feel the same way with you Sasuke, I love spoiling you. I wouldn't be able to live without you now. I want to protect you and take care of you,"

"Me too," Sasuke pouted. He wanted to spoil, protect, and just take care of Itachi just as much. "Marry me again Itachi, marry me a hundred times over,"

Itachi tilted Sasuke's head up to capture his lips in a chaste kiss. "Okay," he murmured, peppering kisses across his face. Sasuke closed his eyes, enjoying the soft kisses and touches. He wasn't sure when he fell asleep, but if this was a dream he never wanted to wake up. He was exactly where he always wanted to be.

In Itachi's arms.

Kakashi was devastated when he was asked to leave once more.

He had given Iruka more than enough time in his opinion to get over what had happened. It wasn't like Iruka was the one that cared that the child had not made it. After all, he was the one that had been planning that damned abortion behind his back!

Iruka not allowing him to see him wasn't fair at all.

On top of that, when he asked about the status of the child Iruka was pregnant with, the information was refused to him. Something about him not being a family member or husband to the patient. It didn't matter that he was the father or not, the information was denied to him because Iruka had asked them not to tell him.

Kakashi had been determined to know, and when he wanted something, he got it! He stuck around long enough to gather the information. Once he leaned that Iruka had miscarried, he left. Of course, he would. That fucking useless idiot. The anger that rose in his chest, red hot, at the thought that once more a child that was supposed to be his had slipped away before he even knew…

Kakashi had a good mind of making his way to a bar, to drink his sorrows away but when he got there, the blaring television made his pause.

It had been a while that he had even seen a television screen. When the headlines read that OtogakureOD CO. was partnering with both AkatsukiGV CO and TakaCT CO, he grew concern. His immediate reaction was to reach out to Mikoto and demand to know what was going on. He didn't even have Sasuke's number to ask him.

She didn't answer.

He was standing in the middle of an unknown bar, left out of his own family company, like some stranger. AGAIN!

He felt like a shell of a man, one that had lost time and time again. It felt like he could never win. The universe was surely laughing at his expense. First with his father making Fugaku the heir, Fugaku getting Mikoto-the most beautiful woman in the world, the bastard dying but having a son, Anko dying with his child, Iruka aborting his children, and now Sasuke taking over what he had wanted most on this world.

TakaCT CO

What a ridiculous name! Before it had been TakaCT CO, their company had been called WhiteFangOTL. CO. A refined and well feared name. It was a successful company, one that even Kakashi had felt pride over. Yet his father, Sakumo Hatake, had looked past him, and looked to Fugaku instead.

The man wasn't even real family!

He was simply the son from a remarriage that he had with that skank of a woman who took the place of his late mother. Kakashi had felt so much anger when it seemed like his father was replacing his mother with another woman. He refused to ever call that woman mother and didn't even mourn when she died.

His father did, it seems, seeing as he fell ill just two years after her death.

In his father's death bed he had expected him to name him his heir. After all, he was his real son. Imagine his shock when that position had been handed to Fugaku who quickly accepted and claimed he would make him proud. Taking over was not enough, the bastard even changed the name and as much as Kakashi hated to admit it, rejuvenated their company and brought it up in the social ladder.

Kakashi had wished that he had never met Fugaku. He could still remember it like it was just yesterday. The first time he saw him, he thought that Fugaku was too serious and needed to loosen up. Fugaku had been unhappy with his mother's choices but had relented to her happiness in the end, taking the Hatake last name when she asked him too. Pretending to be a Hatake and impressing his father with his sharp mind and capabilities in handling work so efficiently.

The man was a real leader, making people flock and admire him.

To think that his own father loved his step son above his real son, what a joke!

Fugaku had taken what was his, what he would have done even better! Kakashi was done losing! He didn't want to keep losing. Damn it, he was going to win this time.

Sasuke, he snorted as he walked out of the bar and towards his car. That boy was nothing like Fugaku, so indecisive and his head in the clouds. Pursuing what he wanted over his own duties, it felt like it would be so simple to take the company from right under him. Instead it seemed he had come to some of his senses although obviously he was still doing what he wanted. It seems he made a mistake, he underestimated the boy.

Getting into his car he turned on the Bluetooth and let it connect his phone. He sat back, making an important phone call.

Damn Sasuke to hell and back, and whatever he was trying to do right now.

He'll fucking take him out of office.

He will get his company back.
