Chapter 36: Life Xtra

"The tale of the Snow Queen…"

Ten-year-old Simon Schmidt held the large book in his hands, the young boy with dark hair and grey eyes curiously reading the title and the name of the author who wrote it, a frown crossing his lips.

"... By Hans Christian Anderson…."

He felt conflicted about the book his parents gave him, debating whether or not he truly wished to read it.

Then again, did he have a choice?

Normally, he would find himself playing with his friends, with his toys, or watching television, but his father and mother had told him he needed to read a book for today, as he was being too "lazy" when it came to his studies.

It wasn't his fault; he was just a kid having fun. He didn't want to spend time cooped inside reading a book. He wanted to go out, have fun, be a normal kid. That sort of thing. The incessant ticking of the clock above him sounded as if it was laughing at him.

Although, to be honest, they did have a point. School had been so, so boring lately, so he might've been putting in a little less effort. Some days he just didn't do his homework or read his books like his teachers wanted him to. But who could blame him?

Still, as he clutched the book in his hands, he shook his head and sighed. Maybe he could skim through the book quickly and just tell his parents that he read it. They'd probably believe him, right?

Unless his grandfather ratted him out.

Glancing behind him at his grandfather's quietly snoring figure, unmoving in his rocking chair as always, Simon tiptoed over to sit down on the sofa, trying to make himself comfortable as he prepared himself mentally to read this boring book.

Thankfully, the fire crackling in the fireplace would be enough to serve as his reading light.

Folding open the book's dusty spine and reading the inside cover, Simon silently agreed to himself that it didn't look too boring, not like some of the other books he'd had to read. Those were for people older than him and were much more complex and difficult to read than the one he held in his hands.

At least, that was his first impression.

Who knew? Maybe it'd be an okay book after all.

"What'cha got there, kid?"

Simon jumped at his grandfather's voice, turning to find the man suddenly awake and squinting at him, the wrinkles on his elderly face betraying an amused smile.

The boy sighed exasperatingly, showing him the book.

"Just some boring book about a 'Snow Queen'," he said, making air quotes with his fingers. "Ma and Pa forced me to read it, because I'm a kid. To be honest, I'd rather go out and play." he said, referring to his friends.

His grandfather nodded, extending his hands. "May I see it, Simon? The book?"

Confused, he handed it over, gray eyes observing his grandfather as he scrutinized the hardbound. All the while, he hummed a soft tune that Simon didn't recognize.

By the time the minute hand of the clock had circled 'round again, he was getting impatient, and was about to ask what was taking so long when his grandfather chuckled to himself. Simon raised an eyebrow.

"What?"

"Nothing, my child, just…" His grandfather sighed, his expression clouding over, a distant, faraway look in his eyes enveloping his gaze. Simon couldn't tell what emotion was playing behind his grandfather's eyebrows. Fear? Sadness?

"Reminds me of a different time. A different place." He paused, as if uncertain whether to continue. "You know, I met the Snow Queen, once."

"Really?! That Snow Queen?!" Simon huffed, crossing his arms. "I don't buy it."

Simon's grandfather chuckled, shaking his head as he set the book to the side, glancing over at his grandson. "But I did, I promise you that. In fact, why don't you sit over here and I'll tell you the story?"

"But Opa, I'm too old for this!"

"Now, now. Nobody's old enough for stories. Come, sit."

Simon sighed as he went over to sit on the floor in front of his grandfather, crossing his legs as he glanced up at the elderly man. His grandfather then shifted in his chair, clearing his throat ominously before he spoke.

"Now, where to begin? Oh right! You see, when I first met the Snow Queen, I wasn't but a young man in my prime years, merely doing my part by serving my country during the second world war. You know about that, don't ya lad?"

Simon nodded. Who wouldn't know about the second world war, the war that took place merely half a century ago and scarred the whole world?

"Well, you see, after the war ended, I was among the men who volunteered to help the countries destroyed by the war. Your Grandma, God bless her soul, thought so too, and I was sent to help a fallen kingdom by the name of Arendelle. You know of that city, don't ya?"

"Yes Opa! I know!" The boy rolled his eyes.

"Easy lad, I know, I know, you're impatient. I'm just testing your knowledge."

Simon frowned, growing extremely annoyed. When was his grandfather going to get to the point?

"On arrival in Arendelle, I heard rumors of a magical maiden spirit residing in the kingdom's nearby forest. Yes, now I remember… There were also rumors of existences of other spirits as well, said to live in the forest alongside with the maiden spirit. At first, I didn't believe them. Thought they were just hocus pocus in tricking fools into searching for something that never existed."

Simon's grandfather sighed, smiling.

"But, after hearing more wild stories, I suppose my curiosity won out in the end, just like some of my fellow men. We had grown interested in finding such myths, to see if they were truly real. Of course, for the first few weeks, we didn't find anything, nothing to prove if such a spirit maiden of the snow existed in the forest. And, to be honest, I was disappointed, hoping to perhaps find her so I could prove her existence to the world."

"And I did find her. Or to be more precise," the grandfather directed his gaze at him. "...she found me."

"How?"

"Well, one night, I unfortunately had fallen off a cliff, a tall cliff indeed. I was injured, it was dark, and I was alone. I felt like I was going to die, that no one was going to find me. And it seemed that it was going to be that way… until she appeared right before my eyes, helping me even though she knew of the danger I presented to her, the danger of exposing herself to me. What followed from there, Simon, was something that seemed like a dream, except it was real."

"What happened after, Opa?"

"Well, as she helped heal me back to health, I tried to convince her to come back to society, to help rebuild the kingdom that had once been her home. At first, she was against such a decision out of fear, but I suggested that under a disguise, she could come back with me."

"So she did. The world did accept her, but not for her magic. No, the world had moved on from such an ideal. Magic was considered dangerous, something to fear. Sadly, she had to conceal her powers from everyone. Only I knew of the truth. I wanted to help her, for the Snow Queen to integrate into society once again. And it was working out perfectly, everything was going so well. She helped in whatever she could to restore her former kingdom to the city, Arendelle, it is today. In the beginning, I felt that perhaps, she was someone really kind and pure of heart, a spirit who would be willing to do anything just to be reunited with her family."

The elderly man gave a chuckle, shaking his head.

"How wrong I was."

Simon shifted, feeling a strange, cold, trembling sensation run through his body. "What happened?"

The old man sighed, his shoulders drooping and his expression becoming gloomy.

"For no reason, she attacked us, tried to attack me most of all."

Simon's eyes widened. "But why? Why would- Why?"

"Because, you see, she had a special gift, a gift she should've shared with the world."

"And what gift was that?"

There was a pause, in which the elderly man looked at his curious grandchild again. His expression grew serious. The clock's incessant ticking became distant and fell away as Simon focused all his attention on the tale.

"The gift of living forever. The gift of… immortality."

Simon felt his mouth drop open out of shock.

"Immortality?! But Opa, that's impossible!"

"It's what I thought as well, but she had revealed her secret to me, and I knew she had meant it. Then again, I could not keep something like that from my fellow officials, knowing how such a gift could save lives. So we offered to help her, hoping she would accept such a proposition."

The grandfather's hands began to tremble, his voice grew shaky with rage.

"Instead, she was nothing but a selfish, heartless, miserable creature who wanted to keep it only to herself, claiming it was nothing but a curse for her to live with. But they were only lies, Simon, lies to fool us into believing her, into pitying her. And when she ran back to the forest after she attacked us, after we tried to help her, it proved she was nothing but a monster. A terrible person who was willing to let people die rather than try to save their lives."

"Then… what?" Simon wasn't used to seeing his grandfather like this.

The elderly man sighed, limping in his rocking chair as the anger on his face began to disappear, subsiding into melancholy defeat.

"We searched for her in the forest, searched for her everywhere in Arendelle, but she was long gone by then. The only possible clue we had of her possible whereabouts was that of a river full of memories. She had talked of it at times. But we didn't know of such a river. In the end, we were ordered by our superiors to keep silent about her existence, to forget about her and move on in our lives after Arendelle was rebuilt."

"Did you ever find her again?"

Simon's grandfather shook his head.

"No, child. I didn't. I never saw her again. And I may never see her ever again, as it's been such a long time since that happened…"

Simon's grandfather continued to talk, ranting on about the Snow Queen and how he had made a vow to find her again and make her pay one day, but that he never could succeed in doing so.

But Simon wasn't listening. No, the boy was already concentrating on what he'd heard from his grandfather over this… Snow Queen. The gears in his mind turned, fueled by a strange combination of curiosity and resentment that he didn't remember ever having.

One thought in particular lingered in his head, one that latched onto his mind like a leech, not willing to let go.

Immortality…

Maybe, just maybe, if he tried hard enough, he could prove her existence to the world. They had already made fun of his grandfather, but that was because he'd had no proof.

Unless… unless…

The gears were now clicking and opening new locks, replacing the boring, repetitive droning of the clock with a calculated focus that drowned all other thoughts out. Simon found himself tapping his fingers thoughtfully, a smirk forming upon his lips as an idea came to mind. Maybe it had been worth it to skip going outside today.

'I'll just have to find her myself then…'

"... Excuse me, Mr. Simon. Uh, sir, are you okay?"

Staring off into the distance while lost in thought isn't exactly new for Simon Schmidt. After all, the twenty-six-year-old finds it helpful for him as he's able to more clearly form his thoughts, repetitively rolling his gold watch around his wrist.

Standing by the window in his private office, he has quite the view of the city he's in. After all, the scenery isn't bad. Especially from the highest office in his own building, dubbed as the "tallest building in the world."

The building is easy to distinguish among the other skyrisers, particularly from the logo etched around its side, giant words spelling out LIFE XTRA with the design of a leaf next to the words. The logo is meant to represent the organization, best known for revolutionizing the field of human biology through new forms of medicines, it's all owned by Simon Schmidt.

Simon Schmidt, one of the world's youngest, most famous pharmaceutical CEOs and billionaires...

"Mr. Simon?"

"Huh?" Simon is brought back to reality, turning away from the large, stainless, crystal clear window in front of him as he focuses his attention on the person standing nervously by his side. "Oh, it's you."

The woman nervously fumbles with the black tablet in her hand, her lab coat and the name tag pinned on it spelling 'Olivia, Head Scientist, Life Xtra' shaking slightly. Adjusting her glasses, she clears her throat once more.

All while staring at her boss' stone-cold eyes.

"Sir, I would like to inform you that your presentation is set to begin shortly in just a couple of minutes. They're waiting for you in the auditorium."

"Is that all?" His low voice, dripping with annoyance, made Olivia shiver.

"Uh, nothing else at the moment. Uh, sir."

Simon maintains his cold barrage of stares before he sighs, running a hand through his slick dark hair. "Let's get this over with."

Turning around, he collects his navy blue coat hanging over his office chair and swings it over himself, adjusting his suit in his personal mirror. He shoots a glance at Olivia out of the corner of his eye.

Beads of sweat begin to form on the female scientist's forehead as she wonders what to do. Does he want an opinion? Why did he look at me? Did I do something wrong?

She observes her boss carefully, brown eyes nervously skimming over the man's dark blue suit multiple times. "It, uh, it suits you very well, sir."

Simon shoots a glare at the sweating assistant, muttering a soft, disapproving "Mmm" before making his way out of his private office. Full of regret at saying anything at all, Olivia finds herself having to walk faster in order to keep up with him. They make their way towards the crystal glass elevators down the hall, stepping into them as Simon pushes one of the buttons.

Silence. Neither of them say a word.

"Going down."

As the elevator doors close, Simon pulls out a small notebook from his coat and opens it as they begin to descend, skimming over the pages quietly to himself. Seeing him lost in his notes, Olivia tries to distract herself with the scenery through the clear glass. The city of London was a sight to behold, after all. With the morning light reflecting off of each and every pane and window in the city, it really created a spectacle to marvel at.

Especially…

Ding!

Olivia recognizes the noise as a new email in her inbox. Frowning, she opens her tablet to view the message. The sender address marked over, she downloads and opens the file, her eyes growing confused, then narrowing, before finally widening in surprise.

"Sir, you need to see this…"

"First floor. You have reached your destination."

The elevator doors open before she can finish her sentence. Simon quickly steps out into the main lobby of the building as Olivia follows behind in an attempt to get his attention.

"Mr. Simon, sir, you need to see this right now! A-"

Unfortunately, her attempt fails as the media instantly surround him, news reporters from all sides pressing forward around the man, all clamoring to gain the billionaire's attention for a second or two by drowning him in a frenzy of questions and voices shouting over each other.

"Mr. Simon, is it true that you possibly found a way to reverse dementia-"

"Mr. Simon, there's rumors floating around the internet of Life Xtra being involved with secret mercenary and paramilitary forces, can you confir-"

"Mr. Simon, in your upcoming presentation, do you plan on addressing issues such as major health problems in today's society or what do you have in mind?"

"Mr. Simon! Mr. Simon…"

The spout of questions is endless, but their effect is put to a close as bodyguards soon surround the man, pushing the reporters back to allow Simon and Olivia a pathway towards the auditorium. He remains silent anyway. The doors close behind them with a tone of finality.

Once inside, the CEO is quietly guided through the large auditorium and to the front stage. The whole time, Olivia attempts to gain his attention, speaking in a hushed, yet urgent voice.

"Sir, please, the-"

He just raises a hand, silencing her before she can say another word. All she can do is watch in fearful silence as he turns around to face her, a stone-cold glare written over his face.

"Inform me after I'm done. After."

Simon doesn't give Olivia a chance to reply, immediately turning around and walking onto the stage, greeting the public audience with a friendliness and hospitality that Olivia knows in her heart is fake. It's just an act on his part to gain the audience's love, to get them to invest in his company's work for his next marketable product.

The product that would soon change the world for generations to come.

Her eyes slowly flicker down to her tablet, the open file distracting her from what's happening onstage. Meanwhile, an audience of medical students, researchers, scientists, and investors all listen, raptured, to Simon's speech.

But, lost in thought, her ears drown out the noise.

The only problem remaining for his future product was where to find the source that would serve as the basis and foundation for the future product, how to acquire such a thing that would spark its creation. With her newly received file though, she now held what Simon needed to further his experiments, to prove that his newest product was on the verge of becoming a reality.

However…

"-of course considering the fact that, on average, women live longer than us men."

The laughter from the audience snaps Olivia back as she tears her eyes away from the tablet to Simon's casual stance on the stage, the CEO lightly chuckling from his own joke. Glancing back once more at her screen, Oliva slowly lowers it to her side before focusing on the presentation, knowing to give her full attention in case she's called to the stage.

Which is likely to happen knowing Simon.

After all, she is the project's leading scientist. Her expertise on the subject matter is what's making the product possible. She is among the very few who know its full details. And even if others are aware of the idea, it's something only she can create with her knowledge in the medical field. And with her new data, the dream of creating the new product seems to be within their grasp. Finally, the medicine was within reach.

Medicine that could expand the human lifespan for years to come.

Until then, Olivia knows what her next step should be, to show Simon the email and finally proceed with his plan. The plan of introducing marketable medicine that could cure many of humanity's deadly diseases, that the world would be willing to pay any sum of money for.

After he's done with his presentation, of course.

"Yes, thank you for coming. Talk soon."

With a forced smile, Simon releases his hand from the pudgy investor's handshake, the man returning a warm smile to the CEO before departing with the others. Watching them make their way out, Simon eyes the dim walls of the auditorium to notice a few leftover people still lingering around and chatting.

Pulling his sleeve down to glance down at his watch, Simon turns around and silently leaves the room, pulling out a handkerchief from his coat. He wipes his hand with it, disgust seeping across his stern features.

"And he had to shake my hand…"

If there was one thing Simon despised most, it was having to remotely touch his partners, those "inferior" to him, those who were of a lower class than him. Investors were near the top of that list, among several others. His competitors came in at a close second. But the list was far too long to unravel every time he had to shake a hand, which was, in his opinion, much too often.

But a large part of him knew he had to put aside his own beliefs for the sake of his company, to let his "inferiors" invest their money. That way, the research could move forward smoothly and efficiently. The company could afford more and progress faster, such as hiring the best scientists to work for him and having private contracts with mercenary and paramilitary forces.

Speaking of which, he needed to check up on the group stationed near Arendelle. It had been a day since he'd gotten any updates, and Simon was not one to wait for anything…

"Mr. Simon!"

… If it wasn't for her.

Merely inches away from reaching the lobby doors, Simon stops in his tracks with a sigh, slipping the handkerchief back into his coat. Turning around, he finds Olivia running up to him, the head scientist stopping right in front of him as she tries to catch her breath.

"Mr. Simon *gasp*, you really need to *gasp* see this..."

She pulls out her tablet and hastily tries to hand it to him, but he only pushes it away, turning around to reach for the door.

"Wait. And stop interrupting me."

What he sees upon pushing the doors open, however, is slightly surprising. The building's lobby is completely devoid of all staff members, rare in itself. But further, it's occupied by a group of soldiers, all dressed in dark clothing, stationed around the place. Outside, parked in the building's drive-in outside the front doors, are black SUVs, similar soldiers standing near the vehicles.

The person his eyes are drawn to first is the tall one with the large scar running down his face, standing in front of him with a stone-cold expression.

Keres.

Olivia catches up to Simon's side before noticing Keres and the others, shaking her head with a sigh.

"No, sir, I'm afraid it can't wait any longer."

Simon scoffs briefly, exasperated, before turning his direction back to Keres, met once again with the intimidating frozen look of the soldier in front of him. Feeling a drop of sweat trailing down the side of his face, Simon does his best to compose himself in front of the soldier while clearing his throat.

"Keres, good to see you."

The man's only reply is a short grunt. Simon simply brushes it off though, his expression beginning to match that of Keres' stone-cold look by now.

"I trust you've come here with my request."

Keres gives a nod of his head before he gestures to Olivia, his stone-cold expression focusing on the head scientist.

"Why don't you ask her?"

Simon diverts his attention to the assistant, his questioning look asking for an explanation from the head scientist.

"Well, sir, I was trying to tell you earlier, but you didn't want to listen to me. You were too busy preparing for your speech and ignored me, even when I told you it was clearly important."

Simon partly opens his mouth, as if about to say something, but closes it upon noticing several bystanders outside the building observing them through the clear windows. Keres notices this too, instantly and discreetly signaling his men to quietly head out through the front lobby's doors before turning back to Simon and Olivia.

"Why don't we head out for a drive, so we can speak about this matter…" Keres gestures around their environment, motioning towards the window onlookers, "More privately?"

Both men nod. Upon the silent agreement, the tall general turns and exits the lobby, Simon folding his hands and doing the same. Olivia's attempt to follow suit is quickly derailed when Simon steps directly in front of her without warning, a glare in his eyes.

"Next time, do inform me in advance. I hate being notified about something important at the last minute."

The lobby doors swing closed behind him before Olivia can reply, leaving the head scientist in a mixed state of disbelief, confusion, and shock. The SUVs purr deeply as their motors ignite and the men climb in. Watching him being escorted into the front vehicle, Olivia shortly follows behind with a frown and a soft sigh.

Sometimes, Simon was just too difficult to understand.

"Well?"

Simon's eyes flicker up from the tablet's screen to be met with Keres' stone-cold expression, the general's arms crossed together. His foot tapping impatiently on the floor, the man waits to hear the CEO's opinion.

Simon, however, is visibly at a loss of words, his mind trying to absorb everything he just watched within the recent minutes from Olivia's tablet. It should be easy to answer Keres's question, to say literally anything at all.

But no words come out of his lips.

My God, she's actually real…

Deep down inside, he had never doubted her existence, the "Ghost," as the world had come to label the mythical spirit over the years. Now, the Ghost of the Enchanted Forest was believed to be little more than a myth, something created from the whims of a fairytale-like the original Snow Queen.

For the last few decades, it'd seemed that there was no way to prove it, no way to even confirm her being real at all…

Until now.

Glancing back at the tablet in his hands, his fingers gently tap the screen as the video plays for the tenth time. Simon watches Keres' security footage, his eyes soaking up every detail, every second, listening and watching with fascination, awe, his heart pounding with excitement.

Is that your name? Well, hello, Elsa…

Seeing the Ghost in the flesh for the first time is truly spectacular for Simon. His fingers tremble slightly, little electric shocks shooting up and down his body. It was hard enough to get over the fact that she existed. But she was also so deadly powerful. Despite the footage's spotty and crackling static, it perfectly displays the raw strength of the Ghost, Elsa. It shows just fine how enhanced her power grows in anger, how terrifying the immortal spirit can be when threatened.

It's even more fascinating to witness the extent of her icy powers, The longer the footage plays, demonstrating Elsa's strength as she beats down on one of his Arendellian associates, Hans Everburn, how close she was to killing him. His eyes momentarily flicker up to see the same man sitting next to Keres, the mayor's son quietly enjoying the city's view as the vehicle strolls down the streets, before back at the screen.

His interest peaks yet again when an unknown young woman and man, rather, a couple, appear by the alleyway, stopping the Ghost just in time before she can kill Hans. Instead, she knocks him out with a punch. The couple walk over, regard the situation in concern, and check to make sure that Elsa is alright and safe.

It's fascinating.

Here, Simon learns of the figures' names. Elsa, the Ghost… Anna, the woman… and Kristoff, the man. It's hard to make out from the camera's poor vantage point, but he's able to discern part of their conservation, including their names.

It proves something of worth to him, to learn how close the two figures are to the Ghost. From the looks of it, they're able to stop Elsa from losing control of her power. A quite close bond, indeed. Perhaps this revelation would aid in her capture.

If things go according to plans, of course...

He doesn't bother watching the rest of the footage at this point, he's seen enough. Handing the tablet back to Olivia, who sits by his side, he focuses his attention on the smug Hans, who quickly notices the CEO's attentive glance in his direction.

"When did this happen?"

Hans is silent for a moment, thinking carefully before giving an answer.

"I believe... yesterday afternoon, if my memory serves me well."

"Serves you well...?"

The mayor's son hesitantly shoots a glance towards Keres, though it's not returned.

"Sir, what it looks like is that when the Ghost attacked the guy, she made sure to wipe all recollection of the event from his mind. Of course, our hidden cameras were lucky enough to capture the footage and provide an account, which you just saw."

"What about hard proof? Blood, tissue, hair, DNA, something Olivia here can work with?"

Keres shifts uncomfortably. "There were no reasonable samples to be collected. If there were, it would likely be contaminated and pretty much useless."

Simon scoffs, leaning back into the car seat and shaking his head.

"She was right there. Right. There. I expected actual proof of the Ghost's existence, and you're telling me this is it?"

"But the footage-" Hans tries to interject.

"Can easily be considered as nothing more than an edited film," Simon stops him mid sentence with a raise of his hand, annoyed, "Yes, this is real to you, but what's to say if others were to watch this? And without evidence of the actual Ghost, then how am I supposed to believe this?"

The air in the SUV seems to chill as quiet realization sinks in. Simon observes the mayor's son closely, judging for a reaction. Before the CEO can say anything, however, Hans says something that catches him off guard.

"What about finding those close to her?"

This statement alone makes him perk up, though Olivia grows visibly confused while Keres just sits stone-cold impassive as ever.

"And how would that work out?" his assistant says, grimacing.

"Well," Hans suggests while calmly folding his hands together, "As you can see, there are people that know the Ghost's true identity. They could lead you guys directly right to her. Besides, funny coincidence, but it just so happens I'm quite familiar with those two in the footage, the ones she seems to trust." The man reclines in his seat, a smug smile coming over his face. He was a bit full of himself, to say the least.

"Care to explain?"

"Well, I know the guy's name is Kristoff. I've run into him a couple of times in the past. The other girl in the footage, the one that you saw talking directly with the Ghost, well her name is Anna. They both attend the same university I go to." A frown crosses Hans's lips before he continues, "The only thing I'm not sure of is why or how they're even able to hang out with the Ghost, well, Elsa herself. I mean, as far as I know, Kristoff's practically a nobody and Anna is literally a freshman. There's no reason for why the Ghost would show herself to them at all!"

His point is valid, but there's something nagging at the back of Simon's mind, almost as if it was screaming at him. Deep down, he knew there had to be a connection to the puzzle, something that linked Anna to Elsa, a reason why the Ghost wasn't afraid to reveal herself to the girl.

Unless, could it be…?

Reaching into his coat, the CEO carefully pulls out a small, worn diary from within and quickly skims through it, his eyes looking over every page as Keres, Hans, and Olivia silently observe him. After a few minutes, his eyes widen in surprise, then harden in resolve, the CEO closing slipping the diary back into his coat.

He glances in Hans's direction.

"Set up a meeting with the chancellor of Arendelle Academy."

"Well, yeah, I guess. I mean, my father's friends with the chancellor himself, mostly as he's the mayor after all…" Hans's eyes narrow, now displaying visible confusion, "Why…?"

"Consult with Keres, make a plan, and make it happen," he snaps, immediately diverting his attention to the military general before Hans even has a chance to respond. "Keres, drop me off back at Life HQ, then take him back to Arendelle. And make sure that whatever plan you decide, that my competitors don't get wind of it."

"But sir, the Ghost will be extremely resistant to capture-"

Simon snarls, baring his teeth. He's not letting anyone get in the way of his goal. "Do it. You have the tools at your disposal, your men, guns. So either do the job or I'll hire another group to do it. Understand?"

There's a silence in the air, a tension felt by everyone. All is quiet, while Keres struggles for the words to respond. After a while, the general sighs, giving an exasperated nod of his head.

"Understood, boss," Keres says, then turning around to get the driver's attention. Olivia momentarily makes eye contact with the driver in the rearview mirror. His nervous eyes blink at her for a fraction of a second. "Marius, take us back around."

As the SUV screeches, on the route back to Life Xtra, Olivia can't help but ask her boss the question everyone is thinking.

"Sir, what are you planning?"

He doesn't reply instantly, only gesturing for the tablet in Olivia's hands. She hands it over, and the CEO once again searches for the security camera's footage. Upon finding it, he scans through the video, looking for a specific frame.

"An idea," is all he says, hinting at the frantic maze of thoughts and decisions warping through his mind.

"Which is?"

He pauses the footage, a smirk crossing his lips. Grinning in evil triumph, he rotates the device so that everyone can see. The screen is paused on the young woman by Elsa's side, clutching to the Spirit's shaking hands.

"Because, without her realizing it, Anna is going to help us capture the Ghost."

A/N: Chapter end! And it's a cliffhanger, I know I'm sorry :/ But now, you have a glimpse into the villains' plans, so what do you think? Do you believe the villains will be able to capture Elsa for her immortality or fail to do so? What plan does Simon exactly have in order to capture Elsa using Anna without Anna knowing about it? What dangers and surprises await Elsa and Anna themselves? Only time will tell...
