Interlude: Ruminations.
G-Force Headquarters: Two Months After Desghidorah.
Sho Kuroki walked through the silver hallways as he headed towards the hanger bay where Garuda Mk II was being kept. He sighed, running his left hand through his long dark hair, and feeling his G-Force cap as he put his right hand against the scanner, the green light confirming his identity and opening the automatic door. The hanger was almost dark and cavern like, with only a few lights illuminating it. Turning his head, and seeing the barely repaired Super X3, all Kuroki could do was sigh. "Sorry old girl…. Hate seein' you like this." Kuroki then continued to walk, and before him lay the Garuda Mk II, sitting there like a lurking predatory bird watching its prey. Like the old Garuda, it appeared to be a massive jet like machine, with two long energy cannons in the front, thrusters that allowed it to hover and maneuver like VTOL Jet, a sleek silver colored appearance, and with a curved look that implied it could dock onto something far bigger than it. All thanks to the genius of Kazuma Aoki, who was sitting front of Garuda Mk II, doing something on a computer. "Hey Kazuma!" Kuroki walked over, watching as Kazuma turned around with a surprised expression on his face. Like Kuroki, he was clad in a set of dark blue fatigues, however he was not wearing a cap, his hair was cut short with a neat beard on his face, and on his right hand was a silver ring. "What are you doing?!"
"Oh hey Kuroki. Nothing much, just updating some specs on Garuda…. Before they replace her with that." Gesturing over at another spot in the hanger, there was a massive white sheet with Solstice Technologies Logo on the front of it, covering something underneath it. "It's a machine called G-END or something like that…. whatever…. We're a dying breed I think, no other way about it." The normally cheerful man seemed to be dour that day, and it was something that Kuroki noticed. "It's Azusa….. She saw him again…. Junior…. He was in Hokkaido, fighting that thing….. the dragon. She was so happy, happy to see him come back again. To tell you the truth….. I know why G-Force exists, but…. He's no danger to us."
Kuroki was silent for a minute as he saw Kazuma fingering his Pteranodon necklace, and then answered as he sat down next to him, "I know… I've not slept well since Godzilla died. Winter…. He's talking all this bullshit about defending the human race from kaiju…. But if I had to be honest…. Kaiju, Titans, they're not our enemy. Why else would they defend us from that dragon?" Kazuma thought for a few minutes as he heard some beeping from the computer, and while typing away, he answered Kuroki.
"Usually it's about food, a fight, or something more intimate, but it can be any number of things. Like Rodan a couple of years back. Pteranodons tend to have a nurturing nature towards their young, so Rodan saw Junior as a brother or his young or something like that. Junior saw Azusa as his mother… so maybe that's why he's doing this. He remembers us…. He's repaying us for taking care of him." The computer stopped beeping, and sighing, Kazuma turned back and started staring at the Garuda. "Guess our time will be over soon old girl. Spent a good amount on my life working on her. Wonder what Winter will do with her. Gordon, Yuki, Akane, and Miki have already decided what they're going to do, even Dan, but what about you Kuroki? Might as well focus on my other big passion, Pteranodons. Since Rodan exists, I'm sure plenty of other Rodans may exist as well." Kuroki stayed silent for some time, and clasped his hands together, thinking about when he had first joined the military.
"I don't know Kazuma…. What job is there for a man who put Godzilla out of his misery?" At this, Kazuma went silent, watched as Kuroki sighed, and looked back at the Super X-3, and then noticed a man clad in a long black coat walking towards them, wearing body armor underneath the coat with heavy boots, and a gas mask which covered his face entirely, with what appeared to be red glimmering underneath the eyeholes of the mask.
"Good evening. Am I interrupting anything boys? Anyway, I come here on behalf of Winter boy to see how it's going with the changes," the man spoke, his voice sounding very slimy. There was something about his demeanor that made Kuroki and Kazuma suspicious. "And if I do say so myself, I wouldn't be surprised if he has to keep these, and pardon my Japanese, relics in here…." The man licked his chops under the mask as he said this, and he then held out his hand, expecting one of them to shake it. Kuroki and Kazuma just looked at the gloved hand, seeing that it was drooping just a bit and then stared back at the man, who eventually drew back his hand, and then tilted his head to look at them.
"Look we are still in operation till the end of the year sir," Kuroki responded, stepping back just in case the man was intoxicated, "So I think we don't need any inspections going on right now, okay?" Kazuma also nodded, hoping that the man would go away at this, only to see him come closer, and smell what appeared to be sulfur emanating from his gas mask.
"Wait…. Major Sho Kuroki? Kazuma Aoki? Oh I know you two….. Damn shame you two are going, because you did quite a number on Godzilla. Of course… I personally believe it's fruitless to try and fight kaiju, and if recent events with this, "Death Ghidorah," have taught us anything…. the clock is ticking… ticking… ticking… Of course, try telling that to Winter boy. Anyway, I must go now. Farewell." And with that, the man walked away, leaving Kuroki and Kazuma alone again, wondering what exactly was up with him.
"You know Kuroki….. I hope Junior returns…. And I hope that these world leaders get some sense knocked into their heads. Because if they try and kill Junior…. Then I'll make sure Garuda has one last flight…." With that Kazuma shut off the computer, and grabbing the wheeled cart with his Pteranodon Glider resting on it, he started to leave the hanger, while Kuroki looked once again at the sheet covered G-END.
"….. So do I Kazuma…. So do I…." He then got up, and left too, wondering what would happen at the end of the year.
Somehow, he couldn't help but feel as if the kaiju attacks would keep escalating, especially with the recent oceanic tremors, like there was some sort of deep-sea life on the move.
Monster Island: Many Years Ago.
On an island in the Pacific a tempest was surrounding it, the winds and rain giving the thunder and lightning a presence as if it was the end of the world. It did not deter the one-eyed Angilas, as he walked towards a cliff, holding a smaller one in his mouth. As he moved on his way through the storm, he soon reached the end of the cliff, and looked down at the waves below, with the sharp rocks at the bottom. He grinned upon seeing this, knowing they would get the job done. The smaller one then cried out in fear as he saw the rocks, and screamed, "LET ME GO! PLEASE DADDY!" Anguirus continued to squirm, hoping he could get out of the bigger one's grip. Another lightning bolt ripped across the sky, and he cried out in fear again as he saw the rocks illuminated.
"Weakling. It's about damn time I did this you little bastard," Bōryu grinned as he dangled the squirming Anguirus over the cliff, "You aren't worthy of being an Angilas Tribe member, and you aren't worthy of being my son. Now why don't you do something right, and die?!" Anguirus screamed once again, but then suddenly a roar behind him caught both of their attentions, and Bōryu turned around, still holding his son in his mouth. Anguirus managed to fully squirm out, and ran over to a bigger Angilas who was standing there, with burning fury in his eyes.
"What. Are. You. Doing?!" Baraguirus growled at his son, and quickly ushered Anguirus near him, the young Angilas quickly hiding behind him. "He's your son! And now you want him dead?!"
"I wouldn't expect you to understand you old fool," Bōryu growled, turning to look at his father, his damaged eye and one single eye staring into him. "He is not my son, and he never will be! He's weak! Helpless! He'll be the death of our tribe! And I've made my decision and that's FINAL!"
"No son…. Don't," Baraguirus rumbled as he watched Anguirus hide behind some rocks out of the corner of his eye. "Don't do this… it isn't what she would want…."
"DON'T YOU DARE BRING HER UP!" As another flash of lightning tore across the sky, Anguirus watched in fear as his father stood still for several minutes, a look of fury taking hold of him as he grinned slightly. "I see what I have to do now…. You'll defend that worthless creature with your life won't you father?" Bōryu then roared and charged towards Baraguirus, the other Angilas letting a tear fall from his eye, before he too charged and roared as well. "THEN YOU CAN JOIN HIM!" The two were locked into brutal combat, with Bōryu pushing back against Baraguirus, and then slashing him with his claws, sending blood flying into a puddle. Baraguirus's tail whipped into Bōryu, knocking the dinosaur close to the cliff before the two rolled into their ball mode, and slammed into each other. The grinding sent several rock fragments towards Anguirus who barely moved out of the way as the two then started biting and clawing, roaring all the while as the rain fell faster. Then for a brief minute, Baraguirus managed to throw Bōryu into the side of a cliff and with a quick swipe of his tail, sliced open his front leg, leaving the other Angilas in a position for him to deal a killing blow.
But all Baraguirus could see in front of him was a happy little child Angilas, running towards his father. "You're….. you're no longer my son…. He died in the Cataclysm….." Because of Baraguirus's hesitation, Bōryu suddenly roared, and before Anguirus's eyes, what appeared a dark aura surrounded him, and when Baraguirus leaped at him, he countered by leaping at the same moment and then sliced into his side causing the older Angilas to fall down, bit his tail, and tossed him towards the cliff again. Bōryu smiled as Baraguirus got up and tried to charge into him again, and then quickly stabbed him with his claws, not in vital areas as the Angilas started gasping in pain. "I…. I… won't let you t-t-take him…. you demon…." Anguirus suddenly saw his grandfather get raised higher as the demon drew more blood from him, the demon's grin being illuminated by the lightning and thunder. Then the demon threw him down, and as Baraguirus struggled to get up, the demon approached him, ready to slash into him some more.
"Your time is over old fool! NOW DIE!" Anguirus then tore out from behind the rocks, his rage building upon seeing this, and he leaped onto the demon's back and bit into his neck.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Bōryu then arched back as he felt the tiny fangs dig in, and grabbing Anguirus's tail in his mouth, tossed him into a cliff wall, causing the young Angilas to go limp as he slammed into it.
"Finally….. I did what had to be done…. No-" As Bōryu uttered what would be his final sentence Baraguirus leaped up, and bit into his throat, his eyes burning in fury as he sank into his son's flesh, the warm blood feeding into his rage as he pulled, taking most of Bōryu's throat with him. As Bōryu started to back away, gurgling in surprise, Baraguirus then slashed into him some more as he saw the sight of Anguirus's limp body in his mind, remembering all the time he spent with his grandson. He remembered how he always was curious to see what he knew about their world, how he always would try and get him to share a meal with him, how he practiced hunting for prey with him, his bright smile, and how they would sleep together, if only because of the young Angilas's fear of his own father. And he had been taken away from him possibly, by his own flesh-and-blood, and now, Baraguirus's rage had finally taken over. As he pushed Bōryu closer to the cliff, the other started to plead with him silently, fear taking over as one more slash opened up a wound on his other front leg.
"…. Farewell….." As Baraguirus brought his claws down on the cliff, he saw Bōryu let out a silent scream as he fell towards the rocks and ocean below, but looked away, running back to the body of his grandson. He did not care for the wounds on his body, nor the pain he was in, kneeling down, he started to nudge Anguirus. "No… Guirus…. Wake up… please… grandpa's here… grandpa's here… He won't…. he won't hurt you anymore…" Baraguirus kept nudging him, but the smaller dinosaur stayed limp. Weeping, Baraguirus knelt down next to the body of his grandson, and stayed with him…. as he slowly processed what had just happened. Then suddenly, the older Angilas heard the sound of tiny breaths, and a weak voice.
"G-g-grandpa? I-is he gone?" Anguirus got up, slowly but steadily, and Baraguirus's tears suddenly became filled with relief, and he wrapped his front legs around the smaller dinosaur, nuzzling the head of his grandson.
"My baby boy…. He's gone…. He'll never hurt you again…." The two stayed there for a long time, barely even noticing the other members of their tribe running up to find out what had happened.
Bōryu was no more, washed away in the sea.
Monster Island?
Leo looked around at the island, noticing how there was nobody there, and it was only him right now. In fact the seas seemed to be quite rough with what appeared to be dead sea life, and where the sky would be, was nothing but darkness. And in spite of this, Leo was not scared, rather he looked around for where the orchestrator of the dream was. "I know you're there Gabara…. show yourself!" Leo then quickly flew out of the way as a clawed hand swiped at him from behind, and then turned around to see the dream demon looking at him, his face a mixture of disappointment and yet hunger.
"All grown up are you? Disappointing….." Gabara's long tongue licked his teeth as he said this, the look of desire growing as Leo quickly dodged a swipe from a phantom claw which came out of the ground. He flew further away as Gabara barely walked after him. "You…. so scared were you? But now…. I'm nothing more than an annoyance am I? Or is there something else that scares you?" As Gabara said this, a manifestation appeared above him, and it was one Leo knew quite well. "You're scared of disappointing Mommy aren't you? Heh heh heh…. The whore died trying to protect you…. and you have all of this power….. which pales to my world….." Raising his claws up, Gabara suddenly turned the sky into a blaze of fire, and the ocean to a blood red as the Mothra manifestation fully appeared above him. Her pure white eyes stared at Leo as she flew at him, with Gabara's voice emanating from her. "You can't escape me Leo…. You disappointing waste….."
"I must not fear, fear is the mind killer," Leo muttered as he looked up upon the rocky cliffs of the island, and suddenly saw something marked on one of them. "You think she would be disappointed in me Gabara?" He quickly allowed the manifestation to fly at him, before he fired off his chest beam, and destroyed it. "You never even knew her…. But I'm sure your parents were disappointed in you weren't they? Disappointed their son used his gifts to be a sadist?" At this, Gabara's eyes widened in anger, and then roaring, Leo quickly flew away as the dream demon thrust his claws into the ground, and multiple claws shot out trying to slash the new Guardian of Earth. "Disappointed that he would murder children? Disappointed how he didn't help others?" Gabara then grew bigger and bigger as Leo flew closer and closer to the mark on the cliff. "Disappointed because they made you?"
"YOU WILL DIE SCREAMING!" Gabara lunged at Leo, and the Moth dodged as he fired his forehead beam at one of Gabara's eyes, blasting the massive dream demon back. "No… this is my world… I control it, you don't! Why aren't you scared?!" Gabara fell back as Leo blasted him again and again with his forehead beam. "No… at the end of fear, oblivion…" With one more blast, Gabara had stepped back into the bloody ocean, and the sea creatures started to climbing up his leg as he tried to shock them off in fear with his electric claws.
"I do not fear you anymore Gabara…. because you are nothing…. But I know what scares you the most." At this, Leo looked at the mark on the cliff wall, and saw his mother's symbol on it, and then touched it as he put some energy into it. The shining light hit Gabara, and the demon roared as the light consumed Leo, and then the fake Monster Island started to fall away as Gabara fell into the void while reaching out, desperate to grab onto his victim, and feed off of him.
Leo woke up, and looked at the sunlight coming from the hole in the top of his cave, breathing gently. He was sure that Gabara would be back eventually….. and this time…. he would make sure it would be the last time.
Monster Island: 2 Months after Desghidorah.
Anguirus woke up and drowsily walked over to the waterfall, and started drinking as he groaned in pain, and then quickly washed himself off to get rid of the pain in his back. Stepping out from behind the waterfall, he suddenly saw Leo flying towards him, the moth seeming as if he had just woken up. Behind him, Junior walked after, the son of Godzilla having a happy expression on his face. "Hey Leo, Junior, you sleep well last night?" Anguirus walked up to them, feeling the pain disappearing as he looked at the two of them. They had taken to sleeping together more often now, something that the dinosaur initially thought was brought on upon by Mothra's death, and Junior's desire to not leave Leo alone in his grief. He had slept near them several times, and yet the way the two curled up next to each other, whether it was consciously or unconsciously, it became apparent that the two really felt relaxed next to each other. He said nothing of course, merely just watching them, and being reminded of his time with Mothra. "If they're happy being with each other, then I'm happy."
"We slept great Guirus, thanks for asking," Junior cheerfully answered, looking at Leo as he said this. "We're getting stronger every day, I can feel it. What about you Guirus, you sleep well last night?" Anguirus nodded yes, but did not speak about the memory he had for a dream, the one about his father and grandfather.
"I saw Gabara again," Leo answered, without a tinge of fear in his voice. "He made a mistake this time…. and once I got rid of him, I slept very well."
"Oh him." Anguirus was not surprised that Leo knew of his name, but he was even more surprised by how the moth had seemingly handled the dream demon. "Anyway… let's go find Kong and the others okay? We need to keep on training you two." Anguirus almost found himself saying "lovebirds," but quickly catching himself. As he led the two kaiju towards the beach, he could see Caesar and Ebirah right there, the guardian trying to hide a smile as he saw the crustacean locked into combat with Kong, the ape's axe sticking out of the sand.
"Oh hey guys, you won't believe who scuttled out of his cave to train with us. Yeah, turns out this guy's been training with Neo all this time," Kong chuckled as he broke Ebirah's grasp and grabbed the crustacean in a neckhold, the crashing waves and seagull cries adding to Ebirah's frustrated grunts.
"I am constantly surprised by you all." Caesar picked up his staff and watched as Kong let Ebirah go, the sea monster shaking himself off. "The Wielder of the Lightning of the Heavens here, instead of Skull Island? Certainly a surprise. And this creature, this Ebirah here, he seems to be taking to combat well."
"First of all I'm not some creature, I can talk ya know. Secondly, I'm only doing this because I am well aware Bagan still has more freaks up his ass, so I'd better be prepared next time one of them shows up." Ebirah snapped his claws, and then dunked his head in the ocean, before shaking off the water again. "So yeah, expect to see more of me around here, alright?"
"Sure." Anguirus then looked at Kong, the ape picking up his axe, and then asked, "Wait, I thought it was called the Sacred Lightning."
"It's both," Kong answered as he stretched himself. "The lightning has different names, just whatever suits your fancy."
"Alright, let's get some training done today, okay?" Junior then started walking towards Neo's cave, only for Leo to hold him back as Caesar and Kong moved ahead of them with Ebirah, and then motioned for Anguirus to stay back as well. "Oh? Leo? What is it?" The Shobijin looked at Leo, who told them to go with the rest of the group, and after they were gone, it was only the trio.
"Leo…. It's about Neo isn't it?" Anguirus scratched at the ground, and then saw the moth putting his head down, like he had been hiding something.
"Listen Junior, Anguirus, I haven't told anyone else about this, and even then I might be wrong, but….. when we were practicing telepathy with Neo…. I detected something."
"What was it Leo?" Junior looked at his friend, seeing the conflict present in his face, and Anguirus did too, wondering if he could say anything to the moth to help him.
"I looked into his mind…. And I found something, a word. "The Beast." And the way he acted…. It was like he wanted to keep it a secret." Anguirus did not know how to answer the moth, but Junior then spoke up, meaning he didn't have to.
"I remember that…. he said it was just a test… but you think he's hiding something from us don't you?" Leo nodded yes, and Anguirus's face suddenly turned grim as he thought of the implications of this.
"The Beast…. He doesn't want us to think he's a burden does he?" Anguirus thought of his dream… and how he had seen his father simply as a demon as he and his grandfather fought, and started to wonder about Neo. "Or…. He feels like he'll turn against us if he doesn't get it under control…. What should we do Leo?"
"I don't know Guirus, I don't know," Leo sighed as he flapped his wings, and some cosmic energy crackled around him. "He won't be happy if I try talking to him about it, and I'm afraid he'll do something."
"Then let me be there Leo," Junior answered, putting his hand on Leo's back. "We'll do it together okay?" Leo nodded, and then the three went towards Neo's cave, joining Caesar, Kong and Ebirah at the entrance. As they walked in, Junior activated his telepathy, listening in on the thoughts of everyone, trying to find Neo's.
"I can sense Atlantis returning soon, and my sister as well. I hope she can join us in this battle…."
"Lightning Mode, Lightning Mode, Lightning Mode. Should I try it out next time there's a battle? Or is it not worth the risk? And when will Kiri be ready? I haven't seen her in some time."
"Junior…. I know what you're doing. Be careful…. If the Beast is what I think it is, you don't want it in your mind."
"Ya know, I'm kinda curious to see what else I can do. Spitting up boiling sea water, claws, and this "Ki Punch?" Gotta say, now I want to try all this out."
"Junior and Leo… Lea do you see them? They really love each other…. Even if they can't admit it.." At this, Junior felt his heart skip a beat, and he quickly stopped looking into Anguirus's mind, with the Shobijin staring wide eyed at him. And then, he heard another voice, one that he was all too familiar with.
"They're coming right now, but if I take them in the chamber, what if the Beast comes out in the chamber? I think Leo knows…. What do I say damn it?! I want to do good in her name, not let her down…." At this Junior turned off his powers, and looked at Leo silently, the young moth getting the message. As they walked into Neo's cave, they could see him bent over, his hand on some vegetation on the wall, and waited for him to notice them. He then looked at them, hiding his look of nervousness with a solemn glare. "Good, you're here. Are you ready for training today?" Junior nodded, and Neo opened up the chamber, his gaze not leaving Junior as everyone else went in, and then closed it before Leo and Junior could enter. "…..You know…. both of you… don't you?"
"Yes Neo, we know, both of us, and so does Anguirus," Leo stated, his voice sounding concerned as he said this.
"Neo, we can help you," Junior continued, watching as Neo turned away shamefully, not even looking at them. "I don't know much about this Beast…. But let us help you…. please Neo…."
"…. I can handle this myself…. I guess it was only a matter of time before someone figured it out," Neo murmured as his hand shook, "Let's just train now okay? I don't want to talk about this right now. I have it under control, okay?" In truth, Neo hadn't felt the Beast's presence after the outburst a while ago, and he was even wondering if the Beast was still present in his mind, but he couldn't be sure.
"Alright Neo," Leo answered, the moth unsure if the Space Kaiju really was telling the truth, and then watched as he opened up the door for them to go in. "Whatever you say…." As the door shut behind the, Neo activated the chamber, and the kaiju went their separate ways as Neo and Junior stayed behind, their conversation not over yet.
"Neo, let's try training together okay?" Junior looked at the Space Kaiju who seemed confused initially on why Junior stayed. "I believe you if you say you have everything under control, so I won't ask you anything more about it. But Neo, we are all here if you need help in dealing with it, so come to us, okay?"
"Hm," Neo grunted. "I don't think I'll have to brother, but I admire your concern…. Now are you ready? I will not go easy on you." Junior nodded silently, and the two stood back, looking at each other for quite some time, before they charged, and started to grapple with each other in the middle of the chamber. Neo's surprising strength caught Junior off guard, and pushing back, Junior then decked Neo right in the face, causing him to fall back a bit. Neo then used his telekinesis to grab onto Junior, and held him up, watching as Junior's own eyes started to glow red. "Yes… yes.. good brother… good…" With a flick of his wrist, Junior quickly blasted Neo with his own telekinesis, and then charged at Neo, who summoned several crystals which Junior destroyed with a Spiral Ray.
"Can you handle this Neo?" Junior then charged into Neo and pushed him into the starfield, the space kaiju smiling as he felt the son of Godzilla's strength. Elsewhere, Anguirus and Ebirah were together, the two having summoned up two Destoroyahs for the two of them to fight.
"Hey, stop shaking will you?" Ebirah looked up at Anguirus, the dinosaur trying not to laugh at the scared crustacean. "I want to see what you can do okay?"
"S-s-sure thing…. I just never….. uh looked at this thing too closely….." Ebirah breathed in as the twin kaiju charged at him and Anguirus. The dinosaur bit onto his Destoroyah's neck, and then pulled It down as purple beam fired out of the construct's maw, narrowly missing Anguirus's stomach. He then leaped off of the construct and quickly fired several sonic booms from his claws and tail, severing the claws of the construct. As he rolled into it, Ebirah stared at the other Destoroyah construct, Its own claws grabbing Ebirah's and hoisting him up in the air, starting to pull as It smiled. "Really? Pulling my claws off? Next you'll be fighting an oversized bird won't you?" Ebirah quickly spat boiling seawater at It, and the construct dropped the crustacean who then slammed his claws into It, and then reared up as two hidden limbs with club like tips came out of his body and punched the construct rapidly and with great force, seemingly creating a blast of light that blew off Its claws, allowing Ebirah to leap onto It and then clamp his claws on Its, squeezing it. "Hey I warned you buddy….. now taste them!" As Ebirah rode the construct, Anguirus fired one more sonic boom from his tail, slicing his construct in half lengthwise. Elsewhere, Caesar and Kong looked at the constructs they had summoned, which included Ramarak, Varan, and a strange creature that appeared to be made out of magma, and resembled a multi-armed demonic creature that Kong did not Recognize.
"Kumasogami," Caesar spoke as he got into a fighting stance, "Perhaps one of the most odious demons I have ever faced."
"Oh…. That sounds about right," Kong chuckled as he saw the constructs watching them, and then got into a fighting stance as well. As the constructs charged, so did Kong and Caesar, the two punching Ramarak away at once, and then breaking up to take on Varan and Kumasogami, Kong handling the latter and Caesar the former. Kong watched as the demon transformed his arms into various swords, and at one point what appeared to be a series of spears, dodging each blow as he punched and kicked at the demon, feeling him stagger. Grabbing out his chain and axe, he then whipped the demon and pulled off on of his arms, and then clashed his axe against another one of the demon's blades, starting to charge up his Sacred Lightning to which he then summoned down, blasting the demon with lightning out of his axe. Caesar parried several slashes from Varan and then using his staff, hit the reptile up in the air and leaped up quickly moving his staff and hitting Varan rapidly before his axe kick sent the reptile falling back down to the ground. As the two continued to fight the three constructs, Leo himself was alone in the starfield, and waited patiently for his opponent to appear. Then a shape appeared in the starfield, and out emerged….. another Leo.
"I will get stronger….. let's go!" Leo flew at his copy, their forehead beams clashing into each other, followed by an explosion of colors. Leo then flew over his copy and concentrated, ring shaped energy coming out of his body which then slammed the copy into the ground while exploding. Leo then flew down as he fired his chest beam next, only for the copy to suddenly fire out scales from his wings, disrupting the beam and knocking Leo over. "Alright then…. time to test out this." A sigil appeared and surrounded Leo as he concentrated his power, and as the clone flew at him while firing lighting out of his wings, Leo entered Lightspeed Form. The clone almost seemed to stop in midair, flapping slowly as Leo flew around it, suddenly seeing one of his mother's memories of her entering it for the first time. And yet…. He could not feel his energy draining as hers did…. rather it seemed as if it was keeping him like this for a long time, long enough to do anything. Leo charged into the copy, slicing into him several times before firing a chest beam into him. "Wow… the power…. It's…. could I….. could I?" But before Leo could test out that question, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his heart, and then quickly dropped out of Lightspeed Form, watching as the copy Leo fell into bloody chunks and then disappeared back into the starfield. Leo felt the pain disappear, and he started breathe normally again, only to notice he had left his section of the chamber, and everyone else was looking at him.
"Leo…. Are you okay?" Junior walked over to Leo, the chamber going back to its normal state as the moth collapsed on the ground. Leo looked up at Junior weakly, and Junior picked him up, carrying him out of the chamber with everyone else.
"Yeah…. Sorry… I just experimented…. That's all." Leo curled up in Junior's chest as he exited the cave, and Anguirus, Ebirah, Kong, and Ceasar went their separate ways, each of them reflection on their own training, and wondering what Leo had done to get in that state. He felt warm inside as Junior held him close to his chest, protecting him and carrying him back to his cave. "I love you Junior…. I'll protect you all…. No matter what…"
"I love you too Leo…. And I will do the same." Junior felt the warm feeling in his chest as he kept Leo near him, and smiled…. holding the kaiju he loved.
The Dark World: 3 Months After Desghidorah.
"Well it was quite fun staying with Winter boy for some time, but I got bored very quickly," Hedorah snorted as he quickly absorbed his clothes and gas mask into himself and turned back into his smog form. "Now tell me jolly green, what's been going on since I've been gone?" Gaira, Megalon, Lilith, Nimrod, Zilla and Megagurius all stared at Hedorah, before the Gargantua stepped forward and answered the spirit.
"Nuthin much. Except for the new guy, all he does is just float there, watchn' all of us." As Gaira gestured with his club, Hedorah looked at the ghostly Gojira, who true to Gaira's word, was floating up in the air, just staring off into the distance. "Doesn't even talk either. Just that once and nuthin else." Hedorah snorted and then floated over to Lilith, the Muto Tribe member smiling as she saw him.
"And how are you holding up my dear sweet queen?" One of Hedorah's tendrils wrapped around Lilith's chin and she licked his transparent body, something Hedorah made sure to do when he noticed Dagahra looking at him.
"Just well my king, and even happier now that you have returned," Lilith seductively purred, the two leaving as the rest of the group did as well. "Oh how I've missed you…." Dagahra spat as he heard the two talking to each other, and then looked around the Dark World, seeing nothing but himself, Deutalios, and Gojira, the creature's aura making Dagahra feel for lack of a better word…. cold. Sighing, the water dragon looked down at his claws as a Barem crawled down his arm, and remembered his talks with Desghidorah. The Barem then deposited a black and red scale in the middle of Dagahra's claw, and he looked at it, rubbing it gently.
"I miss you Des…. Why…. Why did you have to go and do that?" In many ways, Dagahra couldn't help but feel as if it was his fault Desghidorah went and got himself killed, all because he had told him to not take any more shit from Bagan or Ghidorah. "… Why is it that I'm the one who loses everyone and anyone I care about?" He looked at Deutalios, and watched him as he sniffed the viewing globe, watching something going on in it, and sighed. "I can't lose you…. I won't lose you…. We'll get back home somehow…. And then we'll make them pay… make them all pay… I will be Master of the Sea, one way or the other….. and I'll save you Des…. You can meet all of my friends…. I promise…." Dagahra looked at the scale once more, before the Barem came back down and took it back inside Dagahra's shoulder cannon, storing it safely away. He then looked back at Gojira, and noticed the phantom was staring at him, as if the creature had heard him speaking somehow. Then he suddenly felt a tiny claw on his shoulder, and the sound of an excited Deutalios who was gesturing at the viewing globe.
"BOSS LOOK! ATLANTIS! IT'S RISING!" True to the rat kaiju's words, there was a city rising out of the ocean somewhere in the Pacific. Humans had called this city many names in the past, such as Nirai Kanai, but even they could only imagine the beauty and size of the city, along with its power source, which seemed to have finally reactivated. Dagahra breathed in, looking at how small the city was from the Dark World, and he placed his claw against the Globe, a tear coming to his eye.
"Beautiful isn't it Dagahra?" Bagan's voice echoed throughout the Dark World, and Dagahra nodded, ignoring his massive dislike for Bagan right now. "I can tell you are waiting for me to give you permission to go. Remember what I said Dagahra, give me the power source from the city, and you will have nothing more to do with me. You will be free…. I promise." Dagahra looked back to where Bagan's voice was coming from, only to notice Gojira had disappeared into thin air.
"Sure thing Bagan, sure thing." As the dark portal appeared before them, Dagahra looked back at Deutalios, and remembered how long they had been on their own…. after the humans had gotten rid of them because they were "useless," and "dangerous to everything," after he had learned that his friends had been sealed away because they were "dangerous" too, after Atlantis sunk beneath the waves because of something going wrong, and after…. Desghidorah left.
He would make everything right…. and soon everybody would know who was Master of the Sea, and even Bagan would know as well. The power source and the Gyaos would be just enough to take him down. The two went through the portal, and soon only the viewing globe was left in the Dark World. In Bagan's own personal lair, Gojira stood before him, his shell suspended in a pillar of light as the phantom listened to what Bagan had to say.
"My newest Acolyte…. You will tail close behind Dagahra and Deutalios as they make their way to Atlantis. You may use your powers should you find anyone of use to me, and once Dagahra has the power source…. he will attempt to betray me. End his life. This I command." Gojira nodded silently, seeing Bagan's black hand beckoning him, the starfield within seeming to move along with it. A dark portal opened, and Gojira floated in, the phantom too dropping on Earth, albeit much further away from Dagahra and Deutalios's location. "And as for you Earth Defenders, fight them if you dare…. Especially you Junior, Son of Godzilla."
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.
As the massive blue and obsidian covered city rose out of the ocean, tremors were sent everywhere as a blue light shot out of the spire in the center of the city, the long dormant Heart reactivating as Atlantis settled gently on the surface, waiting for someone to come to it.
"Atlantis…. It has returned….. I must hurry!"
An Eastern-Style Dragon burst out of a underwater cave, her blue and cream colored scales making her match in with the rest of the ocean, four limbs on her long almost snake-like body with golden tipped claws, and her draconic face, a fierce expression burning in her golden eyes as she swam towards the location of the tremors, her six golden horns allowing her to swim faster than she had in her life.
Manda was awake now.
