it's update time and since here in Scotland there was been a snowstorm, many of us have been snowed in and unable to go to work so I though 'why not?' and do something useful such as write out the next chapter! Now before you go into this, it is perhaps a good idea to check out the original movie game and remember the 'breaking and entering' mission which will be mentioned here and you would get the references here if you know what's going on.

Anyway without much to say...here we go!

Chapter 15

Lockdown

Following his successful infection of Kraven who was now back to full strength and more, Venom and his new dangerous companion headed towards the Empire State Building in which they had big plans that they knew was going to play a major part in taking over this city. That said while on route they both did not forget to cause much anarchy across the city causing much destruction from buildings, cars, trucks and sometimes unfortunate members of the public who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time with many being seriously wounded.

A horrible situation for those poor people but it was at least better than suffering a fate as what had happened to Kraven…

Inside their respected Symbiote suits, nether Eddie and Kraven had ever felt the need to cause much destruction, as a matter of fact the Symbiote was making them love it. They both did not know why but it was if all the frustrations and anger that they felt had cursed them for their respected lives and the Symbiote, no matter how big or small their grievances might have been, played into this to the high heavens and both infected men were pretty much all but gripped by anger and wanted revenge. Not on the city, but of a certain wall crawler.

By the time they arrived at the Empire State building however, they were met with what seemed like the US army and although they were both powerful, they were overwhelmed by a huge force that did have the potentially to take them down as such when both Venom and Kraven were greeted by a barrage of gunfire and made a detour to find another suitable location.

They might have been stopped in their tracks there but that did not mean that their rampage had not gone unnoticed as they had left quite literally a trail of destruction in their wake which one might have thought that Godzilla might had been here. Then again given the power the Symbiote seem to have to anyone who did not know what had happened.

The two of them headed towards a quieter part of the city, quiet as they did not notice how the city was now deserted due to their actions had placed the city into lockdown. To say New York had never seen anything like this before would be an understatement. They would end up by what was a large former, now Stark Industries, Oscorp factory that was a chemical factory and hiding out here was not a bad idea for good reason. Inside was full of so much liquid substance in which one a small explosion caused by the military might cause the whole place and surrounding area to be caught in the blast and no one could risk it.

Instead all they could do was surround the area and hope that the two monsters would blink first and be shot down for good and helicopters filming the location gave a clear view of the place for those sitting at home to show where those two monsters were hiding and this was especially useful for Peter and Felicia Parker as after finding out where Kraven and Venom where, they tracked down the location and began swinging across the city for what felt like the greatest battle that either of them had faced. Though it must be said that they were both unaware of who were behind the Symbiote suits; for all they knew it might have been anyone.

Despite the rain which was starting to come down like hellfire, both Spider-Man and Black Cat were not going to let that stop them to take down the Symbiote menace. As they swung across the city to the location where Venom and Kraven were hiding at, they could not help but notice in the streets below of how deserted the city streets were; not a soul could be seen in the streets nor any vehicle other than those being from the military and it really did struck them as to how serious this situation was.

No longer was just a one-on-one battle with some crazy individual in some abandoned building who had big ego yet often got nowhere near close in taking control of the city and becoming some tin pot dictator, this was now truly something that the whole city seemed to be involved with and the importance of taking down this threat seemed more important than anything either could have dared dreamed would have happened.

With such a high military presence across the city it seemed as if the military that anything that moved would be shot and these included superheroes dressed up and wearing masks, even if the latter were fighting on the same side but it just showed how tense things were and the crime fighting couple had to avoid many of the spotlights that were scanning the area as they made their way to the chemical factory.

As they got closer to the location and were amazed at the size of military that surrounded the area as in nothing could get in or out of the place, Peter and Felicia's thoughts drifted towards the many skyscraper apartments and the many thousands of people all stuck indoors and it was very likely that at least more than one were glancing out of their windows and catching a glimpse at the city's heroes coming round to save them and free them from this nightmare.

"Get round the back way," Spider-Man called out to his partner. "It's not quite well defended there and if we're careful, we can get in without getting spotted."

"Any ideas what happens once we get in after that?" Black Cat asked as they swung closer to the location.

"We find them and, well…let's hope for the best."

There was not really anything else that he could say other than hope. Even from the limited footage they had seen of the two Symbiote monsters and knowing how strong the Symbiote powers could be for one, Spider-Man was rightly concerned about their own chances. Granted it might've been two on two (unless the heroes were to count the mass military presence surrounding the factory) yet the Symbiote powers those two menaces had might've felt like two verses six.

Despite not feeling so confident about their own chances of survival, Spider-Man and Black Cat managed to avoid being spotted by the military in that one lesser guarded area and landed in a darkened part of the factory which led inside where they expected to find what they were looking for. Strangely enough, none of the doors were locked as if anyone there had simply dropped everything and ran for their lives which in many ways given that they had been invaded by two giant Symbiote monsters, anyone would have done just that.

As they entered, something about this place felt familiar to Spider-Man as if he had been before and about five minutes as they walked through the empty and dark corridors which there was not a soul to be found, he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the inside of one laboratory and then it all came flooding back to him.

"I've been here before!" Spider-Man announced as he looked at the empty laboratory.

"Really? When was this?" Black Cat inquired as she stopped and looked back at him.

"Many years ago, when I was Spider-Man for the first time," he replied, and he then recalled to his wife about the night he sneaked into the building to find out more about the then menace of the Green Goblin.

He remembered how he had entered when it was owned by the now former Oscorp company and how some of the parts that Spider-Man had found from Green Goblin's weapons all seemed to have been manufactured by this company and this did lead for him to once to go breaking and entering. Not quite the hero image he would have liked to have shown to the world. What he discovered later in that trip was to his horror that thanks to the help of a reluctant and worried scientist that Oscorp had a chemical weapons facility. It was bad enough that Green Goblin had dangerous weapons but the mere concept that Goblin could unleash these dangerous chemicals all over the city was a nightmare scenario that did not dare worth thinking about.

Even though that scientist could have easily alerted for security and capture Spider-Man, it seemed that much like the web crawler he was deeply concerned about how dangerous this was and how there might be a serious incident of it being unleashed on the city and decided to help Spider-Man to take care of the chemicals.

The mission itself would be a success but it was far from plain sailing in which he would have to go by guards, super soldiers, and a huge giant robot which to this day he still had no clue as to what its main purpose was for, but all were defeated, nonetheless. If that was not all bad enough, it turned out that it seemed that upon more discoveries, Green Goblin seemed to know about Mary Jane and the escaping part was downright extreme in which by that point his cover was blown and barely got out of this place alive with several burnt sizzles on his spandex suit to prove it.

The one regret that he did have after all these years was, he never got to thank that scientist who had helped him out, albeit rather hesitantly, and he did wonder how that man was doing after all these years. Plus, he didn't really know if this place was either converted from weapons to perhaps medical practice since then, either way it was a memory that he could never shake off.

As he finished explaining his story to Black Cat, she was impressed by it all. She had heard this story briefly but never quite as in much detail as before and she could not help but grin briefly as an ironic thought crossed her mind.

"What's so funny?" Spider-Man asked raising an eyebrow behind his mask.

"Just the irony of it all," Black Cat replied with a giggle. "You bust my chops telling me how it's not responsible to go all breaking and entering and it turns out you did something no better than me. Boy, I don't think I can get over this."

"I thought so," Spider-Man grumbled in annoyance.

"Anyway come on, let's keep going," Black Cat added and the partners headed deeper into the building and much of Spider-Man's memories went flooding back as one couldn't quite forget such a crazy and dangerous night.

About five minutes later, the leather clad woman spoke again. "Quite impressive it is here. Any changes from last time?"

"A few things," Spider-Man replied as they entered a large room which seemed like a library that he remembered. "Some modern features here and there and the fact that all the high-tech security is all turned off for some reason. Not sneaking about like last time."

"That is weird," Black Cat pondered. "You'd think a big factory like this would have it all turned on…unless those two had something to do with it?"

"Anything's possible I suppose," Spider-Man shrugged as they went on walking.

The more they went along the way the more things began to turn nasty. First it was the lights above them flicking on and off as if the bulbs in them were about to go off, then along the walls there was damage with the sight of giant claw marks and holes in the concrete walls that did indicated of something incredibly powerful was here, but all this was nothing until then came across another dimly lit corridor that made their hearts turn to ice…

Along this corridor was blood smeared across the walls and a handful of corpses belonging to that of several unfortunate scientists who had died in horrific circumstances that anyone with a soft stomach would likely faint or throw up the sight of them. Some had their heads missing with blood on the ground looking quite recent and some had their stomachs ripped opened in what must have been the most horrendous way to die possible.

"Oh my God," Black Cat uttered in horror as she placed a gloved hand over her mouth and her husband was silent at the horrific sight. How he wished in all his time since he first put on that mask that he would never have to witness something like that out of a slasher horror movie. In fact, it almost felt like they were in one and that some zombies bursting out from the ground here would not look out of place.

"Why…why would they do this?" Spider-Man muttered as he slowly walked to one mutilated body to examine it.

"God knows why," Black Cat replied in disgust and was making no secret that she was aghast at what she saw.

Then they heard a moaning.

Both heroes immediately stood close to each other raised their arms in readiness in case there was a sudden attack by whoever it was.

"Who's there!?" Spider-Man called out.

The moaning came again, though it was not from some monster but sounded more…human. It was also coming from a pile of rubble on the other end of the room and something in Spider-Man told him that he had to go over and find out what it was, plus his Spider-Sense would have alerted him if there was trouble in the air.

"Spider, wait!" Black Cat called out, but her husband was already rushing over towards the concrete pile of rubble and indeed the moaning was coming from there and thanks to his strength he was able to pull away much of the rubble to reveal a man.

A bruised, battered, bloodied but nonetheless living man.

"Cat, help me out here!" Spider-Man cried out as he attempted to clear more of the rubble to help get the man out of the there. When Black Cat rushed over and pull the man out and laid him against the wall, the man was of dark skin, mid thirties but looked utterly traumatized with his eyes wide as sauce plates and was panting heavily.

"Sir, are you ok?" Spider-Man tried to ask the man as calmly as he could.

Instead, the man stared at his two saviours and looked like he was about to cry out for help, but Black Cat placed a hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down. "Please sir listen! What happened here? Where is everyone else.?"

"Sp…Spider…Man?" The man mumbled finally as if he had found his voice again.

"Yes, it's me," Spider-Man responded, "you're safe now."

"Y…your outfit," the man noted. "Have you b-been…are y-you one of t-them?"

Both heroes glanced at each other knowing what he was referring to and Black Cat was starting to wonder if making that black suit was such a good idea after all…

"I'm not them," Spider-Man answered. "Now tell us, what happened here?"

The man's breathing started to slow down somewhat as if he was calming down, but nonetheless still looked utterly scared out of his wits. Then he burst out crying. "It was…they're all…dead!" The alarms didn't work…we could do n-nothing. Those monsters…killed many."

It was their worst fears. Glancing back at the damage that had been caused, there was indeed now no doubts at who was responsible for all this. Nonetheless it made Spider-Man shiver with fear thinking if he had let the Symbiote consume him then he might have done something like this.

Black Cat then helped the man get back on his feet again though was still shaken by the whole affair. "Sir listen, you must get out there and warn everyone about what's happened."

"We might need military help," Spider-Man added which made his partner raise a confused eyebrow at him. "I just get the feeling that this could be bigger than what we can do…we need all the help we can get."

The scared man looked over at the direction of where Spider-Man and Black Cat had emerged from and looked reluctant to go.

"It's all safe," Spider-Man assured him. "There's no one there, just go and get out to safety, now!"

The man reluctantly ran off leaving the two heroes alone though Black Cat was not sure about his husband's advice.

"You want him to tell everyone out there that we might need help?" Black Cat asked. "I thought this would be a personal matter we can deal with ourselves."

Spider-Man though shook his head. "Have you seen the news? The whole city is in lockdown and everyone knows what is going on, it is not like before and this will not be easy as who knows how powerful the Symbiote will be. If what we saw on the news channel of them flipping cars and destroying buildings, then God knows what things could be like."

The platinum blonde woman placed her hands on her hips, sighed and then nodded. She had to admit that he did have a good point though she did have one pressing question. "One thing though…how do they know, if what that guy said is true is if the alarms didn't go off, did they had something to do with it?"

"It's likely," Spider-Man muttered, "but I'm not sure how they…Oh God!"

"What?! What is it?"

"The Symbiote will know!"

"How? What are you talking about?"

"What I remember is the Symbiote will know all my memories which means…"

"It'll know all the secrets about the workings of this place the last time you were here…oh shit."

All of this was making him feel awful about how much did the Symbiote know about him and what it could do with the information about his past, it had seemed to have found out about the past regarding that night many years ago and everything about right down to all the security tech of how they had managed to get in with ease. Exactly how in all these years that the security had not been updated in all these years was a mystery but there was no time to ponder such thoughts.

"We've got to find them and end this once and for all," Spider-Man then said.

"Any idea where they could be in this huge building?" Black Cat asked.

"I have one place in mind, but my mind is rusty on where it is, come on let's go."

Spider-Man led the way as they went down many more corridors and with it many more scenes of dead bodies and blood-spattered walls, but as they went further in things seemed to get more darker in which to their horror the roof and parts of the wall weren't of either metal or concrete but something more black and slimier…

"Is that the Symbiote?!" Black Cat gasped as they could not believe that it seemed to have spread throughout this building and as they got closer to where Spider-Man suspected the pair might be hiding in, the walls in the corridor became more and more crowded with the Symbiote which seem to act like the roots of trees of something like nature taking back long abandoned manmade structures.

"It's like some kind of nest," Spider-Man observed, and they finally arrived at a door that he remembered many years ago. "Ok, let us hope this is right."

After pressing a 'enter' key on the computer attached to the wall, the doors groaned wide opened and they were soon inside a vast hanger like building which was in fact the very same place in which many years ago that Spider-Man had battled with that giant robot. However, the changes were quite different; one thing was that there was no giant robot and all around the giant building was the walls covered with trails of Symbiote that seemed to snake their way up. Also on the ground level was a huge bulge near the ground which as they managed to get a better view, they realised that they had found what they were looking for.

Though truthfully for what they could see, they would both wish they had been very wrong in thinking that this was the right place…

Oh my, what have they seen down there? Can't just be Kraven and Venom that's for sure! Now to reply to much of your lovely reviews...

Akira-Hayama - Oh yes, she is indeed the Queen and the best lover interest that's for sure! And yes, the scene of her making the suit is based from the comics plus it did help fill in the question in which how will Peter get another suit as his old one was taking by the Symbiote. A symbiote Kraven is somewhat not what you get everyday but it is a nice change to try...much like one in which both Peter and Felicia have a happy and stable love life, something in which is more rarer than the former! But what do you think will happen now to our heroes and how are the call backs to the game here? ;)

NeoTyson - I do love writing scenes with the two, mostly when they are supporting each other and I hope I've done justice for Felicia which even though I'm sure is quite her character as we're use to, she has developed in the years since she and Peter first met. And yes, Kraven is back!

Lelouch2618 - I must confess I haven't based it on the comics but rather took the name as it suited the chapter's theme pretty well IMO.

Marvel Nerd - Indeed it has that feel to it, I like to add something more grander that is different to the finales we have seen in my SpiderCat stories so far. Though regarding the bald question, I think you might have a point on Eddie taking up the bald look here, hmmm...

Guest - Shaving Peter's head bald? Mmm, not sure what to think of that. I must say that thought never quite crossed my mind though I suspect Felicia would like it if Peter kept his brown hair. Just my thoughts though.

M.H Pintner - Yeah, I'd agree with you there.

Anyway, that's that for now and what do you think will happen now? Either way things are about to turn a little...violent. Until then, stay tuned for the next update!
