Eto's eyes hang wide open as her breathing stopped for a moment. Her hands remained suspended over the chair. She shivered as she heard the words come out of the ghoul's mouth. Impossible...
The Aogiri guard shivered as he saw Eto's reaction. It was extremely rare for Eto to be so stunned at something, because she always manages to predict things before others.
Unsure whether to continue his stream of bad news or not, sweat started dripping from the guard's head.
"And... Erm... E-Eto-san, Dr. Kanou and Kaneki are nowhere to be found." The soldier said weakly.
Slowly rising from her chair, Eto's long, green hair fully extended down her back like a cascade of spring water. That devil of a doctor. Her eyes were still shaking a bit as she opened her mouth and tried to speak. It was him, wasn't it? He was the one that gave away our location. He was the traitor.
Then, black veins spread across her right kakugan, making the guard uncontrollably tremble before the wrath of an SSS-rated ghoul.
"Prepare for war," she whispered with an intimidating voice, "time to release the owl."
"Blood, hunger, kill, eat, blood, hunger, kill, eat." A dark voice called from the room as Eto approached it. She smiled as she paused at the door to appreciate her own handiwork.
Opening the door, Eto stepped inside, and found a single kakugan stare at her from the darkness. Although it was extremely dark, Eto could make out black, cracked lips and bloodthirsty eyes, filled with bulging veins.
"Takizawa-kun, are you ready to kill?" Eto asked playfully.
"Kill... I need to kill." Seidou's white hair flashed in the dark as he twisted his head in a grotesque way. He raised his hand and picked on his teeth as he heard the word "kill".
"Are you ready to taste blood, the one thing that you craved for your month here?" Eto asked again, cocking her head to the side to look straight into Seidou's eyes.
"Blood... I need blood... I want blood..." He growled as he approached Eto silently, his disoriented face getting closer and closer to Eto's.
"Then you'll have blood, tonight. You'll have plenty of ghoul investor blood. Just follow Tatara's orders, Takizawa-kun." Eto revealed a small devious smile as she vanished from the room. Slowly, Seidou dragged himself towards the door, and around the hallway, his eyes almost blinded.
Suddenly, black wings full of spikes shot out from his back. The kagune stretched every muscle of itself, and pointed towards the ceiling.
"Blood..." Seidou murmured again, and smiled maliciously.
"Tatara-san, I assume that you have already been informed of the situation." Eto spoke calmly towards his tall companion. "I need to find Dr. Kanou, and bring back Kaneki. He is the key to our final desire." She looked at him uneasily.
Looking straight ahead, Tatara hesitated as if he was in a pensive mood.
"Very well. I will stay here and defend the island against CCG. If Kaneki is truly that important, then I suppose you need to retrieve him." Tatara decided.
Eto was frozen in surprise for a second. Then, she smiled sweetly at the tall, white-robed figure.
"You are so nice, Tatara-san. I'll leave things here to you then. Ayato-kun, Miza-chan, and the owl will accompany you. I'll take Noro with me. I'm sure he would be useful for my plan." She giggled a little as she began walking out of the door.
"Till next time, Eto." Tatara spoke his farewell.
Although her companion wasn't showing any emotion through his voice, Eto could still trace a hint of sadness. "Yup. Till the next, Tatara-san." She sighed a little as she exited the building without looking back, with the eerie giant, Noro, following silently behind her.
Sigh~~~ Dr. Kanou is really out of his mind, isn't he?
Taguchi exited the hospital, and dragged herself along the silent street of Tokyo at sunset. She had a small frown on her face as her brown hair was blown against her face by the wind.
Turning against Aogiri and giving CCG the location of their base. The doctor is insane.
She turned a corner and stepped into a small alleyway between two buildings, because this shortcut is fast to her home. The only thing she could hear were the wind howling against her ear, her white robe, and the steps that her heels made on the ground.
Deep in thoughts, the nurse walked on into the alley.
"Taguchi-chan."
Suddenly, a soft voice called from behind her.
Her eyes widened as she turned around in surprise, to look into a small figure standing a few feet away from her. What made her heart skip a beat was the single kakugan that stared at her on the bandaged face.
"O-One-eyed?!" She exclaimed, her legs shaking.
"Don't worry, I won't eat you. I only need information." The small ghoul in front of her teased. "Where is Dr. Kanou?"
Taguchi felt thousands of goosebumps tingle her body. One-eyed... This must be the one-eyed-owl... Her legs kept quivering as they carried her away from the owl. She had one hand out as if it could defend herself. However, her back bumped against a hard surface.
She shuddered, and slowly turned her head.
A long haired giant stared down at her silently like a doll. His mask had no eyes but an enormous mouth.
"AGHHHHHHH-MMMMMMMM!" She screamed as loud as she could, but her sound was muffled as a small but powerful hand closed around her mouth. She struggled to break free from the iron grip, but Eto held her in place effortlessly.
Eto smirked a little as Taguchi twitched frantically in terror as Noro approached her.
"You only need to tell me, and I'll let you go without harming you." Taguchi heard the same, serene voice whisper into her ear from behind. "Where is Dr. Kanou?" The serene voice turned menacing, making Taguchi's frightened expression intensify.
Thump, thump, thump, thump... Tatara heard the distant troops leave their boats and march towards Aogiri's base. His hands were behind his back as he surveyed the battleground. Thousands of purple capes fluttered as the breeze blew past the Aogiri ghouls.
Silently observing the ghoul investors that led the humans, Tatara remained motionless for a long time at the edge of the roof.
"Ayato, Miza, Seidou, take your teams to your formations." He commanded as he finally turned around to face the three ghouls, Ayato's determined face, Miza's sorrow face, and Seidou's crazed face.
Black rabbit, Three-blades, and the Owl nodded as they left Tatara alone to their positions.
Tatara looked down. The mirag of a small figure kicking her legs over the edge of the roof appeared in his vision, but it soon disappeared. Closing his eyes, Tatara breathed in and out slowly in his red mouth mask as he heard the distant troops stop their march.
"Aogiri Extermination Operation, commence!" A loud voice boomed through the speakers from below, and thousands of investors and soldiers alike flooded towards the Aogiri base.
To be continued...
