Later Obi-wan was walking towards the barracks following his new Master-Apprentice bond to find Sahl. The Ceremony had been performed the day before with the Council in the Council Chamber because it was more complicated than usual. Breaking the remnants of old bond linking Sahl to the Dark Woman and making the new one between her and Obi-wan. Going into the barracks he heard the noise level increase and felt Sahl in that direction.
Following the sound now he saw that there were the scattered remains of Poker and instead there was a combat ring. Of course Sahl was barefoot in the middle of it. And Cody….where was Cody?
Scanning the clones in the room he found Cody, Waxer, and Corric being prevented from intervening in Sahl's behalf. It seems that there was a bet going on, and Wolffe was entering the ring. Quickly slipping around and though the crowd to the anxious Cody he asked, "What's going on?"
"There is a bet sir." Cody answered though gritted teeth, "It's to decide who is best at hand to hand, Sahl or Wolffe, as she had already beaten me in the gym."
Seeing the evidence of bruising on some of the troopers Obi-wan commented, "That wasn't how it started was it?"
He could barely hear the ground out, "No sir."
Before Obi-wan could answer the fight was on, and Wolffe was on his back in under a minute. But he got up and kept going gibe more times with the last bought going for two minutes before being beaten again.
Finally Wolffe acknowledged that he was beaten, but it was by a force user. Laughing Sahl left her spot in the circle and went to help him up before sitting down and pulling on her boots. Then an unwise Wolfpack shiny called out, "Let's get the girl a drink!"
There was acclaim at that idea and a half-formed plan to go to the 79's bar which was known as the clone bar. Cody yelled, "That's enough! The kid is not going there."
Some one in the back called, "Who put you in charge of her?"
Seeing this as a time to intervene Obi-wan spoke, "My Padawan," all heads turned to him, "will be returning to the Temple with me." Walking towards the door, "Come Sahl, its time for mediation."
Sahl said an overall goodbye and hurried to catch up. Commander Cody stayed behind to talk to the men, most likely. After a few minutes Sahl spoke tentatively, "Master?"
"Yes Sahl?" Obi-wan answered.
After a moment, "If I may ask, why were you anxious when the men were going to take me for a drink? And why were Commanders Cody and Wolffe a mixture of anxiety and anger?" Pausing for a moment to think, "Others among the 212th were too."
Obi-wan tuned on the spot when he had stopped and placed a hand on her shoulder, "Because that kind of drinking can get any being to behave in ways they are usually able to control. In excess, as some at the 79 do it, it brings out the worst. And we were anxious because we care about you."
Nodding to show her understanding Sahl walked with him back to the Temple, then to the meditation chamber. Both had a lot to think about.
