Relationship Ishes
I.
Team Possible returned to the Llenrock campus after their latest mission to Middleton and quickly settled back into their routines: Kim continued to ace all of her classes while Ron struggled to get by in his, but with his GF's assistance, he managed to keep his head above water. And while the erstwhile sidekick continued his tour of duty on Dorm Crew, the auburn-haired teen hero gave him regular welcome reminders of just why he wanted to stay at school with her, though the brief interlude of his having a roommate gave him pause.
Fortunately, Dieter and his lederhosen were but a temporary change to Ron's world. More permanent, and much to his liking, was the purple highlight, more of a streak, Kim added to her hair. She still smiled when she remembered his enthusiastic reaction, "Whoa, KP. That's beyond badical!"
Meanwhile, Fern continued to date her sorority friend, giving Kim and Ron space to continue doing what young lovers do, and Rufus had just been named Llenrock's honorary mascot, which kept him busy and, again, was appreciated by the two principal members of Team Possible. Further, the bad guys were keeping what Kim called a "low pro," and Wade continued to monitor the situation with his usual diligence. All seemed well at college for the two.
That's when Ron received a summons to Dean Barkin's office, or as the tow-headed young man had come to think of it, lair. Kim went with him, hoping to calm her boyfriend's nerves. She was helping to do that, if just barely.
II.
"Stoppable, sit down," Barkin snarled in what Ron recognized was a greeting. "You may as well, too, Possible."
The man sat behind his desk while the two students took the chairs before him and, he was sure, squirmed. Though the college administrator wore a stony face he was smiling inside. There was nothing like knowing one could instill primal fear into the girl who could do anything and the boy who single-handedly took out two nine-foot-tall aliens. Barkin enjoyed his moment of satisfaction, then got down to business.
"Stoppable, how's dorm crew going?"
"Uh, you see, I …" he grimaced.
"That bad, huh?"
Ron looked like he was going to melt down.
"Dean Barkin, it tanks that Ron has to clean the men's room but he does his job, does his school work, and still adds a ton to the student body here," Kim replied.
"You still speaking for him, Possible?" Barkin sneered.
Kim didn't like his tone; Ron still seemed on edge. "For now, yes. Now, what's the ish?"
"The 'ish' is that while your boyfriend is scrubbing Johns, I need him doing the crabwalk."
Kim's eyes opened wide. Ron, meanwhile, was on the edge of a full freak out.
"You mean?" she said expectantly.
"Stoppable is back on the team," Barkin growled.
"I didn't do it!" Ron blurted out. Kim and Barkin both looked at him. He looked back at them and rubbed his neck nervously.
"Ron?"
"Okay, I did. But I just realized that was back when I was working at Smarty Mart and Mr. Smarty actually told me he liked my thinking outside of the box and, so, wait, where were we?"
Barkin began rubbing his temples as if to stave off a headache while Kim smirked, then added, "Let's keep our heads in the game, 'kay?"
Ron nodded sheepishly at Kim, who smiled, then looked back to the dean.
"Does this mean Ron's scholarship is reinstated?"
"Yes," Barkin said.
"Coolio!" Ron enthused. "When do you want me back on the field?"
Barkin looked at his watch. "Practice began 40 minutes ago. You're late. You know what that means."
Ron gulped. "Extra laps du crab?"
Barkin looked at him through narrowed eyes. "Yes. Now get to it."
III.
Bonnie was not happy. Not in the least.
While she had gotten the beefcake, that came with a high price: exile from Senior Island. She found herself wincing as she saw the confused expression on Junior's face when she learned of her fate. Then she grimaced as she remembered the stony visages of Evil and Treachery, two of Senor Senior's trusted henchmen. They seemed to take grim satisfaction at dragging Bonnie and Troy down to the dock, where they were unceremoniously dropped into a Zodiac boat laden with survival supplies, and then sent on their way.
Troy had proven to be a disappointment. While he had indeed glistened, now all he did was whine.
Frankly, that was Bonnie's job. So, instead she felt sorry for herself.
IV.
"Now, my son, would you like me to purchase the Werner Sisters studio?" Senior Senor asked his only child, who was moping.
"Will it come with screaming fan girls who will throw themselves at me like my precious Bon-Bon?" Junior asked.
Senor Senior sighed. "Will you not let go of her, Junior? Miss Rockwaller was bad news."
"But how, Papi? I will confess that I did not appreciate seeing her with that male bimbo, but is not looking out for oneself what you told me was essential to being a supervillain?"
"Um, yes, but, er …"
"And my precious Bon-Bon seems to have the basics of that down pat. Much as it disappoints me, she did cheat so that she might enjoy herself. More to her credit, she has an unhealthy animus toward my former Blue Fox, Kim Possible who still is dating Ron Stoppable, he of the uncoordinated wardrobe." Junior then paused and looked knowingly at his father, then continued, "She cackles like an accomplished villain. And, she has a very bad temper."
"True enough, my Son, but I do not know if this is wise."
"Why can we not retrieve her, and let bygones be bygones?"
"I must say that I find that both your heart and my bank account would be at considerable risk …"
"Oh you need not worry about that, Papi. She will be disciplined: No charge cards. No boy toys, other than me. No, she will be on a short leash."
Senor Senior cocked a surprised eyebrow. "I do not think you would want Miss Rockwaller to hear that, Junior."
Junior tittered at the idea of Bonnie on a leash. "Oh, Papi, I am evil, am I not?"
Then he giggled, then guffawed.
His father, meanwhile, sighed, and pressed the intercom. "Evil, Treachery, please meet me in my study …"
V.
Kim had her arm entwined in Ron's as they walked from the athletic complex.
"And how was your first day back at practice?" she asked.
"Great," Ron groaned. "My body is killing me. I didn't know it was possible to do the Crabwalk the way Coach B told me to …"
"And I bet you didn't know that there are new ways for me to massage you," Kim said as her fingers did a nice, slow walk up his arm.
Ron grinned. "I may be in pain, but I have my eyes on the prize, KP."
"Oh, I see you're looking toward Collegetown. Imagining Bueno Nacho?" she gibed.
"No, uh, yeah, but the nacoliciousness comes after the KP magic! You gotta believe me!"
"Smart boy," she said before she bussed him on the cheek and led him to the neighborhood adjacent to campus, the ever-bustling, student-friendly Collegetown.
VI.
Bonnie shook her head. Self-centeredness and meanness had torpedoed her relationship with Brick. And now it seemed to have sabotaged her romance with Junior, who was as dim as the high school football star, but was immensely richer and better dressed. She had foolishly wanted something that wasn't hers and got it. But Troy was a flash in the pan. Why was Possible always able to be with the Prince Charming?
Without thinking, she snorted.
Troy looked up at her. "Yeah?" he asked.
"Nothing. Just thinking about someone I used to know."
"Oh? Who?
"It was some guy I knew in Middleton: Ron Stoppable."
"Kim Possible's boyfriend?" Troy shook his head. "Man, what a dork. She could have had me and stuck with him …"
Bonnie's eyes flared. "Okay, let's get something straight. You may have Stoppable beaten in the looks department, but in getting something done? No contest, he wins, hands down."
"Well, if you want to count stealing my place on the football team …"
"Actually, I was thinking about taking down those aliens last spring. You save the world recently? Uh huh, no. You save Kim from ET? Or any girlfriend? I think not."
"But—"
"Talk to the hand," Bonnie said dismissively. I really wish I could get off this tub, she thought. Much to her surprise, that was when a periscope conveniently appeared next to the Zodiac in which she was trapped with the self-important senatorial scion.
VII.
"Okay, I may not be a Roadie Scholar, but Ron Stoppable knows this is not Bueno Nacho," he said as they stood in front of the café.
"Good work, Sherlock," Kim said as she approached the door, opened it, and began to lead her boyfriend by the hand. "Now how about having my back?"
Ron grinned, and said, "Always, KP." Once inside, he looked around, somewhat confused. "Okay, KP, what's the dealio? I mean, sure, it looks like a café you'd find in a college town – hey! It's a Collegetown Café in Collegetown! Freaky!"
Kim simply smirked. "You up for a walk on the wild side?"
Ron's eyes bulged out. He never imagined Kim talking to him that way in public. He gulped as he considered that her dad had the place wired and he was being set up for a deep space trip if he failed to be a gentleman. "Uh, yeah, KP, you know this is kind of a public place and …"
She cocked an eyebrow. "I was talking about trying a new place for you to get 'snackage'. You, on the other hand, seem to be thinking of something else."
Ron hemmed and hawed as he tugged at his collar as Kim leaned in and whispered, "It's okay. But fooding now, fooling around later."
