Annabeth POV

She couldn't believe it! Percy. Here. AT GGHS! HER SCHOOL! A giddy smile formed as she began to walk away with Percy, before she remembered something and gasped. Percy's head snapped over in concern.

"You okay? What's up?" he asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine, but I completely forgot I was talking to Tom!" Annabeth couldn't believe how rude and inconsiderate she'd been.

Percy's eyes narrowed. "Tom?" Annabeth smiled inwardly at his obviously jealous and protective reaction.

"Yes, Seaweed Brain, I talk to other people of the male gender. Calm down though – you will always be my Seaweed Brain. Everything will be alright." Annabeth smiled.

"As long as we're together." Percy finished with a sad smile, accompanied by loving eyes that were shining slightly with tears as the young couple remembered the last time he said those words. Breaking out of her trance, Annabeth grabbed Percy's arm and beckoned him on.

"Come on! I'll introduce you." Annabeth gave him a quick peck on the lips and ran off, towing Percy behind. When they reached her locker, the rest of her friends were there talking to each other. Annabeth smiled at the group, and ran up to them.

"Tom I'm so sorry! I was caught up in the excitement. Guys, this is my boyfriend of two years, Percy Jackson." She put an arm around him as he waved with a grin. Annabeth laughed as she took in the surprised faces of her group. "I told you he was real!"

Percy looked at her confused. "They thought I was fake?" Finally Olive spoke up.

"Well the way she described you made you sound too perfect! Almost like you were half god or something!" she said, her eyes sparking with defiance. Annabeth and Percy cracked up at that, knowing all too well she had no idea what she had said. "What?" asked Olive, confused at their reaction.

"Inside joke." Percy and Annabeth said in sync. Then Annabeth spotted the clock on the wall.

"Guys we have five minutes till class starts! Let's get going!" And with that, they merrily went on their way to their respective classes, smiling and joking.

Percy POV

On the way to class Percy was introduced to all of Annabeth's friends, who all seemed really nice. Olive was short with dark blonde hair, and a spunky personality which he admired. There was also Jasmine, who was the spitting image of the Disney princess, but hated being compared to her. She was generally quite quiet, but Percy could tell she was a kind soul. There were two boys, Hayden and Tom. Hayden had bright red hair which he was very self-conscious about, but once you got to know him he was really nice. Super into cars too, and a massive history geek. Tom had dark brown hair, perfectly gelled at the front, and whilst he wore a wary expression on his face, Percy presumed the guy just needed to warm up to him. All in all, Percy knew Annabeth had made good friends, who were all legitimately nice and funny people, which he was proud of her. Not that he expected anything less though.

Entering their first class, English, they were allowed to choose their seats, which were positioned in groups of six. Thankfully their group could all fit on one table, so they sat down with Annabeth next to Percy on one side of the desks, Olive next to Jasmine and Hayden next to Tom. Tom was not-so-subtly glaring at Percy, which kinda confused him - he hadn't offended him accidentally. Right?

"Hey, did I do something to Tom?" Percy whispered in Ancient Greek to Annabeth. Annabeth thought for a second, then an understanding expression crossed her face.

"He usually sits here - I think he's just not used to having his spot filled. That's all." Annabeth whispered back, giving his Seaweed Brain a reassuring smile. Percy smiled back, but sneaking a glance at Tom, who was still eyeing the pair warily, he wasn't so sure. Yes he could be oblivious sometimes, but there was something up. And Percy was determined to find out what. After all, loyalty was his fatal flaw - someone being mad or annoyed at him when he didn't know why really bugged him. Shaken out of his thoughts, Percy turned his attention to the front, where their English teacher was standing. She was in her 50s, wearing a long green shirt and cream pants. She watched as she stepped out of her jacket, the zipper on which had apparently gotten stuck. She seemed... interesting.

"Good morning class! Let's begin our unit on poetry!"

Boy, was this going to be a long semester.

Hey guys! This is super short, but I got only one vote for the 'shorter chaps, longer chaps' debate so I will update more frequently with shorter chapters. In the future I may go back and combine chapters, but we'll see how it goes. Thank you all SO MUCH for reading once again! You have no idea how happy I am when I see people comment on my story or favourite it. Seriously, it means the world to me and motivates me to keep writing :)

Love you all! 3
