(Last chapter)
"I don't CARE about myself at the moment! I only care about Ziva!" Tony snapped
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
Abby, Palmer and Ducky were in autopsy. They were all worried. They were thinking about Ziva.
"Ducky, Jimmy. I really hope that Ziva's ok."
"I'm sure that Ziva will be fine Abigail. She is the fearless Ziva David." Ducky went up to her and gave her a hug.
Jimmy decided to join in. "Yeah Abby. I'm sure that Ziva will be fine. Besides. I've heard a rumor that Ziva is back in he States. I overheard a conversation between two agents apparently Ziva's in Bethesda." Autopsy Gremlin said casually.
"WHAT?!" Abby and Ducky yelled at once.
"What? It was just a rumor."
"Jimmy. You should have said something."
Ducky was already gone. Abby ran to catch up. Jimmy decided to follow. They all went to the hospital in Ducky's car.
"Officer Ziva David please." Abby said.
"Yes she's in the ICU ward room 247. She was brought in unconscious but now it seems she has waken up just minutes ago..."
Ziva was sleeping. She was confused. She could only see black. It reminded her of that other day in the hospital. She could hear people talking. She could hear Tony especially. His words were encouraging. She was trying to wake up but her body felt too week to open her eyes even. Come on Ziva open your eyes dammit. She scolded herself mentally. She could hear Gibbs, Tony, McGee, Jenny. She wanted to reply but she couldn't. she used all the strength she could muster. She only managed to open her eyes the slightest bit. She caught a glimpse of Tony.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
Tony was watching her. He was hoping that she would wake up soon. He was watching her and saying things over and over again. When he saw her eyes open slightly. He narrowed his eyes.
"Ziva?"
Ziva's heart monitor was speeding up. Tony could see tears seeping out of her eyes.
Gibbs, Jenny and McGee looked up.
"Hey, Ziver. It's ok." She looked distressed. Her eyes still barely open.
Ziva finally managed to open her eyes. Her eyes were filled with tears. Her heart monitor was now racing. The doctors rushed in.
Doctor Lewis was encouraging her to relax.
"Ziva. You've got to relax and then you'll feel better." Doctor Lewis encouraged.
She told Ziva to match her breaths. Ziva imitated her. Slowly. She began to calm down.
Finally, Doctor Lewis thought it was the right time to ask her questions.
"Ziva do you remember what happened?"
"I was really tired. I went to sleep for a bit. I was trying to wake up for a long time and I could not open my eyes."
"Are you feeling ok?" Doctor Lewis asked.
Gibbs gave her a look urging her to tell the truth. Ziva gulped. She didn't know what to say. She was tired and miserable but she wasn't used to admitting she was sick.
"I- I don't- I don't feel good." She admitted.
"Ok. I'll give you something to make you feel a little bit better." The Doctor inserted something into Ziva's IV and Ziva was feeling a little better.
Doctor Lewis left. when Abby, Ducky and Jimmy entered.
"Zeeeeevaaa!" Abby ran up to her and gave her a gentle hug.
"Hello my dear. How are you."
"Hello everyone. Well Ducky. I have been better, but I'm alright." Ziva admitted.
"It's good that you're back safe here at home."
"Yeah Ducky. It feels great to be back." Ziva sighed.
"Well my dear you should rest." Ducky suggested.
Everyone gave her looks that agreed to Ducky's statement.
"Actually I was wondering when I could leave here." Ziva asked/stated ignoring all the pleading looks telling her to sleep.
"Ziver you will leave when the doctors say you can." Gibbs ordered. Ziva knew that was the no joke, no disobeying tone that Gibbs often used to tell her to do what she is told.
"But have been here for long enough have I not?" Ziva was really dreading the long stay in captivity again.
Jenny raised an eyebrow telling her to obey Gibbs' order.
"Ok fine." Ziva rolled her eyes, frowned, huffed and slouched back into her bed.
If Ziva wasn't so sick, she didn't just heal from a concussion and a large gash on the side of her head. Gibbs would have slapped her on the back of the head, hard.
"Come on Ziva. Please rest." Abby chimed in. She pleaded with her eyes again like a little lost puppy dog.
"Fine. But please leave." Ziva gave in.
They all left.
"Don't you try to escape from bed. I'll be watching you." Gibbs whispered in her ear before he left.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
Gibbs was still mad at Jenny. How she could have let this happen.
They were all outside of Ziva's room. Gibbs knew what he needed to do.
"Director. Need agents outside Ziva's room at all times." Gibbs said simply.
"Of course. I'll make that happen immediately."
"When Ziver's out of hospital I want her under protective custody until this is over."
"Under protective custody with who?" Jenny asked.
Gibbs thought about it for a minute. She can stay with me but she seems to hate it at my house.
"She can stay with me." Tony said out of nowhere.
"Are you sure Tony?" Gibbs asked.
"Yes Gibbs. I'm sure." Tony said indefinitely.
"Ok, she will be staying with Agent DiNozzo?" Jenny needed confirmation.
"Yes." Tony said before Gibbs could change his mind for him.
"Alright.' Jenny confirmed.
Abby, Ducky and McGee were smiling at Tony. This is why they loved Tony. Always caring and looking out for his friends. Jimmy merely looked confused.
OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOo
They were all just standing there when they heard Ziva's heart monitor going wild. Ziva was mumbling something in her sleep. She was sweating and squirming all over her bed. They all ran in followed by Doctor Lewis. Tony gestured to them all that he was going to handle it. He walked up to Ziva's bed. He stood there for a second. Then he spoke.
"Ziva." He said softly. He stroked her arm. She didn't wake.
"Ziva." He said again shaking her slightly. She was now crying in her sleep. She's having a nightmare.
"Come on Ziva. Wake up!" This time Tony shouted.
"TONY!" She shouted
Ziva's eyes snapped open. She quickly sat up and she was crying. She was breathing hard, she was also shaking.
Doctor Lewis wanted to run in and sedate her but she new that Tony could handle it. She knew that hearing Tony's soothing voice was good for her. She could see how much they meant to each other.
Tony was stroking Ziva's back and saying soothing words to her. She was crying into his shoulder.
"Tony." Ziva said quietly.
"It's ok Ziva. It was just a dream." Tony reassured her.
He pulled her apart from his body and forced her to look at him. He gently placed his finger under her chin.
"Everything's going to be ok alright? I promise." Tony said softly.
Hearing those words reassured her.
"Tony, I'm going to be sick." Ziva yelled suddenly.
Tony's reflexes worked faster than before and he grabbed the bedpan next to Ziva and encouraged her through it all.
This time Doctor Lewis was forced to come in. She gently told Tony to go to the other side of the bed and support her. Tony obeyed. He held Ziva's hand while saying reassuring words. When it was over, Doctor Lewis ordered her to sleep. Ziva simply said no.
"Ziva you have to sleep."
"No." Her eyes were brimming with tears.
"Ziva. It's ok. I'll be right here." Tony knew that she needed to sleep because she was so sick but he also knew she was avoiding sleep now because of the nightmare.
"Tony can you please stay with me?" Ziva begged. She really was tired but she was afraid to shut her eyes.
"I'm not going anywhere. I promise." Tony kissed her on the cheek to show her that he wasn't going to leave.
Ziva gave him a miserable smile and she slowly fell back asleep. Doctor Lewis looked at her concerned. She put something down on the chart.
The team watched Tony take care of the situation. They were all stunned by how well he handled the situation. All they could do was watch their friend suffer through the glass while her partner tried to calm her down.
Watching it all unfold, deep down, Gibbs knew that Ziva would be safe with Tony.
A/N: Maybe this is a Tiva story... But I really enjoyed writing this story. It's not over yet. Don't worry! I actually don't know how to end it. I could make it keep going and going if ya want. I would feel sad when it does end though. ;-;
