There is not much in this chapter but I wanted to make several chapters a little more joyful than the previous ones, in the original series there is a lot of humor so I try to do a little bit of the same here. I hope you'll like it anyway.

Sam was always trying to find out who had sent Kara a text message and Kara was finding it harder and harder to hide the truth from Sam. She had only been working at the newspaper for a short time but Sam had been there for Kara since she had known her. She had become her anti-depressant friend because Sam's good mood radiated from every room she was in.

From the window of her office, Lena didn't lose a single crumb of the scene that was happening and that made her laugh. The lightness she felt at that moment hadn't happened to her in years. And she liked to feel it again, she was just madly in love, quite simply.

The love of her life was there, and she remembered everything now, and clearly, she had no trouble thinking that she would gladly spend her life by his side, and that one day she would officially be his wife.

This idea gave her a smile denying that no one knew her. But she was pulled out of her daydreams by Kara, who entered without even knocking on the door. She was a little panicked and spoke so fast that Lena didn't understand a single word.

Lena cautiously approached Kara and took both of her hands to calm her down and asked her to repeat a second time what she was saying because she hadn't understood a word she had said.

Eventually Kara explained the situation to her. Her friend, Sam, had challenged herself to guess who was the new chosen one in Kara's heart and who was giving her the smile that kept her in constant denial.

And she was determined not to give up until she had answers to her questions.

Lena wanted to burst out laughing, she had to bite her lips so as not to let her laughter burst out. This slightly irritated Kara, who, on the contrary, was worried.

But it's not funny! She won't give up until she finds out who I'm in love with

So you're in love? Lena asked, falsely interrogating and amused.

Then Lena got dangerously close to Kara who was backing away more and more, desperately trying to escape from Lena. Lena had decided not to make it easy for her, which both annoyed her and made her find it exciting. Of course, her pride would never admit that she enjoyed this little game between them more than necessary.

Kara was rescued from Lena by someone knocking on her office door. Lena asked the person to come in and it was Sam. She wanted the boss's approval for her article about the organized mob in National City, and she was convinced that one man was the master of the whole mob.

Lena read the article carefully, it was good, even excellent, and not only did she agree to it, but she picked up the phone and the article was on the front page the next morning.

Sam was a real pain in the ass, but above all she was an excellent journalist and Lena had no regrets about her decision to hire him.

It was only after a few seconds that Sam noticed Kara's presence. She looked at her with insistence and suspicion, then her gaze also fell on Lena, frowned, and then suddenly began to swallow under Kara's frightened gaze.

Then she finished coming out of Lena's office, as Lena had told her that she was now free to go. And Kara finally breathed to see her friend gone.

Lena, I think Sam understood for us, I saw it in her eyes Kara looked a little disappointed.

Don't worry, if Sam is really your friend she won't say anything. And anyway, the way you're looking at me, it shouldn't take long for the whole world to guess that we love each other passionately.

Kara was slightly ashamed of Lena's words, tinkering with the glasses because of the gene. But she knew that Lena was right, her smile had changed. She was just happy to have found the woman she loved again. And for the people close to her, it was bound to come out.

But no matter if they had decided not to say anything for the moment, she was happy, in her bubble, and the woman she loved loved loved her back, so how could she not feel her heart beating and be in a good mood from morning to night?

Kara finally got out of Lena's office to get back to work. She too was working on an article about the underworld and she suggested to Sam that they work together on it. Sam accepted without flinching.

But Sam wanted to know everything. However, it was no longer the mischievous Sam who spoke, but she spoke as Kara's friend.

Are you happy, Kara?

Yes, why do you ask?

Then why won't you tell me who you're dating?

Because it's none of your business!

So you're dating well?

But stop grrrr

And Lena agrees with you to keep your relationship a secret?

Of course she agrees

No sooner had she finished her words than she understood right away that she had just burned herself. For someone who had decided not to say anything about their reunion, it was a bad thing if everyone guessed everything just by looking at the two women Kara was thinking.

Oddly enough, Sam didn't bother her on the subject, just congratulated her friend and that the main thing was that she was happy. Kara thanked her friend for the attention, but asked her not to talk about it around her. Lena being the boss, this could cause a lot of chatter and for the moment she did not want to share her happiness with others.

You'll invite me to the wedding, she finally asked, making Kara blush more than she should have.

The rest of the day passed rather quietly, Kara and Sam doing their work, Kara sometimes slipping away to fulfill her role as Supergirl. She had saved the life of a newlywed couple who had thanked her warmly, starting to think about what her life would be like if she too was married...

At the end of the day, Lena was still in a meeting with shareholders. It was an important and necessary meeting and Lena was very focused on trying to convince the shareholders that a more aggressive editorial line was needed in order to expose the actions of the company. The shareholders were more reticent, not wanting to put their lives in danger, so they were actually afraid.

Lena was in the middle of a speech when she received a text message. Discreetly, she looked at the sender and saw that it was a message from Kara. She didn't want to read it, but in the end she couldn't help herself.

sms Kara: Dearest Lena, it's criminal to walk in front of me with underwear like that, I just want to walk into that meeting room and grab you wildly on the desk. PS: long live the x-ray of my XD vision.

Lena almost spilled her coffee at the sight of the sms, swallowing and becoming redder than the inside of an erupting volcano. This made Kara laugh and she didn't miss a crumb of Lena's reactions with her x-ray vision.

There, she had had her revenge, she thought before getting ready to go home.
