Disclaimer: I only own Kat and Ophelia.
Flashback:
Ophelia wanted to look at all the stores as she ran around with Kat and Chica following.
"Come on," she called gleefully over her shoulder. "There's a jewelry stand."
Chica laughed, she couldn't remember the last time she and her friends ran around and had fun. Ophelia ended up taking them to the more deserted part of the village square, not that she minded.
Kat stopped in place when an astronomy building catching her eye. Ophelia halted abruptly when she realized her sister wasn't behind her.
"Kat!" She groaned in an exasperation. "Come on."
The redhead shook her head. "I want to look in there." She glanced at the two blondes. "I won't try to mess with any telescopes this time, I promise."
Ophelia contemplated Kat's request.
"Aw Phie," Chica piped in empathetically. "Let her look, we have time."
"But I want to see the jewelry," Ophelia whined. An idea sparked in her mind. "How about you two go in there and I go over there?"
"I don't know," Chica mused carefully. "Foxy told us not to separate."
"We aren't," Ophelia argued with a hand wave. "I can see the shop from over there." She gestured to a stand a few stalls away.
"I mean, I guess I don't have to go in," Kat said, wistfully looking at the store.
"No, go on," Ophelia encouraged. "Chica, go with her."
Kat and Chica hesitated, they didn't want to break a rule. Ophelia sighed and flounced off.
"Go on," The older blonde called over her shoulder. "I'll be in shortly."
Reluctantly, the two girls went inside the shop. Kat sneezed as dust assaulted her nose.
"It sure is dusty in here," Chica noted, sneezing. She rubbed at her nose. "And dark." She thought she saw a shadow in one of the corners but brushed it off as her eyes playing tricks on her.
Kat nodded, admiring the telescope peeking through the roof of the building. She touched one of the knobs and pulled back as if she got burned by it; she looked around cautiously and backed away.
"Hay Kat," Chica spoke up quietly as she watched her friend.
"Yeah?" Kat replied absent mindedly.
"I don't want to put you in any sour mood," Chica began carefully. "But Bonnie keeps asking me about you."
The redhead sighed in response. "I'm sure he is." She browsed over the books on the shelves. "He's tried talking to me but I'm just not ready."
The blonde strolled over to her friend and wrapped an arm around the younger girl. "I'm sorry he hurt you." She told her.
Kat exhaled sharpy and pulled away. "You know, I like him too and that frightens me." She admitted, picking up a book. Something dawned on her. "Hey, where's the shopkeeper to shoo us out?"
Chica squinted her violet eyes, attempting to scan the dusty, dark store. She could barely see a thing, she turned to the corner she thought she saw a shadow. "Hello?"
"Hello girls," a low voice greeted.
The girls froze, unsure if they heard who they thought they had heard.
"W-was that…" Chica stuttered.
The shadow emerged and came into the light to reveal Nedd. He smirked and started towards them. Panicking, Kat threw the book at him, causing him to cry out in pain.
The girls screamed and beelined for the door. Chica looked around for something to use as a weapon.
"Lia!" Kat screamed. She searched the street for her sister who was nowhere to be seen. "Where did she go?"
"Come on," Chica grabbed Kat's hand. "We have to hide." She yanked the redhead behind her, looking for a hiding place. She ducked into an alley.
Kat went straight for a wooden box, pulled the lid off, and got in with Chica hot on her heels. Chica carefully lowered the lid on top of them.
The blonde listened to Nedd curse breathlessly.
"Where did they go?" He asked himself. His footsteps faded away.
Chica hesitantly lifted the lid enough to peek out. "I think we're safe," she told Kat. She pushed the lid off.
"Miss us?" A voice taunted menacingly.
Chica gasped in fear, her eyes tightly shut. She was afraid to open them.
A hand roughly grabbed her arm and yanked her out of the box. Chica opened her eyes to see that Balloon Boy had her and Nedd had Kat.
"Thought you could hide from us?" Balloon Boy sneered. "I tried to grab the other, but she disappeared." He shrugged. "We don't need her anyways."
Chica stomped on Balloon Boy's foot, who in response shoved her to the ground. "Nice try," he growled.
"I must admit you girls really put effort into this," Nedd complimented mockingly. "Try anything funny, we will beat you so bad you won't be able to walk." He pulled a struggling Kat with Balloon Boy tugged Chica behind him. "Won't the captain be glad to see you again."
End flashback
Chica listened apprehensively as the disturbance from the binnacle rang through the room. To say that the girls were welcomed back was a bit of an understatement.
Chica was taken to Springtrap first. She was shoved into the wall, sliced with a knife, and had her arm twisted in a way that arms don't naturally go. She foolishly fought back, something that made the situation worst.
Knowing that Kat had been hurt by Springtrap many times made her uneasy. Kat hadn't made any noise during her encounter in there.
The door opened and Kat was shoved in. The redhead crumpled to the floor in a bloody mess, her dress was torn in many places.
Chica crawled over to her friend and pulled her into her arms. Kat wrapped her arms around the blonde in response. They knew that they only had each other for comfort.
"How did you not cry?" Chica asked gently.
Kat shook her head. "He likes that, makes him more agressive."
The blonde shuddered so hard that she hurt herself.
"Don't worry," Kat said in an attempt to be brave. "Foxy will find us, he knows Springtrap will go for the treasure."
"But you don't have the map," Chica protested softly. "Can't you just lead us somewhere else?"
"No," Kat disagreed with a shake of her head. "Springtrap knows I know the map; he's making me draw it out. Besides, if I led us somewhere else Foxy won't be able to find us."
"I suppose you're right."
"Nice to be back, isn't it?" Kat asked cynically.
Chica exhaled sharply. "We'll be okay," She stated. "We have to be."
