Chapter 17 - The One With The Hogwarts Express

I woke up the next morning to someone screaming, which isn't particularly nice. My eyes snapped open and I felt Scorpius sit up in bed next to me.

"Al? What's the matter?" Scorpius asked groggily

"The matter? Why are your clothes scattered across the floor?" Al screeched. I sat up in bed keeping the duvet held up to my chin.

"Al, calm down!" I pleaded

"Calm down? You two are naked in bed together! Aaahh! My eyes!" Al cried, slapping one hand over his eyes and the other he held out in front of him to prevent him walking into anything as he left the dorm. It didn't work. he walked into the door frame.

"Oops?" I laughed, looking at Scorpius, "We should probably get ready, its already 8 the train leaves at 10." I told him, getting out of bed, putting on Scorpius's hoodie next to the bed and his pj bottoms, grabbed some clean clothes going into the bathroom to shower.

When I came out of the bathroom in a pair of combat trousers and one of Scorpius's hoodies, Scorpius was dressed and was doing some last minute packing. "You ready to go home?" I asked

"Pretty much, we've still got to get your stuff, then we can go for breakfast" He slung his backpack over his shoulder, grabbed the end of his trunk in one hand and took my hand in the other.

In the common room Al was sat in an arm chair still looking traumatised. "Good, your out of the dorm, I can go get my stuff now" He exclaimed, standing up.

"Where were you last night?" Scorpius asked

"Soph and I came back here, we were on the sofas and fell asleep, she left just before I came up to pack." He explained, heading up to the dorm.

Scorpius and I headed to drop off his truck for collection then to the Gryffindor common room to get mine. Scorpius sat with Louis and Hugo while I went to get my truck.

In the dorm Sophie and Molly were running around grabbing things and throwing stuff in their trunks. "Where's Alice?" I asked them, they looked up. I saw neither of them had really slept much.

"She didn't come back last night!" Molly whispered

"What? Where is she?" I panicked.

"I don't know!" Sophie cried.

"What are we going to do?" I asked them

"We're gonna have to tell Neville!" Molly ran her hands through her hair.

"Come on, we might as well get this over with!" I sighed. The three of us headed towards the door just as it opened.

Alice entered the dorm. She was wearing last nights dress with a Gryffindor hoodie I knew to be James's thrown on top. Her hair was knotted. I threw myself at Alice and hugged her tight.

"Where were you? We were so worried!" I whispered into her hair.

"I went up to James's dorm after the party, we talked for a while then fell asleep together" she explained, flopping on her bed.

"What happened in James's dorm?" Sophie asked

"Nothing, obviously! He was so mad! Fred and Emma came up at some point but we drew the curtains and used the silencio charm."

"Who is Jay mad at?" I asked

"Al, although I don't think he's to pleased with Scorpius." Alice said grimly.

"Great! Grumpy Jay is no fun!" I complained

"No, I'm going for a shower" Alice stood up and headed to the bathroom.

"Poor Alice!" Molly sighed.

"I know, please can someone help me with my trunk, it's to heavy. Scorpius is helping me, but he can't come up the stairs" I explained.

"I'll give you a hand, I want to find Al" I tried to hide my laughter.

"I'll stay here and wait for Alice" Molly sighed

"What's so funny?" Sophie looked confused

"Al might not be to happy to see me and Scorpius"

"Why?"

"He kinda walked in on me and Scorpius this morning" Molly's mouth went slack. Sophie struggled not to laugh

"Al walked in on you doing you know what?" Molly asked.

"No! Scorpius and I were asleep but our clothes were all over the floor." I explained. Molly looked traumatised, but Sophie just laughed.

"I really should find Al. Lets get the trunks downstairs and I'll go and find him." Sophie helped me lug my trunk down the stairs then we went back upstairs to get hers.

Scorpius grabbed my trunk and the the three of us headed down to drop the trunks off. "I going to find Al" Sophie told us turning in the opposite way to the great hall.

"Tell him I'm sorry please?" Scorpius asked. Sophie said nothing and all she did was laugh. Scorpius turned towards me. "You told her?" I nodded.

"She asked where Al was. Anyways she was going to find out eventually!" I told him.

"Never mind, I'm sure your whole family will know by the time we get on the train." He shrugged. "Come on, lets have breakfast." We headed into the great hall, meeting most of the Weasley clan there. I wasn't to surprised to not to see James, Alice, Al or Sophie. I could see Roxie's boyfriend Frank giving Scorpius death glares.

"Do you have a problem, Frank?" Scorpius asked pleasantly. My family all stopped talking and looked at Frank.

"Yes!" Frank replied shortly. Everyone's heads wipped back round to look at Scorpius.

"Well, what is it then?" Their heads spun back to Frank.

"You had a bet placed on my little sister!" He complained.

"I know and I'm sorry. It was a stupid thing to do but if you don't mind, I have more important things to think about," Scorpius turned back to his food.

"That's it? Your not going to apologise?" Frank asked.

"To Alice? Definitely but to you? Nope"

"Fine! make sure that you do! No one hurts my sister!" Frank told Scorpius. The family seemed to have lost interest now clearly seeing that there wasn't going to be a fight.

"You ok? I asked Scorpius placing my hand on his arm.

"I'm ok" He sighed.

"Do you want to leave?" I asked quietly so no one else could here. He nodded. We stood up, I told my family that we were going for a walk and would meet them at the station then we left the hall.

"What's the matter?" I laced my fingers through his as we walked on the grounds. It was a crisp morning, the sky was clear but the snow was still thick on the ground.

"The closer we get to the Christmas holidays the more stressed I get! My dads going to kill me!" He sighed running his hands through his hair. I pulled him into a hug.

"Why haven't you said anything before?" I whispered.

"Because your more important!" I took a step back.

"Scorpius, look at me. You are are just as important as me! We have three weeks off, we still have a little time before we tell them. You understand?" I asked. He nodded. "Lets go to the library, I need some books to read over the holidays". I took his hand and we walked slowly to the library.

I spent ages browsing through the shelfs. By the time I'd wandered through all the isles I had four books in my arms and Scorpius was carrying 6 more. "Do you really need this many books Rosie?" Scorpius asked.

"Yes! You know I'll read them!" I told him. I checked out all the books and put them in my bag, then I led Scorpius over to the sofas on the edge of the room. He flopped down on the sofa, I sat further down and rested my legs on his lap. I opened my book and began to read. Scorpius leaned back and closed his eyes, I watched him. I could see dark circles under his eyes, he'd clearly been loosing sleep.

Scorpius wasn't asleep, his breathing was to fast, but I left him though. I moved my feet off his lap and shook him gently. "Scorp? We should start making a move"

He opened his eyes, "What?"

"We should head to the station. The train will be here soon," He yawned and stood up.

"Ok. let me carry your bag Rosie,"

"I can manage!" I told him swinging it over my shoulder.

"There's like 10 books in there Ro!"

"I'm pregnant, not an invalid!" I exclaimed, we walked out of the library and onto the grounds. "Do you want to walk or take the carriages?"

"Let's take the carriages" We waited for a carriage to arrive and Scorpius helped me in. The bumpy ride down to the station didn't feel great. My head began to throb. "You ok?" Scorpius asked me.

"Yes. My heads just a bit sore," I told him.

We reached the station by quarter to 10, the train hadn't arrived so we sat on a bench further up the platform. "I don't think we should tell everyone until after Christmas and new years. I don't want to wreck it for everyone" I told Scorpius.

"Yes I agree, I don't think it'll go down to well with some people. It's a good thing my dad's parents aren't alive, then there really would be trouble." I could see how stressed Scorpius was. I'd not noticed it before, he always seemed so together. He was the strong one.

As it got closer to 10 more people started turning up. My family arrived to, they came and stood with us. We took up a lot of space. Hugo and Louis were sat on the ground for some reason, they looked strange with everyone's bags lying on the floor around them. James and Alice hadn't arrived yet.

Just before 1o the train rolled in, we climbed aboard. Roxanne and Dom picked a carriage and magically expanded it, they were the only ones that could do it to something that big. We all piled into the carriage. There was plenty of room for everyone.

I leant against the window and pulled a book out of my bag, Scorpius on my other side. The train pulled out of the station. We pulled through snowy Hogsmeade and out the other side. Soon we were racing through the country side.

My nausea returned and my hands went all shaky. I closed my eyes and pressed the side of my face into the cold window. "You ok?" Scorpius asked placing his hand on my leg.

"Yep, just a bit nauseous. I don't get it, I never get travel sick!" I complained. He laughed.

"Your not travel sick Rosie, your pregnant" He reminded me.

"Right," I smiled. "I'm going to try and sleep. Hopefully that will help," I closed my eyes again, blocking the sound of my relatives chatting and laughing.

I woke up a few hours later when I heard Alice and James come in. You could cut the tension in the carriage with a knife. I noticed they were holding hands and Frank was still looking grumpy.

"Hi guys" James said quietly. "Is it ok if we sit with you?"

"Of course Jay!" Lily cried, she grabbed her brothers hand and pulled them down next to her. Lily didn't notice how awkward James and Alice looked.

"James.." Al began but James cut him off.

"No Al, don't apologise to me. You need to apologise to Alice!" James told his brother.

"Your right, I owe you an apology too though James!" Al exclaimed.

"I don't care about me! It's Alice you need to apologise to!" Louis wolf whistled earning sniggers from all the boys except James, Frank and Al. Alice sat next to James her arms crossed.

"I don't need you to fight my battles James!"

"I know, Alice. I just want to protect you, I really care about you" James gripped her hands.

"You don't need to protect me, I'm a big girl Jamie!" She exclaimed. The rest of us looked around, anywhere but at them.

"I'm sorry Lizzie! Your right!" To my surprise he leaned in and kissed her, and she didn't pull away. They got closer to each other and the kiss deepened. I averted my eyes.

"Ok! That's enough you to!" Frank stood up and pulled them apart. Alice glared at her older brother.

"I'm sorry Alice, I shouldn't have placed that bet with Al! It wasn't fair on you!" Scorpius apologised.

"I'm sorry too Ali!" Al told her. The three of them stood up and embraced.

When they broke apart Scorpius came and sat back down, he looked much more relaxed now he'd sorted things out. "Are you two dating then?" I asked them trying to break the tension.

"I think so, we're just taking it slow for now." Alice told us. They sat hand in hand, Alice had her head rested on James's shoulder. They both looked happy.

"How much longer is the journey?" Hugo wined, he always hated the six hour journey, his ADHD really wasn't great for sitting still.

"Aw I know you don't like it Hu!" I ruffed his hair from where he was sat opposite me. "It's only a few more hours. I don't like the journey either."

"A few hours?! I can't sit still anymore, I'm going for a walk. Does anyone want to come?" Everyone shook their heads but I nodded, standing up.

We said goodbye and and left the carriage. I wanted to talk to my brother, I hadn't had a chance to speak to him in a long time.

"How are you Hugo? I feel like you've been avoiding me," I asked him as we walked along the train.

"I'm ok Rose. And I'm not ignoring you, I just don't really know how to act around you, I mean what do I say Rose?"

"We don't have to talk about me being pregnant you know? We can talk about anything! I'm your big sister Hugo, I'm always here to talk!" I told him.

"Thanks Rose" He gave me a hug.

We kept walking up the train until we reached the end when we turned around and headed back down to out carriage. We found our family near the back of the train and let our selfs into the carriage. James, Fred, Al and Scorpius were having an argument about who would win the quidditch cup this year.

"We have the better team!" James argued as we sat down.

"You don't!" Al cried.

"Oh yeah, about that Jay. I won't be able to play for much longer. You'll have to start looking for my replacement when we go back," I warned him.

"Oh, I completely forgot about that!" He pouted.

"Don't worry, I'll help you find and train the replacement." I assured him.

Soon the country side rushing past us changed from mountains and field to little towns to finally we were speeding through London.

"We will be reaching the platform in 10 minutes, please begin to gather your things," A voice echoed through the carriage overhead. We all began picking up food wrappers, exploding snap cards and books that had been strewn around the carriage during the long journey.

By the time we pulled into the station, we were all stood up with bags over our shoulders, just before we stopped we went to the cages at the end of the carriage to get our trunks. I insisted on carrying mine despite everyone's complaints.

We got off the train and our big group wandered towards our parents. Our father's were all there; My dad, Harry, Bill, Fred and Percy. I was pulled into a hug by Dad and Uncle Harry. We said goodbye to our friends, everyone except Scorpius was going to stay with their parents until the 23rd when they would come to stay at the burrow. We waved to Sophie, Noah, Emma, Alice, Frank, Lorcan and Lysander as they disappeared into the crowds of Platform nine and three quarters.

"Its so good to see you, Rosie!" Dad pulled me into another hug. I was actually quite close to my Dad, which is weird for teenage girls to say.

"I missed you too Dad," I looked at Scorpius, he was stood on the edge of the group looked awkward. Dad was watching him to, he walked towards Scorpius and stuck his hand out. I struggled not to laugh at Scorpius's expression. He took my Dads hand though and shook it.

"Come on, lets go. Grandma Molly is preparing a great welcome home dinner for you all" Uncle Harry shouted over us and began to herd us out of the station.
