Random Camper (lets call them Ava) POV

Ava woke up at 3am. It wasn't unusual for Apollo children to rise early, but this was a bit much. Still, she couldn't seem to get back to sleep. Ugh. Ava thought. I might as well wander then. Due to the magical border, there was no danger in exploring camp at night, and Ava did it often to clear her head.

About half an hour into her walk, she noticed a figure slinking out of the Hermes cabin. At first, Ava brushed it off, thinking it was the Stolls stealing something from the camp store again. But she paid more attention as the silhouette made its way towards.. was that the climbing wall? At night, they turned off the lava, so it was super easy. Well, at least super easy for demigods. A baby could scale that thing in 10 seconds flat! thought Ava.

Yet the person seemed to struggle with it. Really struggle. To Ava, it was hilarious. She got out her phone (monster proofed by the Hephaestus Cabin), and recorded as the figure fell off time and time again, never reaching the top. The mysterious person seemed fit, but they had obviously never been trained like a demigod before. Silently giggling, Ava got the whole thing on tape, then sent it to her friend Kirk from the Ares cabin. Some called him a bully, but Ava saw him as an asset. Like how majority of the camp called Ava a gossiping beotch with no heart, but her inside circle saw her as a source of information and a goddess. She sent the video to them, too. It would be a good laugh.

Tom POV (ew)

Tom woke up to giggles from the corner of the Hermes cabin. Two girls were laughing about something on their phones. Some of the others in the cabin seemed to notice too, and went over to look. A couple of them stifled a laugh, whilst others cackled outright. Tom walked over to see what was going on. Peering over someone's shoulder, he looked at the phone.

It was a video of someone in jeans and a black t-shirt, trying (and failing miserably) to scale the climbing wall. It seemed to be around 3am, so the lava was turned off. Regardless, the figure still couldn't get halfway up the wall. Tom peered in closer. He caught a glimpse of the person's blonde hair. Then the information was him.

He'd snuck out last night to get practice on the climbing wall, so that he could impress everybody (mostly Annabeth), the next day with his skills. Unfortunately, it didn't go to plan. And apparently, someone had filmed it.

"No, no, no, no." Tom murmured under his breath, then stopping in case someone heard. Unluckily for Tom, judging by the stares of everyone in the cabin, everyone had heard. They began to laugh.

"Is that you?!"

"Wow! You're so bad!"

"Bahahahahahaha! You're a sad excuse for a demigod."

Tom ran off, not looking back. He didn't want to see the jeering faces of the campers. Tom didn't know where he was going, as long as it was away from here. He barely registered the lush greenery on the corner of his blurry vision. Barely noticed the whispering voices from a strange grove, though he heard snippets of strange rhyming lines. (please someone get that reference lemme know in the comments)

Somehow, his feet knew when to stop, right in front of a sturdy log he could sit on. The tears finally fell, streaking Tom's cheeks. How unfair could his life get? He was lied to by his mum his entire life. His crush was, as much as he hated to admit it, infatuated with someone else. He'd finally got to this place, this 'wonderful' place that was supposedly meant to be his second home... and everyone despised him. If it weren't such a terrible situation, Tom would laugh at his terrible luck.

What was most likely minutes, but felt like hours, passed, and slowly Tom's tears faded. The pity and sadness and despair and loneliness, this sea of emotions he felt inside, was replaced with a desert. And instead of melancholy, he now felt nothing but anger.

Pure rage filled Tom. He would make them pay for what they did. He would.

He would show them all how much of a demigod he could really be. He would get Annabeth to see how Percy was awful and probably cheating on her. He would climb the wall and become the most feared and most popular camper in history. That he vowed to do.
