Alright guys, back with another chapter! This one is shorter than the other, but I really wanted our big baddy to be introduced, so I went ahead and did this one so I can focus on the next one. But first, a quick thanks to all my loyal followers that have stuck with me through this wild ride. We have only a few chapters left, and boy is it going to be something! I hope you all enjoy this chapter, and also be sure to check out my Nightmare Before Christmas fanfic, as I think you all will enjoy that one as well. Also, a quick thing to note is that I changed Anna's newfound magic from magenta to teal green because I feel it's more in line with her status as the Queen of Arendelle and the gown she wore during the statue unveiling in F2. Magenta is also one of her colors, but I feel like it would clash with the Darkness spirit's black and violet theme, so it wouldn't really work well story wise. Any who, enjoy!
(We come back to our Frozen group, where Elsa has risen from where she was lying, and now everyone is focused on Anna, who's eyes shot open.)
With one obsidian black eye and the other a clear turquoise blue, Anna awoke from her previously unconscious state. Before anyone can say anything, she was enveloped in a deep purple glow and slowly began to float into the air before landing on her feet. Once settled on the ground, the purple glow disappeared, but what remained was a teal green hue that radiated from her. Her face then began to scrunch up, stifled groans could be heard as she began to twitch, one arm reaching over and holding the other down. Black whisps of magic began to form and swirl around the hemline of her dress.
"Anna!" Elsa called out in a panicked whisper that only those nearby could hear.
"Selene! Are you-" Thea called out her, but Anna's body held up a hand to stop her, causing the black whisps of magic to surround the rest of her in a sort of barrier, before going back to grabbing the other arm.
"Oh…no…you don't" Anna spoke, but it was the Darkness spirit's voice, while still gritting her teeth, and continued with "My power…might not be as strong…as it once was...but I still have…far greater power…than you'll ever be able to match. You think you can best me…with newfound magic you've yet to master?!"
"Well…we won't know…unless I try!" This time it was Anna's voice that spoke
Still gripping her own arm, the teal green hue started to get stronger. However, the obsidian eye began to glow a deep purple, and the black whisps of energy began to twirl around her even faster. One tendril grabbed the arm that was gripping the other and began to pull it back. The other tendrils tried to grab her as well, but the teal green hue managed to deflect them, pulsating with each deflection. The tendril grabbing her arm, however, kept trying to pull it back from her other arm, almost succeeding in this before the teal green hue gave another pulse, causing it to jerk back.
"We…had a deal. Are you going to…go back on your word?" The Darkness spirit's voice questioned
"Our deal broke…when you chose to try and sacrifice my people. I won't let you…use my new power…to hurt those I love."
"Do you no longer…desire to become a Blessed One? Do you…no longer wish to…become special?" The Darkness spirit's voice spat out with gritted teeth, the black tendrils swirling faster and becoming more volatile than before.
"I…am…special! And if having magic…means losing everyone important to me…THEN I DON'T NEED IT!" Anna's voice yelled out as her body wrestled itself as she stood in place
"If that is what you wish, then-" The Darkness spirit's voice began, but was quickly cut off by an interruption.
That interruption was coming from Anna's hand, which had white light streaming through her fingers. Seeing this, before she could react to it, her gripped hand began to jerk up, down, left and right. She used her other hand to try and hold it down but it didn't do much as it jerked up, lifting her up a foot into the air before falling back down.
"Woah! What's happening?!" Anna's voice asked in a panic as she tried her best to hold the gem still.
"He's breaking free!" The Darkness spirit's voice responded
"Anna! Don't let go! Hang on!" Elsa cried out, unsure of what to do to help
"Selene, the alter! Hurry!" The Light spirit called out, before she herself flew over to it
"We're so close, I won't let you interfere. Now sleep" The Darkness spirit said to herself, holding a hand to her chest
"Wait, no-!" Anna's voice tried to stop her
However, The Darkness spirit closed her eyes and gritted her teeth, forcing the teal green hue to disappear from around her body, both eyes becoming obsidian black again.
"Anna!" Elsa cried out, running towards her.
However, golden beams of magic shot down from the sky and stopped her in her tracks. More beams of magic shot down and began to encase Kristoff and the others. Honeymaren, seeing this, pushes Ryder before throwing herself out of the way as the last few beams plant themselves into the ground. The beams link themselves together with horizontal beams, creating an exact duplicate of the cage that held Elsa on Calbonear Island.
The Light spirit, not noticing this, said "Stay put. Selene, hurry!"
The Darkness spirit formed a blackened magic orb around her gripped hands, which the streams of light continued to stream from, and then a violet energy encased her, making her levitate. She made her way towards the alter table and then made the black orb float to the center of the table.
While this was going on, Yelena saw that the brother and sister had made it out of the cage, before quickly kneeling down and throwing the blue crystal necklace to Honeymaren, quietly whispering "Go quickly!", to which Honeymaren looked at the crystal, gave a look of realization, then looked at the Northuldrian leader and gave a nod. When Ryder sat up from his fall, he tried to say "What are you-" but Honeymaren put a hand over his mouth to shush him before motioning him to the double doors that led out of the alter room. He gave a hesitant nod before they crouched down and made their way out of the room, while everyone else was not looking. Once out the doors, they sprinted down the hallway, Ryder following Honeymaren's lead.
"Where are we going?!" Ryder called out
"If we're going to stop this, then we're going to need some help! Follow me!" She yelled, and they continued to run
Back in the alter room, the Light and the Darkness spirits, not seeing the siblings escape, then held out their arms in a low t-form, rays of their magic power rippling across the floor, causing the designs that had been previously etched into the walls to radiate gold and dark purple sparkling magic power.
"Alright, now use her magic! We need to cast the spell now!" The Light spirit called to her
"Right!"
She closed her eyes and the teal green hue returned, radiating from her entire body before doing the same for the Light spirit. The designs on the wall glowed brighter, and soon the citizens of Arendelle and the rest of the Northuldrian tribe were wrapped in the gold and deep violet energy that surrounded them. The people began to groan and give gasps as one by one, they fell to their knees. A white light soon formed in their chests, which began to slowly be pulled out from them.
"NO! Please don't do this! They don't deserve this!" Elsa screamed from the cage, trying to grasp the bars but was shocked by a sort of electrical current, making her fall back onto the ground.
Just as the orbs were almost free from their bodies, the streams of white light broke free from the black magic orb, which diverted the spirit's attention. This caused the orbs of light to return to their bodies and make them fall to the ground unconscious. The streams of light shot out in every direction, breaking through the walls and the floor. One stream of light sliced through the magic cage, which made everyone inside jump to either side of it, avoiding getting hit, and the cage disappeared.
"SELENE!" The Light spirit cried out
The Darkness spirit nodded and the two of them held out their arms, creating protective barriers for themselves, Elsa and her group, and even the unconscious people of Arendelle and Northuldra. The Light spirit's power served as the base beneath their feet while the Darkness spirit used Anna's newfound protective magic to surround them in large domes of teal green magic.
As soon as they did this, the white light streaming from the gem became too much. In a moment of brief silence, the last crack formed, before the gem exploded, causing the whole room to fill with white light, making Elsa and the others cover their eyes with their arms, while Kristoff used his other arm to block Sven's eyes and Olaf hid his face behind Sven's neck. Honeymaren and Ryder, who were still running through the large hall, were knocked down to the ground from the massive wave of energy that shot through the palace, as well as all the hanging portraits and furnishings held there. The white light formed a large column and shot through the ceiling of the alter room. It rose high into the air before forming the symbol of the First spirit, Atkatulok.
When the light finally began to die down, the Light and Darkness spirits were able to lower the barriers. Elsa and the group were finally able to look, albeit with squinted eyes, to see what lowered itself from the air amidst the bright light. At first, the light had no shape to it, simple glowing brightly in front of the alter table. After a moment of this, it began to mold and shape into a more humanoid appearance. Then, once it was shaped into a full human-like figure, the light quickly died down and the figure lowered to the ground. Once the light finally died down, what was left standing there was a young man that looked to be late teens-early twenties, with a full head of somewhat messy chestnut brown hair that reached to his ears and olive-toned skin. He wore a black royal ensemble that had golden lacework and embellishments, along with a long green cape that had the Umankian coat of arms stitched near the end of it. He also wore a small gold crown that wrapped around his head. His eyes were closed and he didn't move from where he stood. The Darkness spirit, still in Anna's body, held a hand to her mouth while the Light spirit held one of hers to her chest, the faces carrying looks that appeared scared, but was tinged with hopefulness as they got closer to the figure.
"Brother?" The Light spirit asked the young man
"Carsten?" The Darkness spirit also questioned him
The figure did not speak, but in that brief moment of silence, the figure's eyes shot open, which glowed the same bright light that filled the room previously.
Atkatulok had returned.
Hey there guys! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I know it was shorter than the previous ones, but I was really excited to get the big baddy out and in action, so I went ahead and did this short chapter so I can focus more attention on the next chapter, which will be quite exciting to write. Please let me know what you all think and have an awesome day! I'll see you in the next chapter!
