When Melinda was gone, Joyce, Jack and Dennis were the only ones left in the kitchen. When Melinda left, Joyce turned to see her husband facepalming himself with his hand.
"It's alright Jack, you did the right thing.",whispered Joyce softly.
"I know, honey, but, I still feel like such a fool of what I said to Melinda.",confided Jack.
"Dad, you're no fool. You were trying to be protective and I get that. It was wrong, what you said though.",said Dennis.
"It's just I'm so scared for Melinda ,that's all, gosh! Why didn't I punch back at Mr.Evans when I had the chance.",groaned Jack.
He remembered what happened at court over the summer leaving the whole family in silence.
"You know what!?! I should go talk to her.",decided Dennis.
He got up from his seat and left as his father waved "bye" at him. He still had his hand on his face while as his wife was comforting him.
In Melinda's Room~
Melinda was busy trying to get to the homework she was supposed to do ever since she had got out of school. She turned away from what she was doing when she then heard a knock on the door opened there was her brother, Dennis, coming in
"Hey, I know that your busy, but, I just want you to know that Dad didn't really mean it. You know..what he said.",said Dennis.
Melinda was silent for a couple of minutes. Dennis had just told her before getting up out of her seat to walk over to go and hug him
"I understand.",said Melinda.
Dennis smiled and nodded in response to what she said. Melinda released him from hugging to go back to do her homework, while as Dennis then closed the door as he left her room.
