Ch18 - Lost and Found pt3
We sat in the chairs facing Oliver's desk, as we watched my laptop filter through the information I had entered. I watched it intently as I found out there were lot of adoptions that took place in 1986, I just hoped by the end of it we will find Kyle.
Oliver looked at me and he smiled. He then spoke.
"My love, do you think that we will find Kyle?"
I looked at him, and then I looked at my laptop.
"I really hope so, the search is almost complete; so hopefully it turns up something"
As the search program was in the final stages of its filtering process, I looked at Oliver. His words kept playing over in my head, maybe we won't find him, or Charlotte. I must have been lost in my own thoughts, because I heard Oliver call my name. I looked at him and I smiled.
I then heard my laptop signal that the search was finally complete. I shook my head it, I looked at my laptop. I sat there in complete shock, we found him; we found Kyle.
I looked at Oliver again, and then I spoke. Joy seeping through my tone.
"Oliver, we found him; it's Kyle, he lives here in Denver, and it says here that he was adopted in 1986 by Charlie and Anna Davidson; they are a modest couple. Oliver I can't believe it we actually found him. Now all we have to do is find out where he works"
I lifted my laptop and I searched for Kyle Davidson. It only took a few minutes, I looked at the picture on the screen. I have seen that face before, I just couldn't place where I had seen him. Know we know what he looks like, it will make our task that much easier.
I scrolled down, and I found his place of work; I sat there wide eyed. He works in the Airport, the last time I was in that airport was when I was flying back from D.C. after my lengthy mission and then I looked at Oliver.
"Oliver, according to this; Kyle works here. He works at Denver International Airport, he's a security officer"
He looked at me and he spoke.
"This task just got a little bit more difficult. Shane we can't just walk in and go straight to security. We need to call the Airport and have them set up a meeting so we can talk to Kyle"
I nodded, I found the number and I waited for it to be answered. Once the call connected, I heard someone introduce themselves.
"Denver International Airport, this is Sarah Morris speaking"
"Hello Sarah my name is Shane McInerney, I'm calling from the dead letter office at the Denver post office. I was wondering if you could help me?"
Sarah replied.
"Yes I how can I help you?"
I spoke again.
"We have a letter here belonging to one of your security officers, Kyle Davidson. I know that we can't just walk in and speak to him, so I was wondering if it was possible to set up a meeting so that we can speak to Kyle and give him his letter?"
Sarah paused and then she spoke.
"Yes, of course; if you can come to the airport and ask for me, I can find a room that is quiet for you to conduct your business. Thank you for calling Ms McInerney, he will be waiting in the room when you get here"
I thanked her, I then ended the call; I turned to look at Oliver, I smiled.
"It's all set, Sarah said that he would be waiting for us"
We made our way to the airport. We made light conversation on the journey. Once we got there, we walked over to the enquires desk. I got the attention of the man sitting behind the desk.
"Hi, I'm Shane McInerney and this is Oliver O'Toole, we are from the dead letter office in the Denver post office, I was on the phone with your colleague Sarah Morris"
He spoke.
"ID please"
I lifted out my post office ID, I showed it to him. He grunted, you would think that we disturbed him or something.
He looked at us, he picked up the phone on the desk. He looked at us while he made the phone call.
"Sarah, you have visitors from the post office"
He then ended the call. He looked at us again, then he spoke.
"She's on her way, you can take a seat over there"
He pointed towards the seating area facing his desk. I thanked him, and we then sat down. We waited for Sarah to come and get us. I looked at Oliver, I could tell that he couldn't wait to give Kyle his letter because he was holding it in his hand and he kept looking at his pocket watch.
"Oliver, are you alright?"
He looked at me. He smiled and then he spoke.
"I'll be just fine, once we give this letter to Kyle"
I nodded in agreement. We waited in a comfortable silence, I watched the clock on the well in front of us. Sarah should be along any minute now, and when we meet Kyle; we will give him the letter and we decided on the way over here that we are going to offer to find Charlotte for him.
If he wants us to find her, we will do everything in our power to find her and reunite them. Maybe then Kyle will get the answers he wants.
