"You know it doesn't have to be this way, I'd hate for all your years of service to end for something as ridiculous as a treaty" The dark blue keronian said sternly to the red one as Andromedian Huskies circled them.

"I refuse" Giroro growled "I'll protect her till my dying breath" nothing would get him to betray the woman he loved, her life was the only thing that mattered to him anymore.

"poor little solider trapped under the siren's spell, you honestly think she loves you? Your nothing but a political pawn to save her planet. What would she of done? Refuse you and have her planet destroyed?" the general mocked. His words cutting through him like a hot knife through butter.

"It's not like that!" he shouted back but he realised how foolish he was to think that she means what she said, the man in front of him had a point, what choice did she have to refuse?

"sure it's not" he downed his whisky in his glass "I'm offering you fame and fortune here, an early retirement just for a little white lie, you play along with our attempted murder plead and you get to go out scott free and we get rid of Pekopons last line of defence. You think I like hurting Keronians? I'm what's protecting them" he throw his glass to the side, it's shattering impact rang in Giroro's ears.

"Your sick, I will not sit by as you murder an innocent civilian" even if she didn't return his feelings it didn't matter, not while her life is on the line. He'd run to her now but he can barely move with his busted leg and didn't even know where she was being held.

"Innocent? She's held you and your platoon captive for years! You're foolish if you think any of them actually cared." the man scoffed.

"Well I guess I must be foolish then" even if she didn't actually love him, he never doubted her caring. She was a woman of compassion who cared for them which was evident through her actions. She opened up their home to them and put up with their antics, she even cried at the thought of him leaving without saying goodbye.

"I'm so sorry we couldn't come to an understanding then, clearly your to brainwashed to remember your loyalties lie to the army and Keron. Luckily I don't need you alive for this plan, I'm sorry it had to come to this. You had such promise back in your training days. But what good is a solider that can't follow orders" he clicked his fingers and Andromedian Huskies stopped circling and launched in to attack.

Razor sharp claws and teeth break through skin as he's immediately knocked to the ground. "Wait!" Giroro cried as he held the tried to fight them off, one clamped it's teeth firmly around his arm.

The man clapped his hands and they stopped. "Changed your mind?"

"Never, but I have one last request if this is how i'm going to go"

"Your not really in a position to be making demands"

"Then consider this a plead, if we both are to die, I want to be by her side till the end. I promised her I wouldn't die as long as she's still around"

"what a childish promise but I consider myself merciful if you want to watch her die who am I to stop you"

"Giroro, are you okay?" Natsumi nudged him awake, "you were twitching a lot in your sleep it scared me" she looked at him with those sweet innocent eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't know" he yawned. "Didn't even notice I fell asleep" he doesn't know how he fell asleep he's supposed to be keeping guard of her. But in his defence he's lost a lot of blood recently.

"You don't need to apologise I just wanted to know if your alright, i've never seen you twitch like that and was worried if it's because you were hurt"

"I'm fine, though I'm pretty sure my leg is broken" he felt around the swollen area it hurt like hell, he could feel his bone was snapped in place he had to grit his teeth at the pain "yep defiantly broken"

"No matter i'll carry you out, just got to figure a plan out of this dump" she looked around.

He wishes he was that optimistic but he feels pretty defeated, a man who he had once looked up to in his training days wanted him dead. Keron was no doubt cheering for the death of the one he loved. His life as a solider was over and he never got to say goodbye, he was going to die a prisoner of his own planet and her's will no doubt be destroyed. He's failed everyone and couldn't even tell her what was going to happen he didn't want to crush that spirit.

And the words from earlier still lingered was her love really genuine. Does he want to die broken hardhearted or blissfully ignorant? He just wants to scream as his head goes a mile a minute debating itself. She seems to notice his anguish as she holds him close.

"We will get out of this Giroro, have faith, i'm sure the stupid frog will bust through that door any minute or we'll figure a why out of here ourselves" she tried to comfort him. And he honestly needed it, too often was he the stone that grounded everyone but even stones form cracks when under enough pressure.

Gazuru just sat there in the bar wallowing, he always said it was never too early for a drink. The barkeep kept the grieving man's glass full and didn't ask questions thank god cause that's the last thing he needed right now.

His son was dead there was no beating around the bush, beaten to death by some Pekoponian wrench. at least his wife gets to finally meet their son. The bitter taste of alcohol was as effective now as it was back then, a brief numbness of a pain that'll never go away. He put's down the glass again empty. He doesn't know how many he's downed but he doesn't care, the more it stops him from thinking the better.

He can't help but blame himself, maybe if he paid more attention to kid, was more supportive of his interests instead of pushing him. But now it was too late. The more he thought about it the more his stomach tied itself in knots. No parent deserves to out live their child.

"I had a feeling I'd find you here, demon Corporal Gazuru" a man said siting next to him.

"Just Gazuru now i'm retired" he said uncaring as he chugged another whisky down the hole "I'd salute you Major General Draruru but my drinking arm's busy"

"I understand how you feel, I too have lost a loved one to Pekopon, though it's nothing compared to what I imagine loosing a son is like" he says in sympathy.

"if your here to offer your condolences, you can get lost, I came here to forget" the bar keep refilled his glass, his hand long since numb to the coldness of the glass, as he stares at his reflection wondering how many more it'll take to stop the pain even though he knows the answer is it never will.

"What if you could settle the score? What do you say old man, step out of retirement for one last mission and invade Pekopon?" the man asked his hand playing around with the rim of his own glass.

The red elderly keronian downed his last glass whole slamming it on the bar "you've got yourself a solider, sir" he said solemnly he put the money down on the bar and left. This was his chance to avenge his son, a Pekoponian took his son and violence might not bring him back but it'd settle the score.

The Embassy was under lock down, the pekoponians inside were prisoners to be deported back to their planet, they couldn't be harmed as they had committed no crime. Fuyuki was in Keronian form so he went undetected as he stared back at the embassy from a distance. His family and friends all stuck inside without them, scared, confused and mourning.

"What are we going to do?, help us science man!" Keroro whined at the glasses wearing keronian. The stress was starting to get to him.

"I've been looking for a solution, even the government and army leaders aren't sure what's going on, I can't even find anything on who's in charge of the investigation" the yellow Keronian answered.

"so there's nothing you can do?" the leader asked worried.

"I'm sure if I had more time, I could" Kururu reasoned but truthfully he just refused to admit there was something he couldn't do. If he had access to his mainframe this would be easier, as his laptop could only do so much. Of course, he pulled his phone out he had one option but to do that he needs the help of that woman.

Keroro's phone rung. "Who could that be?" he pulled it out and held it to his ear "Hello? Sargent Keroro speaking" from the caller ID he knew this was a business call.

"Sargent we've been trying to get a hold of you all morning, you weren't at the embassy" the voice said sternly scolding him for his unprofessional-ism.

"Colonel! Sorry I've been um-"

"I know your subordinates death must be hitting you hard but we need you down at the base, so we can straighten this out"

"Yes sir" Keroro stopped his call "so they need us down at the base." he said towards the group, he doubts this'll lead to anything good.

The large foreboding fence encircled the compound. Barbed wire lined the barrier. As they were starting to go inside, Kururu pulled Fuyuki and Dororo to the side. Mois had texted him back with the program he needed. Luckily she saw the urgency of the situation and held off her insufferable questions about Keroro.

"They won't let you in cause your not a solider and they forget you exist but that works out great for what I need you to do." he handed them the phone. "I noticed it when we got here that this is where they are holding his body. Fuyuki if you want to confirm your theory this is your chance but I will warn you might not like what you find" Kururu explained.

"How do you know he's here?" Dororo asked.

"I put a tracking chip into him ages ago to mess with him" Kururu explained, if Giroro was alive, he'd have fun rubbing that in his face.

"Fuyuki this will no doubt be a dangerous mission, are you sure you can handle it?" Dororo asked to the younger keronian.

"Sis's life is on the line I have to" Fuyuki said in determination. Dororo simply nodded in understanding.

"Sargent Keroro and platoon reporting sir" Keroro greeted as he noticed his superior in the building.

"Ah there you are, firstly I'd like to offer my condolences for your loss and secondly we need to discuss what our plan for moving forward in the invasion of Pekopon" the colonel stated this was simply business as usual.

"The invasion of pekopon?" Keroro asked worried.

"Yes, follow me" he waved the group to follow him down the corridor, "I was so sure about this treaty until this morning, it seems Major General Draruru was right. Pekoponians can't be trusted and Natsumi Hinata is proof."

"What's going to happen?" Tamama asked worried.

"She will be put to death for her crimes and you will be redeployed to Pekopon"

they soon stopped in a little court yard, Natsumi sat their on her knees tied to a stump, eyes covered in a mask that didn't hide the tear stains. Surrounding her were a few other high ranked keronians.

"Natsumi" Keroro said in a shaky voice knowing what was coming next. From the shadows came a familiar red Keronian with bushy eyebrows.

"Dad?" Garuru spoke up, noticing his presence.

"Garuru... how are you holding up?" his father spoke softly not to sure how to speak to his last remaining son. The smell of booze heavy on his breath.

"Your the executioner" the purple one said knowingly. He can't blame the man for his violent ways as he himself tried to take the Pekoponian boys life earlier today.

"yes, I'll get my revenge for what she did" he pulled a gun that only those closest to Giroro would remember. When they were kids he brought Giroro his first gun, and now that very weapon would be used to kill his murderer. A significant detail that would go unknown to the woman before him.

"Doesn't she get a trial?" Keroro asked, in a shaky breath, he was starting to panic now.

"A trial? She killed Giroro!" the elder Keronian shouted in anger.

"I keep telling you I didn't!" the scared feminine voice screamed in fear.

"Don't you dare lie to me!" he aimed his gun shakily at the woman "your nothing but a heartless monster who's used him and threw him away like he was nothing. You took my boy" he swallowed the lump in his throat "and I should of killed you when I had the chance" a hand reached out and tipped the barrel of the gun down to the ground. He follows the hand to it's source. His eldest son stares back at him. "Garuru what the hell are you doing?! She killed Giroro."

"I know, but the Sargent instead of being blind-sighted in mourning has preformed an investigation all morning to clear this woman's name. He truly believes her innocence and this treaty and I think we should hear him out." His son explained, a voice of reason in a time of emotional unrest.

"Is this true Sargent?" the colonel asked. Did this man really see something that they were all blinded to. Everyone around him seemed certain of this woman's crime but him, to defend a race they had long been at war with seemed wrong. But that's why he had a soft spot for the Sargent he seemed to see the world through fresh lenses.

"that's insane, you don't seriously believe this woman's innocence do you?" Draruru spoke up. "We have witnesses who saw the crimes with their own eyes, I've seen the body. You seriously think this woman is innocent?!" he shouted in disbelief.

"I do. And so does my platoon, there is no way that Natsumi Hinata would murder Giroro, and if you hold a trail I can prove it." the Sargent said in determination.

"Very well we will hold an emergency Trail to determine the innocence of this Pekoponian" The 5 star general spoke up, he was old but very wise beyond his years.

"But sir!" Draruru tried to reason.

"hush major general. You are a strong man but you seem so stuck in your ways. Young soldiers are the backbone of our army, they are the ones fighting for their lives while we command them from behind our desks. This young man speaks a truth I have not heard for a long time, he holds a new way of thinking that deserves to be nourished. He's putting on the line his proud as a solider and his honour to defend one who he truly thinks is innocent. And if she is, that is one less war to fight and die for. We as a people are supposed to value justice, don't forget what wonderful planet you are apart of."

"Thank you general" Keroro said with a salute tears in his eyes that he was given a chance. Don't worry Natsumi they would save you.
