"The end is upon us. We hear drums and horns. Drums and horns ring from the red horizon. The Gods have failed us. All is lost."

-Introduction-

Ash and flame smothered the once cold mountain that housed the Volraden. The cries and howls of the Volraden people resounded across the range and lands around as they were inflicted with horrible torture. The lands behind the mountain range burned under a dark ashen sky. The sun did not shine on the land this day. Lightning flashed down from the sky, striking the lands with loud booms and cracks. It was a hellish landscape one would see in depictions of the afterlife.

At the peak of the tallest mountain surrounded by hordes of demons and devils of all shapes and sizes that whooped, cheered, and screamed in exuberant glee, stood two massive men. One of the men was a Demon King. He stood seven feet tall, his red skin and sharp horns like blood upon the mountain top. He was a beast of muscle and precision, dwarfing many men. His chest and arms were bare, his shirt having been slashed to bits by the enemy he stood before. His golden belt was splotched with blood and his pants were slashed heavily also coated in blood.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! Is this the best the Champion of the Volraden people can offer? I don't know why I bothered staying in hiding collecting information on this world!" The demon cackled as he looked at the man in front of him.

"Hnng Hurggh" Came the gurgling growl of a man in immense pain whose mouth was full of blood. Said man was a humanoid white wolf standing six foot eight, his white fur coated in his own blood and full of slashes. His left leg was twisted and shattered as he gingerly rested on his right. Plate mail slashed into shards and chunks lay next to him on the rocks, a shaking broken sword held defensively in front of him. His last defense before he fell from exhaustion.

"Yes, growl wolf man. Growl as you see your empire in flames! Your women taken! Your lands plundered! Your people slaves! You have lost! Tell your Gods that their reign is over! The heavens and earth belong to the true King of All, Dabura!" Yelled the demon as he raised his massive sword and lightning came down from the sky striking the wolfman as thunder boomed and cracked.

Now a hunk of sizzling meat and fur after being struck by lightning, the champion and last resistance of the Volraden people were crushed under the cold foot of the King Dabura. Then turning to face the horizon beyond the ashen mountain, the demon Dabura looked upon the Empire that lay in the lands ahead.

"Come Yakkon. We have work to do" Dabura said before walking down the tip of the mountain and jumping into the ashen sky.

"Yes my master" Came a gurgling voice behind him.

-Coda Village-

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Came the scream of unbridled terror of a young girl as she woke up from a horrible nightmare.

"Leilei! What's the matter? What happened?" Came the confused and nervous calls of an elderly man nearby.

The girl was a young girl with short light blue hair that reached the top of her neck, her large blue eyes full of fear. A large light blue blanket covered her, giving her some comfort as she realized the horrible vision of the burning lands was only a nightmare. Yet it seemed so real. She felt the crushing aura of the demon. Saw the millions of demons and devils that filled the lands behind him and felt the smoke and stench fill the air. It was all so horribly real and crushing.

Quickly and silently, she ran to a nearby window. Opening it and looking out into the sky. It was blue and clear. Birds sang in the forest and there was no fire or ash. Slowly closing the window with a sigh, she walked back to the bed and sat down. The room was quite spacious and full of morning sunlight. Bookcases, tables and dressers full of various items and magical baubles were placed around the room neatly. The girl wore blue sleeping pants, a blue light fabric shirt that was round at the neck that had long sleeves covering her arms. They were quite comfortable.

Suppressing a shiver as she walked over to the front door of her room and opened it to a hallway that overlooked the floor below held aloft by strong pillars. The floor below was a large lounge area with a kitchen and library. Large windows high above the floor flooded it with sunlight. A table full of food greeted her when she descended the stairs at the end of the hall. At the table was an elderly man with long white hair, a white beard and a long sharp mustache.

He wore long royal blue robes and munched on a sausage that he had taken from the table with his silver fork. Swallowing the sausage, he looked up.

"A nightmare?" He asked Lelei before going back to his sausage.

"Yes" She said without any special inflections or emotion. She had regained her composure upon leaving her room.

"That's no good, here have some breakfast then wash up. We have an important visitor later" The man said having forgotten her words halfway through his response.

"Yes" She answered, taking a seat across from him and stabbing a prepared egg omelet left for her.

Today would be an interesting day for sure.
