Chapter 132: Pain

Lex grunted as he felt another blow land against his skull. "Just tell me how you want to die and I can end this." The voice said.

"I can't help you." Lex replied, the blow came again.

"Why are you lying, Alexander?" the voice asked, this time it sounded different.

"Go fuck yourself." Lex said. The blow came again, but then another voice spoke.

"We both know that you want to do what has been asked." This voice was softer.

Lex blinked and looked up, a woman was standing before him, the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. "What?" He asked.

"We both know that you want to build the thing that we're asking of you. I can sense it on you." The woman said.

"Why would I want to do that? Superman is my friend." Lex replied, though the doubts were starting to resurface.

"Because you're scared of what he has become. You're scared of what he could become. It's perfectly normal you know. Superman is the closest thing to a God, this planet has ever had." The woman said.

Lex considered this, he knew he'd need to be very careful here. He would do it, but he'd tell Clark about it. "Let's say I am scared, how are you going to ensure my protection?"

The woman held something up to his face, something that gleamed in the light. "We've got enough of this to ensure he can never find you."

"Where did you get that?" Lex asked.

"That doesn't matter. Just answer us this, are you willing to stand up for Earth?" The woman asked.

Lex looked at her, he could barely see her, but he knew what he had to say. He took a deep breath, and hoped to God that Clark could forgive him for this. "Yes, I will build your weapon."
