A slightly late Valentines gift to all my online friends, enjoy and be well!

As the snarling vampire dove at Sophia, Taylor dipped the barrel of her shotgun to the ground, a weapon which the vigilante would argue could double its role as an anti-aircraft cannon, tripping the monster midstep. The undead creature stumbled a moment, then impaled itself on the Demon Slayer, it mouthed out 'No Fair!' then fell apart into a cloud of ash. Rolling her eyes Sophia shoved the stake into her belt while turning to Spooky Girl who was at the moment using a paint brush to sweep the vampire ash into a zip-lock bag.

Staring down at her...fine, friend, Sophia couldn't help drawling out, "You know most people would find your little quirks like this terrifying, creepy, and or unsettling."

Pocketing the baggy of ash Taylor glanced at Sophia, then shot her a smirk that made her cheeks burn for some reason, "Yeah well, most people are boring. 's why we hang out."

Sophia...did not disagree with this statement.

Priming her crossbow and shaking her head to clear her thoughts she walked beside Spooky as she was muttering...moonspeak to herself while reading from a book that's text at a glance made her sanity hurt when she finally broke down and spoke up.

"So how the fuck do we end this?"

Spooky blinked, then glanced at Sophia, "End what Trip?"

Oh yeah, that was something else recent she was trying to come to grips with, the other girl had decided to give her a nickname that annoyed the hell out of her because it was a good nickname. The innocent and honest look Taylor had shot her when she explained herself didn't help at all. Her name was Sophia, her cape name was Shadow Stalker, thus Triple S, or to Taylor, Trip, and it was so fucking cool! Her retaliation of calling Taylor Spooky then completely backfired when she laughed nodded, then muttered, "I kind of am aren't I?"

Why was she so fucking cute!? UGH!

Centering herself Sophia motioned around her, "The fucking vampire zombie apocalypse?"

Taylor scoffed at that while shouldering her shotgun, "I'd hardly call this an apocalypse Trip, I mean Nana hasn't shown up yet so we're good on the whole, 'End of All Hope' side of things... Well... for now at least."

Sophia took in a deep breath, let it out slowly while centering herself, then asked what she did not want answered, "Why is it important your 'Nana' is not involved in this clusterfuck Spooky..."

Taylor was silent for a time, then shrugged, "My heritage is...complicated."

There was more silence, then Sophia bit the bullet and asked, "Are you really from Mab's bloodline?"

Pulling a duel tone pink and purple pistol from seemingly nowhere Taylor snapped off a shot at a vampire that Sophia hadn't even noticed was stalking them; as it screamed in agony and collapsed to the ground while it caught on fire and exploded, Taylor holstered the pistol while nodding slowly.

She never even glanced at the vamp as she headshot him.

"Mom...when her phylactery finally gets with the damn program and charges correctly can explain it better than me. She, I should say we are...I won't say changelings, cause we aren't, but we're of Fae decent, and Dad is... Ugh, I really do not want to get into Nordic mythological politics, lets just say 'It's complicated' and leave it at that."

As they kept walking down the streets of downtown Brockton, Sophia mulled her options, then decided to hell with it, her curiosity was too great.

"So...do you realize how utterly terrifying you are?"

More silence.

They killed four more vampires, eventually they just fell into the steady rhythm of their patrol, and the accompanying, now near echoing silence.

Eventually Taylor spoke up, "Yeah... I was... Well, fairly oblivious of it when I was younger. When I got older I started getting a grasp on it, didn't really help though. My only friend was Emma and she was a lot like Aunt Zoe was with mom and Uncle Allen was with dad, they adapted to our... Hebert'ness, and Emma did too. Then I made friends with you and... Well I still haven't figured out if you're my friend because you're scared I'll turn on you, which I won't by the by, or if you really like hanging out with me."

She shrugged, scowled, brought that absolutely ridiculous Spas-12 to bear, and blasted a vampire sneaking up behind them in the face. As it fell to the ground burning away into dust she racked the slide and reached into her jacket pocket for a fresh shell to slide into the shotgun's magazine while muttering "Dumbass."

They continued walking for a time, then Sophia took her hand and gripped it tight, frowning she glanced over to her friend then raised a brow, "Umm...Trip?"

"Spooky, mom's making elbow macaroni spaghetti tomorrow night, Abby asked if you'd come over for dinner some time. You promised to watch some stupid cartoon with her, I know you hate seeing kids cry, and I don't mind Adventure Time... so a bunch of birds with one stone, you fucking nerd."

Taylor was silent for a time, then muttered, "Love you too Trip."

"Spooky...seriously just shut up..."

They both broke out laughing as Sophia's crossbow snapped and Taylor's shotgun cracked out, sending two more vampires to the grave.
