I held out a beautiful white blouse in front of me. "Rose, this would look amazing on you. With some trousers and your hair pinned up and-"

Rosalie raised her brows at me. I laughed nervously.

"Sorry, I'm getting a little carried away."

"No, no, it's okay. You really have a knack for fashion, don't you?"

I frowned. "Maybe. I do have quite an appreciation for your wardrobe."

"Yes, well…" She skimmed her fingertips along the hung clothes in front of us. When her hand touched a dark green dress, she smiled and handed it to me. "Try this on."

I gladly took it, flitted to her bathroom, and changed in moments.

"Oh my goodness, you're stunning!" Rosalie exclaimed as I strutted out dramatically. "It looks perfect."

I stood in front of the mirror, taking in the person staring back at me.

She was right- the tight bodice hugged my frame and my crimson eyes stood out perfectly amidst my pale skin. My hair, long and awkwardly plain, dampened the charm of the outfit.

"Hm…" I studied myself. "How about...this?" Pinning my hair up, my hair ended at my ears and framed my face beautifully.

Rose gasped. "Yes, yes, that's what's missing. Give me just a moment."

She dashed out of the room and down the stairs, though she was back a second later. Her hand held a pair of silver scissors.

My own face appeared in my mind, striking as ever, but this time with a pixie cut to match.

"It's going to look great." I confirmed and positioned myself in front of her. "Do your worst."

My locks of hair fell to the floor, one by one, as Rosalie worked. I imagined my past falling away along with them- the loneliness and confusion and uncertainty of the past few weeks seemed to lead up to that point, so maybe it was best to leave it behind me and move on to something new.

"Okay, that will do it." She finally said.

Her hands brushed along my hair briefly to tame the few stray strands, and then gestured towards the mirror. I took a deep breath and stepped in front of my reflection, though I already knew what it would look like.

Though short, my dark locks were curled into perfect spirals along my face. The dress seemed to come alive with my transformation, completing an already flawless look.

"Wow." I breathed. "Thank you, Rose. It looks…"

"Breathtaking?"

I grinned.

"You have to go show Jasper. He'll love it." She insisted.

"Oh, I don't know…"

"Come on, I don't need psychic powers to see that he'll be mesmerized."

"You really think so?" I asked, suddenly embarrassed.

"I do. Let's go." She held out her hand for mine.

I took it and we both walked out slowly, through the hallway and down the stairs. Jasper was sitting on the couch, laughing at a joke of Emmett's, though he heard my footsteps. He turned towards me instantly and didn't try hiding his awed smile.

"Wow, Alice- you look, er, nice. I mean-"

Edward rolled his eyes and finished, "He's drooling over you."

Jasper glared at him, but quickly looked back at me. "Sorry, he's- well, he's right. I am."

I could've sworn I was blushing, but through my timid happiness, I said, "Well thank you, Jazz."

"Wait- something's different." Emmett joked. "No, don't tell me...new shoes?"

Rosalie, who had flitted towards him as soon as we reached the stairs, smacked him on the back of the head. "Don't ruin their moment."

Jasper stepped up a stair and held out his hand for me to take. I giggled and took his hand. With a quick swirl of his arm, I was spinning and pulling away. Then, with another laugh, I watched the image of him pulling me back into his arms and dodged it just in time. I appeared behind him and slung my arm across his shoulders, causing a grin of surprise to split across his face.

"Can't you two get a room? Maybe the one you stole from me?" Edward asked sarcastically.

I slid my arm off of Jasper and put a hand on my hip as I said, "You can pretend to hate me, but you and I both know that we're going to become great friends."

Rosalie and Emmett both snickered, but Edward just scowled and ran out of the room, this time towards the garage.

"I'm sorry about him. It will just take him some time to get used to this." Esme sighed.

"Like he got used to me?" Rose asked.

Esme grimaced and said to Jasper and I, "They don't get along very well."

"Really? I barely noticed." Jasper lied.

I laughed and looked back at him. In that moment, I knew who he was and who he was going to be for the rest of my existence. He was more than damaged or hurt or scarred. He was mine.

"What? No, the story can't be over yet." Renesmee protests. "What about the wedding and you and Edward and everything else?" She slumps in her seat and crosses her arms. "You always end the story too soon."

"That's because the story doesn't really have an end. There's always going to be more tales to tell, whether they're mine or Jasper's or anyone else's. If I didn't end here, where would that leave us?" I ask.

She frowns, considering it. "I guess that makes sense. But I still want to hear more of your stories. What about that newborn battle that Uncle Jasper mentioned? Can't I hear that one?"

"Maybe another time."

Edward asks her, "Why do you want to hear all of these stories anyways? You're practically an expert on all of our lives at this point."

Renesmee grins widely and sets a hand on his cheek. His mouth opens unintentionally in shock, then curves into a smile when she finishes the memory.

He turns to Bella and explains, still in wonder, "She's piecing them together. I...I just rewatched our entire lives."

Bella looks at her daughter in disbelief. "Really? Why?"

Nessie shrugs and says, "Well, I just figured that your stories are worth reliving. Maybe I'll write a book or something."

Emmett walks in then, overhearing our conversation. "A book? More like a whole saga. And some movies, too." He jokes.
