The next five days inched by painstakingly slow. Though Jasper was weary of our family at first, he soon shared my own excitement. We were both anxious to meet them.

My throat began to ache after only three days, though he insisted that he didn't need to hunt. I couldn't tell if he was just procrastinating his new diet or if he had just learned how to control his thirst better than me over the years, but I decided to trust him.

A bear and a rabbit later, Jasper caught up with me and we decided to start the journey to Cincinnati. We didn't need that long to make the trip, but both of us were just too excited to wait much longer.

After a couple of hours, I slowed down my run slightly to match my pace with Jasper's. Over the wind, I said, "You're going to love Emmett."

He turned to me and smiled. "Which one is he, again?"

I laughed. "He's Rosalie's mate and her polar opposite."

"Noted."

We both laughed and continued sprinting through Ohio.

The woods ended soon afterwards, so we had to find the nearest town to get a car. Jasper stayed a couple of miles behind to avoid the blood, but I was able to resist enough to find a Porsche and break it's window.

We were soon riding through the bland scenery with Jazz at the wheel. The vast plains blurred by, though my eyes could pick out each individual blade of grass.

Soon, perhaps too soon, we were only mere miles from the house. Jasper held onto the steering wheel a bit too tightly and I tapped my foot against the car floor rhythmically as we sped closer and closer.

"Are you nervous?" I asked him.

"Not at all."

"Really?" My eyes widened.

He looked at me with his eyebrows raised and I realized that he was joking.

"Oh. Right. They'll like us."

He laughed. "Let's hope so."

"I'm serious. They will be surprised, but Carlisle and Esme will welcome us almost immediately."

Jasper sighed. "Ok. I trust you."

We remained silent for the rest of the drive, though it was only minutes before I recognized a large estate and directed Jazz towards it.

"Talk about money." He said under his breath.

The Porsche pulled into the large driveway that stretched out to the edge of their front yard, though it was more of a field. I took note of the beauty of the place - white pillars supported a roof over the porch, and a red-bricked house with white accents sat behind it. Two matching towers adorned both sides, and perfectly trimmed hedges lined the house. It was enormous, but flawlessly designed.

I stepped out of the car confidently, though my hands still shook slightly from my nerves. Jasper wasn't as good at hiding his nervousness - his thumbs fiddled with each other and his eyes flickered around us constantly.

Our car wasn't very loud, but the Cullens had heard us pull in anyways. Before walking towards the door, I concentrated on the future minutes to see what to expect.

Everyone would be surprised. Obviously. But Edward...I didn't see him. Through many of the different possibilities, he wasn't in the house. I had to focus even harder to determine where he was, or where he was going to be, but I finally came to an image of him killing a deer in the forest. A deer.

I inhaled sharply in surprise. Jasper turned his head to me in alarm. "Edward isn't going to be home. He's hunting."

He nodded. "Are you ready for this?"

"As ready as I'll ever be."

We walked up the driveway together, hand in hand, as I mentally panicked. Should I have told him? I hadn't seen anything about their diet before. What if he feels discouraged by it? Or, even worse - what if they deny us because we have human blood on our hands?

Soon, we were at the front door. It swung open after Jasper's first knock, taking away any time that I might have had to research possible futures of our rejection.

"Hello. Can we help you?" Carlisle asked.

"Hi. I'm Alice." I held out a hand, which he shook. "This is Jasper." I gestured to Jazz, who shook hands with Carlisle as well. I paused, contemplating how best to explain everything to them, before finally saying, "Can we please come inside? We have much to talk about."

I'm not sure what happened, but I posted this yesterday and it didn't seem to work, so I'm reposting it. Hopefully you guys will be able to see this. Anyways, the next chapter will be more difficult to write because of all of the different character introductions, so I'm not sure how long it will take me to write it. I have had much more time to work on this since Solstice ended, though, so it may be quicker than usual anyways. I'm debating what story to start next...should it be Harry Potter x Twilight or just Twilight based? Or a completely different fandom? I do have an idea for a Harry Potter x Twilight story involving Voldemort conspiring with the Volturi...So let me know if you'd be interested in that.
