CHAPTER 44: A Moving Experience
(Yes, it's Wednesday, not Sunday, Things happened. Here it is now.)
Truck driving was comparatively relaxing to dealing with customers all day. Especially since, with the sufficiently advanced technology, she didn't have to do most of the driving.
Looking out upon the sea of cars ahead of her, she relaxed and smiled, knowing that even here, out in the middle of nowhere with no one needing her attention, she was helping.
Humans expect trucks, and so trucks need to be driven. Even if it was just from one side of a small country to another, a truck on a road reassured the panicky humans there was nothing wrong.
Sometimes the trucks were filled with supplies for mostly human staffed locations, sometimes there was nothing more than games to play while stopped for the night.
She was lucky, she got the truck with the pool back there.
Sure, she needed to be careful to pretend to be a human, but that was what she had to do anyway.
As the traffic moved forward, she sat back up and enjoyed her vacation.
