In His Words

Bella returns home from Europe after a six-month work-study. She takes a

psychology class at UDub dealing with romance and erotic relationships. All

throughout her textbook, there are written comments from its former owner, and

Bella feels drawn to his words, as she tries to find him.

A/N: Thanks, Fran. I don't know what I'd do without you.

Chapter Fourteen: After the Date

BPOV:

Alice's smile broadens. "I'm excited for the both of you. Edward, were you leaving, or do you have time for hot chocolate? Jasper makes them incredibly special."

Bella squeezes my arm, taunting me, "We could have another dessert?"

"Well, since you put it that way." He kisses my nose."

Alice squeals, "Oh, he's a nose kisser. I love that."

I roll my eyes as Edward chuckles.

"And we have a doggie bag of French pastries." I hold up the box.

Jasper croons from the other room, "Bring that here!"

Removing our coats and placing them on a chair, we sit on the rug, around the living room cocktail table.

Jasper brings a small tray of mugs filled to the brim with hot chocolate, a surprise liquor, marshmallows, and whipped cream, while Alice has plasticware, small paper plates, and napkins.

Serving the cups, Jasper asks, "What'd you bring?"

I hand him the box.

"Oh, great. I love all of this." He frowns. "My nemesis."

I ask, "What?"

"I can't make the French macarons. No matter how many times I try, they crack."

"Bella will show you, Jazz. She's great at it," Alice beams.

"Would you? I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong? I watch how-to videos on YouTube and still screw them up."

"It's all in the resting time; not too much, but not too little."

Edward takes a gulp. "This is good."

Jasper takes a few macarons and passes the box to Alice.

"Oh, I decided to take a crash course in French. "Oui. Oui." She giggles.

"I can help you with basic conversation," I offer.

"I'd love that," she sings.

"Well, I arranged my business meetings after the semester ends so we can make that trip to Paris together," Jasper informs Alice.

She sighs, "I can't wait. I just wish you could be there, Bella."

"Well, she can. We're taking the company jet, and we have the chateau right outside of the Paris city limits. The flight and lodgings would be free." Jasper turns to Edward. "Maybe Edward could come with Bella?"

"That's very generous of you, Jasper," Edward remarks.

"Nonsense, it's all a business expense. I pay for nothing."

"Oh, my God, Bella! Please, say yes." I get her puppy dog eyes and pouty mouth. "You'll get to introduce us to Jean Luc."

I bite my bottom lip and smile. "Hmmm."

Alice stares at me, bouncing on her legs.

I look at Edward, and he shrugs. "I'll go if you want me to."

Alice repeats, "You heard that. He'll go IF you want him to."I look at Jasper, who's shaking his head up and down.

Edward smiles.

And when I do say, "Yes," Alice tackles me, yelping in my ear, "This will be great. We'll be together in Paris. Oh my God, the shopping."

Finishing off the dessert box and drinking far too many liquored-laced hot chocolates, Edward and I decide to watch TV in the living room as Alice and Jasper head for bed. No, there are no sexy smexy things going on; they cuddle. Hmm, and I think … why don't we?

"Edward?" I whisper into his chest with his arm around me.

"Bella?" he responds and kisses my hair.

"Why don't we go lie down in my bed and watch this movie?" I casually but nervously ask.

"Would you feel more comfortable in your room?"

"I'm comfortable anywhere with you."

"Then, we could go to your room," he whispers very close to my ear.

I tingle … all over.

I take his hand and we walk down the hallway. My door is open and we slowly make our way to the bed.

"Which side do you usually sleep on, Bella?"

"Facing the bed, I'm on the right, closer to the bathroom."

"Do you need to do anything with the pillows?"

I shyly gesture. "I remove the decorative ones."

He helps me pile the pillows on the bench at the foot of my bed and slides off his shoes. I do the same.

We meet in the middle of my mattress; Edward leans against the headboard as I cozy myself under his arm. I click the control turning on the movie. The volume is low.

We're silent.

Well, for a few minutes, until my neighbors begin. My window is tightly shut, but we can still hear them groaning and moaning as they pound into one another.

Echoes in their throes of passion vibrate off the walls.

"Oh, do that again. Harder. Harder."

"Any harder, and I'll be behind you, Baby."

Edward and I start to giggle.

"Drill me, corkscrew your dick, you asshole."

"Well, maybe if your pussy wasn't so stretched, I could get some great friction."

We are hysterically laughing.

"Please, pencil dick, thicken your girth and raise your blood!"

"You're such a bitch and dry as a bone."

"You're not stimulating me. Pull my pussy hair again."

"God, roll my balls with your nails."

"We need to turn around."

"Yeah, you suck me and I'll tongue you."

"Great idea."

I imagine they are deep into one another with muffled moans.

Edward and I hold on for dear life as we gasp for breath from excessive laughter.

I look up at him, our smiles fade, and he gently kisses me.

"You're so beautiful; I love the sound of your laugh."

He leans down, slowly kissing my eyelids, my cheeks, and then my neck. We slouch lower onto the bed. His leg sides between mine as I raise mine over his. We tighten our grip, and our kiss deepens.

Then, we laugh.

"I'm so sorry."

"Me, too."

The groaning builds to a screaming, "Fuck me hard, Axel."

"You want hard? I'm digging until I feel my dick goes through your throat."

We lose it.

We slowly calm our breaths, smiling at one another.

"How about I take you to my place? I don't have noisy neighbors. We could actually sleep."

"You want to bring me to your apartment?" I surprisingly question.

"Yeah, if you feel comfortable."

I smile. "I'd like that."

He releases me and stands. "But be careful; I may not want to let you go."

"Alice will find me.; you can be sure of that."

He smiles this beautiful smile and stares at me. "She's going to have to learn to share you."

We make the quick drive two streets over to a new executive apartment complex, parking in the underground lot and taking the elevator to the fourteenth-floor penthouse suite. I mutter an uncontrollable 'ooh', as I press my face close to the glass windows, taking in the sights.

Edward protectively wraps his arms around my shoulders. "Is that excitement or fear of heights?" He kisses my head. I lean into him.

"Actually, I love heights. I can see more of the city."

"You're going to love the views in the kitchen. I know you like to bake. What about cooking?"

"Sometimes, it's my therapy. I have about five-hundred cookbooks I love to experiment with and perfect their recipes."

"Sounds like a good method … possibly I'll benefit from it?"

I hug him. "Quite possibly."

We reach the door.

"Now, I share this place with Emmett. He won't be home tonight," Edward explains.

I frown.

"No, no, he's not with someone. My dad will get him very drunk, and Mom will insist he go home with him."

"Does that happen all the time?"

"Not always, but Dad was pretty playful tonight. Emmett will be on the receiving end of his performance."

"He's a character."

"I'm not sure I'd describe him in the same way." He laughs.

"I think I get him. He has this stressful job and he has to find some release."

"Bella, you have no idea." He rolls his eyes. "Dad … doesn't want to be boring. That's the crux of it. He's very intense about his work; always researching to surpass his techniques. His colleagues expect a lot from him."

"He knows he needs an outlet."

"Exactly."

"My dad likes fishing. He's the police chief of a small town."

"Aw, a cop's daughter?"

My turn to roll my eyes.

He unlocks his door, allowing me to enter first; I look around with an open mouth. "Edward, this is amazing."

I walk into a small foyer with a dark-wood hall tree and table on the right and a bench on the left. It leads into the main living room. Black leather sofas, chairs, and end tables decorate the area. A huge flat-screen TV is on the right wall. There are wraparound, floor to ceiling windows, and balconies. "Hey, you can see the city."

Edward stands to the side, watching me. "Yeah, we have great views."

Then, I see the kitchen and dining room. "Wow." I turn to the windows and back to Edward. "Yeah, I can see cooking would be great with these views."

"Not that I do that much. Emmett loves to cook."

"You're kidding?"

"Nope. He believes if you like to eat, then you have to know how to cook … well."

I nod. "Makes sense."

Observing, I realize the light gray throw pillows match the walls. "Did you and Emmett?" I wave my hand around.

"No, that was all Mom. She likes to create."

"Very masculine."

"She knows what we like."

I run my hand over the stove. "This kitchen is every woman's dream; stainless appliances …" I inspect the butcher block island in the center. "Strong and sturdy …"

The stainless sink faces the view. "Doing dishes with the sky."

Edward stands behind me, slowly placing his hand on my hips. "I like seeing you in my kitchen."

I turn to him, smiling. "I like that you like that."

"May I kiss you?"

"You don't have to ask." I stand on the tips of my toes and lightly kiss his lips. "See? It's easy."

Edward places me on the island, standing between my legs and talking as he kisses me, "I didn't bring you here to take advantage of you, Bella. I only want to have time to get to know you, and you know me. I want this with you."

"I want this, too."

We deepen the kiss. My hands run through his wayward hair, his hold tightens me closer, and we become one. It feels as though we mold together. I don't know where I begin or he ends. The charge of energy vibrates through me into him. I feel the exchange. Our lips stop, both breathless in wonderment. "What was that?"

"It was like your blood flowed through me."

"Your breaths went through my lungs."

"I think we had too many of Jasper's spiked hot chocolates," he suggests.

I smile. "I think we like each other."

"I think you're right. C'mon, I'll show you the rest of the house."

Edward helps me down, turning into the hallway.

The front door opens, and Emmett barrels in. "Good, I'm glad you're here."

A/N: Hmm, Emmett is home. Seems as though Carlisle didn't get to him … or did he?

Well, Paris is for lovers, mes amours. Do you think our girls will get wrapped up in the ambiance of this romantic city with their men? Or will they stand strong

and wait with clear thoughts? What would you do?
