Fluttershy's eyes slammed open. As she lifted her head and hyperventilated out of absolute shock, Catching her deskmate Rainbow Dash, the other students and the Teacher off guard.
"Are you okay, Fluttershy?" Shining asked as he suddenly became concerned.
However, he got no answer. As Fluttershy was still in her current freaked out state. So it prompted Rainbow Dash to shake her.
"Get a hold of yourself, Flutters!"
Well, that seemed to do the trick as Fluttershy managed to catch her breath and regain her composure.
Her breathing became normal again, as she calmed down. "B-bad dream...S-Scary monster..."
Shining finally noticed that Fluttershy did not really look so good. She had dark circles around her eyes and bags underneath them. Her hair was a mess and yadayadayada we've been through this before...
But in all seriousness though, Shining became even more concerned for his student. "Misses Shy, are you feeling alright today?"
Fluttershy was still very much tired and placed her hand on her head. "I...I don't know?"
It was there that Rarity spoke up and enlightened the teacher on her current situation. "Um, well Mr. Armor. Fluttershy said she didn't get much sleep."
Shining quirked his eyebrow, "I see..." He sighed, "Well as happy as I'm you showed up to class. I value the health over my students rather than their attendance."
"N-No it's fine!" Fluttershy spoke up, though still a little groggy. "I'm ready to...learn!"
Shining sighed and folded his arms, "Miss Shy, as your Teacher I highly recommend against that notion-"
The door suddenly opened where Sunset walked into the classroom. Trying to play off what had just happened, "He's here..."
Shining sighed, "Well, I gotta say. You were on a pretty good streak so far Mr. Sentrye-EEeeeE." He widened his eyes to seeing Flash appear in the doorway. Looking eerily similar to how Fluttershy was looking. "Sentry, you look awful!"
Flash leaned up against the doorway. Making up a lie on the spot, "I stayed up studying for the test..."
Shining's shoulders dropped and he quirked an eyebrow, "You studied for an open book History test?"
"That's posit...ive..."
It was there that Shining seemingly began to make the eerie coincidence, "Wait a minute." He glanced at Fluttershy for a moment, realizing the very coincidental similarities between them right now.
And not to his surprise, the class (besides Sunset Shimmer) could see the coincidence as well.
But maybe it was just a coincidence at that. Nothing more, nothing less...
He sighed, "Okay, well are you sure you want to take this test...I mean I could just postpone it..."
Flash tried to play off that notion and insisted, "pfft. It's fine...I." He felt dizzy and his eyes could no longer stay open.
Without any warning, he fell forward. Face first into the ground.
Shining widened his eyes, running up to the teen, "Sentry!" But, he began to snore thereafter. Which stopped him in his tracks.
Shining's shoulders dropped, "Well, at least he won't feel that for when he gets up."
And wouldn't you believe it, Fluttershy followed in suit. Immediately dozing back off to sleep. Her snores caught Shining by surprise for a moment.
He sighed and rubbed the temples of his head. "Class...please get an adequate amount of sleep before coming to school. If you don't...this is what happens."
He walked over to Flash, dragging him by his collar. To at least put him in his seat Because let's be honest, Flash sprawled on the floor dozing off would be really distracting.
"SHUT UP!"
All three of the Dragons (Yes, even Aria) was laughing at Flash's suspense. They couldn't help it given how ridiculous he looked when he had re-entered the class.
All of them were on the rooftop in the beginning minutes of lunch. As Flash knew this would be the only time to catch them before they seemingly went off to do their own things.
"Oh man, you should've seen how stupid you looked," Aria cackled. Making Flash even angrier.
"I was studying for an open book test." Ember mocked, trying to imitate Flash's voice, "Sheesh, if that isn't the most cliche thing I've heard."
Flash rolled his eyes and bellowed, "Well maybe if you all let me say a fucking word, I can explain myself!"
They continued laughing at his suspense though, probably not taking him seriously at all. And well, that was probably the tip of the iceberg for the Saiyan. Cause, what happened thereafter...
*SLAP!* *SLAP!* *SLAP!*
All three of the Dragons yelped as Flash slapped all of them across the face at once! With no hesitation whatsoever. As red handmarks were glowing on their cheeks.
"Are you done now!?" Flash asked as he wasn't downplaying the situation one bit.
"Alright..." Sonata rolled her eyes, "Sheesh, somebody's cranky."
"Cranky-THERE'S A LITTLE KID WITH A DREAM VIRUS AND YOU EXPECT ME TO BE COMPOSED?!"
And if that didn't finally catch their attention. They all widened their eyes to that.
"Come again?" They all asked in unison.
Flash sighed, "Look, what I'm about to say is...really crazy but you have to bear with me." He took a deep breath, "so there's a little girl named Starlight Glimmer whose been talking to me and Fluttershy in my dreams because she's infected with the dreamscape virus and-"
"Okay, Okay!" Aria interjected in Flash's blabber fest, "How about instead of pissing your pants, you:ㅤ'CㅤOㅤHㅤEㅤRㅤEㅤNㅤTㅤLㅤY'ㅤ speak to us."
Ember quirked her eyebrow, "Wait." She glanced back at Flash, "What is a dreamscape virus, and how are you sure that Fluttershy-"
"Because she's been the only person I know to appear in the last two Nightmares I've had."
"Okay...let's backtrack. What's going on?" she responded.
Flash sighed, and leaned up against the wall. "Look, last night I had this odd dream about Canterlot being abandoned. I was just walking down the street and saw no sign of anyone there. The place looked like shit. Then suddenly, the next thing I knew, I hear two loud cries for help. In the dream, I used my Superspeed and found Fluttershy and this little girl named Starlight Glimmer being terrorized by some person in a hood. But before I could do anything the hooded guy kinda grabbed me threw me into the ground..."
All Dragons looked at Flash with dropped shoulders and widened eyes. All taking that in simultaneously.
"Oookay. How did you learn about the whole...virus thingy then?" Sonata asked.
"When I was up here earlier this morning I fell asleep. But the weird thing was I didn't know I was even out. Anyway, the next dream started with that girl Starlight crying behind me and running up to me. Then that hooded figure appeared out of nowhere again and began to taunt me. I tried to attack it but it kept dodging me and that was where it told me that it was some sort of ancient virus that was infecting Starlight's head. Uh...then I remember ending up in the school where I saw Fluttershy again. And well...I kinda became aware that it wasn't a coincidence...So the reason I came up with the excuse I did was so I didn't come off as suspicious or anything."
Ember stroked her chin..."Well, I think I have heard of something like a Dreamscape Virus. Hmm..." She looked up at the sky, before coming up with something. "Wait, if I remember correctly. We gave you a copy of the Energy Arcanium right?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Look, if I remember correctly. There was something in there about Telekenisis and Dream Channels. Maybe reading that could help you out?"
Flash nodded, "Alright, then I'm gonna head back to my place then. I'll see you guys when I get back."
"Whut's wrong Sugarcube? You've been quiet all lunch it seems like."
Sunset widened her eyes. Up until now, she hadn't been as talkative as usual.
But obviously, what had happened this morning was still dwelling in her mind. But as soon as Applejack snapped her back into reality, she tried her best to play it off, "Hm? Nothing...Why would you say that?"
"Well, you've just seemed really silent today. Plus, you've been at it with stirring yer food for a while now."
Sunset looked down at the mash potatoes she'd been stirring with her fork with for the past five minutes. Widening her eyes a little, "Oh..."
For now, it was just Applejack and her. As the rest of their friends were in line to get a bite to eat. While Sunflower was out to get some studying in her for her first test.
"Well, I'm fine," Sunset said, with an awkward smirk. Trying to make it look triumphant.
"Come on, Sugarcube. Ah know when my friends got somethin' on their minds they don't wanna talk about." She leaned forward and shot her a crafty smirk, "'sides, it's just you and me. Ain't like anyone else is gonna be ere' to ridicule ya? So come on, whut's botherin' ya?"
Sunset sighed, there was no way to fight Applejack's stubbornness. She was as persistent as a scab!
And well, she was right. Maybe it'd be better to talk to one sole person.
"Well..." She sighed, "Something happened when I was getting Flash earlier..."
Applejack's smile vanished in light of hearing Flash's name. She quirked her eyebrow, "Well...whut happened. Did he do somethin' worth teachin' em' a lesson?"
"No...He was actually asleep."
Applejack widened her eyes and arched her eyebrow, "Ah beg yer pardon?"
"Look, he was asleep on the rooftop and well I didn't have much patience." Sunset explained, "You see it was freezing and I didn't wanna stay up there that long. So I just thought to shake him awake and hope that'd do it. But..." She blushed a little and lowered her head. "I...accidentally shook him a little too hard and...threw him on top of me."
Silence ensued thereafter. As Sunset's face went crimson. Besides sounding kind of embarrassing. The way she worded that last part just sounded kind of awkward.
Applejack placed her hand on top of Sunset's hand, "Well, it ain't nothin' to be embarrassed about." She reassured, "But if ya don't mind me askin'. Whut happened next..."
Sunset felt a little more embarrassed about that than what she had caused. "Well, he woke up acting pretty confused before we locked eyed. All of it happened so fast I acted spontaneously and...punched him." She cringed and sighed, "I didn't know how to react and I just...ugh I don't know what happened!"
Applejack patted Sunset's shoulder, "So that's whut's been eatin' you up?"
"Yup. It's been very vivid all day..." Sunset sighed and put her head down and sighed, "The worst part I didn't mean to do it. Now I can't look at him without remembering...that."
Applejack sympathetically smirked, "Ah'm sure it'll pass in a few days. But as fer now." She stroked her chin and tried to think of something. "Well...Ah guess the best thing you could do is just ignore him and not give him any attention. Y'know, what any sensible person would do."
"Roger that..." Sunset said, raising her arm.
"But...how does. Well whatever happened up there' make ya feel?"
Sunset frowned and groaned, "Embarrassed. And..." She once again blushed, "M-Maybe I feel a little bad for hitting him like that."
Applejack sighed and frowned, "Well then if you want this to go away and feel less-guilty, Ah think you'll have to do the toughest thing yet."
Sunset lifted her head, quirking her eyebrow, "What?"
"You have to apologize."
And if that wasn't the most absurd thing she'd hear.
Sunset widened her eyes. Getting up from her seat in a daze, "WHAT!?"
Applejack shuddered and gestured for her to calm down. "Look, Ah'm not saying you need to. Ah'm just saying if you wanna forget about it faster, just get an apology over with and go right back to normal. Ah thought Ah made that pretty clear?!"
Sunset sat back down, "FYI, he and I don't exactly like each other."
Applejack sighed and shrugged, "Well shoot, Ah was just suggestin' it. But like Ah said, give it a few days or somethin' it'll probably pass and you'll go back to normal."
Sunset sighed and finally took a bite out of her food. "I hope so too..."
Apologize?
She quirked her eyebrow, remembering something similar to that happening just two days ago...
"Fine," Flash closed his eyes and sighed. Before reopening them, looking at her in the sincerest way he could muster. An expression that she had never seen from him before.
"I'm sorry."
She looked away and discretely sneered about that thought.
But, was what Applejack saying really not that bad of an idea now that she was giving it more thought? Would it really be that bad if she just apologized.
I mean, if he could it. Why couldn't she?
