Katz looked out at the morning sun. "today is the day," he thought to himself as he stood outside of the mouth of the cave they had slept in.
Susan Shadows and Mole stood by his side as they overlooked Vein's prison from their position.
"Pretty minimalistic," Susan said as she observed the base through a pair of mini binoculars.
"It only appears that way, Katz said as he turned back into the cave, towards one of the crinkled up sheets of paper he had saved. On it laid a crude map of the base. "Our organization has been observing this place for a while but have never been able to get close enough. In addition, the council has no idea of this place. If they ever found out, they would bomb it to kingdom come without considering what or who is here. But," Katz said as he turned to Mole, "As you both know, this MOLE unit had infiltrated Vein's base during Zero's and Xero's last mission."
Susan looked over the map, "But I remind you," she said, "the info Mole gathered; specifically the EMP time documented, was not accurate."
"I thought about that," Katz countered. "While the EMP device time has changed, the prison base is not likely to change, and our infiltration is based purely on the base's schematics."
"So what is the plan?" Mole asked as he neared the map.
"According to the info gathered, all prisoners are held in separated, monitored 24/7, with only 1 hour of outside time a day, even then they are kept separate based on their relations to one another. Any key used is unique with no spares available."
"While that is a problem, have you considered how we are going to get in first?" Susan asked.
"Simple, we are going to break in through the water system. Showers in this base, due to its size, use larger pipes than usual. We should be able to melt through one of the pipes and slide into the security bathrooms. From there, we steal some garbs, then go after the key from there. We make a pair mold of the keys, upload an image loop into the cameras, make the key duplicates back here, return during the dead of night, free the Poppyfields, commandeer what transport we can, and leave before anyone knows we were here."
"That's your plan?" Susan asked as she processed his out there plan.
"Yea."
Susan thought for a moment, having to remind herself of the reward at the end of this mission; reuniting with her son. "I think it's a great plan," she said sarcastically, "and I'm excited to be a part of it," she said, trying to hide her doubt.
"Yea," Katz continued, "simple."
"Simple," Mole mumbled back as even his robotic mind found this plan to be complicated.
Katz turned back to the base. "Let's get going. We need to start the break-in process. It's not too early, so few guards are in the restroom areas during this time, not too late when more guards start to file in.
Susan doused out the fire as Katz and Mole started to walk towards the caves closer to the cave where they were expecting to find the water pipes that would lead them to the prison and toward the Poppyfields.
Unknown to any of them, also towards Baron Vein.
