Here's the chapter! Like the title of the chapter says, there are some happy moments and sad moments. BTW the movie they watch is NOT real. I had to make it up because I could not for the LIFE of me find a good movie that I wanted that would... well you'll understand once you read lol. I hope this chapter is good. In the next chapter, it'll include the ending of this sleepover and some more drama between the Gaang and Azula.
Ashley Barbosa - I didn't think of that! When I read your review I face-palmed lol. But it's more interesting that Aang didn't dry Katara's jeans, so I guess that's good.
I just want to say, thank you. The review you guys/girls left is absolutely amazing. I know I say thank you every time I upload, but I do it because I mean it. So thank you again :)
I don't own ATLA or anything else in this story. Don't sue me.
Tuesday, September 1st
Sokka walked into his sister's room and laid his eyes upon their weird cuddling position.
"Katara, where's Aa-, wait, what's going on!" He exclaimed, trying to figure out why his best friend and sister are in each other's clothes.
"Shhhh! He's sleeping!" She yelled in a whisper. Sokka walked up to her and tried to figure out what he was looking at.
"Who's wearing that hoodie? And are your legs in his sweats? What is this?" He asked in a loud voice, which did not please Katara.
"Keep your voice down! We're just cuddling," She said, glaring at him.
"You two are so weird." He pointed out while pulling down on the collar of the hoodie to reveal Aang peacefully sleeping on her chest.
"What are you doing? Stop it! You're gonna wake him up!" She yelled in a whisper again. Sokka looked at his sister, then back at Aang, then back to his sister. He saw the death glare on her face and how she was holding him, like a protective mother hen. Sokka let out a laugh but made sure it wasn't too loud.
"You're such a mother hen, sis." He teased. Katara rolled her eyes before speaking.
"Whatever, get out. Whatever you need from Aang, he can do it after he wakes up," she said sternly.
"Sorry, sis, the basketball game is on and he needs to watch it so he can increase his IQ," he said.
"After he wakes up," She said sternly.
"Sis, I know this is a sleepover, but he can't sleep yet," He said while trying to shake Aang awake. However before he could lay a hand on him, he felt Katara smack his wrist.
"Not now!" She yelled in a whisper.
"Okay okay, jeez," He said while rubbing his wrist. When he rubbed his wrist, it reminded Katara of her promise to herself.
"I'm sorry for hitting you, Sokka. But please, 5 more minutes?" She asked gently. Sokka raised an eyebrow at his sister's apology.
"Umm, okay. Meet us in the living room," He said. Katara nodded and he left the room. Katara went back to slowly rubbing his back and feeling his muscles. "I'm the luckiest girl in the world… I wonder what our kids would look like… oh! What if one of our kids is an airbender? Imagine! A little Aang air scooting away! That would be so cute!" She thought while grinning like crazy. She spent the next 5 minutes imagining her future kids and their antics before she felt Aang stir. "Thank goodness, I don't think I had it in me to wake him up," She thought.
"Aang?" She said.
"Hmm?"
"Are you still sleepy?" She asked.
"No, that was a good power nap," He answered.
"Good, because Sokka wants you to watch the basketball game so you can learn," She said.
"Alright, but I'd rather stay here," He replied, earning a smile from Katara.
"Me too, but Sokka is gonna nag the hell out of me," She joked, making Aang chuckle.
"True," He said while trying to get out from under the hoodie. After a few moments of getting out of each other's clothes, Aang got up and stretched his back and shoulders. Katara was still wearing his hoodie, which meant he was shirtless. Katara stared at his defined abs, lean back, and pecks. Aang noticed this and smirked.
"You like what you see? It'll last longer if you take a picture," He said while standing up straighter. Katara blushed and looked away.
"Pshhh, I wasn't looking," She lied, earning a laugh from Aang.
"Then why are you blushing?" He asked.
"I'm not blushing," she said with the blush evident on her face.
"Hmm sureeeee," he said sarcastically. Katara rolled her eyes playfully and took off his hoodie and tossed it to him.
"Let's go watch the game," She said while getting out of bed and fix her hair in the mirror. Aang nodded and they left the room. They met Sokka in the hallway because he was on his way to his sister's room to retrieve Aang.
"There you are! Let's go, it's already the second half," Sokka said. Aang nodded and they went to the living room. Katara was following them, but Suki came out of Sokka's room and stopped her.
"Kat! Come with us," Suki said while waving her over.
"But… Aang," She said, still wanting to be with her boyfriend.
"What? Are you addicted to him? They're just gonna watch basketball," She joked with a laugh. Katara rolled her eyes and decided to just hang out with her friends instead of her boyfriend.
"Whatever," She said as she walked into Sokka's room. Mai and Zuko were on the bed while Suki was on Sokka's gaming chair and Toph was laying down on the floor.
"So did you and Aang make up?" Mai questioned.
"Yeah, he's still going to the tournament and I'm going to support him," She said.
"Good! Twinkles Toes is gonna wreck some kids! Other than me of course," She teased, earning a laugh from everyone.
"So I'm dying to know Kat, what's the real reason you and Aang took so long?" Suki asked, making Katara blush furiously.
"Because he sneezed! I swear!" She exclaimed, earning laughs from everyone.
"Then why are you blushing?" Suki asked. Katara didn't say anything and covered her face with her hands. She didn't really have a big problem talking about this sort of stuff anymore, but she didn't want to tell ZUKO. She was close with everyone in the Gaang, but talking about her sex life with another guy just didn't feel right.
"I think this is girl talk or whatever, so I'm gonna watch the game with Sokka," Zuko said while kissing Mai on the cheek and getting up to leave the room. Once he left and closed the door, everyone Mai and Suki looked at Katara.
"Alright, I'll guess I'll talk now that there are no boys," Katara said. Suki squeaked and jumped on the bed with Mai. Katara sat on the gaming chair.
"After we got the garlic and snacks we pulled over in an alleyway and… you know…. touched each other," She said with a blush, but it was getting easier and easier to talk about this type of stuff.
"Daaamn! In Sokka's car! Wow, Sugar Queen, when did you become such a rebel?" Toph asked.
"I'm not a rebel!" she defended herself.
"You couldn't just wait until you two were alone at Aang's house again?" Mai asked. Before Katara could answer, Suki spoke.
"By the way, Toph. Katara and Aang had sex Sunday," She said bluntly. Katara blushed again and prepared herself for some teasing.
"Damn! Okay, Sugar Queen! Didn't know Twinkle Toes had it in him. And does this mean you'll stop mothering him?" She teased, earning an eye roll from Katara.
"Whatever, Toph. The next time Gyatso is working is Sunday, I can't wait that long, I-I just wanted him so badly." She confessed, earning a laugh from her friends.
"Yeah, it was like that for me at the beginning with Zuko, too, but you get over it… kinda," Mai said.
"What do you mean kinda?" Katara asked.
"Your urges never go away, you just find better ways to deal with it, like masturbating," Mai answered.
"Masturbating is cheating," She said sternly.
"What? That doesn't make sense," Suki replied.
"Well, the masturbating part isn't cheating, but masturbating to other guys is," She said, clearing up everyone's confusion.
"Well duh, that's why you masturbate to your boyfriend," Mai said.
"And how am I supposed to do that? I don't have many pictures of him and I don't think it's possible to finish without seeing him," She pointed out.
"Oh no! You can't see him! What a nightmare!" Toph said sarcastically, earning a laugh from everyone.
"Sorry," Katara replied after her laughter.
"This isn't rocket science, Kat. Just send each other nudes and boom! You can satisfy your urges," Suki said while sitting up.
"I can't ask Aang for nudes!" Katara exclaimed.
"What are you talking about? Of course, you can," Mai chimed in.
"But what if he thinks I'm a perv?" She asked.
"You can't be for real, Kat. You're not a perv for wanting to see your boyfriend naked," Suki said. Katara sighed before speaking.
"I guess you're right. I think it's because so many guys asked me for nudes that I just assumed if anyone asked then they're perverted." Katara confessed.
"Those guys are definitely pervs, but asking your boyfriend for nudes is normal, trust me," Mai said, earning a nod of agreement from Suki.
"But how do I ask for nudes? Do I just text him out of nowhere, 'send me nudes'?" Katara asked.
"Just start out with sending some pictures of yourself, nothing too crazy, just a selfie or a picture of a new outfit you got. Hopefully, he'll get the hint and start sending you pictures of himself, then start showing more and more skin. He'll get the hint eventually." Suki advised. Katara sat there for a moment with her hand on her chin in deep thought.
"Okay, I'll do that," She replied. There was a silent pause before Suki's eyes widened and she squealed.
"What a second! You came home with soaked jeans! It's because of what you two did in Sokka's car!" Suki basically yelled. Katara turned into a tomato and tackled her friend.
"Suki! Keep your voice down! If Sokka finds out he'll literally kill Aang!" She yelled ina whisper. Suki giggled and nodded so that Katara could get off of her.
"So what else happened? Did y'all 'make love,'" Suki teased. Katara blushed again and groaned.
"No, we didn't have sex… I wish we did, but he didn't have a condom," She answered, earning giggles from her friends.
"You have to tell him to carry condoms on him at all times," Suki advised.
"Or you could go on birth control," Mai chimed in.
"That too," Suki agreed. Katara thought for a moment, "Going on birth control would be convenient because all we need is privacy, but getting birth control and going to the doctor is going to be awkward with dad, maybe I could go with Gran."
"I might...but it was so frustrating when he said he didn't have one, but like I said, we ended up doing other things…" She trailed off, blushing like crazy.
"What kind of touching did you two do?" Suki said in a teasing tone.
"Like… he fingered me and I ended up… squirting," She said, blushing like mad. Everyone giggled except Toph, she was more dumbfounded because she never really had these conversations before.
"Damn, Sugar Queen! You're a squirter!" Toph yelled.
"Toph! Keep it down!" Katara scolded.
"My bad, but damn I guess Aang knows what he's doing. That damn airbender," Toph said with a chuckle, earning giggles from Mai and Suki.
"Don't worry that's normal," Mai said after their giggles. Katara rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"I'm not a child, Mai. I know it's normal, I just didn't expect it," She said, earning more giggles.
"So did you try what I told you about?" Mai asked curiously.
"What'd you say?" Toph asked, a little confused.
"A way to make Aang moan," Mai answered, earning a blush from Katara, but it was getting better.
"What the hell? You guys are so weird," Toph said while shaking her head, making Suki laugh.
"I did try it, and he went crazy," Katara said proudly.
"I bet he did, I going to try on Sokka and see if he goes crazy," Suki thought out loud. Katara gagged and tried to think of anything other than her best friend and stinky brother being intimate. Suki noticed this and giggled.
"Sorry, Kat," She apologized.
"It's fine, I'm happy you two are together because he's less annoying," Katara replied. The girls continued to talk about random things for 45 minutes until Aang, Sokka and Zuko returned.
"Game's over, and Aang actually is learning a lot." Sokka pointed out while Katara got out of his gaming chair so he could sit.
"That's good, I can't wait to see you play," Katara told Aang with a smile.
"That's if I make the team," Aang replied.
"You'll make it, bro," Sokka reassured him. Aang nodded and saw his girlfriend sitting on Sokka's bed with her feet dangling over the floor. Sokka's bed was quite high so her feet didn't reach the ground. He smiled and decided to sit between her legs on the floor with his back leaning on the bed. Sokka and Zuko started up the Xbox and opened Call of Duty.
"You want to play, Aang?" Sokka questioned, wondering if his best friend still didn't kill anything on video games.
"Can I play without killing anyone?" Aang questioned, earning giggles from everyone except Sokka, he just rolled his eyes.
"It's Call of Duty, all you do is kill," Sokka replied.
"Then no," Aang said, earning more laughter from everyone.
"What's so funny?" He asked with a smile creeping on his face.
"It's just that… like if I had your strength and height, I would be tossing people around!" Zuko exclaimed, earning a laugh from everyone.
"Exactly!" Sokka agreed.
"Freaking Twinkle Toes, do you even have a spine?" Toph joked, making her friends laugh.
"Hey, if he doesn't want to kill in a video game, then let him be," Katara defended her man while kissing the top of his bald head.
"Soft as a pillow," Toph said while shaking her head, "Too bad I'm going to utterly destroy him at the bending tournament." She thought.
"Thanks, Katara," Aang said with a smile. He leaned back with his head leaning on her womanhood, but before he could think about anything sexual about his girlfriend, he felt something poking his lower back. He raised an eyebrow and turned around to look under the bed to see a clear bin.
"Hey what's this?" He said while scooting back so he could pull the clear bin out from under the bed. Sokka looked back and recognized it instantly.
"Oh, those are my old legos, I should throw them out. They've been collecting dust for like 8 years." Sokka answered.
"Legos! I love legos!" Aang exclaimed with a goofy grin on his face. He used his airbending to blow the dust off, creating a small dust cloud in the room.
"Ah! Aang!" Katara exclaimed while waving her hand to clear the dust from her face. After a few moments, it settled and went back to normal.
"Sorry," He said sheepishly while kissing her knee. He began digging around in the bin and started putting pieces together. His eyes were wide and stuck out a small part of his tongue over his right upper lip. Katara couldn't help but smile at the sight of her boyfriend having so much fun. Suki giggled and leaned into Katara's ear to whisper something.
"You're dating a literal child," She joked, making Katara laugh.
"He isn't a child, he's just goofy," Katara replied with a smile.
"Katara, look! I made a spaceship!" He said loudly while holding up his lego space ship. Katara smiled and nodded. "This goof… I swear how can he go from making me squirt to playing with legos?" Katara thought. Zuko looked back and saw his best friend showing his other best friend a lego spaceship and rolled his eyes.
"I can't believe this," He said in a moody tone.
"Me either, I thought he would be a challenge for me at the bending tournament, but if I lose to a lego loving, non-killing, Air nomad, then I'll be so disappointed in myself," Toph told Zuko in a low voice so that only he heard. Zuko chuckled.
"Yeah, I'll roast you forever," Zuko joked, making Toph laugh.
"Normally I'd roast you back, but there's no way I'm losing to that animal lover," Toph replied. Zuko chuckled and went back to playing video games.
"Katara! Play with me!" Aang ordered.
"Aang, I don't know how to play with legos, and plus, don't you think we're a little too old for that?" Katara asked, but for some reason, she really wanted to play with Aang.
"You could never be too old for legos," Aang argued. Katara smiled and decided to join him. She got up and saw that Sokka's room was cleaner than usual, but it was still kinda cluttered, and with 5 other people in the room it was crowded.
"Let's play in my room," She said while walking towards the door. Aang nodded and picked up the bin full of legos and went to his girlfriend's room eagerly. Once they arrived they sat on her bed with the bin in between them.
"Okay, goofball. I never really played with these so don't make fun of what I make," She said while digging into the bin.
"I never played with them too much either, we could never afford them," Aang replied while adding more to his spaceship. Katara frowned slightly. She always felt bad every time Aang talked about his struggles with money.
"I'm sorry to hear that, Aang. Did you get to play with any other toys?" She asked in a soft voice. Aang didn't notice that his girlfriend was feeling bad for him because he was having too much fun.
"Yeah, I had these four toys that I absolutely loved. When I was little my mom brought me to the temple where the head monks lived. They gave away free toys to everyone and I picked these four." Aang said while adding more legos to his spaceship.
"What kind of toys were they?" She asked curiously.
"A stuffed turtle duck, a little propeller thingy where you pull a string and it flies away, Ummm a hog monkey, and a wooden hand drum," He answered.
"Oh, those are interesting toys, do you have them still?" She asked as she began sticking random lego pieces together.
"No… I only got to play with them for a day or two." He confessed.
"What? Why?" Katara asked, for some reason his little story about toys was really interesting for her.
"I don't know, my mom said it was because they were broken, so she gave them back to the head monks," He said while shrugging his shoulders.
"Oh… that sucks," She said with empathy.
"It's okay, they're just toys. Plus, my air buddies had toys and they let me play with them all the time," Aang replied. Katara nodded and they continued to play with legos, but little did they know, those toys would determine Aang's future for the rest of his life.
After 30 minutes of playing and Aang making fun of Katara's lego creations, they decided to take a little break. After Aang set the bin on the floor, he looked around his girlfriend's room and spoke.
"You know, I've been in here a lot, but I really never took a look around," He thought out loud.
"Well, there's nothing special, you already know everything," She replied.
"No, I don't," Aang argued.
"What do you mean? Like you said, you've been inside here a lot, there's nothing else to know really," She countered. Aang paused for a moment before speaking. He had an evil grin on his face.
"Just because I've been inside your room a lot, doesn't mean I know everything," He fired back.
"Well, maybe not everything, but there's nothing else to know about," Katara replied while looking around her room to find something to tell her boyfriend about. In reality, there was a lot for her to show Aang, but she couldn't think of any at the time.
"Well… I've been inside you, and I don't know everything about you," He teased with an evil grin. Katara blushed furiously and smacked her boyfriend on the shoulder playfully.
"Aang! Don't say that!" She exclaimed while laughing. Aang joined her laughter and felt proud of making his girlfriend laugh. Her laughter always made him feel like he was flying.
"What? It's true," He said after they came down from their laughter.
"Okay, okay I see your point, what do you want to know?" She asked curiously.
"Let's start with your closet," He said while getting up and walking to her closet. Katara followed him and opened her closet door.
"There's just my clothes, shoes, all my old school work, and some nick nacks," She said while pointing to each of the objects she listed.
"You keep all your old school work?" He asked curiously.
"Yeah, for memories," She answered.
"Why would you want to remember school?" he said with a laugh, earning a laugh from Katara. She rolled her eyes playfully before speaking.
"It's not just that, I like to see how much I grew over the years," She replied. Aang smiled.
"Ohh okay, that makes sense... weirdo," He teased.
"Says the one playing with legos like a little kid," She teased back with a laugh.
"Hey, you joined me, and you had fun," He argued with a laugh of his own. Katara tried to come up with another thing to tease him about, but he was right about her having fun.
"Fine," She said while seeing Aang look through her clothes. He began pulling out shirts and dresses with the hanger still hooked on the bar. He didn't want to take the shirts and dresses of the bar completely because he felt like he would disorganize her closet.
"Which one is your favorite?" Katara asked curiously.
"Are you asking me which shirt I like the best? Or which shirt looks the best on you?" He asked.
"Which shirt or dress do you think would look the best on me?" She specified. Aang thought for a moment and looked at all her shirts and dresses. An idea popped into his mind and he smirked.
"This one," He said while handing her a single hanger. Katara accepted it and raised an eyebrow.
"This is just a hanger," She pointed out.
"I know," he said with an evil grin. Katara raised her eyebrow even higher to show her confusion.
"Aang, I asked with clothes looked the best on me, and you handed me a hanger with no cloth-" She cut herself off and finally understood what her boyfriend was trying to say. She blushed furiously Aang and smacked her boyfriend on the arm playfully again.
"AANG! Your favorite outfit is me naked?!" She exclaimed, making Aang burst out into laughter.
"Of course," He said like it's no big deal. Katara blushed again and laughed.
"I can't believe you, Aang. When did you become such a pervert? First the comment about you being inside me and now this? Aang!" She tried to scold, but she was having too much fun. Aang laughed again before speaking.
"Woah, I'm not a pervert, I'm just telling you the truth. You look the most beautiful when wearing nothing," He confessed, making Katara blush and feel butterflies in her stomach.
"Okay, maybe 'pervert' isn't the word to describe you. You're more like… like… horny! You're horny!" She teased with a laugh.
"What?!" he said, ready to defend himself, but he saw Katara's smirk and nodded in defeat.
"Okay, okay, maybe I'm a little horny, but you're hornier than me!" He argued.
"What?! No way!" She countered.
"Yes, way!" He fired back.
"Prove it!" She demanded. Aang thought for a moment and snapped his fingers once he remembered an example.
"Remember when we were coming back from the store? You were all like, 'Aang! Pullover in that alleyway and make love to me!'' He said, mimicking his girlfriend's voice. Katara blushed furiously and tried to cover her face with her hands.
"I didn't say that!" She tried defending herself, but she knew she did say that.
"Yes, you did! And then you were all like "Please, Aang! I can't take it anymore!" He said, mimicking her voice again.
"Aang! Stop it!" She said while laughing and hiding her blush with her hands.
"Touch me, Aang! I'm aching! Please, Aang!" He teased, even further.
"Aang! Stop teasing me! Or else!" She said, trying to look threatening, but she was having way too much fun.
"Or else what?" He replied with a smirk.
"Or else!... I'll…" She tried to answer, but she couldn't think of anything.
"I'm waiting," He said with a smirk. Katara narrowed her eyes and smirked when she figured out what to say.
"Or else you ain't getting any on Sunday," She said while crossing her arms. Aang raised an eyebrow in confusion.
"I'm not getting any of what?" He asked curiously.
"Not getting any of this," She said seductively while turning around and sticking her butt out. Aang's eyes widened and he finally understood what she was saying. He blushed furiously. Katara's butt was one of Aang's favorite parts of her body. It wasn't too big and it had a perfect shape.
"Or any of this," She added while turning back around and took off her blouse so that she was only in her bra. She pushed her boobs together and leaned forward a little to show her cleavage. Aang gulped and felt himself growing. "Damn it! Why does she have to have such a perfect body!" He thought. He gulped again and saw his girlfriend turn around.
"Whoops, did I drop something?" She said innocently. She made sure to bend over right in front of him. Aang still wasn't saying anything and Katara decided to bring out the big guns. She unbuttoned her skinny jeans and pulled down the zipper. She began wiggling out of her skinny jeans while still bending over. Aang gulped again and shook his head to regain his senses.
"Okay! Okay! You win! I won't tease you anymore," He caved in. Katara smirked and stood up straight. She fixed her skinny jeans and put her blouse back on. He tried to get rid of the blush on his face.
"You're evil," Aang confessed while readjusting himself.
"You shouldn't have teased me," She replied with a smirk. Aang narrowed his eyes slightly. Usually, he would give his girlfriend the win, but being around her a lot made him more competitive.
"I can play this game, too," He said while taking off his hoodie and flexing his muscles. Katara blushed and looked away before she could fall into his trap.
"Oh come on, Katara. I know you want to look," He said in a sing-song voice. He began to flex his pecs individually. Katara tried to not look, but his defined abs and shoulders were too sexy for her. She glanced for a moment and saw him moving his pecs individually and laughed. This wasn't the reaction he was expecting and stopped.
"What? I thought you would find that hot," He pointed out. Katara looked away so she couldn't get sucked in by his muscles.
"It's sexy, but funny too, I didn't know you could do that," She answered.
"Oh… well, I think it's pretty hot in here. Do you mind if I keep my hoodie off? Because you know, you're less horny than me so you could handle it," He said sarcastically. Katara blushed but was too stubborn to admit defeat.
"Of course I don't mind," She said as confidently as she could.
"Good," he replied while walking in front of her and pulling his sweats down slightly to reveal the V on his hips and waist. Katara blushed again, but she couldn't take her eyes off his muscular body. She let out a shaky breath and forced herself to look away.
"Put your hoodie on," She said in a low voice.
"What? I can't hear you," Aang lied.
"Put your stupid hoodie on," She said a little louder. Aang smirked and did as he was told.
"That was fun," Katara confessed. She did have a lot of fun with their little teasing competition.
"It was, but I can't wait until Sunday… assuming you're still down for it?" Aang asked, hoping she'd say yes. Katara giggled and walked closer to her boyfriend.
"Of course I am, but only if you admit defeat," She teased. Aang chuckled before speaking.
"Fine, I admit defeat," He replied, making Katara smile wide.
"Do you still want to explore my room?" She asked curiously.
"Of course," He replied as they turned to face her closet. He began looking in the corners of the closet and found a wooden box with a lock on it.
"What's this?" He asked as he grabbed the wooden box. Katara blushed furiously and tried to play it off.
"Oh it's n-nothing," She said while grabbing the box and putting it back to its original place. Aang raised an eyebrow and his curiosity was piqued.
"Why are you blushing? Come on, let me see what's inside," He said while reaching for the box, but he was stopped when Katara grabbed his wrist firmly.
"No! It's… it's embarrassing," She confessed, making Aang smile. "I knew I should have thrown it away," She thought.
"Come on, beautiful, it can't be that bad," Aang comforted. He saw that his girlfriend was still blushing.
"Please?" He asked politely with his crooked grin. Katara looked at him and then back at the box and sighed in defeat.
"Fine, but I swear if you tease me, you'll regret it," She said sternly.
"I won't," he replied as she went to her dresser to retrieve the key that was under all of her bras. Once she had it, she grabbed the box and went to sit on her bed. Aang followed her and sat on the bed excitedly. She put the key in the wooden box and she was about to turn it before she thought of something.
"Wait, if I do this then you owe me something," She said, trying to stall the inevitable.
"Owe you what?" Aang asked.
"You have to tell me a secret no one else knows because no one knows about this," She answered. Aang sat there and thought for a moment before speaking.
"Okay, but I have to know what's in here first," He said.
"Fair enough," she replied as she opened the box. Aang looked inside eagerly and saw a book with a bunch of hearts on it. Aang had a pretty good idea of what it was.
"No way… it's like the movies where the girl has a diary," He slightly teased, hoping she wouldn't get mad. Katara blushed but was ready to get this off of her chest.
"This isn't a diary," She replied, making Aang more interested.
"It's not? Then what is it?" He asked as he grabbed the book. He looked at Katara before opening it.
"Katara, why are you so nervous?" He said with a chuckle.
"It's embarrassing. I'm going to throw it out after this," She admitted, making Aang chuckled again. He shook his head and opened the book to read out loud.
"Requirements for a boyfriend?" He said a laugh. Now he was REALLY interested.
"Shut up! You said you wouldn't tease me," She said, covering her face with her hands to hide her blush.
"Sorry… when did you write this?," He asked.
"At the end of freshman year," She answered, preparing herself for when she reads the rest. "I can't believe this is happening,"
"Requirement number one: 'He must be taller than me, preferably 5'9+' Well, I meant that criteria," He said with a laugh.
"Requirement number two: 'He has to be funny and sweet,' I hope I satisfied that requirement," He said with another laugh, making Katara giggle.
"You did," She replied with a smile.
"Requirement number three: 'He has to care about his health, he doesn't have to be muscular, but he can't be lazy and eat junk food all day,' I definitely care about my health," He said, liking that he was basically everything Katara asked for.
"Requirement number four: 'He can't be a perv and he has to be loyal' I'm loyal, but apparently I'm super horny," He joked with a laugh, making Katara giggle.
"But that's okay," She said after her laughter, making Aang chuckle.
"Requirement number 5: 'He has to be a gentleman, respect me and my boundaries, and be honest,' I've been told I'm pretty gentle, and I officially turned into a man last Saturday, so I guess that classifies me as a gentleman," He said as he turned the page again. Katara giggled and thought, "This isn't so bad,"
"Not requirements, but preferences. Preference number one: 'I prefer he be from the Southern Water Tribe, NOT the Northern water tribe.' Why not the North?" He asked curiously.
"Because they're sexist up there, and nothing pisses me off more than sexism," She said sternly.
"Ohh okay, that makes sense," He said with a chuckle. He loved how much she was passionate about things.
"Preference number two: 'I prefer he have blue eyes like mine, (so our babies have blue eyes) and that he has tan skin like mine," He read out loud, he frowned slightly, but Katara didn't notice it.
"Preference number three: 'Nothing turns me on like a head of nice and well-kept hair. I prefer if he has a traditional Southern Water Tribe hairstyle," He read out loud again, he frowned slightly again, and this time Katara noticed it.
"Preference number four: 'I prefer no body modifications, like piercings, gages, and tattoos," He read out loud again. Now he had a full-on frown and before Katara could reassure him that his tattoos were an exception, Aang read the next part.
"Preference number five: 'I prefer if he was skilled in hunting, so he could go on traditional water tribe hunting trips,"
"Preference number six, 'I prefer if he was a waterbender so we could practice together."
"Preference number seven: 'I pref-" He was cut off when Katara took the book out of his hands.
"What? I wasn't done reading," He said with the frown still on his face.
"I know, but I can see the hurt on your face and I don't want you to think I settled for you because I didn't," She said truthfully.
"But I didn't even satisfy one of your preferences," He argued.
"But they're just preferences, they don't matter too much. Plus, you satisfied all the requirements. It's okay," She comforted while putting a hand on his knee.
"Then why does it feel like it's not okay?" He pouted.
"Aang, those are my old preferences. Do you know what my new ones are?... I prefer he has arrow tattoos… I prefer he be bald… I prefer if he was so sweet and gentle he won't even kill in a video game…" She trailed off while scooting closer to him. Aang felt a little better, but he wasn't 100 percent yet.
"And he has to be super funny," She added. She saw her boyfriend's face and noticed he wasn't 100 percent cheered up yet. She leaned into his ear and he felt her cool breath tickle his ear.
"This is a requirement… he has to be amazing in bed," She whispered with a smirk. Aang felt goosebumps all over his body. Now he was smiling and blushing like crazy.
"Are you just saying that?" He asked curiously.
'No, Aang. I mean it. I didn't settle for you." She said truthfully.
"D-do I satisfy your new preferences and requirements?" He asked.
"More than satisfying, Aang. You're amazing. I love you so much," She said as she pulled away to look into his grey eyes.
"I love you, too," He replied with a smile. She leaned in for a kiss and Aang happily kissed her back. It wasn't filled with lust or need, just love. After a moment, they pulled away and smiled at each other.
"What made you write this in the first place?" He asked as he grabbed the book.
"I don't remember… I think I was just bored," She answered. Aang looked at her a bit skeptical.
"Why'd you keep it?" He asked while opening the book. He felt much more confident and he didn't care what other preferences she put because he knew she loved him and that's all that matters. Katara blushed slightly at his question.
"Well… I was really obsessed with romantic movies and tropes… I never told anyone this but I sometimes fantasize about my future marriage and how many kids I'm going to have. And I wanted to find a boyfriend, but I know there's a lot of players out there so I made a list of requirements so I don't get played," She said, blushing like mad. Aang smiled at Katara.
"How many kids do you want?" He asked curiously.
"Three." She said with a smile and a blush.
"I think that's perfect," He said, matching her smile. Aang was about to read further, but a thought popped into his mind.
"I… I hope I don't upset you with this question, but… what did Jet do to make you hate him?" He asked cautiously. This came out of nowhere for Katara. She frowned and sighed before speaking.
"He asked for me to take nudes of myself and send it to him," She said with anger in her voice. Aang clenched his jaw and felt himself get angry.
"Jet makes me so damn furious, and I don't get mad easily," He said sternly.
"Oh trust me, he pisses me off too," She agreed. Aang took a deep breath to release his anger.
"I have another question… What other guys did you have a crush on?" He asked curiously.
"Why do you want to know that?" She asked.
"I don't know… I'm just curious. Plus, I can make it clear to them that we're together," He answered, making Katara smile.
"Aang? Are you jealous?" She teased.
"What? No, of course not," He semi-lied.
"Hmmm I think you're jealous," She teased again.
"I'm not… I-I… just want you all to myself," He replied with a blush on his face.
"Hmmm, what do you mean by that?" She asked curiously, hoping he wouldn't be the crazy jealous type.
"I don't want you to have other relationships with guys," He answered.
"So I can't have male friends?" She questioned while crossing her arms.
"No, no, no, of course, you can have guy friends, I just mean I don't want you to have other romantic relationships," He cleared up. Katara un-crossed her arms and laughed.
"Well, duh, you goof. I don't want you to have other romantic relationships either," She said with a smile.
"You don't have to worry about that, trust me. But those other guys need to know that you're not interested in them romantically, and you never answered the question," He replied, feeling relieved.
"So do Meng, On Ji, and Koko. If they don't back off I swear I'll fight them," She joked, but not really. Aang let out a good laugh.
"But I had crushes on, Jet, ugh that's my biggest regret. I had a crush on Haru for a little while, and… I had a crush on Teo, but that was when I was in middle school, and my biggest crush was on you," She answered.
"You had a crush on Haru and Teo?" He said in an astonished voice.
"Yeah… they're both nice and they don't seem like players, but Haru is kinda… well… boring, his sense of humor is a little dry. And Teo's sense of humor is a bit odd, he's really nice, but I can't get over how… weird he is sometimes," she said with a chuckle, making Aang laugh.
"I agree, he's cool, but does him being in a wheelchair change your view of him at all?" He asked curiously.
"Not really, he radiates confidence and he doesn't seem bothered by it at all, and I found that attractive," She answered.
"Ohhh… but you find me more attractive, right?" He joked with a smile. Katara rolled her eyes playfully.
"Aang, you're the sexiest, hottest, most handsome guy in the universe. I find you so attractive, it hurts," She replied truthfully while biting her lip, making Aang blush.
"One more thing, Aang. I love how goofy you are. It's honestly one of my favorite things about you," She said truthfully.
"Really? Why?" He asked curiously.
"Well… because it's funny, but I think it's more than that," She replied. She spent a moment gathering her thoughts before speaking. Aang waited for her patiently. Katara let out a breath she didn't know she was holding before speaking.
"When my mom died… it left a huge hole in my family. I saw how hard Dad was working and I saw Sokka hiding in his room every day. I felt… alone, and we were falling apart. I decided to bottle up all my emotions and be strong for my family. I filled the hole my mom left behind. I started doing all the chores, I made Sokka get off his ass and start doing good in school. I cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner." She said while looking down and fidgeting with the blanket.
"By filling that hole I missed out on a lot of my childhood. I was too busy keeping my family from falling apart… My point is that whenever you goof off, like playing with legos or doing that stupid walk at the store… I feel like I'm getting my childhood back," She said with a smile and a few tears fall down her face. Aang felt incredibly touched and brought Katara into a warm hug. She returned his embrace and buried her face into his neck,
"You're talking like your childhood is over… You're still a kid and so am I, well not kids but we're still not full-blown adults," He said in a low voice.
"I know… but I forget sometimes. I'm glad you're here to remind me," She replied while taking in Aang's scent. She smelled his cologne, but she always got a hint of peaches.
"You smell like peaches," She pointed out, making Aang bury his face in her hair.
"Really? Peaches are one of my favorite fruits," He replied while sniffing her hair.
"I like peaches too," She said as she started peppering kisses on his neck.
"Hmm, you taste like peaches," She hummed. Aang smiled and enjoyed his girlfriend peppering kisses on his neck. Katara's small and light kisses turned into more intense kisses. She began sucking lightly on his neck. Katara felt the fire form in her center and moved her positioning to straddle him. Aang was a bit startled, but he let it happen. He rested his hands on her hips and felt his girlfriend begin to grind her hips on him while still leaving him hickies. "And I'm the one who's hornier," He thought with a smirk. After a moment, Katara pulled away while still grinding her hips on her boyfriend.
"Aang, kiss m-" She was about to plead for him to return the favor, but she saw the teasing smirk on his face and quickly got off of him and let out a shaky breath. She forced herself to relax and tried to act like she wasn't horny. After letting out another shaky breath, she looked at her boyfriend again, and he still had that stupid smirk on his face.
"Shut up," She said with a blush on her face.
"What? I didn't even say anything," He said with a laugh.
"I know what you're thinking because of that stupid smirk." She replied while trying to get the blush off of her face. Aang didn't say anything. He didn't have to say anything because she was caught being hornier than him. Katara looked at him again and he still had that smirk on his face.
"Oh my goodness, Aang! Stop it!" She said with a laugh, making Aang burst out into laughter.
"I'm just saying," he said while shrugging his shoulders, "I think we both know who's hornier," He teased.
"Do I have to do it again?" She asked, but before he could respond, she leaned forward and pulled down her blouse and bra so it could reveal her boobs. Her nipples weren't showing, but if she pulled it down a little bit more, they would. she pushed her boobs together to emphasize her cleavage.. Aang was about to apologize, but Sokka opened her door to see his sister pushing her boobs together in front of Aang.
"AHHH!" He yelled.
"SOKKA!" She yelled while immediately taking her hands off of her boobs and pulling her blouse up. She blushed out of embarrassment and Aang gulped. He was nervous Sokka would be mad at him.
"WHY!? My eyes! My eyes!" He yelled while covering his eyes with his hands.
"Have you ever heard of knocking!" She scolded.
"This door should be open anyway!" he argued while turning around and heading to the bathroom to wash his eyes out with soap. Katara quickly followed him and closed the door to the restroom.
"Sokka! Knock next time!" She scolded again. Sokka ignore her and turned on the faucet and grabbed some soap.
"I'm scarred for life," He said as he let the water wet his hands and the soap gain moisture. He was about to put the soap and water in his eyes, but Katara grabbed his wrist firmly.
"Sokka! Don't be dumb!" She said sternly.
"But I want to forget everything I saw!" he argued.
"Soap isn't going to solve that!" She fired back.
"Ughhhhhh, why were you doing that? Huh?!" He said while drying his hands with a rag.
"It doesn't matter! It's none of your business," She answered.
"Ugh, whatever, I was just going to tell you that we're watching a movie in the living room. And keep the oogies to a minimum! Gran and Dad are watching it with us," He said while walking past his sister to open the bathroom door, but he was stopped by Katara.
"Wait! Don't tell dad or Gran about what you saw," She begged.
"Trust me, sis, I won't, because if I did tell them, that means I have to remember you… you know," He said while gagging. Katara let out a sigh of relief and nodded. Sokka opened the door and left for the living room. Katara went back to Aang's room to see him fidgeting with her blanket nervously.
"Is he mad?" Aang asked immediately.
"No, he's just an idiot. Let's go to the living room, we're watching a movie," She said while waving him over. Aang let out a sigh of relief and got up from her bed.
"Is it going to be a scary one?" He asked.
"I don't know, but if we can choose then I'll won't pick a scary one," She comforted. Aang nodded and went to the living room. The whole Gaang was there, Zuko and Mai were on the right side of the couch. Sokka and Suki were on the left, and Toph was in the middle of the floor. Hakoda had decided to move the coffee table aside so that the middle of the living room had a lot of space. There were already blankets and pillows on the floor. Katara and Aang laid out a blanket and covered themselves with another blanket. They were all cuddled up and ready to watch a movie.
"So what movie are we watching?" Katara asked.
"It's a thriller. It's about a family that is torn apart," Gran answered.
"What's it called?" Sokka asked.
"You Can't Leave," She answered her grandson. Everyone nodded and got ready to watch the movie. Except for Toph, she put her headphones on that described the movie. Everyone was cuddled up with their loved ones, except for Hakoda, Gran, and Toph. The movie was about an abusive father who abused his son and daughter, but the mother is stubborn and still loves her husband and thinks she can change him, but it doesn't work and the family is torn apart. The son and daughter finally convince their mother to divorce him and it ends with the father being arrested. It had a happy ending, but there were scenes of violence.
About 30 minutes into it, the first scene of the father abusing his children plays. It starts off with verbal abuse.
"I said you can' leave! You reckless child! I should've forced your mother to abort you!" The horrible father yelled at his son. Aang frowned, he didn't like where this was going.
"I can't believe a father would say that to their children," Hakoda said with anger. He loved his children way too much and the thought of aborting them made him sad and angry. Everyone's body language agreed with Hakoda. Aang squeezed Katara, in an attempt to calm his nerves.
"You're not the boss of me! I hate you!" The son yelled at his father.
"You hate me?! I'll give you a reason to hate me!" The abusive father yelled back. He smacked his son across the face, knocking him to the ground.
"OW! Stop it, Dad, please!" He begged while crying. The abusive father ignored his plea and took off his belt and began whipping his son. He hit him over and over and over. Each time the father hit his son, Aang flinched. The father stopped hitting his son and grabbed him by the arm to force his son to look at him.
"You're nothing!" He yelled and threw him to the floor. Aang got flashbacks to when his father abused him. It was eerily similar, the only difference is that Aang's dad was drunk. He felt like he couldn't breathe and he began hyperventilating. He sat up and tried to catch his breath.
"Turn i-it o-off!" he tried to yell, but he couldn't because he couldn't breathe. By now everyone was looking at him with panicked looks. Hakoda quickly turned off the T.V. And Aang tried to use his airbending to catch his breath, but he couldn't. He was having a panic attack.
"Aang! It's okay!" Katara said in a panicked voice. She didn't know what to do. Aang desperately tried to catch his breath, but he was failing. Katara did the only thing she knew how and brought him into a fierce, but gentle hug.
"Breathe with me, Aang. In… and out," She said before taking in deep and slow breaths. Aang did as he was told and tried to match her breathing. After a few moments, it worked and Aang was breathing like normal. He broke away from the hug and wiped the sweat off his forehead.
"Are you okay?" Katara asked in a worried voice. Aang looked around as saw shocked and astonished faces from everyone. He felt hot and itchy.
"I-I… I need some air," he said while quickly getting up and leaving through the back door. Katara quickly followed him. Katara closed the back door behind her once they were both outside.
"What just happened?" Zuko asked. The abusive father scene affected him too because he could relate, but he learned to deal with his trauma.
"I… I think Aang had a panic attack," Gran answered, trying to process what just happened.
"Why? Is he gonna be okay?" Sokka asked, also worried about his best friend.
"He'll be fine, he just needs some time. I think that scene hit a little too close to home," Gran answered. Everyone just sat there in silence, not sure what to do next. After 5 minutes of loud silence. Zuko got up.
"Where are you going, babe?" Mai asked.
"I'm going to talk with Aang," He replied. If anyone knew how Aang felt, it's Zuko. Mai nodded and watched her boyfriend leave through the back door to see Aang crying and Katara hugging him with his head on her chest.
"You're safe, Aang, you're safe," She said while rubbing the back of his head. Aang and Katara saw Zuko and they broke apart.
"Zuko?" Katara asked curiously.
"Let me talk to, Aang," He said while sitting down in a chair. Katara looked at Aang worriedly and then back at Zuko.
"Why?" She asked, she wasn't ready to leave Aang's side.
"I-I… just… please, just let me talk to him," he said, not wanting to tell Katara his story. Only Mai knew. Katara looked at Aang one more time who was wiping the tears off his face.
"I'll be inside, sweetie, I love you," She said while kissing his cheek. Aang gave her a small smile and nodded. Once Katara got up and gave Aang one more worried look before going back into her house, Zuko sat in a chair right next to Aang. He didn't know where to start. After a moment of silence, Zuko spoke.
"I know the feeling." He said simply.
"What d-do you m-mean?" Aang choked out.
"Feeling of being alone… hopeless...in pain. Both physical and mental," He answered.
"Do you know the feeling of your father abusing you?" He asked genuinely. Zuko sighed and fidgeted with his shorts.
"Yes," He answered. Aang looked at him and he couldn't speak. He didn't know what to say. He never met anyone else who had a father abuse them. Mostly because it was really rare at the peaceful air temples, but he was glad he had someone who understood. There was another silence before Zuko sighed.
"I got the scar to prove it," He said while pointing to his face. Aang looked at him and his scar and he couldn't believe it.
"Y-your… your f-father did that t-to you?" He asked in an astonished tone.
"Yeah, do you know what an Agni Kai is?" Zuko asked. Aang shook his head and Zuko sighed again.
"It's a duel between two firebenders. And whoever loses gets their face burned. It's a very old tradition and it's not practiced anymore… but that's how I got this," Zuko said while feeling his scar. Aang paused for a moment and cleared his throat before speaking.
"You had a duel with your father?" He asked.
"Yes, he forced me to because I disagreed with him one time. I begged for his forgiveness and he burned my face. It… it was so painful," He answered. Aang didn't know what to say. It felt good knowing he wasn't the only one to experience abuse, but he felt incredible empathy for his best friend.
"My father was a nice guy… but only when he was sober. He had a really bad drinking problem and when he was drunk, he would hit me, lock me in a closet, and force me to kneel on rocks with weights over my head for hours," He confessed while feeling tears fall down his face. He lifted his sweats and passed his knee to show the scars on his knee. Zuko looked at it and felt an emotion he didn't know how to describe.
"Were you able to run away? Is that why you have a guardian?" Zuko asked.
"My father killed my mother and then he killed h-himself," Aang choked out and began crying again. He couldn't believe it. Zuko wasn't the comforting type, he was awkward. Comfort was Katara's job.
"I'm sorry," Is all get could say. After a moment, Aang regained his sense and took a deep breath.
"How… how did you get over it?" Aang asked.
"You don't really get over it. It's something you have to live with, but I wouldn't be where I am now without Mai." He replied.
"Having someone to talk to is the best thing anyone can ask for," Zuko added.
"It's just… so hard, man. I still have nightmares and I freaking had a meltdown back there. In front of everyone!" Aang said with a bit of anger.
"Bro, they don't see you any different. We're all you're friends, we don't judge. Trust me," Zuko said truthfully. Aang let out another sob and Zuko felt awkward again. He just decided to hug Aang, but he wasn't very good at it because his shoulder hit Aang in the jaw.
"Ow," He said while hugging Zuko back. Zuko chuckled nervously and broke the hug.
"Sorry, hugging isn't really my thing," he confessed, making Aang chuckle a little, which made Zuko feel better.
"It's okay," Aang said.
"Hugging is Katara's thing," Zuko said with a chuckle.
"Yeah… her hugs are the best," He said with a small smile.
"My point is… talk to Katara, she'll listen and she'll be there for you. Get everything off your chest and be vulnerable. Don't hold anything back. Trust me, you'll feel so much better," Zuko said. Aang took a moment to think before talking.
"That's good advice. Thanks, Zuko," Aang said, feeling better that he wasn't alone.
Meanwhile, about 10 minutes earlier, Katara went back inside and had a huge worried look on her face. She sat down on the floor and leaned back on the couch.
"Is he okay?" Hakoda asked, he was also worried.
"He's better. He grew up with an abusive father, I don't want to say too much, but I think that scene made him experience flashbacks," She said, feeling incredibly worried for her boyfriend. Everyone sat there for a moment, trying to process what Katara said.
"It's hard to believe someone like Aang had to go through that growing up," Suki thought out loud.
"Yeah, you'll never guess. He's so happy and joyful," Sokka added.
"Yeah, and usually people who go through that are bullies and turn into monsters themselves...but Aang won't even hurt a fly," Toph chimed in. You know she was serious when she used Aang's real name instead of Twinkle Toes.
"I hope he's okay," Katara said while biting her lip nervously.
"He's going to be fine. He's a strong boy," Gran comforted. Katara looked at Gran and gave her a small smile. After a while, Zuko and Aang returned back inside.
"Aang," Katara said while quickly getting up and walking up to him.
"Are you okay?" She asked with worry in her voice. Aang nodded and looked around the see everyone's faces.
"You guys can keep watching. I'll be in Katara's room," Aang said while walking past his girlfriend.
"Son, you're not alone, and we're your family," Hakoda said sternly. Aang smiled at him and nodded before retreating to Katara's room. His girlfriend followed him.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked gently.
"Yeah, but can you hold me?" He asked as he got in her bed.
"Of course," She replied immediately. They got into a spooning position, but Aang was little spoon and Katara was big spoon. They laid there in silence before Aang spoke.
