Chapter twenty:

"We came to try to help save someone." Tamaki explains themselves to the old king. "He got possessed by an evil being. So we knew we have to stop him and get him back to normal."

"Please do forgive him for all of this." Haruhi adds looking at the old king pleadingly. "He is not in control of himself. Because of the dark being that managed to possess him."

"Is that why he seemed to be able to do things I couldn't explain?" The old king questions then gets nods from the two. He taps his chin in thought. "I thought something was strange. It did seem unnatural how he managed to take me down. It made me see that there was no way that I could stop it. So I tried to protect my family." He glances to his wife who is still refusing to look at him. He turns back to Haruhi and Tamaki. "Is it just the two of you?"

The three pause and look to a guard who passes by before turning around and heading back. They can tell that this guard is on patrol though they don't want to risk him overhearing them. They know that the last thing that they need is to give away what they are talking about.

There is no reason to tip "Kaoru" off too early about what is going on.

The guard continues on the patrol and heads off further down the dungeon area.

The three turn back to each other glad to see the guard had left for now.

"We have our other friends and the brother to the one who is possessed. We were trying to stop him before the entirety of Japan learns about what he has done." Tamaki explains to the old king who blinks worriedly at this.

"If it is broadcast to everyone then your friend won't be able to lead any sort of normal life. Everyone will find out what he has done and probably never will accept the explanation that he was possessed. It is a hard thing to accept or believe, though from what I had seen myself I believe you."

Haruhi starts to look for any weak spots in any of the bars. "Is there any way out that you know of?" She questions the old king as she continues to look for anything loose.

"If there is I don't know." The old king admits to Haruhi. "I don't usually come down here." He glances around his cell to try to see if he sees anything. "And with the guards knowing that they are under another's command it is too risky to ask for help. A lot of them just come into work and whoever is ruling they just do as told. Plus it is possible that fear has been installed into them that something could happen if they try to resist. If it wasn't for that I'd see if one of the guard could help us."

Haruhi is struggling to find any weak spot and believes that she might need to be a bit more creative. She doesn't want to give up hope that they will be able to make it out of this.

In the throne room….

"Kaoru" shoves Hikaru away smirking as the other hits the ground a bit hard after stumbling back a little. He moves forward and stands over the other who looks up to him letting their eyes meet one each others. "You cannot win. Just accept that he is long gone."

"Never." Hikaru glares at "Kaoru" then gets up to his feet in which the other takes a few steps back. "You the imposter will be long gone. I will get rid of you and get my brother back." He charges at the imposter wrapping his arms around said other as he tries to restrain him this way. "Kaoru!" He pleads for his brother hoping with all of his heart that his brother will be able to hear him. "Brother please, you can make it out. Fight this." He tries to keep a grip on the other who tries to struggle out of his grip. "I believe in you!" He tries to hold on for a bit longer then gasps as he is finally tossed off. He finds a gasp exiting his mouth as he falls to the ground hitting it a bit hard once more. He finds that this time the other places a foot on his side to help in keeping him down. He looks up into the others eyes as they glare down at him.

"You think that it took much work to get him to agree to be my host?" "Kaoru" questions keeping his eyes on Hikaru. "You are a true fool." He smirks down at the other who glares at him a little. "You didn't even realize how much he was suffering." He continues before the older twin can say anything to contradict his words. "He lived in your shadow. He was seen as nothing. He felt like no matter where he went he was an outsider."

"You're wrong." Hikaru protests only to be kicked in the stomach by the foot that had been on his side. He clutches his stomach from the blow. His eyes closed in pain from the kick.

"You remain in denial. So then tell me 'big brother'." "Kaoru" crouches by Hikaru who opens one eye to look at him. "Why was I the one to realize how he truly was feeling? While you still deny that you were too busy with your friends to see that he needed you?" He stands back up from the crouch. "Without a brother to actually care about him he had to find another thing. Drawing takes away plenty of time. A distraction from that he feels like he doesn't truly have anything. Outside to his family. Especially his brother. Then even being an outsider to your group of friends. I truly feel sorry for all of the pain that he had to go through."

"You're lying." Hikaru shuts his eyes tight though some images of his brother starts to appear looking unhappy. He clenches his hands into fists as he tries to break away from the images. He feels a heaviness enter his heart as it tries to question of whether or not the imposter is correct. He starts to think that maybe he really did miss how his brother was feeling. He opens his eyes and looks to the imposter who is smirking at him. He can see the confidence of what had been told to him. He finds that the look really is making him question if he truly did miss something so big. He looks down realizing that it is very possible that this was all caused by him. Maybe if he had been a better brother then maybe they wouldn't be here. He wants to try to shake it from his mind though he just a gets a nagging feeling in his heavy heart. "I am sorry Kaoru." He closes his eyes not trying to hide his tears. "I am so sorry I wasn't able to help you. That I was ignorant." He opens his eyes and looks tearfully into "Kaoru's" eyes hoping that his words will be able to reach down to the brother he truly loves. "You don't need this thing. Come back to me and we will figure it out. Together." He tries to flash a small smile to his brother despite the tears streaming down his face. "I promise."
