Day 59: Motivation

A/N: There has been a lot of power outages/ internet service being down in my neighborhood and it made me behind a lot of assignments the past weeks which is why there had been no updates. I can't update if I'm behind on certain things. The power outages are still happening here and there so if there's no update that's why.

Dinner date part 2 will be a future chapter.

Raven Castle

6:45 pm

"I'm home," Misaki said upon entry of the bedroom she shared with Takumi. She closed the door behind her whilst looking around for Takumi who would normally greet her at the main door of the castle but seeing as he wasn't there, she figured he would be in the bedroom.

She approached the desk and sat down in the chair, placed her bag on the desk then proceeded to take off her shoes. "Takumi?" She called again wondering if he was possibly in the bathroom.

Misaki heard a splash come from in the bathroom and realized he was in there but didn't hear her. Putting her shoes to the side, she started to take off her jacket. Misaki was tired from another hectic day of work. After two days, the embassy seemed to be on the right track of being able to function cohesively. The downside was most of the employees seemed to hate her for the extra workload. She sighed thinking about how tense the atmosphere at work was.

Maybe it would change in the future, maybe it won't.

There was the sound of the bathroom door being opened then closed, followed by the footsteps of Takumi who was surprised to see Misaki here already.

"Misa," He said walking over to his wife. How didn't he notice the time already? He was so caught up with preparing the bathroom. "What's wrong?" He questioned noticing her tired expression. Was Misaki working too hard?

"What?" Misaki replied a bit puzzled.

Takumi stooped down to meet her eye to eye. He knew something was bothering his wife. He noticed the slightest change in her behavior because of how much he studied her. She had mentioned how it was a bit difficult transitioning to the embassy. That might be the issue.

"Is it work?" He asked.

"It feels like high school all over again," Misaki softly stated. "It feels like I'm the demon prez again. Hated by all."

"Do I need to remind you I fell in love with the demon prez? I love that woman, dangerous aura and all," Takumi replied removing a strand of hair that fell out of place and onto her face. He noted how much longer her hair was getting day by day.

Misaki chuckled at his response. "Of course you did Takumi, you are a very weird alien."

"I loved the demon prez, I loved the cosplay maid and I love Misaki. And in the end, everyone loved and respected the work you did in highschool Misa. It may start out tough but unbeknownst to you, you have a way of charming others and motivating them with your hard work. It takes some time for others to see your tough love is just you trying to push them to do better. You did the impossible with Seika, I know you can do it here. Trust me," Takumi said leaning forward to kiss her forehead. When he leaned back he said, "And if no one likes you right now you still have me."

"You were going so good with this speech until that last part at the end Takumi. But thank you for cheering me up," She said feeling much better. It was then she finally noticed his somewhat dry clothes. "Weren't you in the shower?"

"Oh right," Takumi instantly remembered what he was doing before this. "Come here," He stood up first and reached out his hand for her to take. Misaki carefully placed her hands in his and stood up to follow him into the bathroom. She gasped when he opened the door. "I prepared a candlelight bubble bath for you with some wine and dinner. A guaranteed stress reliever."

Surely her husband was indeed an alien. How did he know she needed something like this tonight?

"And I won't bother you. Enjoy your time alone, not thinking about work or even me. Just focus on yourself and relax. If you need anything just call for me and I will happily serve you."

Misaki couldn't help but smile at the kind and thoughtful gesture. "Thank you, Takumi."

The next updates for Our lives will be Friday and Sunday.
