Singularity: ?

Date: Post-Babylonia.

.

Chaos was burning all over.

People's bodies were aflame, stone and metal were lit on fire and the stench of smoke reeked the land. The sky was blocked by black smog and the earth was tainted with sin. This truly was hell.

It would be natural to come to that conclusion after all. None of this was natural.

Within the flames, a boy walked. He could have saved people. There were mothers crying out to save their children, selfish people asking to be saved themselves, and whimpers and fazes of hope that they would finally be saved.

He ignored them. He let them die. He walked past them so that he himself could survive. How cruel of him. How selfish of him to do so.

Yet even the boy himself was dying. He himself was so desperate to live. He himself had to give out his own mind for his body. He had to save himself.

He clutched his ears to block out the cries and kept his eyes forward. He chose to walk through the hell. He chose to try to survive himself. This was the path that he chose for himself.

As the boy walked, something else was going on. In the midst of that flame, in the center of it all, the cause of the terror.

The Holy Grail was born and let out All the World's Evils. Pouring onto Earth the very concept of sin itself.

This tale has been told already. How many people remember this fire? How many people have heard of the story of the boy who became a dreamer? An idealist? A broken man?

Yet in this tale…

Was the boy even saved at all?

.

.

.

Shirou dreamt of that night again. It seems that he could never even escape that nightmare of a reality. What happened back then had tainted him, changed him into who he was today.

But when walking through that fire, he was a blank slate. He was a nobody. Just some kid that was going to die.

If he hadn't met Kiritsugu…

He felt shaking. "Senpai. Senpai." The soft shaking of his body was new.

He groaned. "Yeah. Yeah. I'm up." This was somewhat a familiar scene. The only differences were the people involved and how they did so.

Mash smiled. "Good morning Master."

"Yeah. Good morning, Mash."

Though the scenery was different, the familiarity of it all was welcome to Shirou. A gentle morning, a peaceful waking. He would not take it for granted ever again and appreciate moments like these. Mundane moments that pass, small everyday joys he has, he would not waste them anymore.

"You seem a bit troubled… are you alright?" She slightly tilts her head. Her hair falling in the same direction.

Really now, how does she see with only one eye and a pair of glasses. Yet even so, she sees so much with those eyes. It's a strange thing to understand.

Shirou waves it off. "It's nothing that important. I just had a dream of a memory."

After Shirou came to Chaldea, Mash learned all sorts of things about her Master and him her in return.

Shirou Emiya was a Master in a 5th Holy Grail War. Possibly from another timeline or possibly from another reality. But his achievements in that Grail War led him to be the victor.

His will to save his love, his dream that he cast aside, his allies that he no longer forgets, his family, his city that he lived in, she knew all of those from their journey alone.

But there was still so much she didn't know about him.

What was his life like before the war? The people he interacted with?

She knew nothing of those. She certainly felt a connection between her Master and some things were best left unsaid, but…

"I just have someone I want to return to." He says so with a genuine smile. A goal that he had strove for so long as he went on this endless journey.

She couldn't help but be curious?

Shirou on the other hand knows about the time limit on Mash. How short her life was as a homunculus. How much she values this journey as it was her experience towards the outside world. He couldn't help feeling regret at being unable to save her properly.

"Mash… does not have that much longer…"

He hides his own cringing.

The countless times she saved him as his Servant, the countless times she helped motivate him to press on even further, to go one step more. Countless times he was taken care of by her and it piled up into an unpayable debt towards her.

He almost failed to save her once… no… he did fail in saving her. He could not make it in time to the explosion. He did not have the strength to lift her out of that rubble.

All he was able to do back then was hold her hand.

"Umm, Senpai? I…"

Suddenly an alarm blares off. "Attention everyone, new Singularity detected. Please man your stations."

This caught their attention. Shirou quickly jumped out of bed as Mash opened the door. "Let's go Mash!"

She nods her head. "Yes, Senpai!"

.

.

.

"Fuyuki again?" He lost count how many times he would have to go back to a Fuyuki that was not his. One that was permanently in flames, one that was a past that never was, and now a strange new Fuyuki has another Singularity?

The doctor sighed. "This one came out of nowhere. What's worse is that it's the same grade as Camelot."

An EX ranking. That's how dangerous it was to the rest of human history… however…

"An EX ranking out of nowhere? That does not make sense." Mash adds in.

Da Vinci turns from her computer to face them. "Yeah. There's not even a single divine being within the area. However, it is without a doubt coming from Fuyuki in 2004."

Shirou cringed. It was from his time. So, something went wrong with that Grail War? Or was there something different that went on?

"In any event. We need to fix this problem right away." He heard that deep voice. He recognized it. It's the same voice that pisses him off.

Shirou turns to face the Servant. "I take it that means you're coming along… Archer?"

The Servant had ditched his red coat and slick back hair and simply wore the same hairstyle as Shirou. He kept his smooth black armor on.

It annoyed Shirou how similar they were. But there was no time to argue about it.

"Yeah. If anything, both of us have different knowledges and experiences that happened back in Fuyuki. I don't know what I did in yours, you don't know what I did in mine. If anything, we can compare what happens after we assess what's going on in there." He explained.

Mash looks in Archer's direction. "Ummm… Archer? Is there anybody else coming along with us?"

"Yeah. Medusa, Irisveil and Gilgamesh wants to tag along. Not sure if there are others. Medusa wants to help Shirou out, Irisveil wants to see how the future of Fuyuki looks like and Gil… "

"FUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You think that you can do something that involved me and not bring me in? Fools! Of course, I shall tag along!"

"… wanted to get out of working."

The Golden King entered the stage. "Ho. You assume to much about what it is I desire. However, you are only half correct. I wish to see the battlefield that morphed the mongrel right in front of me into the Master that he is now!"

Everyone heard a sigh. "It seems that the King of Heroes is still the same, no matter where and when."

The dragging of chains, that slim and tall body figure and the color purple could only leave one person.

"Rider."

"I hope you have not forgotten, but I said that I would become your wings and aid you to the end of the world. It means that I will walk with you even through this." She gave of a gentle smile towards Shirou. She has not changed. She was only gentler to Shirou now after knowing full well what kind of person he was.

He blushed and looked away.

"HOLD! UP! A! MINUTE!"

With a thunderous boom, a silver and red knight enters the fray. Her helmet transforms to show off her face and instantly walks over to Shirou. She grabs him by the collar and lifts him up in the air as if he was nothing.

"Y-y-y-y-you summoned Father in that Grail War, right? I already missed her twice damnit! Take me with you this time!" She growled at him.

Mordred Pendragon. Bastard child of Artoria Pendragon. She had caused a rebellion against her own father which led to the battle of Camlann where Mordred died and Artoria was fatally injured. It was a tragic tale for both sides indeed.

Mordred Pendragon, who had never gotten the recognition of her father. Who had grown to be filled with anger and hatred towards the King she looked up to and murdered. The father she loved.

Artoria Pendragon, who had never understood the hearts of the people. She, who had chosen to become something more than human. Who became the King to ensure that nobody else would cry, to ensure that everyone would be happy, who never became happy herself.

Shirou thought that he would be expecting a more violent, more berserk person to be Mordred. It turns out that she was just a child with no clue on what to do. Misled by Morgana le Faye to kill her own father. A truly bitter and sad ending for her.

In the end, all Mordred wanted was recognition.

Now she seeks forgiveness from her father. To prove that she can be a great knight. To show her how much the King of Knights truly meant to her.

Shirou sweat dropped as he was being shaken by Mordred. "I got it! I got it! You're coming with us."

"My, oh my. To think that my son would be such a-"

"NOT ANOTHER WORD MOM!"

Somewhat similar to a bride, Irisveil von Einzbern enters the room. Her robes being dragged across the floor, her gentle smile, and her sweet tone. How motherly of her. How queenly of her.

Too bad after getting to know her for a while she can be a bit devilish.

Now he knows where Illya gets that from.

She laughed. "Ooh. You called me mom?"

The angelic and saintly image that was painted of Irisveil von Einzbern after the Fuyuki 1994 Singularity, was torn down a few mere days after she was summoned by Shirou. Constantly teasing her own son, playfully traumatizing them with her driving in a simulator, Irisveil was certainly a unique mother figure.

Seeing another person enter the room, Mordred dropped Shirou to see who would enter.

"Okay everyone! Back to the important matter at hand!" Romani shouted at the top of his lungs.

Everyone turned towards Romani as he coughed into his hands.

"Seeing as this is an EX ranked Singularity, Shirou. You'll need to enter the summoning room again. We'll need additional support for this mission too. See if we can luck out into summoning a Servant to help us out."

The summoning process. It was different from other Grail Wars. Servants get prana from both the Master and from Chaldea itself.

It would be difficult to get into specifics, but it allowed for the summoning of multiple Servants under one Master.

He already had a plethora of Servants to aid him in battle, and powerful ones at that. For Romani to ask him to summon more would mean that they might not be enough…

Shirou looks at his command seals for a moment before nodding. He looks towards the summoning chamber and walks right in.

It was time to summon a Servant.

Outstretching his hand, he begins to chant, feeling his prana leave him and having poured in to the summoning process. The winds moving quickly as a burst.

He has done this tens of times as a Master of Chaldea. He already knew what to what to do.

With a push, he calls out for a Servant.

A bright ray of light shines in the room and fades away, revealing three new servants.

"Oya, oya. It seems that you managed to summon me, Shirou-kun." A familiar staff, a familiar voice, a familiar face.

His laid-back attitude, his gleeful smile, his familiar blue robes. It was obvious who this was. His wisdom showed on his face, his playful attitude came from the tone of his voice and mannerisms, his strength as a Caster being held back by laziness to cast spells.

The Wizard of Camelot, the Magus of Flowers, the Advisor of the King.

"Since you already know who I am, Servant Caster. True name is Merlin. You caught me off guard while I was acting out as Magi-Mari. I do hope that I am of good use to you though." He says gleefully.

The other was not a familiar face. He seemed to be young, about a year younger than Shirou. He seemed to be wearing a white formal shirt and a black vest and pants and shoes. His hair was a lighter brown and his eyes were a redish pink. He had a very unique sword lined with bronze and steel. It's sheathe a white and bronze color. It belonged to Astolfo, one of the Twelve Paladins of Charlemagne.

"Umm. I don't think you all know me. Servant Caster. True name is Sieg. I myself am not a Heroic Spirit, but I do have the abilities of one. Please take good care of me." His soft tone held a bit of glee and excitement to it. As though this was a new experience for him.

Shirou smiles in return as a response for the both of them. Sieg seems like a new and friendly face.

Death.

It filled the air so suddenly. A pressure that came out of the room behind the two newcomers. It was the third Servant. Whoever it was, the Servant was surrounded by mist.

A foot appears out of the mist. The Servant steps forth to greet the summoner.

However, who came out as the third Servant was a fair bit of shock to everyone in the room. After all, who could expect someone like that to answer the call of Shirou Emiya?

Even the ones that were just summoned stop just to see the presence of this terrifying beast. They could tell that this was no ordinary Servant. This was a monster.

Donning her black visor, bearing her darkened armor, corrupted with crimson veins, she looks at Shirou.

"Ah… Shirou…"

Her white hair, her pale skin, she raises her hands towards her visor and throws it away. This reveals her paled eyes.

"You were strong from the start."

She seemed more akin to a corpse.

Merlin stares wide eyed at this Servant. He knew who this was after all. Why would she be here? Why did she respond?

No, the more important question is how.

This was not simply a Heroic Spirit from the Throne of Heroes. This one seemed to be an incarnation or reincarnation of a past Servant.

"Servant Saber. Artoria Pendragon."

She takes off her mask as Mordred kneels in shock. This… was not the father she looked up to. This was the side of father that she had wanted to change, that she feared the most. This was the King of Knights?

Irisveil looked in sorrow at her former friend, her former ally. What had she become?

EMIYA's eyes widen. This… this was bad…

Gilgamesh stared at her once more and chuckled. It was not his kingly chuckle nor was it one done out of humor. It was a bitter chuckle that not even Saber could withstand the corruption of All the World's Evils.

All Shirou could do was stare in shock at his former Servant. He could tell. This was her. This was who he had killed. This was Artoria Pendragon, the Tyrant of Britain, the Emotionless King.

"I have to ask you… are you my Master? Is what I would have said. It seems that you have summoned me once more, Shirou."

The black Excalibur is shoved into the ground as she rests her hands in its hilt. They did not know what this could signify for the singularity, but they did know what this meant for Chaldea.

The Dragon has come.

Somewhere in the Fuyuki 2004 Singularity.

"Let's go, Lancer." The Master of Lancer wore a purple suit and black gloves. She had a pair of earrings that were similar to Cu Chulainn. But oddly enough what was odd about her was what she was carrying around.

A cylinder case. It did not look like some golf bag, but rather it contained something incredibly dangerous. What sort of weapon was contained within it?

Yet that did not matter. The Servant stepped forth.

"Yes. Master. Hopefully you can find someone that is worthy." An authoritative tone, a powerful tone. This was no ordinary Servant. In fact, it felt closer to something on the levels of being Divine.

She wore a purple attire and Celtic armor. Her crimson eyes shone under the light. Her purple hair flowed downwards.

And her crimson spear was thirsting for blood.

.

.

Meanwhile, somewhere hidden in the shadows of Fuyuki, somewhere in the streets or in the forest, something is born. Something that is monstrous, something inhumane.

Out from the shadows something similar of a black crimson rises. As though the shadows themselves were taking shape. It looked like something out of a horror film. It was disgusting, vile, evil.

This was not human.

This was not human.

ThiS wAs Not hUMaN.

It statics in and out of reality.

If one were to see this creature, they would die. Whatever this was… it was out for blood.

It smiles.

Like a ferocious beast, like a deal was made with a devil.

It smiles.

"Now then… let's restart this Holy Grail War."

Writing clutch time.

Fuck it, time to attempt some original event. Watch me write myself off into a fucking hill and kill my own fanfic.

I will try my best for this one. Hopefully keeps you guys entertained. Might be some asspulls or something here and there, but hope you can put up with it. The end goal of this story/snippets is to entertain after all! If I managed that, I can be satisfied.

I'm on break too! I might get to write more or less depending on how I feel.

I mean after all, I just started Genshin and am now in debt to a THIRD gacha game. Azur Lane for the hornies, FGO for the story, Genshin also for the story.

Also, no. This event won't be super long. I'll probably put it at the same length as Babylonia or Camelot. Which is short for a fanfiction.

Hope you guys enjoyed it! If not, then thank you for your time as always.
