The group all stayed at the edge of the forest, watching as the rest of the water are in Spiral Mountain went back to its respective place in the world below, with a sense of pride. Now that one Dark Master has been taken care of, they only needed to find the right strategies to deal with them.

Everyone sat down near a tree at the entrance of the forest, with Killua on the front of the group. Mimi, Palmon and Chuumon were at the shore, close by, doing something else.

"We know all of the members of the Dark Masters," Killua said, using a stick to make drawings on the floor. "Puppetmon, Machinedramon, and Piedmon. We know nothing about them, except for Machinedramon; it is a Dramon and therefore VictoryGreymon can take care of it with the Dramon Breaker. The other two are other story..."

"Puppetmon was able to manipulate our movements with those strings when we fell in the Dark Zone," Izzy said. "But it was because they caught us by surprise."

"They'll most likely be keeping an eye on us in their respective zone," Wizardmon said. "So it's possible that he can take us by surprise again."

"You were able to break them before," Gatomon pointed out. "Using your barrier."

"She's right," Killua nodded. "So if we feel that our movements being restrained by those strings of his then you'll be the one in charge to set us free."

He tilted his head. "And if he uses another trick? I doubt they'll settle for just one way to attack us."

"There's not much we can do," Sora said. "Like Killua said we don't know much about their abilities. So, as much as we don't like it, we'll have to work it out as we face them."

"Sadly, she's right," Killua sighed.

Everyone got up and they faced the forest behind them. "It's time to take care of them... Everyone ready?" He asked.

He received nods of confirmation except for...

"Wait! We're almost done!" Mimi called from the shore.

They turned to see that Mimi, Chuumon and Palmon made two, symbolic, sand tombs with wooden crosses on top of them. Palmon sighed as they finished imbedding the crosses. "Done."

"What are those?" Tai asked.

Chuumon had his head dowm in respect. "Tombs. For Sukamon and Piximon."

"Sukamon was Chuumon's dear friend and Piximon gave his life for us," Mimi said as she also held her head down. "Is the least we can do for them now..."

"And the most we can do is beating the Dark Masters!" Tai said. "We'll fight with them until we defeat them!"

Mimi looked reluctant at what Tai said. "Do we... Really have to fight again?"

Killua frowned and knelt at her side. "Are you having doubts?"

Mimi bit her lower lips, eyes trembling. "It's just that... I don't like it... To keep fighting and seeing others die like Piximon... We have many close calls before and we always lucked out... What if in the next fight we aren't lucky again?" Tears of fear threatened to fall from her eyes.

"Then let's not count in luck, let's find the resistance group and fight with the Dark Masters to prevent any more deaths!" Tai said.

"But if we keep fighting then more Digimon are going to die!" Mimi exclamation. "I don't want that!"

Killua sighed. "I'm going to be the asshole I know I am –And yes, I just swore in front of the two kids, kill me later," He said to Matt and Tai. "But, Mimi, sadly death is something inevitable we can't escape. So you'll have to suck it up."

Killua's declaration caused everyonoe to look at him. Mimi giving him an offended look. He sighed and elaborated.

"In this battle, as much as we hate it, someone is going to die. Be it ally or enemy. Be it thay we fight or not. I get it that none of us asked for this, but now we don't have much of a chance. We can't just drop the towel because we don't want to see death. It will be like standing up and pissing on these tombs," he jerked the thumb to the sand tombs.

Matt didn't seemed to agree. "You can't just tell us to suck it up and do something we don't want to!"

Killua gave him a side-glance. "I can. I know I'm injuring her feelings by saying this, but tell me what's best: Staying here complaining or get up and fight?"

"But by saying this things you are basically giving her an ultimatum!" Matt continued to protest.

Killua sighed. "Like I said, I'm being an asshole by basically telling you all to stop whining and continue with this, and I'm sorry." He looked at Mimi, who seemed upset due to the discussion. "But think about it this way, if it makes you feel better: If you fight, less Digimon will get injured or kill. That's what you want, right?"

Mimi was quiet for a moment and nodded. "I guess..."

"Then there you have it," Killua said getting up and turning to face Matt. "Again, sorry for being an asshole – And for swearing in front of Kari and T.K. You two never repeat that word," He told the younger Digidestined. "But that's just the way things are."

Matt clenched his fists. "But why are they like it..." He murmured.

T.K looked at his brother with worry. "Matt..."

Mimi sighed. "Matt, it's fine... At least we managed to stop MetalSeadramon without anyone dying... Same with Myotismon." She turned to Killua. "And don't worry about being an asshole, you've always been one."

Killua narrowed his eyes in annoyance. "Well hey now-"

"She's right!" The whole group exclaimed, even the kids and Chuumon – Who was the newest addition.

"Screw you! All of you, idiots!" Killua said, red-faced.

Everyone laughed at the boy's shame, even Matt feeling his previous anger subside. The horrible mood of the previous discussion being lifted.

"Now then. Are we all ready to continue?" Tai asked.

He received nods of confirmation from the group and they were all ready to enter the forest, again.

The forest in itself was a little creepy. The trees were twisted and with a slight purple coloration.

"Creepy as heck," Gomamon commented.

Killua stared at the environment with a watchful eye. 'The enemy must be using some way to keep an eye on us... We can't let our guard down for evem a moment.' He thought with a scowl. He decided lo lag behind them to watch the rear guard.

While they had a chance to sort out their ideas during the time after beating MetalSeadramon, it has been one thing after the other.

First Scorpiomon's trap. Even though it didn't worked thanks to Killua, doesn't take away the fact that something it happened and if they were desperate they could've falled in it.

Then MetalSeadramon's chasing. It was a nerve wrecking persecution. Thank God Whamon was there to protect them from the Scubamon's attacks. It was a good thing they were able to deal with him first than any other of the Dark Masters, the ocean was the only place where none of them had an edge, except for Zudomon but he was just an Ultra while MetalSeadramon was a Mega that could also fly as fast as it could swim.

Now their next opponent was Puppetmon, according to what Whamon said, this was his territory, then it was Machinedramon, Killua saw him as the less threatening of the four, but appearence can be deceiving and he wasn't a Dark Master for nothing after all.

Once they beat him and get through the forest they'll reach the desert area where the resistance was, according to Whamon, once again. If their members were Digimon they were familiar with like Whamon and Piximon then they would gain some more fire power to win. But then again, the Dark Masters also had allies like the Scubamon. Killua highly doubted that those Digimon were the only ones loyal to them.

'Shit,' He thought. 'This is getting too complicated.' He looked at his friends, all walking in front of him. 'Maybe I'm overthinking things...'

He had to keep appearances now. After telling everyone to keep on going forward he couldn't just show his own fear about this situation, he would be a hypocrite and the group could lose some morale.

He stopped when he walked pass one of them. He turned and watched as Kari stayed in place for a moment. "Hey, what's wrong?"

The girl was looking around, with a confused look. "I thought I heard something."

Killua arched an eyebrow. "I didn't heard anything."

Gatomon and Wizardmon walked up to them. "What's the hold up?" Wizardmon asked.

"I thought I heard something," Kari repeated, a confused scowl on her small face, almost like a pout.

Gatomon's ears twitched. "I didn't heard anything."

"Me neither," The wizard said.

Kari frowned as her confusion growed. Killua patted her head. "Maybe it was something in the wind," He told her in an attempt to reassure her. "Let's go, the others are waiting."

Kari nodded, the frown on her face mostly vanishing.

They got near the group. Tai gave them a questioning look. "Where've you been?"

"Sorry," Killua said lifting his hand in an apologetic manner. "I thought I heard something so Kari and the others stayed behind to check on me." He lied.

The girl looked up at Killua and saw as he subtlety winked at her. He lied knowing that Tai would most likely scold her. She smiled gratefully.

Tai seemed to buy it but scowled nonetheless. "Dont zone off like that, man! We're in enemy territory."

Killua just nodded. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that."

On the bushes, a camera watched them and transmitted the image in to its owner.

"I want them to arrive already!" Puppetmon whined in the main room of his mansion. "Why are they taking so long?!"

A Digimon with the form of a bird without wings and wearing a mask spoke from behind him. "Because they're dumb kids, master Puppetmon."

"I know that, Kiwimon!" Puppetmon snapped. "But let's hurry it up!"

He took our a remote and pushed a button.

The walk across the forest continued without interruptions. The the group as a whole noticed something.

"Are the trees moving faster?" Kari asked.

Killua noticed it too and looked around, then at his feet. He gasped. "No, they're not! We are!"

Everyone turned to him and looked at the floor to see the floor moving faster, like a conveyor belt.

"What's going on?!" Matt exclaimed.

Puppetmon clapped happily. "Hooray! Now they'll get here faster so we can play!" He made a small dance in happiness.

He turned and bolted towards a treasure chest. "We'll all play something fun!" He started throwing toy after toy out of the chest looking for something in specific. "Oh where did I put it?!"

Kiwimon just started with a sweatdrop as his leader continued to throw toys out of the wood chest until he finally let out an excited exclamation.

"My magnum!" Puppetmon took out a gun out, a real gun. "My magnum 44, and with the right type of bullet," He put a bullet on the gun's barrel. "Their stomachs will explode from the inside out!"

He took aim to one of the walls and shoot at it. The wall explode, leaving a hole the size of a basketball in it.

Puppetmon laughed. "They're gonna love this game!"

Kiwimon shook his head at the puppet's weird way of thinking.

"Everyone jumped to the side!" Killua said, jumping out of the conveyor belt

All of them did so, just for the section where they landed to start acting the same way. "This one moves as well!" Izzy gasped.

Sora looked forward, with fear clear on her face. "I don't like this, where are we heading?"

"It's safe to assume this is the enemies doing!" Matt said. "They want us to get to them soon to fight us!" He clenched his fists in frustration.

Joe bit his nails nervously. "What can we do?"

Chuumon shivered in Mimi's arms. "Another one already?! You guys hardly beat MetalSeadramon!"

Mimi looked at him. "Chuumon, come on, try to be positive!"

Killua took a deep breath to calm his own nerves. Koromon and Tsunomon didn't seemed ready to go to Mega again. And he wasn't sure he could beat the puppet.

"You can't. The Megas are out of your reach."

He ignored that voice and the headache.

Wizardmon looked around and noticed something. "Everyone, I have an idea to get some time!"

They looked at the wizard and listened to what he hao to say.

Puppetmon got toy after toy out of the box. He pouted and used a retractable hand to grab Kiwimon's head. "They're taking too long! I already took out all of my toys so we could play~" He whined.

Kiwimon was uncomfortable with his situation. "Master the..." He let out a sigh. "The Digidestined are not in the camera anymore..."

"What?!" Puppetmon let him go and started changing channels. He was flabbergasted, there were no signs of the Digidestined or the anomaly everywhere. "W-we're did they go?"

The group managed to avoid the moving floor by getting above it. Floating above the air, thanks to Wizardmon's bubble.

"This technique is pretty useful," Killua said, looking at the transparent sphere.

The wizard kept total concentration, keeping his eyes closed and his hand pressed in the floor of the barrier.

"It's better if you land us in some trees, Wizardmon," Gatomon said, looking worried for her friend.

The wizard nodded and lowered them to a group of trees. He panted heavily. "Sorry. I can't hold that spell for long."

"Don't kick yourself over that," Killua said. "At least we got out of that floor."

Sora frowned. "The fact that a trap like that triggered means the enemy knows we're here?"

"It's possible," Killua said, scowling. "And that means we're being watched, no doubt."

Joe sighed and leaned on the tree. "So they were taking us straight to them, huh?"

"I say we go! We'll have to face them anyway at some point!" Tai said, fist clenched.

Killua rolled his eyes. "Right, because Koromon and Tsunomon evolved and we suddenly know all of their weaknesses." He replied, voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I agree with Killua," Matt said. "We know we have to face them, but we aren't in conditions right now. And you don't have to remind us about it every five minutes!" He said, frustration leaking through his voice.

T.K grabbed his arms. "Matt, calm down. We shouldn't fight against each other."

Matt's eyes softened. "T.K..."

Tai wasn't done. "But hiding is just as bad! They'll find us eventually."

"Can't you have some patience?!" Matt said, anger rising again.

"Matt!" T.K pleaded.

"Stop, both of you!" Killua scolded. "Fighting or not our situation is hard! And just starting to fight each other is going to make it worse, idiots!"

They lowered their heads at the scolding their friend gave them. They were about to say something when, suddenly, Killua vanished.

Everyone gasped. "Killua!"

Then Mimi did so.

"Mimi!" Palmon called out.

"Where did she go?!" Chuumon cried in fear.

Then Tai. "Brother!" Kari exclaimed.

"What's happening?!" Joe panicked.

Then he vanished, with Kari. Then Sora and Izzy. Leaving the Digimon and the brothers in the trees.

Wizardmon held his staff. "This must be the enemy's doing!"

Gatomon got on guard. "Killua was right, the enemy is watching!"

Matt scowled. "Dang it, they want to separate us to beat us easily."

T.K looked at his brother. "Matt..."

Matt turned to him. "T.K, don't worry. I won't let anything bad happen to you."

Contrary to what he expected, T.K gave him a frown. "Matt... You always say that, almost like you thing that I'm helpless without you."

Matt recoiled. "E-eh?"

"We made it here together, all of us. And I have give everything I have to help. So... Why do you think that I need your help? Do you... See me as someone useless?" T.K had a sad look at those thoughts.

"No! T.K that's not it!" Matt protested.

"Then why?" T.K asked, almost pleading.

Matt looked away, conflict clear in his eyes. 'Because I... I...' He couldn't bring himself to said it. To tell him the reason to why he still felt that he needed to protect him.

And that frustrated him to no end.

Killua reappeared in a clearing. He blinked rapidly. "What just happened?" Mimi appeared a few moments later. "Mimi?"

"Killua?" The girl looked around. "What happened?"

Killua sharpened his claws and stood in front of the girl. "I don't know, but stay behind me, this is Puppetmon's doing."

The girl nodded and kept a careful eye as she stayed behind Killua.

Then he vanished and Joe appeared. "Wha-"

"Joe?!" Mimi exclaimed.

What was happening?!

Killua blinked again, feeling his shoes and pants getting dirty as he reappeared on a pond of mud. "Wha-"

"Killua?!" He turned to see Kari.

"Kari?" He clicked his tongue as he got out of the pond. "The enemy moved us again."

Kari looked around, hands clasped together over her chest in fear. "T-they're watching us?"

Killua's eyes softened seeing her stance, but couldn't help being honest. "It's possible."

Kari shivered at the thought and wrapped her arms around herself.

Killua sighed and decided to try to be optimistic for once. He smiled. "It's going to be okay, got it?" He put a hand on her heas. "We'll find a way to reunite with the others and get out of here."

Kari nodded, her hands dropping to her sides. "Okay," She said, feeling a little better.

Killua nodded and looked around with an open eye. Trying to see the means by which the enemy was watching them.

Puppetmon chuckled as he put the toy of the Child of Courage in the Child of Knowledge's place.

"Now then, what should I do?" He asked himself. "Maybe... Shoot them?!" He got his magnum out and pointed at Tai's figure.

"Then you'll be left without partners to play," Kiwimon reminded.

"Oh right," He said. "But I'll shoot with something else!" He got out a slingshot with a metal pebble in it. "Well now... Let's see if you can stand this... Anomaly!"

He shot the metalic sphere at the toy that represents Killua.

Killua felt a sharp pain on his stomach, forcing him to double over and gasp for air. "Agh!"

"Killua!" Kari placed a hand on his back. "Are you okay?"

"Y-yeah..." He said, straightening himself. "But... It felt like someone hit me in the stomach!"

Kari gasped at the revelation, while Killua cursed the enemy's ability to attack them from afar.

Then he vanished again, Tai appearing in his place.

"Brother!" Kari gasped at seeing Tai.

"Kari?" Tai turned to see his sister.

But then Kari vanished and Sora appeared.

"Again?!" Tai exclaimed.

Killua appeared with Mimi and Joe. "Guys?"

"Killua what's-" Joe was replaced by Matt, before he could say anything else.

"What? T.K?!" Matt asked looking around.

Killua groaned. "The enemy is just messing with us!"

Mimi was changed and replaced with Izzy. "Again? Where are we?"

"I don't know anymore!" Killua said, throwing his arms in the air.

Then Matt and him vanished.

Back at the trees, Mimi and Izzy were teleported there by the enemy.

The Digimon were all confused. "What's happening?!" Gabumon asked with frustration.

"There's no point in staying here," Wizardmon said. "Let's go look for the others!"

Patamon started flapping. "I'll look out for T.K!"

Mimi sighed. "We better stay here, the enemy will just swap us out of place if we go anyway."

"If you stay, I stay!" Palmon said.

"Me too!" Tentomon said, flying next to Izzy.

"Then we'll go find the others!" Koromon declared.

They all jumped off the tree to find the others.

They reappeared in another part of the forest. "This is getting old..." Killua grumbled.

"Matt, Killua?" T.K's voice asked.

The two boys turned and Matt hugged his brother. "What a relief, T.K!"

Killua just sighed. "At this rate, the enemy could easily beat us all. And we can't even find him, but they can find us!"

This whole situation was getting on Killua's nerves.

"What do we do now?" T.K asked.

"Honestly, I hate to admit that we are at the enemy's mercy," Killua said with frustration.

"So are you suggesting we give up?" Matt asked.

"That's not it!" Killua said, turning to face them. "But tell me, without your partners and no control of where to be what can we do?!"

Matt went quiet and just stared at the ground.

Puppetmon looked at the T.V. "Okay! Time to bring one of them here!"

He surfed through the channels until he spot the one with T.K, Matt and Killua.

"Oh! The anomaly is there! " He scowled. "But the previous one wasn't funny!" He noticed T.K on the T.V. "Hmmm that one looks perfect!"

"Do you want me to get him?" Kiwimon asked.

"Nah! I'll go for him!" He sais with a smile and turned around to slid down from a metal pole that led to the lower floor.

He got out of the house feeling excited. "Finally a new friend~"

Matt decided to check on his brother. "Nothing happened to you right?"

"For a moment I thought someone was tickling me, think I'm going crazy?" The kid asked.

Killua's eyes widened. "Something similar happened to me, but I felt someone punched me in the gut."

"What?!" Matt's eyes widened, but it wasn't for worry for his friend but towards T.K. "T.K, are you sure you are okay?!"

"How can you ask that when Killua just said he was injured?!" T.K asked. "I'm old enough to look out for my self. You don't have to focus all your worry on me! I'm not a baby anymore!"

Matt looked away. "T.K... I..."

Killua interfered. "T.K, Matt is only doing his job. He is your older brother after all."

T.K looked down. "But I..."

Matt stared at Killua with a grateful look for finally putting his feelings in words, when he struggled so much.

But before they could say something else they heard a childish voice.

"Let's play~"They gasped and put themselves in the defensive. Their eyes darting across the forest.

"Let's play~""Where is he?!" Killua growled.

"T.K, be on your guard," Matt said.

"His voice comes from everywhere," T.K said, fear on his voice. He felt a pair of hands clamp over his eyes. "What?!"

The hands let go when he turned. Puppetmon backflipped and stood in front of the trio. "Let's play!"

Killua stood in front if the two brothers. "It's you!"

"If you get close to T.K again, I'll make you regret it!" Matt said.

"So his name is T.K, huh," Puppetmon said. "Hey, little guy, wanna play?"

"Play?" T.K asked, standing out of his hiding spot.

"Yup! Let's play war!" Puppetmon said and producing a machine gun. "Here!" He throw it at him.

But before it could get anywhere close to the kid, Killua caught it and inspect it. "Hmmm... Wow, this is high quality, but it's also real and you almost gave it to an eight year old."

To prove his point, Killua took out the casket and disarmed the gun with ease.

Puppetmon let out and indignant shout. "Hey!"

"That thing was real?!" Matt panicked. "T.K stay away from that creep!"

"Ugh! All of you shut up!" Puppetmon launched two red balls at them.

Killua dodged the one aimes at him, while Matt wasn't so lucky and got trapped in a red web. "Matt!"

"What is this?!" Matt struggled to get free, but end up falling down.

"Matt!" T.K was at his side while Killua kept his guard up.

Puppetmon turned to T.K. "C'mon, let's play! I won't let any of my guns kill you too soon. It would be boring otherwise!"

T.K took a step back and Killua glared at it. "A game?" He demanded to know.

"Of course!" Puppetmon said, while doing a small dance. "I want a little friend to play with~"

Killua felt sweat falling down his forehead. This guy wanted to take T.K just to play with real guns? It was sick and childish. Puppetmon seemed to be nothing more than an overpowered kid if this attitude waa anything to go by.

A spark of idea came to him... A very bad idea.

"Pfff, why take a brat when you can take someone who knows his way around guns?" Killua asked, scoffing at T.K.

Everyone looked at him questionably. "Huh?!"

"I mean, he can't even carry a gun!" Sweat was falling out his brow at the nerves that were eating him. He could at least act and try to keep his attention out of the two brothers. "But I on the other hand know all about guns, so... Can I play?" He asked with a crooked smile.

Puppetmon blinked and then let out a laugh. "HAHAHAHAHA! Wow! You are funnier than the last anomaly!" He said, tears of laughter falling from his eyes. "Okay! Come on and let's play!"

Killua gulped and started following the puppet.

"Killua don't!" T.K said, getting up. "You can't go with him!"

"He isn't to be trusted!" Matt agreed, struggling against his bonds even further to try and do something against their new opponent.

"Shut up!" Puppetmon launched another red ball that wrapped around Matt's mouth, gagging him.

"MMPH!" Matt struggled even more now that a new layer was added on his face.

"Matt!" T.K tried to take the red out of him.

"Now, let's go!" Puppetmon said, cheering to himself.

Killua gave the two brothers a last glance and he lifted a thumb. "It's okay guys..." He said, leaving with the Dark Master.

Matt's eyes made contact with Killua and in that moment he saw something he never saw on the white haired boy's face: Fear. He was scared yet he still decided to go with Puppetmon for their sake. Heck even his thumbs up was shaking at the nerves that were consuming him at that moment.

He growled in frustration and thrashed even further against his bonds to try and break free from them, to no avail.

T.K fought back tears as he tried to take the bonds out of his brother. "We have to find the others and save Killua!" He said, struggling to get the red substance out off Matt.

Matt nodded, even though he didn't wanted to endanger T.K, leaving Killua would be like betraying him. And after all he did for them, that wasn't an option.

Puppetmon led Killua to a big mantion hidden deep in the forest. Killua entered following the puppet. And to drown his nerves, and try to keep his enemy in a good mood, he made a comment to compliment him. "Nice place."

"Thanks!" Puppetmon said as he closed the door. "Now we can start playing!" He took aim at Killua. "I found the enemy spy!"

Killua flinched seeing the gun. "Woah! Wait! Are you going to leave me without a weapon? That's unfair!" He racked his brain to find a way to convince the Dark Master to give him a way to defend himself. "Ummm or else the game will be unfair!"

Puppetmon lowered his gun and blinked. "Good point!" He produced a gun from behind him—Killua didn't make questions about that part—and handed it to him. "Here!"

Killua caught it and checked it up. It was a magnum just like Puppetmon's. A basic weapon, but an effective one at short distance.

Before he could act, Puppetmon spoke. "Forget about spies. Let's play the old west! Take 10 steps forward, with your back at me, and then we shoot!"

Killua didn't complained for two things at the idea: First he didn't wanted the childish Digimon to lose his temper and shot at him before he had a chance to react. And second he trusted his instincts and reflexes well enough to shot first, he only needed to be ready even before he gave the first step.

'I don't know how much damage will the bullet do, but it should be enough to stun him at least,' He thought.

They turned their backs at each other, keeping their guns up. They started walking forward in their respective directions without saying anything.

Once they reached the tenth step they turned and pointed at their opponent.

Killua was faster and pulled the trigger... Only for the barrel to click, empty.

He paled. 'Fuck! Why didn't I thought about this!'He looked forward to see Puppetmon pulling the trigger... But.

"Bang!" The puppet mimicked the sound of a gunshot. "I got you! Now you are injured in the arm."

... Killua blinked. Not sure how to react.

"So? What are you waiting for?" Puppetmon asked. "Run! Run! Before I catch you to kill you!"

He didn't need to be told twice. Discarding the useless gun, Killua bolted out of the house's entrance and towards a narrow hallway at the stairs' side.

He opened a door that lead to some sort of library. He soon noticed he wasn't alone in the room.

"Uh?" A Digimon looking like a mushroom turned to face him.

"Puppetmon's new toy? When did he arrived, Mushroomon?" One that looked like a mutant sunflower mused.

"I think he just got here, Blossomon," Mushroomon said.

"You, keep quiet about me being here!" Killua hissed and hid himself in between some bookshelves.

Puppetmon barged into the room. He looked at the two Digimon in the room. "Hey fellas, did ya see a kid with white hair entering?" He asked with an excited tone.

The two plant Digimon turned to the bookshelves. "Over there."

Killua cursed and did a big jump to land on the top of one bookshelf and scurry his way out of the room.

Puppetmon looked between the bookshelves and frowned. "Liars! He isn't here!"

The two looked at the space between the shelves. "No way!" Mushroomon said.

"It was there!" Blossomon exclaimed.

Killua landed behind the open door, using Zetsu to hide his presence.

Puppetmon for his part looked livid. "Stop lying!" He shot at the two, killing them instantly.

Killua's eyes narrowed in anger at the cold-hearted act, and at his own powerlessness to act. He ran out of the room, slamming the door as he did so.

Puppetmon noticed and smiled. "Oh there you are!" He said with a happy smile as he gave chase to him.

Killua ran upstairs to the second floor to find a nice plays to hide or to find a new weapon, loaded this time, to blow the puppet a new hole in his body.

He entered a colorful room full of toys, with a tv and some kind of boardgame with a forest as the scenario, and most importantly, figures of him and the Digidestined.

"What the..." He turned to see the tv and started changing channels to see that it was a monitor. "So this is how he knew where we were... And he used the toys to change us out of place!"

Killua grabbed a remote that was on the floor and pressed a button, the floor started moving and the roads started moving towards the same place.

Killua smiled seeing how his friends were about to reunite, but then the handle of the door started moving. He dropped the control and looked around. He cursed once he noticed there wasn't any other way out.

He was trapped.

He bolted to the box in the room and started looking for something useful. "C'mon, c'mon!"

He got something out and smirked, just as the door opened.

From different parts of the forest, the Digidestined all started moving. Or rather, the roads where they were.

They all reached a single clearing in the center of the area. Tai looked around. "Is everyone okay?" His eyes settled on Matt. "Matt?!"

"Mmmph!" The boy continued to struggle on his restraining.

"Help, please!" T.K begged, tugging on his brother's bonds.

"Guys!" The Digimon all surged from different parts of the forest to reunite with their human counterparts.

Tsunomon and Patamon looked their partners' state. "Matt!" Tsunomon exclaimed. Matt's Digivice started shining.

"Tsunomon Digivolves to... Gabumon!"Gabumon raised the claws on his fur and shredded the ribbons tying his partner.

Matt gasped for fresh hair and sat up. "Thanks, Gabumon."

"What happened?" Tai asked.

"It's Killua!" T.K exclaimed. "Puppetmon took him!"

"WHAT?!" It was the obvious response of the group at the news.

"Puppetmon wanted to take T.K and Killua conviced him to take him instead!" Matt punched the ground in frustration. "And I couldn't even do a thing!"

"Don't lose your head over this," Tai said. "We are all together now, we just have to find the way to where Puppetmon is."

"The first road that started moving might be the right place to start," Izzy said.

"Then let's find that road!" Koromon said.

The group nodded and were ready to move, when four figures leaped out from the trees and landed in front of them.

"Not so fast!" Kiwimon declared as he stood in front of them. "Master Puppetmon is having a playtime session with his new friend, I won't let you interrupt him." He declared. "And that's why I brought the Garbagemon squad with me!"

The other three Digimon all looked the same. Pink Digimon wearing trash cans and bazookas. It was without a doubt the most bizarre Digimon they've seen to this point.

Kiwimon opened his mouth. "Kiwibombs!" Small bombs with the form of his head were launched out of his mouth.

Wizardmon merely raised his staff, "Magic Lighting," and fried them away with a single spell.

Kiwimon face-faulted. "Umm..."

"The Garbagemon are Ultra levels," Izzy said looking at Tai and Matt. "You can deal with them."

Tai nodded, a serious scowl on his face. "We're going to make them tell us where Killua is!"

"Tai... Leave it to me," Matt said, surprising everyone. "Killua got taken right under my nose! To protect me and T.K... I'm going to make them tell us where he is so we can save him!" He turned to Tai. "And besides Koromon still needs to rest," He said with a smile.

Tai was taken back. "Matt..."

T.K gripped his Digivice. "Me too! I'll fight too to save him," He turned to his brother. "I wanna save Killua too! So let's fight together!"

Matt looked down at him with a conflict of emotions. He wished he would stay behind so he'll be safe... But that would make him feel bad, he already expressed how he felt about him always being protected.

He swallowed nerves and nodded. "O-okay."

T.K smiled and turned to Patamon. "Ready?"

"Yup!" The flying Digimon said.

"Gabumon Warp Digivolves to... ZeedGarurumon!"

"Patamon Digivolves to... Angemon!"

Both angel and wolf stood in front of the group, ready to face the Digimon that were blocking their way and that had information on their friend.

A Garbagemon readied his bazooka. "Garbage Launcher!" He shot his ammunition... Which was a piece of shit...

Angemon merely raised his fist, that was shining with an orange glow around it. "Hand of Fate!"

The attack was vaporized without effort.

The four enemies looked around nervously. "Ummm we still have the number advantage, so we're good right?" One of the Garbagemon asked.

They all knew they didn't stood a chance.

Puppetmon barged in the room with gun in hand, startling Killua as he hid something behind his back. "Aha! Found you!" He said and started shooting.

Either his aim was bad or he was taunting Killua, because he only hit the floor boards. Killua jumped back to avoid splinters but ended up backing up against a wall.

Puppetmon laughed and pressed the trigger only for the barrel to click. "Huh? Oh, man I'm out of ammo..." He started rummaging through his pockets. "I think I have some of it here..."

'Now or never!' Killua said. "Meh, I'm bored~"

Puppetmon stopped and looked at him. "E-eh?"

"I said I'm bored," Killua said. "You bore me."

Puppetmon sputtered. "W-w-w-what? But... But no one gets bored with my games!" He looked upset, but not angry—more like confused.

"They were probably too scared to tell you," Killua said with an arrogant look. Inwardly, he was making sure to pick his words carefully to not upset the Dark Master. "I want to play something else!" He whined like a little child.

Puppetmon blinked, looking completly lost at the situation. "Emmm... What do you want to play?"

Killua grinned inwardly. 'Got you.' He produced something from his back. "Tag. With theses! Electroshock collars!"

Killua find these objects on the toy box. No doubt part of Puppetmon's deadly toys. And he also found a remote that activates them that he kept on his pocket.

"Oh!" Puppetmon dropped his gun. "Those are my favorites! Well, second favorite, my magnum is still the best..." He then looked at Killua with crossed arms. "But why shouldn't I just put them in you a have you as my mascot? That way we can play mascot and owner!" He said with excitement.

Killua inwardly shivered at the thought, but kept a brave face outwards. He pouted and hid the collars again. "Then go play with other friends then!"

Puppetmon flinched. "O-other friends...?"

That gave Killua a pause. "You do have other friends, right?"

Puppetmon looked uncomfortable. "Well ah... Th-The other Dark Masters... count?" He asked fiddling with his thumbs.

"I don't think so," Killua pushed his luck a bit. "They don't play with you, right?"

Puppetmon slumped. "No they don't, they're always mean and serious! MetalSeadramon was cranky all the time! Machinedramon barely talks! And Piedmon throws swords at me when I invited him to play! They get in my nerves!" He said, frustration clear in his voice.

Killua watched the puppet and a feeling surged in him, a feeling he felt repulsed for having for someone like him; someone whose mission was to make their lives impossible, and/or finishing them.

Killua sympathize with him. Because he understood that feeling of being frustrated with people supposedly close to you. Like the Zoldycks decided everything for him, the Dark Masters ignored Puppetmon's likes.

He quickly squashed the feeling and buried it in the depths of his mind. 'This guy and I are not the same!' He scoffed in his mind.

He sighed and continued with his plan. "So in summation you don't have anyone else to play?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow.

Puppetmon raised a finger to protest but nothing came out of his mouth. "No..." He said, dejected.

Killua smiled like a cat. "Then let's play!" He said tossing him a collar. "It's a hunting game! The first one to put the other a collar wins!" He raised a finger. "Aaaaand the loser will be the winner's slave! Meaning they'll have to do whatever they want! So if you win I'll play with you forever!"

Puppetmon blinked. "Forever?" He raised his arms and started cheering. "HOORAY! LET'S PLAY! LET'S PLAY!"

Inwardly, Killua gulped. This was a pretty crazy gambit. If he loses then he'll become a slave to this crazy Digimon. But if he wins, then they'll have a Dark Master under their control. That would be three Megas against two.

Although he had doubts about how the resistance members, and to his friends, would react. He will have to explain everything and show that he had control over the situation.

"Ready?" He asked. "Set?" He walked to the door, Puppetmon looked lost in his own world at the prospect of having a slave, toy, friend or whatever... Freaking psycho. "GO!"

Killua bolted out of the room and jumped over the railing to the first floor. He ran to the back part of the house, to the room where those two Digimon were killed.

He activates Zetsu and hid himself behind the same shelves. Either Puppetmon comes looking for him again and he has a better chance to escape and trick him to put the collar on him, or he doesn't and that gives Killua a chance to scurry around the house in silence.

It seems to be the former. The puppet barged into the room, twirling the collar on his index finger. "Anomaly~ Where are you?"

Killua rolled his eyes and walked out of the shelves, while using his Echo Rhythm and creating illusions of himself.

"Huh?!" Puppetmon's jaw dropped at seeing the clones. "Grrrr I'm going to get you!" He launched himself at one Killua to snap the collar on his neck but it disappeared. "Huh?!"

Killua took his chance and launched himself at Puppetmon with the collar. But the puppet reacted in time and dodged.

Killua cursed and leaped back to gain distance and got out of the room. Puppetmon pursuing him. "Get back here!"

Killua was surprisingly faster than the mega and managed to enter another room. This one was full of childish toys such as a toy train, wodden horses, and balls for different games, it even had small robots that fought each other, and a mountain of silly plushies that Killua would expect Mimi to have.

He smiled and dived in the mountain of plushies and hid himself amongst them. He kept his breath steady and waited for Puppetmon to enter the room.

No sooner than he did his camouflage with the stuffed toys, the puppet entered the room. He looked around with a confused look. "I could have sworn he entered this place..."

Killua's eyes flashed and he jumped out of the mountain. Getting on Puppetmon's back. "Gotcha!"

"Wh- Hey! Get down!" Puppetmon said. And tried to get him out.

Killua struggled to stay in place against the Dark Master's trashing around. He gritted his teeth and the collar on his hand. "I..." He brought the collar down and it snapped close on the Dark Master's neck. "WIN!"

Puppetmon stopped moving and Killua felt down. With his guard up, he waited for the puppet to go into a childish rage and throw a tantrum. He was surprised when Puppetmon just pouted and let out a sigh. "Oh man! I lost!"

Killua looked at him, not lowering his guard. "So...?"

"So, now I'm your slave..." He grumbled.

Killua blinked at the statement. "Really?"

Puppetmon grumbled angrily and nodded. "Yeah."

Killua could hardly believe it. He thought that Puppetmon would try to attack him the moment he could and that Killua would have to subdue him with electric discharges. Brutal? Yes. Did Killua had the stomach and determination to do it? Also yes Would he regret it? Fuck no—Served the puppet right. But for him to just give up so easily? It left Killua bewildered.

"Okay then... Now that you're my slave, my first order it's for you to join us in defeating the remaining Dark Masters!" Killua declared, recovering for the surprise.

Puppetmon actually grinned. "Cool! I can finally give those jerks a piece of my mind!"

"And then," Killua continued. "You will have to put everything in the forest back in place!"

Killua didn't knew if he could do that. Worst comes to worst and he can't they'll have to get rid of him the old fashioned way.

Puppetmon looked upset. "What? But what about my house and toys?!"

Killua shrugged. "You can have them when the Digital World goes back to normal."

Puppetmon grumbled. "I don't wanna!" He whined.

Killua took out the remote and pressed the button, giving him a level one discharge. The strength of the discharge could go from one to ten.

Puppetmon yelped and give a small jump as he felt the discharge. "Wah! Okay okay!" He conceded. "I'll put them back in place..." He said with a sigh.

Killua smirked. "Okay then. Now, let's get back with the other Digidestined. I had enough fun for today."

Puppetmon perked up. "You had fun?!" He asked with a glimmer in his eyes, despite being sad a moment ago.

Killua rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I guess."

Puppetmon gave a happy jump in the air. "YIPPEE!"

Killua sweatdropped. 'And somehow this guy is one of the most terrible threats to the Digital World...'

"Where is he?!" Matt demanded to know at their captives.

The fight, as one might have guessed, didn't lasted long.

The Garbagemon the moment they saw the Mega and the most powerful champion, all tried to use their trash cans as some sort of vacuum to absorb them all. Only for ZeedGarurumon to use his Full Metal Breath to freeze them and destroying them.

Once defenseless, since Kiwimon could barely do anything against a Champion and a Mega, Palmon used her Poison Ivy to tie them up and interrogated them on the location of their enemy and friend, while Angemon and ZeedGarurumon regressed to their Rookie form.

"We won't tell you shit!" One of the Garbagemon said. "If we do, Master Puppetmon will destroy us!"

"Not if we deal with him first!" Tai said. "So tell us where they are!"

"Never!" The four captives said.

T.K tugged his brother's shirt. "Matt, better to leave them here. Let's look for Killua on our own."

Matt looked down at his brother and nodded. "Guess your right..."

"That won't be necessary."

They all turned to see Killua coming out of the forest, completely unharmed.

The captives' jaws dropped, while the Digidestined looked completly happy.

T.K ran and tackled the boy into a hug. "Killua!"

"Oof! Hey pal," Killua patted the boy's head with a smile.

Matt was at his side. "Are you okay? How did you escaped?"

"What about Puppetmon?" Kari asked as he joined in the worry train.

Killua smiled nervously. "Ammm... About that."

From the forest the puppet appeared. "What's the hold up? Introduce me already!"

Everyone was on high alert, all the Digidestined with their Digivices out and the partners ready to act.

Heck, Koromon jumped out of Tai's arms and evolved.

"Koromon Digivolves to... Agumon!"

The captives looked joyful. "MASTER PUPPETMON!"

"What is he doing here?!"

"Did he followed!?

"Killua get away from him!"

"Agumon, are you ready?!"

"Yeah!"

"Gabumon?"

"I think I can... One more time!"

Shouts started to erupt from the group at seeing the Dark Master accompanying their friend. Most of them scared and some of them angry, ready to attack.

Kari stepped back in fear at seeing the evil Digimon. Gatomon standing protectively in front of her.

But then he heard a voice. A soft voice calling out to her. Kari looked at the forest and started walking into it, feeling a soothing presence in it.

Gatomon noticed. "Kari?" She followed the girl, leaving the group behind.

"Gatomon?" Wizardmon went behind her and the two followed the girl, without the group noticing. "What is it?"

"I don't know, Kari just ran off," Gatomon answered and the three disappeared into the forest.

Killua took a deep breath, in the midst of the chaod. "EVERYONE CALM DOWN!"

The whole clearing fell silent at Killua's yelling.

The boy cleared his throat. "I defeated Puppetmon in a game of tag and now he is my personal slave."

"WHAT?!" Obvious response is obvious.

"Master Puppetmon is no one's slave!" Kiwimon exclaimed.

"He is," Killua pointed to the collar. "I snapped an electroshock collar on his neck. If he steps out of line: Zap."

Chuumon's jaw dropped. "Y-y-you... Slaved a Dark Master..." The poor mouse fainted, foam on his mouth.

"Chuumon! Hang in there!" Mimi said in concern.

"So now he'll help us beat the other two Dark Masters," Killua finished.

"I'll give those two a piece of my mind!" Puppetmon said, lifting his hammer in the air.

Tai and Matt didn't seemed pleased. "Are you crazy, he is the enemy!" Tai exclaimed.

"What if he betrays us!" Matt said.

Killua showed the control. "I already said it! I'll shock him!"

Puppetmon grinned and moved between Matt and Tai, putting his arms around their shoulders and grabbing them in deadly chokeholds. "Don't worry fellas! I'll give my one hundred percent to help you!"

Matt and Tai started gasping for air.

"Matt!" T.K and Gabumon said in worry.

"Tai!" Agumon did the same for the goggle weariness boy.

Killua upped the level to two and pressed the button.

Puppetmon shrieked and let the boys go. Twitching in pain of the discharge going through his neck.

"Puppetmon, don't get too familiar with them, and mind your strength!" Killua scolded and releasing the button.

Puppetmon fell on his back, smoke sizzling out of him. "A-aye..."

"See?" He questioned the others and shook the control on his hand. "I'm in control."

"Still you should have told us first," Joe said.

"How? I was in his house the whole time!" The boy questioned.

"And are you sure this is a good idea? He could inform the Dark Masters about his situation," Izzy said.

"I'll keep an eye on him," Killua said. "Heck there's nineteen pair of eyes here to keep an eye on him! And having another Mega in the team will be good."

"And the other two jerks never check on me anyway," Puppetmon said getting up. "Saying something about me being annoying or so..." He said scratching his chin.

"Can't imagine why..." Palmon muttered.

"And what about the resistance?" Sora asked. "I don't think they'll accept a Dark Master with us."

"That's the only part I'm still worrying about..." Killua said. "But see it from an strategic standpoint! He can tell us everything about the other Dark Masters."

"Master Puppetmon don't!" Kiwimon said.

"I will, I don't wanna get shocked," Puppetmon said causing Kiwimon to face-fault.

The others still didn't seemes convinced. "Are you sure that we can keep him close?" Sora asked with caution.

"I'm right here, ya know?!" Puppetmon snapped.

"Puppetmon, if you try something you do know we have two Megas while you are only one, right?" Killua asked, poiting to Agumon and Gabumon. "You can do the numbers yourself, right?"

Puppetmon looked at the two, remembering the presence of both ZeedGarurumon and VictoryGreymon. He wasn't the strongest of the Dark Masters, heck he was probably the weakest, so if this kids beat MetalSeadramon then... He was in deep shit. "Umm, yeah I can."

"If he gets out of my hands, or if something happens to this remote," He waved the device in the air. "Then you guys deal with him and then scold me and punch me all you want and say "I told you so" All you want!"

The Digidestined all stayed silent for a moment. As much as they hate it, as much as they didn't liked the idea, as much as they loath it, Killua has a point. The more firepower they have the better and three Megas instead of two is way better. Specially since their enemies are only two Megas.

"Fine..." Matt growled. "But don't expect us to be all buddy-buddy with him!"

"Hey, my only buddy here is Killua!" Puppetmon pointed at Killua.

Killua mouthed the word 'Nope' at them.

He clapped his hands, satisfied. "Well now that that's out of the way let's go to the next area. We have to find that resistance group and go after Machinedramon."

"Resistance?" Puppetmon questioned. "Oooooh! The campers Machinedramon said he sent his mons to destroy!"

That gave everyone a pause and they turned to the puppet. "WHAT?!"

"Yeah, something about him finding a group of Digimon destroying his factories and that he sent his strongest Digimon to beat them or something... I was playing with my console at the time..." He said picking on his ears.

"Master Puppetmon!" The four captives whined at their master's betrayal.

Killua clicked his tongue. "Damnit! Now we really need to get there!"

"But what if it's a trap and he only wants to ambush us?" Tai asked, eyeing at Puppetmon with suspicion.

At this Puppetmon stick his tongue at him and pulled his eye lid down.

"And if it isn't?" Killua fired back. "We could be leaving thousands of innocent to fight alone! They need us, or at the least you guys, to guide them!"

"Why us?" Mimi asked. "Just because we have the Digivices doesn't mean we can guide them!"

"Because we have the Digivices is our job!" Tai said, conceding to Killua's point.

"Says who?!" Matt said. "We keep risking our necks all the time and we never get answers as to why us of all people who were on Hikarigaoka were chosen!"

Izzy tried to placate the situation. "Don't start fighting, this is not the time!"

Puppetmon looked amused. "Wow, and I thought Piedmon and MetalSeadramon were always at each other's throats."

"Quiet you," Killua said pointing him with the control. Puppetmon shut his trap at the promise of pain. "Look I don't know who brought us here, but right now those Digimon might be waiting for us either way!"

"Then why don't go to against Machinedramon and then to the resistance?" Joe asked. "That way we'll have an even bigger number advantage!"

"That's a good idea," Killua said. "Piedmon proved to be the strongest of the four," he turned to Puppetmon, "is he?"

"To my misery, yes," Puppetmon grumbled. And the captives groaned.

"Thanks," He said. "So by having a large number at our side, we'll have more possibilities to win."

Mimi seemed reluctant and let out a sigh. "I don't wanna... I'm tired of all this fight. I know what you said before, Killua but... I'm honestly scared." She clung to the unconscious Chuumon.

"Mimi..." Palmon placed a hand on the girl's leg.

Killua's eyes softened at seeing the scared girl. "I'm sorry it's this way, Mimi."

"I just don't get it," Mimi said. "Why us? Why us out of millions of children in the world? Or from your world, Killua?"

There was silence as no one had an answer. Puppetmon didn't talked, even though he wanted to mock the girl for being scared, because he was afraid of another discharge.

But then a voice spoke.

"I might be able to answer," A familiar, yet somehow different voice, spoke.

They turned and saw Kari, with Wizarmon and Gatomon looking strangely at her, emerging from the trees.

"Kari?" Tai asked. "Where were you?"

Killua for his part, noticed something. While Kari's eyes still had their normal shine, they were somehow different. Like she suddenly gained wisdom far greater than any girl her ages should have.

Gatomon shook her head. "This isn't Kari."

"But she isn't an enemy either," Wizardmon said.

Everyone was confused at the two statements.

Whoever this... Person was gave them a smile. "Digidestined, anomaly. I've wanted to meet you for a long time now."
