Just a short one tonight, will hopefully be able to do a longer chapter at the weekend

Callie felt her heart rate increase and her palms go sweaty as she looked at the blonde doctor standing outside her apartment. She hadn't seen her smile like this before and her eyes were literally twinkling.

Trying to ignore the physical reaction she was experiencing at the sight of the blonde physio Callie focused on the question. Did she want to go for a swim? She had committed to Stacey to making a go of this, and maybe the blonde Dr did know her stuff.

"Sure." Callie said with a small smile as she opened the door wider to let the physio in "let me just grab my stuff OK?" Callie said she headed off to the bedroom.

"So how did the house hunting go?" Arizona called out after the brunette

"Oh good. We found a place in umm Isle-ling-ton"

Arizona laughed to herself at Callie's mispronunciation, but figured it was best not to correct her, leave that to someone else.

"I'm surprised, normally the players live outside in the country in some blinged up place".

Callie rejoined the physio and with a straight face responded "one thing you'll get to learn about me Dr Robbins, is that I'm not like the other players!"

Arizona held the American's gaze for a few seconds fully recognising that she had said that in reference to her statement the night before. The blonde smiled as she had clearly rattled the star player.

"I'm beginning to see that Calliope" Arizona responded noticing the look on the other woman's face as she used her full name for the first time. "Shall we?" She added as she turned and headed out the apartment leaving Callie to follow.

No one called Callie Calliope, not even her parents. The American was still stunned as she followed the Brit out the door and over to the pool. She kind of liked the way it sounded in her English accent.

Once in the changing room Arizona started stripping out of her tracksuit. Callie hesitated slightly, she didn't know why, she had been naked in changing rooms hundreds of times, after games so why was this time any different. Pull yourself together Torres she thought to herself as she turned her back to the blonde and yanked off her hoodie followed by jeans and underwear and quickly pulled on her swimsuit.

As she turned round she caught the briefest of glimpses of the blondes breasts as Arizona pulled her swimsuit up over her shoulders. Turning to see Callie looking she smiled that dimpled smile again before grabbing her goggles and hat "ready?" She asked as she headed out the door into the swimming pool.

Callie found her throat tight for some reason and croaked out a yes, before deciding to just nod and followed the physio out.

As she followed behind Arizona Callie noticed for the first time the large scar that ran from the doctors heel all the way up to the middle of her calf. It looked old, but it had clearly been a significant injury and Callie wondered what had happened.

After a quick shower, they walked down to steps into the pool.

"OK Torres so I want you to take the first lap easy OK?" Arizona spoke as she pulled her blonde hair up into a ponytail and tucked it under her swim hat.

"This isn't a race. I just want to see how your knee responds to some exercises."

"Sure" the American said as she ducked under the water and smoothed her hair down before setting off down the lane.

The water felt great and despite not hardly sleeping in the last 48 hours, she suddenly felt awake and alive.

"OK that's good" Arizona shouted as she followed in the next lane, now at the end of the lap I want you to go on your side and just use your left arm and your left leg, like this" Callie stopped swimming and looked over at Arizona as she demonstrated the exercise.

"And Torres, it's really important you tell me the minute you feel any tightness or pain OK?"

"Got it Dr Robbins" Callie said as she started the next exercise.

Arizona put Callie through a number of exercises over the next hour, some she would dive under the water to watch Callie's leg movements, others she would hold her waist for balance as the brunette put more and more pressure on the left knee.

"OK I think we'd better call it a day" The physio said

"Really? Because I can do more" Callie responded

"I know you can, and that's good. That's a good place to leave it." Arizona responded. One of the toughest part of her job was ensuring players didn't rush back too soon.

"It's just, I..." Callie started to argue back but Arizona didn't give her a chance.

"Look Torres, we've made a really good start here. Go take a shower, go to bed, get some sleep and I'll see you tomorrow at our scheduled session in the gym OK." Arizona looked at Callie who still clearly wasn't sure about her credentials as a physio. This was crunch time, Arizona needed Callie to trust her.

Callie thought about her options here. Part of her was tempted to dive back under the water and swim away from the blonde, but as the two woman exchanged looks, something inside told her to trust what the physio was saying.

"OK Dr Robbins. You win" Callie said as she swam towards the steps of the pool and climbed out.

Phew! Arizona breathed a small sigh of relief that she had won that small battle, but she knew there was a long way to go with Callie Torres before the American fully trusted her.

--

As Callie stood under the shower she felt the best she had felt since arriving in London. As the hot water hit her skin she allowed her thoughts to drift to the blonde physio and how it had felt as she placed her hands around Callie's waist to support her during the exercises. Callie was intrigued by this woman and slightly alarmed at the effect her presence had on her, yet she knew very little about her.

Arizona caught Callie staring at her as she rubbed body lotion into her skin and gave a small smile back. It wasn't the first time she had caught the brunette looking at her, and it gave her a little buzz.

"So do you always work this late?" Callie asked casually keen to try and find out more about the physio "I mean you were here super late last night as well."

"Umm well yeah I guess I'm a little bit of a workaholic. I stay over here a few nights each week depending on how many injuries we have". Arizona admitted

Callie paused before asking the next question "and what does your husband think about that?" She looked over and watched for the reaction

Arizona stopped rubbing lotion into her leg and looked over at the American who was staring back at her waiting for her reply.

"My what?" Arizona responded in surprise "what makes you think I'm married?" She asked intrigued by the question.

Shit Callie thought...she hadn't thought this through properly. Did she lie or come clean about seeing the photo, but then she would be confessing to spending time googling the blonde. Fuck it! Callie thought as she decided to put her cards on the table.

"Well after our umm run in last night I did a little bit of research" she admitted

"Oh you did did you!" Arizona said with a knowing tone in her voice and couldn't help the smile that formed on her face "checking out my credentials" she let out a small chuckle "and what did you discover Calliope?"

Fuck! There she went again with the Calliope. Callie felt her cheeks flush and was grateful to be able to blame the redness on the shower.

"Well all the usual about where you studied, your research papers..." Callie admitted

"So nothing juicy?" Arizona asked with a cheeky smile.

"No nothing worth ringing the National Enquirer about" Callie responded "but in one photo you were ummmm wearing a wedding ring." Callie pushed the blonde for more

"I was was I? Hmmmm I wonder what picture that was?" Arizona said thoughtfully

"You were wearing a short black shoulder less dress, your hair was longer, it looked like an awards do..."

Callie responded quickly and with way too much detail to be cool. Fuck!

"Oh right. That night. I loved that dress!" Arizona stalled as she thought through her response. Arizona was a private person and whilst she knew the American was fishing for details, she wasn't willing to share them.

"Your detective skills were correct Torres. I was indeed wearing a wedding ring that night, but I don't wear it anymore" Arizona replied matter-of-factly and left it there as she slipped on the rest of her clothes.

"Listen, it's getting late, you should get some sleep. Our bodies need plenty of sleep to recover" Arizona said changing the subject before heading over to the door to leave. Before she opened the door she looked over in the direction of the brunette who was still just wrapped in a towel.

"Are we good Torres?" Arizona asked

Callie paused before answering. She was so intrigued by this women, she wanted to know more, she wanted to know what had happened to her leg? who she had been married to? why she stopped wearing her ring? had she been married to a man or a woman? Did she know how amazing her eyes were? Again Callie realised she was taking too long to answer a simple question.

"We're good Dr Robbins" she eventually answered as she watched the blonde physio leave the changing room "but we could be better" Callie muttered to herself.

Hope you liked it?

Meanwhile in the real world Spurs played Arsenal tonight and it was 2-2 so it went to penalties and Alex Morgan who joined Spurs to get fit for the Olympics next year missed her penalty so Spurs (my team) lost :(
