Thanks so much for those of you who have liked or started following this story and of course left reviews. We're all so desperate for reviews :)

One of the comments asked for longer chapters, I will try. I'm excited to start something new and have probably spent way too much time writing this story when I should be working - whoops!

I will finish the other story Therapy, but in the meantime...chapter 3.

Arizona hadn't meant to stay over at the training ground again tonight, but she had become engrossed in new research paper from Canada and then before she knew it it was midnight. Swimming always helped her unwind and so after 20 laps of the pool she was ready for a hit shower and then bed.

As she pushed the door to the changing room open she jumped for her life not expecting anyone to be there.

"Jesus Christ!" She yelled "you scared the living shit out of me!" Arizona took a deep breath before realising who it was.

"Torres?" Arizona asked surprised "what...what are you doing here?"

Callie hadn't meant to frighten the physio, but she didn't want to be caught watching so she had ducked out of sight as she saw the blonde head towards the changing room.

"Hey! I'm sorry Dr..." oh shit, she had totally forgotten the woman's name "...Roberts" she replied thinking it sounded right.

"Robbins" Arizona shot back "it's Dr Robbins"

"Right. Right. Sorry Dr Robbins, I umm didn't mean to frighten you!" Callie kicked herself for getting the blondes name wrong and felt a strange sense of nervousness around her. That wasn't like her. She didn't get nervous around people. She had met the Obama's, scored a penalty in a World Cup final...Callie Torres didn't do nerves...so what was this feeling she had inside her as she looked at the physio standing in front of her in her bathing suit, water dripping from her.

"What are you doing here?" Arizona asked again as she rubbed her hair with a towel whilst keeping those blue eyes firmly fixed on the American.

"I couldn't sleep so I figured I'm come and have a swim." Callie responded matter-of-factly

"No way. Not until I've completed my assessment of that knee" the physio responded firmly.

"It's swimming for gods sake..., it's good for my recovery." Callie replied annoyed at being prevented from what she had come to do.

"That may be the case, but you are Spurs player now, and that means I am in charge of your fitness and I say no swimming until after the full assessment" Arizona was aware that she was creating a pool of water by her feet and really needed to get in the shower, but she could also tell that Callie Torres was used to getting her own way.

"You are kidding me right?" Callie replied mouth open in shock

"One thing you'll get to learn about me Torres is that I don't joke about the fitness of my players." Arizona knew she had to stand her ground here. Sure it was just a swim, but she didn't want to take any chances. "I hope in time you'll come to appreciate that".

Realising the physio wasn't going to budge Callie decided to admit defeat "this place is a joke!" She said as she huffed out of the changing room and stomped back over to her apartment.

Now she was too worked up to get any sleep that's for sure. Who did that woman think she was? Callie had had some of the best doctors in the world treat her over the years and now she was in the hands of some control freak she'd never heard of.

She climbed back into her PJ's and into bed and reached for her laptop and googled Dr Robbins Spurs Physio.

Dr Arizona Robbins, Head Physio, Tottenham Hotspur's Women's Football Team.

"Arizona!" Callie muttered out loud to herself. What kind of a name was that!

She spent the next 15 minutes flicking through the results which talked about Arizona Robbins obtaining her degree at Loughborough, followed by a Masters at Florida, her time as head physio at Georgetown, Real Madrid and the England national women's team and a number of references to papers she had written on various injuries.

Callie had to admit that it seemed that she knew her stuff when it came to sports injuries.

Callie clicked on the image search option and flicked through the photos of the physio, stopping for a few moments on each one where there was a clear shot of those blue eyes. In most of the photos she was interacting with soccer players on training pitches. In nearly all of the photos she was in a tracksuit covering up the body that Callie had earlier been faced with in the changing room.

She hadn't meant to, but Callie couldn't help but notice the physio's hard nipples through her wet swimming costume.

Callie stopped as she found one photo from a few years ago of the Physio collecting an award at some Gala dinner in which she was wearing a short black dress, killer heels and her blonde hair was hanging over bare shoulders. Those shoulders that she had earlier been watching glide in and out of the water. The other thing that caught her attention was the wedding ring on Arizona's left hand. So she was married. Made sense Callie thought to herself as she closed the laptop, not that it mattered to her anyway, Callie wasn't interested in women that way.

90 minutes after Callie arrived for her medical the next morning Arizona, Sam and Becky watched their star signing leave the gym. As soon as the door had closed behind her Sam turned to her work colleagues with a look of horror on her face "Holy Cow...what a stuck up bitch!"

"Sam!" Arizona scolded the physio

"What Ari? She is!" Sam looked wide eyed at her boss and friend in shock that she didn't feel the same way.

"It wasn't the easiest session we've had" Becky joined in.

"Seriously..." Sam continued clearly worked up

"what is her problem?"

Arizona took a swig of water and reflected on the attitude Callie had given them, and her in particular, during their evaluation. Normally in the sessions Arizona liked to use the time to get to know the players better, understand a bit more about their personal lives, support network, boyfriend/Girlfriend but that hadn't happened today. Every question was greeted with a yes/no/maybe answer, the American had sighed and tutted when asked to complete exercises, it was as Becky had said not been fun.

"I suspect I'm her problem" Arizona responded before telling them about the incident in the changing room last night.

"Oh for fucks sake...so we got all that attitude because she wasn't allowed to go for a swim? Seriously?" Sam responded angrily

"It seems that way, but you know what?" Arizona said keen to keep things professional "we owe her the benefit of the doubt here guys, she has just landed from the States and is probably jet lagged, so let's try and keep things professional and not resort to name calling...just yet!" Arizona added a little smile at the end to demonstrate she understood Sam and Becky's frustration, but she needed them to work to the high standards she set.

"The best thing we can do to win Ms Torres over is get her fit and playing as soon as possible."

Arizona started clearing up the skipping ropes and resistance bands they had used during the medical and added " Remember...Torres is here for a different reason, her goal isn't to win things at Spurs, although obviously we hope she feels that way eventually, but right now...that isn't her primary motivation. She is an exceptional player who has already won everything there is to win. What motivates her is different to the other players. Callie Torres just wants to get fit so she can play at the Olympics and be the poster girl of the USA team again."

"Great so we just have to put up with the shitty attitude for the next year?" Sam responded

"No Sam" Arizona replied impatiently stopping what she was doing and turning to look at her colleagues "Remember we've talked about this in the past, how motivated players recover quicker from their injuries than those who don't have anything to fight for?"

"Yes, like the academy players that want to progress" Becky responded

"Yes classic example, our job is to identify what motivates the players and work with them."

Arizona could see that Sam wasn't convinced.

"Look, I feel like I may have created the problem, so leave it with me OK? I'll go see her and clear the air, but I need you both to get behind her OK?"

"Of course we will. You know we'd do anything for you, and the success of the team...just doesn't mean I have to like her!" Sam replied

"Maybe not, but try and understand her and give her a little bit of slack OK?"

"OKay" Sam and Becky replied at the same time as the three of them headed out of the gym and back into the office to review the results of Callie's assessment.

As Callie walked around another house with Stacey she couldn't help but think this was all a huge mistake. Why on earth had she agreed to come here?

Stacey knew Callie well enough to know when something was up and after she dismissed the third property as soon as they had pulled up outside Stacey had had enough.

"OK Cal, spit it out...what's going on in that head of yours?"

Callie looked over at Stacey and weighed up who was asking the question, was it her friend or her manager?

"I think that this was a bad idea Stace. I'm thinking we should just rip up the contract, take the financial hit and I come back to the States with you on Thursday."

Shit! This was not what Stacey wanted to hear. The legalities of pulling out of the contract would be costly, not to mention how it would look to Callie's image.

"Cal you haven't even given it a chance yet. I need you to at least stick it out for 3 months, then we can maybe negotiate a better break out clause."

"Three months! I mean, what the hell am I supposed to do for the next three months? The stupid Virus means I can't go anywhere, hangout with people..."

"Errr how about play football?" Stacey interrupted

Callie scoffed "yeah well in case you forgot I'm injured and according to the bitch of a physio at the club, I can't even go swimming, so I can't see me getting on the pitch anytime soon."

"Cal, she's good. I got the physio team at Orlando Pride to fill me in on her, she knows her stuff. I wouldn't let you go anywhere if they were going to do more harm than good."

Callie remained silent, unconvinced by Stacey's words. She had never quit anything before in her life, but it would be so easy to just walk away, blame it all on the weather, the fan base in the states would understand and just back to Florida...warm, sunny Florida.

"Listen, from Friday you can meet up with one other household, so why don't you arrange to meet up with Jess?"

"Hmmm maybe, but I don't know if that's such a good idea, you know after the talk about us" Callie replied.

"Oh we both know that was nothing. Just wishful thinking on the part of some over zealous fans that's all!" Stacey brushed off Callie's comment.

Having known Stacey for half her life, Callie told her pretty much everything, but she had never mentioned the fact that she had in the past thought what it would feel like to kiss Jess.

Like her Stacey had been raised a Catholic, unlike Callie, Stacey still practiced and so she wasn't sure how her friend would react.

"Besides, I doubt it would be a big thing over here, it would probably be a bigger thing that she plays for the arch rivals!" Stacey added before continuing "listen babe, I know this happened quickly, but you've got this...I know you have...it'll all be worth it when they place the gold medal around your neck in Japan next year!"

Callie pictured the scene and hoped Stacey was right. "Okay, I'll stick it out" Callie sighed "but please tell me the next house we have to look at is better than this place!"

Stacey let out a chuckle, relieved that the drama had been diverted "I've a good feeling about the next one, I think you're going to love it" Stacey looked over at her friend who was giving her a disbelieving look "ok maybe love is too strong a term!"

—————

Stacey had been right the next property was much more what Callie was looking for, open plan with a swimming pool and gym and lots of light, much needed for gloomy winter days. Stacey had headed back to her apartment to sort out furnishings and arrange for Callie's things to be shipped to the house, in the hope of getting things sorted before she headed home.

Callie was on the sofa thinking about what Stacey had said about meeting Jess and decided to give her friend a FaceTime call.

"Yo Torres!" Callie smiled as she was greeted by a happy looking Jess who added "Urgh what is that hideous tracksuit you are wearing?" Making reference to the Spurs hoodie Callie was wearing and the rivalry between their two clubs.

"Ha ha, very funny...I see you have bought into the whole rivalry already!" Callie responded

"Babe you have to! If you wanna be liked by the fans just slag off Spurs, or in your case Arsenal. It's hilarious." Jess explained "anyway, how you settling in?"

Callie filled Jess in with what had happened over the past couple of days from finding somewhere to live, to her run in with Arizona Robbins.

"Ohhhh is she the cute blonde one?" Jess asked "we played Spurs the other week in the cup, thrashed them by the way" Jess added with a wink "and one of the girls on the team bus mentioned a hot physio"

Callie paused unsure how to respond "I guess...you know, it you like that kinda thing!"

"Anyway, the comment caused a bit of a scene on the bus Jess added "A couple of the team took offence to the comment and stuck up for her and said that she was the best physio they had worked with, and that as women we should respect that and comment on that rather than what she looked like!"

"Well I agree with that! We have a hard enough time winning respect outside the game, we don't need to undermine ourselves internally as well!" Callie replied passionately.

Throughout her early soccer career she would have to put up with articles where she was described as the 'stunning brunette striker', or her particular favourite "Torres scored a stunning goal that matched her own beauty!".

Things had gotten better over the past few years, but there was still the glamour side that they were expected to live up to.

Just then there was an unexpected knock at the door of the apartment

"listen I've gotta go. It was good to talk. I'll call you tomorrow." Callie smiled down the phone.

"Look forward to it" Jess replied with a smile before ending the call.

Callie didn't know what to make about that comment, but she put it to the back of her mind as she walked over to the door.

Blue eyes met brown as Callie opened the door.

"Hi." Arizona smiled warmly at the American who was clearly surprised to see her.

"Listen, I think we got off on the wrong foot, so I wondered if you fancied a swim?" The physio said smiling as she held out her swimming goggles.

Callie felt her stomach flip as she caught sight of those dimples for the first time.

So what are peoples initial thoughts about the characters as they develop? Obviously Callie has some mixed messages she needs to deal with. What's the story with Arizona? Was she too harsh on Callie?

Anyway, I hope you liked the chapter and the pace of the story. I'm not sure how many chapters it will turn out to be.
