I don't like having so many unfinished stories so I have been trying to finish the ones I have before starting new ones but unfortunately, I have started another story and there is another one bouncing around in my head.

Thank you so much for the reviews on chapter 24!

Chapter 25: Breakthrough

Liam walked into the house he shared with his new wife. Married life had been good to them, and good for him. Liam O'Malley had changed his whole life around and all it took was the love of the right woman. That night he had passed out drunk and nursed back to health by Elizabeth Pratt was the last night he had ever drank too much, and the last night he ever looked at another woman. The townspeople no longer referred to him as a scoundrel, he was a respectable man, businessman and husband. His father was proud of the man he had become and not only gave him a job, but shared the family business with him. The faith Elizabeth had in him saved his life, she saved his life. "Beth!" He called through the house as he pulled a book out of his breast pocket. He owed her so much, as well as her father. They had both taken a chance on him and he would spend the rest of his life showing them that they had made the right choice. He would be the honourable man her father always wanted for her and he would always protect her.

"Hello dear husband." She smiled as she made her way closer to him. "I was outside, hanging the clothing." She looked down at the book in his hand. "What is that?"

"Gift." He smiled at her before pulling her to him in a hug, then kissed her lips. He held the book out to her. "'tis a special gift."

"Oh?" She said surprised, he was always bringing her gifts. Why? She didn't know, he had already courted her and won her heart. "What makes this gift any more special than the rest? You know that I love them all, almost as much as I love you."

Liam smiled down at her, it was still hard to believe that this amazing, beautiful woman loved him. "Made it."

"You made it?" Elizabeth asked, looking down at the book. Liam was very creative, he had found that out himself when he first started courting her because she had told him she didn't care about anything that cost money, so he started coming up with gifts that he could make. Out of all the gifts he had made her, he had never made a book before. Her favorite gifts from him were always his drawings.

Liam nodded proudly. "All da poems of Ireland dat remin' me of me beloved."

Elizabeth gasped, but soon smiled brightly as she opened the book to see every page filled with his penmanship. Unfortunately, it wasn't in a language that she could read. "It's beautiful, Liam. I love it, but you know that I cannot read…"

"Not yet." He smiled at her before leaning down to kiss her. "Yer husband will teach ya."

Elizabeth smiled even brighter, she turned to the first page of the book, running her hands over the hand written words. "What does it say?"

"Tá muid go deo dhá hearts le Soul amháin." He whispered, before repeating it in the only language his wife knew. "We are forever two hearts with one soul."

"That's beautiful." Came a whisper. "I love you, Angel."

He looked up to find Buffy standing in his arms. Elizabeth's curly blonde hair and floor length gown were replaced with Buffy's long straight blonde hair and a tank top and mid-thigh length skirt. "I love you too, Buffy. Forever."

Buffy smiled before kissing him. "That's the whole point."

"That it is, beloved." He smiled, taking her by the hand leading them through the large house to their bedroom. "That it is."

Angel opened his eyes, looking around the room to find himself in his room at The Hyperion, instead of the house he had shared with his wife. What an odd dream. At first it was a memory of when he had given his wife the book of poetry. Then, his wife was Buffy. Did it have something to do with the fact that Jenny had called him out on his feelings for Buffy? The feelings that he couldn't bring himself to say out loud. He got out of bed, heading towards his bedroom door, not even bothering to change out of his black drawstring sweatpants or put on a shirt and made his way to Buffy's door. He placed his hand on the wood, he knew Buffy wasn't in there, but she was in the hotel. He could sense it. He slowly opened the door, making his way into her room.

He glanced around slowly, the last time he was in this room was the day before when Jenny had done the sonogram. It was hard to believe that Buffy, the woman he found himself in love with, was pregnant with another man's child. If she was as far along as Jenny said she was, then she got pregnant after she had come to stay with them. It broke his heart to think of her with another man but he loved her too much to walk away, even if they weren't in a relationship. He sat on her bed, beside her bedside table and opened the drawer where she always kept her book. The same book he had given his wife over 200 years ago. The moment he saw the book that night at Cordelia's apartment, he couldn't believe it! He knew it was the same book as soon as he saw it. What were the chances that the two women he loved would both have the book that he had made so many years ago.

He picked up the book from the drawer, opening it to the first page, he ran his fingers along the words he had written that still looked the same as the day he had written them. "Elizabeth." He whispered.

"Just try again." Penny encouraged her granddaughter, as they stood in the middle of the room. It was fairly trashed, but it wasn't as bad as some of the others that they had come across which was why they picked this room for Buffy to fix, only using her powers.

"Clear your mind." Her mother reminded her, motioning to the broken lamp that was on the floor beside a door that was halfway off its hinges. "Invision picking the lamp up and putting it back on the table."

Penny nodded as Buffy closed her eyes and exhaled, after a moment nothing happened. "Okay, our powers are connected to our emotions but every witch has a different trigger. It could be happiness, excitement or sadness…" She exclaimed, waving her hands around. "Hell, it could even be anger. It was for me when I first discovered my powers. It was at the same time that my father left my mother and when I would get angry I would make things happen. It's different for everyone. What was it that triggered something happening each time you have used your powers in the past?"

Buffy thought for a moment, then looked up at her grandmother and whispered. "Angel."

"Angel isn't an emotion, sweetie." Joyce smiled. "He's a vampire."

"But love is." Penny smiled at the blonde. It seemed fitting that love would be Buffy's trigger, she was always a very loving and compassionate child. "Focus on that. Focus on Angel. The love that you have for him."

Buffy nodded and closed her eyes again. "Angel." She whispered again. Penny smiled when the lamp lifted off the floor, the older woman glanced at her daughter before nodding towards the door as it began to move and be put back on the hinges by an invisible force. Buffy opened her eyes, smiling excitedly when she saw what she had done.

"We still have a lot to cover, but you are doing great." Penny smiled. "And we have lots to practice on because your mother needs a room too."

Buffy laughed and playfully rolled her eyes. How was this her life? She wasn't just some boring nobody anymore, she was a witch! And her trigger to her powers was a vampire? It seemed fitting, she thought about him a lot anyway. Then something dawned on her, was that why demon's went after her when she thought about Angel before Lorne had worked his magic on her? Did the demons know that she was a witch and that he was her trigger? How could they know if she didn't even know though?

Buffy shuffled through case files at her desk, when Angel walked up leaning his back against the front desk, he watched her for a second before he spoke. "Hey."

"Hey." Buffy looked up from the case files in her hand. "What's up?"

"I was going to ask you that." He took an unnecessary breath. "Haven't seen you all day."

The blonde nodded, picking up a paper from her desk before placing it in a case file. "My mom and grams were helping me with my powers, control them and stuff… figure out my trigger, that kind of stuff. I got two rooms fixed up for them just by using my powers! It's pretty cool."

"You mean we put all that work in our rooms when you could have just done it?" Angel asked seriously.

Buffy rolled her eyes. "Funny."

"I'm a funny guy." He said with a small smirk.

Buffy smiled at him. "Oh, I know."

Angel stayed quiet for a moment, until he asked a question that had been on his mind since her mother and grandmother first got to The Hyperion. "Why didn't you tell anyone things were happening that you couldn't control?"

Buffy glanced up at him, he had his arms crossed over his chest, he didn't look happy. "You mean why didn't I tell you?"

Angel nodded.

"Angel, you have so much going on already between cases and your girlfriends…" She looked down at the papers again. "I didn't want to bother you."

"Girlfriends?" He asked, shocked. She should know by now that he didn't have room in his life for that, not when he was already struggling to have space in his heart for her and his wife. "Buffy… I thought we were getting… close."

"I have thought a lot of things since I met you but you always seem to change your mind." She said looking through the case files to put them in alphabetical order.

Angel looked down at his feet as he crossed his ankles. "I just….don't…" Why did he have such a hard time telling her how he felt? She was always telling him that he deserved to be happy, and part of him wanted to have that, wanted to be happy with her. His wife didn't tell him, that was why. He loved his wife with his whole heart and soul, she was his reason for existing. Having those feelings for Buffy made him feel like he was betraying his wife. If only he could talk to his wife, to get the okay from her for him to be happy, truly happy with Buffy. He glanced behind him to see Wesley, Gunn, Fred and Darla walking down the large staircase. "I can't talk about this right now."

"No." She sighed, picking up the files and getting up from her desk. "You never can."

Angel watched her walk away from him. Did he always say that to her? Suddenly, he gently grabbed her by her elbow, pulling her into his office and shutting the door. "Buffy, you know I don't have any girlfriends and that I care about you. It's been a long time since I have had these types of feelings. It's hard for me."

"Then make it un-hard." She whispered with a shrug. "Just say it, Angel." Instead of a response, he closed his eyes and rubbed his face. Buffy silently nodded before making her way over to the filing cabinet in his office. Of course he couldn't say it, because she wasn't the one that he loved. She knew that she would love him forever, but he would never return those feelings. "Do you know where Gwen's file went? That was her name right? The one who had the electricity in her hands and I accidently walked in on you two getting groany."

"We weren't…getting… groany." Angel protested. "We weren't getting anything and I'm pretty sure groany isn't a word."

"Oh, groany is so a word! And if it isn't then it should be!" Buffy shouted with an eye roll. "And you were! She was totally straddling you and there was heavy breathing and.. and gyrating!"

"She had just jump started my heart! So yeah, there was heavy breathing, do you know how long it has been since I NEEDED to breathe?" He shouted. "And there was definitely NO gyrating! If anything my body was going into shock from oh, I don't know, being electrocuted!"

"The only thing she was jumping was your bones!" Buffy shouted back.

Angel's eyes got large and his eyebrows shot up. "The only one I want to do any bone jumping with is right in front of me!"

Buffy's tense body relaxed. "There is a desk right in front of you." She pointed at the brown desk in the office.

"We could always do it on the desk." He said with a small smirk.

"You already marked that desk." She narrowed her eyes at him. "Remember with Lilah."

"That isn't fair!" Angel raised his voice at her again. "That wasn't me, that old guy Marcus was in my body!"

Buffy pointed at the desk again and shouted. "But it was still your dick in her when I walked in."

"Maybe the lesson you should take from this is… knock first!" Angel shouted.

She slammed the file cabinet shut with a huff and rushed passed Angel to the door. Angel watched her in shock, what the hell just happened? That wasn't the conversation he had wanted to have at all.

Darla and Fred looked at Gunn and Wesley before looking at each other. "Who I wouldn't kill for my vamp hearing right about now..."

The three friends looked at the ex-vampire with worried expressions.

"But I wouldn't!" Darla shook her head. "Kill anyone… it just would have been nice to know what went down in there."

"Well, it doesn't take super hearing to know it wasn't a friendly conversation." Wesley informed her.

Gunn nodded. "Definitely wasn't about puppies and rainbows."

Angel looked down at the book sitting on his bed, he had searched many of Wesley's books until he found what he was looking for, now he had been staring at the page for the last couple of hours. Did he really want to do this? He felt like he had to, he needed to end this… thing. He hated feeling like he was at war with Buffy at times. That's how he had felt today, when he couldn't tell her that he loved her is when their conversation turned south and they started to argue. He hated arguing with Buffy when all he wanted to do was hold her, kiss her and tell her how much he cared about her.

But would doing this ruin things for his wife? If she was at peace and he somehow ruined that for her then he would never forgive himself. It would be selfish of him to do. He looked to the wall that he shared with Buffy, he hadn't heard her in her room all day, he could feel it, she wasn't in there but he hadn't seen her since they had argued. Where was she? Was she really that mad at him that she would leave? He thought he had lost her when she had left the last time and he didn't like how that felt. He couldn't go through that again, and he was selfish for that.

Glancing down at the book one last time, he got up from his bed, making his way over to the antique armoire across his room. Opening the armoire, he pulled out some amethyst crystals, pink crystals and six candles. He placed them in a circle before lighting the candles. After lighting the candles, he took a step back and picked up the book before he started to read. "Hear these words, hear my cry, I call to my beloved on the other side. Tell me what I need to know, come to me, I summon thee…" he trailed off before whispering. "Elizabeth."

There was a bright light in the circle causing Angel to shield his eyes. "Oh, my sweet Liam."

Angel's head whipped up to see his mother standing in the circle he had created, she looked the same as the day he had died. "Mum? What are you doing here?"

"Ya called, didn' ya?" The Irish woman asked.

Angel shook his head. "Don't think that I'm not grateful to see you, mum. I am! I have missed you so much, but…"

"Ya called for Elizabeth." She finished for him, earning a nod. "She couldn' come." Angel looked down to the floor with a frown. "Don' thin' for a second she didn' wan' ta. She loves ya, boy, now jus as much as da day she married ya."

"Then where is she?" He questioned. "Why didn't she come?"

His mother smiled at him. "She's around, a little busy though. I see her from time to time."

"Is she… is she okay?" He asked on the verge of tears. "Is she happy?"

His mother nodded. "She' wit those she loves."

Angel nodded silently, he wished he could be with her but if he was with Elizabeth then he wouldn't be with Buffy and he wasn't sure which one hurt more. "I want to… I want to ask her if…"

"If it wa' okay for ya ta love again." His mother finished for him again.

Angel nodded, a confused look married his face. "How did you…"

"Know abou Buffy?" She smiled at her son. "We all know abou Buffy. We watch ya and ya have made us all 'ery proud, son. Ya' save people. Ya help people. Jus like Elizabeth always did. Ya a bette' man than we eve' dreamed."

"Because of Elizabeth." He whispered.

His mother nodded. "An' Buffy. She' exactly what ya need, son, an' Elizabeth would be honored fo' ya to be wit' Buffy."

"You're sure?" Angel asked again.

His mother laughed. "Of course! Be wit the one ya love."

Angel let out a small laugh. "That's what Buffy says."

"Dat's wha' Elizabeth say." His mother gave him a smirk. "Smart lass."

Angel shook his head, confused. "You are sure? About Buffy?"

His mother nodded her head. "I mus' go but Liam, take care of Kathleen, would ya? Even when she's stubborn. She get dat from ya."

Angel opened his mouth to speak again but his mother was gone. What did she mean by that was what Elizabeth said? And how was he supposed to take care of Kathleen? His sister was long dead by now.

Angel sat in the lobby of the hotel for most of the night, but Buffy still hadn't come down. She wasn't in her room either, he checked periodically for her. He was starting to get worried, he could feel her in the hotel, but no one knew where she was. No one had seen or heard from Buffy since their argument and she stormed out of his office. Not since before he summoned his wife, but his mother showed up instead. That was confusing all on its own. His mother came in place of his wife? Why? She couldn't come? She was busy? Busy doing what? Knowing his wife, she was probably busy being everyone's best friend in Heaven. He still wished that Elizabeth would have come when he summoned her, he wanted to hear straight from her that his feelings for Buffy were alright. He knew his mother wouldn't steer him wrong though, and she was always so close with his wife.

Noone seemed worried that they couldn't find Buffy once he had said he still felt her in the hotel. They all said she was safe because Lorne's spell was still on the hotel to prevent violence. That didn't ease his mind though, he wanted to know where she was, he wanted to make sure she was safe. Angel closed his eyes for a moment before they popped back open and he got up from the round couch, quickly making his way up the stairs, but he didn't stop at the second floor. He ran up another flight of stairs until he arrived on a floor he hadn't been on in over two months. He stopped in front of a door that he knew very well, in spite of only being in that room once. Every moment of that night was burned into his memory, even in his drugged haze. He didn't want to forget a thing.

Angel quietly opened the door and then softly shut it behind him. "I should have known I would find you in here."

"You did." Buffy whispered as she stared ahead, her arms wrapped around her bended knees.

"But I didn't." Angel said walking through the torn apart room to sit next to Buffy on the floor. He almost wanted to smile at the way the room looked. "I let the draw lead me here."

"Oh." She whispered again.

"You here all day?" He asked softly.

Buffy nodded.

Angel looked up at the ceiling, there was a large hole where there used to be a large chandelier. This time he couldn't help but smile when his gaze fell to the chandelier that was now on the floor. "It felt like you were in the hotel still, I just thought you would have gone out, maybe back to Cordelia's."

"Didn't feel like getting attacked by anything, getting attacked by you is enough for one day." She said looking straight forward at the plaster that was broken from the wall. Although Lorne had shielded her from demons so they didn't want to kill her, it still seemed like vampires were drawn to her, everytime she left the hotel it seemed like she dusted at least one vampire. "He bit her."

Angel nodded slowly. "Yeah, I know. Lilah wasn't very happy with me. She came by and yelled at me after it happened." He moved her hair from around her shoulders, smoothing it down her back. "I'm sorry." He lightly kissed the scar on her neck where he had bit her the night they made love. "He didn't know I was a vampire though, I was just a young looking guy he wanted to switch bodies with."

Angel pulled her closer to him, putting his arm around her waist as she leaned her head on his shoulder. He didn't know if she was upset about the fact that Marcus had sex with Lilah while having possession of his body or that he bit her while they were having sex. He had told her months ago about vampires feeding during sex. Vampires often bit while they had sex even with other vampires, feeding while in an intimate act felt a lot like Ecstasy. Angel had done it once with Darla but never did again, it didn't feel how other vampires had described it, not that they normally sat around talking about their feelings. But that night with Buffy, he had the urge to feed off of her, it had felt even more amazing then he was told. He couldn't even describe how it felt, but it was better than pure ecstasy, if vampires could go to Heaven he was sure Buffy is what it would feel like. The urge to bite her took over him and he couldn't stop himself, she didn't seem like she had been upset about it. She was almost protective of the scar on her neck

Looking down at her, he saw that she was looking at the room. It was still completely trashed, no one ever came up to this floor of the hotel so they never cleaned it. "That night was amazing." He heard her whisper.

"Yeah, it was." He kissed the top of her head. "Do you want to do it again? I'm sure it will be just as amazing." He didn't care that she was pregnant or that she hadn't told them who the father was yet. He didn't care who the father was, that bit of information wouldn't change how he felt about her or the baby. Nothing could. He had been pulled to her before they even met and that draw never went away, it never even wavered. He was still as drawn to her as the day he met her, something told him it had nothing to do with the same reason the other vampires and demons were drawn to her. He tried to keep his distance from her as much as he could though in the beginning because every time he saw her he wanted to take comfort in her, not only make love to her but feed off her as well. He felt that giving in to his desires for Buffy would be betraying Elizabeth.

Buffy looked up at him but said nothing. Suddenly she attacked his mouth with hers, kissing him feverishly, not wasting any time she pulled his shirt apart, buttons flying across the room. Angel raised his eyebrows in shock while he helped her get his now ripped shirt off. He moaned when he felt her hands go straight for his pants.

"Mmm." He broke the kiss. "Slow down, Little One." She kissed him again with just as much passion as before, who was he to deny her?

"Can't." She murmured against his lips. "I need you."

He gently took her face in his hands, slowing her movements. "I know the feeling." He smiled at her before pulling her shirt over her head and kissing her gently as he guided her backwards. "But we have all night."

"It's not enough time." She shook her head, desperately, unshed tears threatening to fall.

"Then we have tomorrow." He whispered before wiping her tears from her eyes and kissing her. "and the next day."

She felt like he was caressing and kissing her everywhere, she couldn't even think. Before she knew it, she felt him entering her, she gasped as she pulled him closer. He slowly started a gentle motion as he rocked against her.

He laced his fingers with hers as he rested his forehead against hers. "I love you." He whispered.

"No, you don't." She whispered, a single tear rolling down her cheek. "But thanks for saying it."

0o0o0

Angel looked down at the tiny blonde in his bed. He had told her last night that he loved her, and she told him he didn't. Had he really denied his feelings for so long that she couldn't even believe him when he finally confessed his feelings for her? It broke his undead heart. Now he would have to prove to her that he loved her, make her believe him. He just didn't know what else he could do.

He placed his hand on the small bump in her stomach, he scooched down closer. "I guess my Little One is going to have a little one of her own." He whispered, moving his face closer to the bump. "Now, I don't know who your daddy is but I can tell you right now, it doesn't matter. I love your mommy and I'm going to do whatever I can to protect her and you. You don't have to worry about a thing." His brow creased then he smiled when he could suddenly hear a faint heartbeat.

Buffy moaned softly and started to stir in her sleep, she slowly opened her eyes, pouting when she realized she was in Angel's room. She remembered him going up to the trashed hotel room and making gentle love to her, he had told her he loved her but she knew he was just saying that. He loved his wife and would never have those types of feelings for her. He had suggested they go to his room where they would be more comfortable and they made love again. It was just as sweet and gentle the second time. She looked down and frowned when she saw Angel so close to her stomach. "Angel?"

"Shhh." He whispered with a smile, after a moment he looked up at her. "The baby has been using magic. I can hear the heartbeat now."

"Why…" Buffy shook her head. "Why all the sudden would you be able to hear the heartbeat when you couldn't before?"

"I don't know." He smiled as he listened to the faint pumping. "Maybe the baby didn't trust me before… God, Little One. This is amazing!" He laugh as he crawled up the bed, laying beside Buffy. "I'm going to take care of you." He placed his hand on the slight bulge in her stomach. "Both of you."

"That's sweet, but…" She shook her head again. "You don't have to do that, Angel."

"I want to." He whispered before kissing her lips softly. "You don't have to tell me who the father is, I don't care. Even if the father isn't in the baby's life, this child will be loved and taken care of. How could I not love someone that came from you?"

"You are being incredibly sweet." She whispered, with tears in her eyes. "Why are you being so sweet?"

Angel shrugged with a smile. "I had a conversation with my mother."

Buffy raised her eyebrows at the vampire. Was he crazy? His mother had been dead for a long time. "Your mother?"

Angel nodded. "I tried to summon my wife… Elizabeth, but my mother showed up instead. We had a very enlightening chat. One that I wish could have lasted longer but I understand the situation with her being dead." He turned his head slightly, making an awkward face. "It's probably pretty draining for a ghost to come here and chat for very long."

"You… tried to summon your wife last night…" Buffy said slowly. He failed at summoning his wife the night before and then had sex with her, multiple times. For some reason, that weirded her out.

Angel nodded but frowned when the blonde started to climb out of bed. "Where are you going?"

"To try to sneak back in my room." She informed him with a sigh. "I can't seem to recall if my clothes made the trip with us."

"They didn't. You came down in my shirt." He reminded her.

"Right." She nodded, grabbing his shirt from the floor. "Then you won't mind if I borrow this again… don't worry, I will be really sneaky and no one will see me."

Angel looked at the clock beside his bed before looking back at her. "You're leaving now? We still have a couple of hours before people will start waking up."

"It will be easier with the sneaking." She said buttoning the black shirt, well what buttons were left on it after she had torn it from him last night.

Angel frowned. "You think I care? If people see you coming out of my room… you really think I care?"

"Uh… yeah." She nodded with raised eyebrows as she made her way to the door. "You wanted to keep it a secret before, why would this be any different?"

"Because of the conversation with my mother." He reminded her, getting out of bed and grabbing a pair of boxers before putting them on.

"Angel…"

"No." He cut her off, walking over to her, he took her in his arms. "It's different this time, Little One. I promise."

"Not to jinx us or anything but has anyone noticed how little evil drama there has been since Darla turned human?" Cordelia asked, taking Buffy's axe from Gunn after he had cleaned it. If you asked Angel, it was still his axe, but Buffy liked to claim it as hers.

Buffy nodded. "I have noticed. I actually feel safer here lately for some reason. And if you jinx this I will be forced to beat you to death with a shovel." Buffy put the dagger down after she cleaned it, picking up a sword.

"Whoa!" Angel shouted as he came down the stairs. "What are you doing?" He took the sword out of her hands.

"I'm cleaning the weapons with Gunn." She said looking down at her now empty hands. "Like I always do."

"You shouldn't be doing that." Angel put the sword down.

"Why exactly shouldn't I be?" She asked, confused. All day, he had been acting like one of those helicopter parents, only she hadn't even had the baby yet!

"You're pregnant!" He exclaimed as if that should have answered everything.

"Angel, I don't know if you noticed but I heal on my own now." She argued picking the sword back up. "If I impale myself on a weapon I will be fine."

"Well, I don't want to take any chances!" Angel argued back.

"God, Angel." Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Just because she is pregnant doesn't mean she has to stop being her."

"Yeah, Angel." Came Fred's cheerful Southern accent from behind them. "You act like it's your baby or somethin'."

Angel shook his head. "It doesn't matter that it's not my baby, we are a family and we keep each other safe! It takes a village to raise a child, we… our whole team, is that village!" He looked around the room "There's so many things in this lobby that a baby can get hurt on." He quickly pointed at Gunn. "We gotta baby proof this place! Put padding on all the sharp corners and, and… oh, those outlet plugs!"

Buffy laughed at Angel's odd behavior. "It's not like the baby is going to come out walking." She suddenly turned to Cordelia with a terrified look on her face. "It's not going to come out walking, is it?"

Cordy shrugged. "Hey, it's half witch and half… whatever demon you hooked up with, there's no telling what it's going to come out as."

Buffy frowned before she took off running up the stairs.

"Where are you going?" Cordy called out to her best friend.

"To reread Breaking Dawn!" The blonde shouted as she reached the top of the stairs.

Cordelia frowned for a moment as she looked around the room, then suddenly she gasped as her mouth dropped open. She fumbled to shut the weapon cabinet but gave up and went chasing after her best friend.

Cordy burst into the blondes bedroom just as Buffy was opening the teen romance and flipping through the pages. "They said vampires claw their way out, right? That's a thing that happened…" She flipped through the pages of the book faster before stopping on a page, skimming the words. "But Edward, like, delivered Renesmee… with his teeth?" Buffy looked up, grossed out. "So NOT going to happen!"

"Buffy!" Cordelia shouted, shutting the door behind her. "Are you telling me that the father of this baby is a vampire?"

"Bella would have died if Edward didn't make her a vampire." Buffy said with large eyes. "So I either die or become a vampire…"

"Buffy!" Cordelia shouted again to get her attention. "Twilight is a friggin BOOK! And Bella was only pregnant for two weeks! Jenny said you are further along than that. It's fiction!"

Buffy let out a loud sigh of relief as she threw the book on her bed.

"Now, answer me." The brunette walked towards her best friend. "The father is a vampire?"

The blonde pouted. "If it's fiction then I have nothing to go on! I'm in unknown waters!"

"Angel said vampires can't have kids." Cordelia reminded her, calmly.

Buffy's eyes widened in her hysterical state. "Well, clearly he's wrong because he's having one!"

"He who?" Cordelia asked, perking up. "He Angel?"

"I suck at keeping secrets." Buffy pouting, throwing herself on her bed.

"You and Angel?" The brunette asked, shocked. "When?"

"A few months ago." Buffy pouted even more. "And before I left… and last night… and this morning."

Cordelia's mouth dropped open as she stared at her best friend. Was she seriously saying that her and Angel were a thing? "You suck at keeping secrets, my ass! How did this all start?"

"You know how Rebecca drugged him…?" Buffy asked, twisting her body to look at her best friend as she sat up.

Cordy nodded. "Yeah, Wesley said it like, gave him the ambition to do what he wanted to do but wouldn't… you? He wanted to do you!"

Buffy bit her lip and shrugged. "I told you guys he didn't try to kill me."

"That's the night ALL those demons attacked outside the hotel!" Cordelia pointed behind her with her thumb. "Do you think that's why they were attacking? Maybe they could sense that this… thing was happening that wasn't supposed to happen. I mean, you didn't see all those demons and a friggin dragon! We didn't know what we were going to do about that dragon until your gryphon showed up."

"He's not my gryphon." Buffy frowned. "I know what Angel said about it protecting me but he also said there would be someone with the gryphon that would help protect me but it's been a couple months and the gryphon and this mystery person have been a no show."

Cordelia smiled at her friend. "How do you know it's a he?"

Buffy shook her head. "What?"

"How do you know it's a he?" She repeated. "If it's not your gryphon then how do you know it's a he?"

Buffy shrugged. "I don't know… it had a male like body."

"So did my high school gym teacher." Cordelia raised her eyebrows. "Anyway." She waved off the conversation. "So, first of all, if you and Angel have been a thing this whole time then why have you been all mopey and leaving? And why the hell did he hook up with Darla?"

Buffy shook her head. "It hasn't been the whole time, it's been on and off and we aren't a thing. He doesn't want it to be a thing."

"Well, we will just have to fix that!" Cordelia rolled her eyes. "And now it totally makes sense why he's freaking out over you doing certain stuff, he's trying to keep you and his baby safe."

"Except... he doesn't ...know it's his baby." Buffy said nervously.

The brunette frowned. "What?"

Buffy shook her head. "Only my grams knows. I couldn't tell Angel, I don't want him to freak out and think I'm lying to him because he thinks vampires can't have kids."

"Maybe this is one of those weird things that happen just because you are you." Cordelia reasoned.

Buffy rolled her eyes. "Gee, thanks Cordelia."

"No!" Cordy sighed, moving over to Buffy's bed to sit beside her. "Maybe vampires really can't have kids and he was only able to have one with you because you are you, a witch. You know?"

Buffy shook her head. "I don't know. Maybe. I still don't know if I want to risk it."

"And what are you going to do when that baby comes out with vamp fangs and a giant forehead?"

"I like his forehead." Buffy pouted.

Cordy laughed, pulling Buffy closer to her and hugging her. "You would!"
