The next morning, when Renesmee, Edward, and Bella have joined the family in Carlisle's house, Nessie says, "Aunt Alice, you need to finish your story."

"Oh boy, not this story again." Edward rolls his eyes.

"Dad, we stopped at my least favorite part."

Edward grins. "Oh yeah? And which one is that?" As he reads her thoughts, his grin fades, but his objection isn't fast enough. "No, we don't have to-"

"It's when you're too busy brooding to actually enjoy anything."

Emmett's laugh booms through the room. Edward frowns, but even Bella is unsuccessfully trying to hold back her snickers.

"I didn't brood."

Bella laughs. "You totally did."

"Won't anyone help me out here?"

"I don't think you brood, sweetie." Esme says with a smile. "Not most of the time, anyways…" She trails off.

Renesmee says, "See, everyone agrees. You were insufferable."

"Were?" Bella asks quietly.

If Emmett wasn't roaring before, he sure is now.

"Bella! You're supposed to be on my side."

"I'm sorry, but I have to be honest."

I say, "Hey, just be glad Nes doesn't know about the whole-"

"I get it." Edward interrupts me when he sees my thoughts wander to the memory of his suicide run in Volterra.

"Oh, it's too late." Nessie laughs. "Uncle Emmett and Uncle Jacob told me all about that fiasco. I mean, come on, Dad. Deserting Mom and then running off to the Volturi the first chance you get?"

Edward's eyes widen. "Emmett!"

Emmett can't even speak, he's laughing so much. Instead, Jacob says, through his own laughter, "Yeah, sorry about that. She was bound to find out some day."

Renesmee turns to Bella suddenly. She says, "And don't act all innocent, either. You were the one who decided to jump off of a cliff."

"She has a point." Both Edward and Jacob say at the same time.

Bella glares at them. "It was recreational." She sees everyone's skeptic looks. "Really!"

I clear my throat and announce, "Okay, okay, I'll finish the story now."

Renesmee claps her hands excitedly, but almost everyone else leaves. Only Renesmee and her parents are left. I raise an eyebrow at Edward.

"What? I can appreciate some romance."

Even one that you've heard a thousand times?

Edward reads my thoughts and shrugs his shoulders ever so slightly. I grin and start where I left off.

As Jasper and I took our time walking back to the house, a new vision appeared at the forefront of my mind. "Edward will be home by the time we get back."

"Oh?"

"He'll be more...accepting. It seems like Carlisle did something right, but his brooding isn't going to stop anytime soon."

Jazz smiled. "I suppose I'll just have to get used to his constant aura of misery."

"I didn't think of that. I'm sorry, it's probably so annoying to you." I frown.

"No, really, it's fine. I've felt worse."

I put my arm around him and said, "How are you? I mean, through all of this? Unlike you, I have no idea what you're feeling."

"Honestly...I have never been better. Meeting you, and then them? It's all happened fast, but I wouldn't want it any other way."

I grinned ear to ear and started quickening my pace. "Race you?"

"Loser has to go first," He said.

"Deal!"

I had to walk into the living room first. Jasper stayed outside, snickering as I tried to conceal my embarrassment in front of a howling Emmett.

"Did you two have fun?" Rosalie asked calmly.

"I bet they did." Emmett got out in between laughs.

I took a deep breath and passed them neutrally. Edward stood at the opposite end of the room, flipping through a book absentmindedly.

"So…" I begin.

"You want to apologize to me?" He guessed from my thoughts.

"And you're going to want me to still say it, even though you already know I'm thinking it."

"I know."

I narrowed my eyes. "Fine. I'm sorry."

He closed the book and looked at me. "I've watched three people force themselves into my life in the past twenty some years. This isn't a new thing for me. But that doesn't change the fact that you just waltzed in here, expecting to be treated like family instantly."

"That's not true-"

"Yes, it is. And what's even more frustrating is that you were. Esme just can't resist." He then opened the book and continued reading it as if nothing had happened.

I didn't say anything for a while, but I found myself looking back on my past few weeks subconsciously. The confusion when I awoke, the sadness upon realizing the possibility of never meeting Jasper, and the happiness when I finally found my place here. I only remembered that Edward was seeing it too when he looked up from the book again.

"Sorry, I forgot."

He groaned.

"What?" I asked, confused at his response.

"Now I know all about your sad past and I'll be forced to be nice to you. It's going to be terrible."

"I don't follow."

"I was mean to you before, and now I've seen how much you want to belong here, and all of those sappy emotions- I now know how cruel it'd be for me to be that rude to you."

I tried to suppress a grin. "So..you're saying that now you'll have no choice but to be nice to me, out of pity?"

He rolled his eyes. "The amount of happiness you get from that is just depressing."

The image of a gorgeous bedroom with a beautiful scenic view appeared in my mind, causing another groan from Edward.

"Sorry- it has the best view!" I shrugged before running upstairs, towards my future room. I heard Esme and Edward's conversation from upstairs.

"Esme, she's going to take my room. Why can't you tell her to take the guest room?"

"She's family now, Ed."

"Are you serious? It has the best acoustics."

After Jasper and I forced Edward out of his own bedroom and settled in, I heard a knock on the door. A view of Rosalie appearing behind the door came into my vision.

"Hello, Rosalie." I said as I opened it. She opened her mouth to speak, but I interrupted her when a lovely fashion show appeared. "Oh my goodness, a fashion show would be amazing, thank you so much."

"Oh...I was just going to ask you if you wanted to borrow some of my clothes…" She said, confused. "Isn't this whole psychic ability supposed to be accurate?"

I giggled. "Yes. So you might not have come here with the intent of a fashion show, but I assure you that we will be having one."

She laughs. "Okay then. I've never really had a sister like this...it'll be nice to have one around."

I beamed and took her hand, prancing out of my room and towards hers.
